Bvlgari Man Wood Essence

I ran out of class to avoid answering at the blackboard, so I'll write a review of this perfume in my spare time. I really enjoy Bvlgari man line, my first fragrance from this line was Bvlgari Man in Black, that's was my first sample, and i fall in love with that one. Than i noticed this one, i ignored it some time, because I didn't understand how it smell based on notes, so I put off buying a sample for a while. Recently i bought this fragrance, and today I finally sprayed it on my self. First expression was like that: Wow it's smells way better than i thought, and even better than it was on my hand. Top notes smells amazing, really enjoy to wear it. But i admit some problems. Dry down smells like man shower gel, but very good and high quality shover gel, i have sample of Bvlgari Man Glacial essence, and dry down of that smells very similar to Bvlgari Man Wood essence, so i think these dry downs і common to the entire line, it is, so to speak, the DNA of Bvlgari. How it smells? Top notes smells like citrus zest with sugar mixed with needles and other forest greens. Hard to say how dry down smells, but I can say for sure, I don't smell citrus anymore, some sweetness are still felt, but now sweetness mixed with cypress and some cedar, can't be sure i feel benzoin notes. At all Bvlgari Man Wood Essence good option if you want to stand out from mass for normal price, smells good, if you want to smell like forest, you can check this out, but i sure this is not the best option.

Really don't get the hate around this fragrance. It's my signature scent and I really hope it stays under the radar. I've personally never smelled anything similar to this so in that sense it's very unique. I've had a colleague smell it because he found it familiar and he guessed about 20 times before giving up. Also, a great compliment getter from the ladies - but don't expect those to fall from the sky, it's not an average crowd pleaser. Generally, this is a bit more formal and a bit mature fragrance in my opinion. Safe all rounder except for maybe scorching summers where it might get a bit dense, but still a good choice. Wouldn't recommend blind buying it as it's not your regular freshie. Only reason why it's not a 10/10 is it's longevity - while I've had it stay on up to 12 hours, it projects mildly after about 2 hours. The bottle is beautiful but a bit tough to handle. But then again, nobody is going to bother about the bottle once they smell you. tl;dr - unique scent, signature worthy, all rounder, great with ladies.

To the experienced folks the initial impression would be a bit synthetic but as it dries, man you realize that it's just how benzoin and cypress combo took over the whole opening (I don't get any citrus sugar thing maybe 10% if any) and it smells like some strong synthetic resin which is trying to be fresh. Unpleasant if you overspray but do it anyway, trust me. The drydown is to die for. If you like the idea of classic green manly fragrances, this is a green, woody, manly fragrance which is sweetened by real Benzoin Siam Absolute as per their ingredients list. Real resins are always likely to overpower stuff but anyway, I care more about drydown. (I would overspray this and then would sit alone for like 15 min). This is my guilty pleasure. You realize the quality of this fragrance in the drydown. Beside quality, the only thing I was surprised of while researching and experiencing this fragrance for a few months was how come it smells so mass appealing, idk why I didn't bother to check the perfumer before.

Great fragrance. Fresh and woodsy. I don't understand how a fragrance can perform so poorly on one person but perform great for others but I think this fragrance is great for the price you can get it for at discounters. I recently got a 3 pack of 15ml mini bottles of Bvlgair Man in Black, Wood Neroli and this, Wood Essence. I tested Man In Black a few days ago and it's great. I tried Wood Essence today, and I sprayed it before leaving for work about 12 hours ago and as I type this, now home, I can still smell it wafting up from my neck. About an hour and a half after I first sprayed it, when I arrived at work, one of my friends who was well over 5 feet away from told me I smell great and that this is her official favorite that she's smelled on me. 1.Compliments-yes 2.Longevity-yes 3.Projection-yes 4.Overall-YES! Definitely worth checking out if you like fresh woody fragrances.

It's a big love from me as well. This is the kind of balsamic/aromatic-type of scents that you find in Chanel Sport Eau Extreme and YSL L'homme parfum Intense. Having grown tired of the old legend Acqua di Gio Profumo, this was a perfect refreshing substitute. And btw, I have showered twice today due to an extra exercise session and I can still smell this beauty. Two thumbs up from me! Edit: I just had to come to say I'm so glad I bought this bottle, it's indeed a grower, just like the trees and the bushes and plants it smells like. It feels like walking through thick green bushes in the middle of summer. Still it also got a hint of the fresh and spicy DNA of Bvlgari Man lurking in the background. What a great combo! I believe the nay-sayers here in time will realize what a hidden gem this indeed is.

I had actually set out to buy Neroli Wood Essence. But, after spritzing that I spotted Wood Essence. Which I tested on my other arm and completely forgot about Neroli Wood Essence! It made a powerful impression upon me with that delicately sweet, citrus opening and smooth, sensual base. Now, I love vetiver. But, sometimes it can feel too heavy or dominant for my liking. The vetiver is perfectly balanced here in Wood Essence. This has incredible staying power. I believe this is better suited to cooler weather. Which is tricky if, like me, you live in a subtropical climate. I've learned to restrain myself and spritz it lightly on my hair and clothes when it's warm. I appreciate it's a men's scent, but this works so well on me, I'm a huge fan. I hope Bvlgari keep making it!

Honestly? Hidden gem. VERY underrated, but only if you get from discounters. On full retail you can find similar frags that you'd pick instead of this. I wasn't expecting much, and like others said, the presentation and juice color is kinda ugly. But the scent, wow, caugh me by surprise. It's not at all a heavy wood, quite the opposite. Silky smooth, gentle and "upper class", the citrus and cypress combo is pretty obvious and well blended. Very light sweetness in the background. It keeps that spirit throughout the whole duration, but don't take this as a linear scent. The drydown gets a little more serious, but still retains its smoothness. Blind bought it, expecting to be disappointed. Turned out to be a very pleasant discovery.

BVLGARI MAN Wood Essence is just WOW! One of the most versatile fragrances out there. You can wear it to the office and still rock it later that night for a date. I spray 5-7 sprays, usually lasting me 6 hours. This scent will project in cooler and warmer weather but will get obnoxious if the weather is too hot. Mostly a spring and fall beast, but you can get away wearing it year-round. In terms of compliments, I would rate it a 3.5/5. It won't get you compliments unless someone hugs you have more of a moderate to intimate sillage. Overall a great fragrance that I believe every man should own. Overall a 4/5 and has been one of my top ten fragrances of all time. You can't go wrong with Wood Essence!

Heard great things about bvlgari so I checked some of their perfumes, smelt this one and out of hundreds upon hundreds which I smelled, this is one of the best I smelled, I absolutely love this scent, it has the smell of a magical green forest from the movies, gives of nature, relaxed and pleasent vibe from it's smell and I absolutely love these types of smells which it does perfectly, if you are a nature person or even just like the relaxing and unique smell of a forest, get this one ASAP, doesn't cost much but brings a lot to the table, for longevity and spillage I didn't get to check it, but I know it has at least 6h on my skin and somewhat sillage

This juice is so underrated. It is so uplifting, has magical sweet freshness. I can't stop smelling it. The name is not misleading because it's different woody scent. I would maybe rather call it forrest essence. It has spring forrest after rain feel, where all flowery, woody, aromas get mixed up andspread through the air. It's magical. The longevity is great on me. It could be certain people become anosmic after a while. EDIT: This is definitely the case. After a week of daily use i don't feel much of projection and sillage, even though it's definitely there. I get great reaction from others. So you do get anosmic after a while.

Honestly I love this stuff! You get a pleasant woody green smell but it has like a nice spicy tinge to it. It's like visiting a national park and you smell a little bit of that tree sap in the air. It's woody and spicy but it also has a sweet and fresh side too. I don't think this is your typical mainstream designer like some people assume. I didn't think this was going to smell like woods based on the notes but it actually does. I think this is a good fragrance for a guy who likes flannel shirts but wants a more pleasant upgrade from the average barbershop fragrance. This is like a designer release for a more outdoorsy guy.

An unexpected delight. Wood Essence hits you with a unique combination of earth and sweetness; natural and smoothly blended in. I am not particularly fond of sweet fragrances, but this one pulled it off nicely by balancing out with the earthiness. The cypress note pops out early on, but it melds with everything else soon after. The dry down is also sweet and earthy, yet it's unlike the opening. It's perhaps not the strongest projecting fragrance in the world, and the longevity is decent; nothing spectacular. The scent is top notch and definitely worth a try -- I'm very surprised to see the negative ratings on this one.

For me this is a really nice fragrance it starts off citrusy and a slight bit of sweetness, then as it drys down the woods hang around, and finally it settles with the benzoin. (Which I enjoy). I get 6+ hours on my skin and more on clothes. Alberto, always does a good job. It’s not a beast but it performs great for date, office, or places like church. You can’t trust just any single review, look at the averages. Everyone’s skin is different, plus how many sprays and where are you spraying. I have many other designer fragrances that perform worst than this on my skin and spray patterns, to name one D&G The One EDT.

For the people that want character buy Rasasi Hawas Atlantis. This is honestly a very nice smell, sweet woody aromatic green. Not sickly sweet or sharp. It is very non offensive and it's also not heavy on the wood. I would even say it smells classy. I finished my bottle and I just can't help but give it a good review after the nice experience. It's also quite a relaxing smell. I don't understand why it's getting any hate for not being unique I personally haven't smelled anything exactly like this for a cheaper price otherwise I would buy 10 bottles. Literally i would.

If I could interpret this composition the way my love does, it would be the top. How good this perfume is! 'Wood Essence' evolve into something unique and different every time he wears it. Sometimes it is marine, I think it's the cypress with citrus zest that makes me feel it like that. Unpredictable. Very fresh, aromatic, the woody side is there but I have to discover it little by little, sniffing the skin very closely, patiently, making my way through the sweetly resinous notes. A superb reinterpretation of Bvlgari Man that I greatly appreciate!

My husband and I dabbled with a scent subscription for a while, and he has this. I'm really surprised to see that the ratings aren't higher, but I'm not a guy I guess 🙃 It's opening is really nicely citrus and fresh, but it dries down to a lovely woody musk with plenty of cedar. We're from the PNW, and the cedars are beautiful. I find this really laid-back, sexy, but not try hard. It makes me want to snuggle my dude. The overt bad boy stuff is really fun, but this smells like a husband who can adventure with you for life, I love it!

In my opinion, the bottle and color is pretty off-putting. It looks like some green monster inspired Halloween prank juice. Smells super nice though. I got a sample of this for free with an order, so I was excited to try it since I never saw myself interested in this one due to the bottle and color. At first smell, I was pretty drawn in. It is sweet, citrusy, and woody, but the woodiness is not overpowering. I am a fan of this one. Dare I say that it is "unique" since nobody seems to really talk about this one often?

This is one of my top colognes, I receive lots of compliments from the ladies and I love its sweet citrusy/low woody masculine smell. The other day I was in a lecture and one of my friends was sniffing me every-time I walked past her 😂 you could literally see her nostrils widening. The cologne last moderately long with a sweet die down and had a pretty good projection, if you're near somebody they'll smell it. If your looking for a masculine sweet cologne that isn't intoxicatingly sweet this is the one for you.

Gorgeous fragrance. I expected more wood when i first saw this fragrance but that is not the case. Citrusy opening, mostly bergamot, which dries down into a beautiful powdery shower gel-esque smell. Gotten so many compliments with it but that is only when people got close to skin. Atrocious projection and average longevity. If the projection and longevity were not so bad i would bathe in this scent daily. One of my favourite smells, shame it doesnt last Smell 10/10 Longevity 6.5/10 Sillage 2.3/10

Just bought this perfume and love the sweet woody smell. You don't really smell the top notes bergamot but straight away to the Fresh woody scent heart notes its just tingling in your nose like a sweet dessert that you want to eat. I too don't understand the hate on this lovely fragrance. as a fraghead i admire this type of scent. Safe to wear casual, outdoor, indoor, Office(open area type of office room), events festival would be fine. Scent: 8/10 Performance: 7/10 Projection: 7/10 Silage: 6/10

Bvlgari has really outdone itself with this fragrance. It is perfect for everyday wear, with a soft and inviting scent that is not overpowering but still manages to get noticed. The rounded edges give it a nice personal touch, making it a great choice for the office. Best of all, it's versatile enough to be used in any weather, whether it's hot or cold outside. One thing to note is that the scent might remind you more of lemon candy than wood essence, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Love at first sniff. I don't know why this isn't highly rated. I bought it at full retail with no regrets, I just couldn't wait to have this in my collection for the turn of seasons. I'd describe this as fresh, but the citrus is muted. Mainly you get a sweet green herbal amber accord that is to die for. It almost comes off as an aquatic to my nose. It just smells so classy to me. It goes toe to toe with some of my favorites (Prada Amber Pour Homme). I'm so excited to have this for spring.

This is one of those perfumes that really grows on you as time goes by. When I first bought it, I was a bit disappointed, didn't really love it and thought it was kind of forgettable and subtle. I usually enjoy more 'in your face', heavy, rude and loud scents with big projection and sillage. But I'm slowly beginning to appreciate this gentle, friendly but very masculine scent. Subtle and non invasive with light projection, safe for work or even gym and layers well with other stronger EDPs

Signature worthy fragrance. This smells unique, refined and premium. Its straight up a Sugar Daddy fragrance very suitable for a fancy party and suits. The opening is amazing with the smoothness of the citrus which slowly fades away into woody musky masculine masterpiece. I gifted it to my Dad and he loves it, no brainer blind buy, just on a little expensive side. Performance is good : lasted 6 hours on my skin (becomes a skin scent post 2 hours). Atomiser can be a little weird.

idk why this rating only have 3.9, for me this fragrance has great longevity as a fresh fragrance, complimented, masculine fresh and an uplifting scent. since I bought new fragrances and this fragrance becomes long rotation and macerates monthly, it gains greater performance such as scent, projection, and longevity, my first bottle hasn't empty yet because I don't want to buy new and macerate it for months. this fragrance ages just like fine wine !

My Mrs likes this scent profile. It's costly at the stores thou $196sgd. It opens ok and then becomes kinda woody. It's a safe scent I'll say be it for office or meetings or outdoors. Just need more nozzles to get some heavier performance across. Its also a scent that no one will dislike or hate. More matured scent I'll say. Overall good for men of most ages but not too young probably.

When I first sprayed this on, I wasn't impressed. After 10 minutes, it came into its own and really impressed me. This is a day perfume, for the winter/fall seasons. You can also get away with it in the early spring. I think the length of time that the perfume lasts is good. This is a manly scent and will draw some compliments as the day progresses.

One of my favorite synthetic woody scents, or atleast for me anyway. The benzoin is loud and stays the whole time but getting the mingle of everything throughout that process definitely keeps it nice and fresh. Underrated Bvlgari fragrance right here. I get a good 4-6 hours longevity and like an initial hour and a half or so of sillage I can notice.

My absolute favorite day-to-day scent on my partner. Avoids smelling like aftershave/axe which is loathsome to me, but is fresh and woody. My partner loves the smell of cypress and cedar, so this was a perfect gift for him, and lasts such a long time! He hasn't even gone through half a bottle from last christmas and wears it several times a week.

Honestly, it sticks to my skin for q at least a day, lasting is eternal. Silage is good, projection is enormous, it performs so well in cold climate. The overall creamy richness of amber with a perfect blend of woody and subtle citrusy notes makes it a perfect wear for all sort of occasions.

smells great with candied citruses up top and cypress-benzoin combo when dries down. if this lasted about 2-3 hours longer, would pay any amount for this. if you don't mind the performance that much (i get about 3 hours) this will be a solid addition for everyday wear in spring.

I have lost faith in this one and havent used it for months because of lack of perormance, then I layered it with iso e super (Molecule 01). It miraculously increased the performance, I can still smell it after a day! Now this is my favourite scent again.

I love this fragrance. The smell gives me peace, and I feel sharp. However, the projection is not strong, I would say actually very weak, and you need to spray it a lot in order to give a strong impression. The scent lasts for several days on clothes.

"Bvlgari Fresh Laundry Essence" there, I fixed it. In all seriousness, I have no idea why they called this one wood essence when there's hardly an essence of wood, let alone any focus of wood. Still, this stuff smells amazing, so I don't mind...

@kingkassius, performance of this scent is outstanding, you are not outlier. The issue is it's extremely easy to get ansomic to it, and that's why people rate it as a bad performer. This juice has no performance issues whatsoever!

A Perfume which is unique , and has a great scent to the nose and a good sillage. Lasts long and maybe about 5 sprays and it rests well. price point could be lower but it's acceptable for the Quality. overall it's all Great.

My favorite woody fragrance. It's so elegant and well thought. It reminds me of a juicy sweet version of encre noir. Really masculine, with all essential aspects fulfilled: moderate sweet, fresh and extra woody.

This has been my go-to scent for the last 6 years. I'm a sucker for citrus scents and the woody notes add to the depth. Not the greatest longevity but besides that it's in my top 3.

A refined classy scent that is so versatile it could be an everyday signature for all seasons apart from possibly very high heat

is a nice smooth sweet woods. decent sillage with good longevity. is subtle and somewhat relaxing imo.

Remove the pineapple and coconut from Le Beau le Parfum and you get this. Very good masculine scent

So i bought the 60ml one yesterday i quite liked it. Its a fresh and sweet scent (odd but it really do smell like that for sure and by saying citruses with sugar i think this was what they meant by that ) but it has a subtle woodines in it, its quite unique scent too imo. I think this is a scent to wear in fall and spring in day time, i think it does have a signature fragrance potential buttt.. The performence sucks guys its actually terrible. The longevity is somewhat moderate i should say but the sillage is like almost non existent. The first 30mins-1hr max it projects ok with the fresh opening but after that it becomes a skin scent. The scent is very good and different but the performence is pretty bad also the name is quite misleading too the wood notes are very laidback. Its definetely not enough to be called wood essence. Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 2.5/10 Scent: 7.5/10

Normally I don't go for hyper masculine and mature-smelling fragrances, but this is one of the few exceptions. Plus, Bvlgari is one of my favourite fragrance brands, so perhaps you can say I have a soft spot for whatever they release. Having owned this for a year, I find Bvlgari Man Wood Essence to be really nice. It is unanimously woody and totally, indisputably masculine. It also has a hint of sweetness and addictive spice (i.e. benzoin) to it, which evokes an image of one strolling by a hut in the sequoia forest during sunset. So good! I like this better than the neroli flanker, though again, I'm not a fan of neroli as a note to begin with. l'Eau d'Issey pour Homme Wood & Wood is a close comparison, but that one has a strong nasty ambroxan dry down. Thus, I prefer Bvlgari Man Wood Essence. Perfect for spring and fall, during the day. Recommended age is 30+.

Smells nice but I really wanted to have a bit more cypress or maybe pepper in it. It's a green fragrance but not green enough. Perfect for summer/fall time. It is bright with moderate longevity and silage. One of those fragrances for me that I can identify all listed notes in it. For those who like showergelly type frags this is one of those ones. Definitely reminds me Icon Elite but side by side they are different. Icon Elite is a more enjoyable experience for me. If you have none, then I would highly recommend to get Icon Elite. It has more punch and a longer lasting fragrance with better silage. If you enjoy more quite fragrances that stay closer to skin then this the one for you.

Got an 90% full bottle at a discounted price, for buying FDB New York intense. For purposes of speed, it’s a pleasant but nondescript fragrance. It’s nothing groundbreaking yet pleasant. Another citrus leaning fragrance but one that lasts a bit longer than others. You could compare it to many other citrus frags, it’s not a juicy citrus but more like the rind of citrus. Personally, I get no woody smell, not like I do witness the neroli wood. The nozzle design is probably not helping as it is not always good at dispensing the juice. Not one I’d have bought if not at a big discount but an easy grab, when walking the dog. Lasts well on clothes but not skin. Pleasant enough
