Bvlgari Man

I have a bottle of this that I bought about six years ago and that I think I'll now be taking out service. I've always liked the scent but it's never bowled me over. Not that there's anything wrong with it--it's just never quite been to my taste. I bought this as a spring fragrance but seem to be more drawn to greener scents in that context. Bvlgari Soir remains a favourite on grey spring days and nights and has aged very well--not noticeably changed--in its box on my shelf. Man is a different story. Initially I found it quite thin and floral. The performance has never impressed me. Again, there's nothing wrong with any of that that; I might not expect much else from a spring fragrance and it may also be the mark of a typically understated creation from Alberto Morillas. (I seem to have collected a lot of his creations before ever hearing or seeing the man's name.) From one spring to the next, the scent would lose some of the florals and become perhaps a little darker and anyway more to my taste, with the (clean) vetiver in particular perhaps gradually coming to the fore. I feel as if I may have hit the sweet spot five years in but even then I wasn't crazy about the scent. Another year on, this has gotten to smell like a kind of honeyed vetiver water with only a slight floral component. It's nice enough but it isn't the fragrance I never really fell in love with anyway, so I'm decommissioning my bottle. I don't think I'll be buying another but I still really like Morillas and Bvlgari. Edit: It's July now and this evening I thought I'd give this fragrance another chance (perhaps its last), in case it might be back to its old self. To my surprise, it is. (I find the ozonic aspect really pretty striking again--so kind of bracing in an ambient way that, as well as spring breezes, it makes me think of mint, even though it doesn't smell like mint.) It's hard to tell what lesson to draw from this (I no longer live in quite the same climate as I did when I first used the scent and I've only recently discovered the Bvlgari locking sprayer, so I wonder whether evaporation has played a role) but I suspect this is a fragrance that pretty much goes into hibernation once seasonal temperatures drop below those of a Mediterranean spring.

I'm actually shocked at all the bad reviews on this one. I think this scent is super safe, while retaining uniqueness. I remember YEARS ago walking into a perfume shop in the mall and when the man asks me what kind of scent I'm looking for...I asked him what he was wearing. I'm sure he was a chronic oversprayer (as am I)...but his scent literally filled the room. LITERALLY. I will never forget that. That was years ago when I was probably 19-21 years old. I loved it. I didn't buy it back then as it is Bvlgari afterall and I think at this particular perfume shop (where obviously it won't be amazon / Ebay prices)...it was like $70-$80. Fast forward a few years into my mid 20s after I got more financially stable...I finally bought it as well as the "Extreme" version. And I love them both. Both smell amazing and both last 6-8 hours and even longer on clothing. This scent (in my opinion) is a scent where I cannot differentiate individual notes. I can describe the "accords" but not specific notes. To me it is a mixture of 3 accords. I most definitely smell the woody accord most prominently. Followed second by the green accord. And I smell some florals mixed in but in small quantity. I love this. A GREAT office scent. And it's clean so I can even see it working well as a gym scent. Give yourself two sprays on the neck, a spray on each arm, and a few sprays on the front of your shirt and it will last you about 6-7 hours on your skin and a good 8-12 hours on the fabric. I haven't smelled a scent like this ever and I own hundreds. I could pick this scent out of a sniff line up, blindfolded. Projection - 4 feet or so. Longevity - 6-7 hours on my skin and easily 10 hours when I spray it on my shirt, sometimes longer. Overall Score - 9/10

The problem with Bvlgari Man - you know, Saturday was fragrance shop day, and I was looking for autumn stuff. I sampled Bvlgari Man in Black the other day and was blown away, but thought it too dark for every day office wear. So, I sampled the plain ole Bvlgari Man. It's got a very strong alcohol opening, which thankfully passes after a minute or so - what you're left with is something akin to a body moisturiser with a strong element of honey, which smells very warm on the skin. I'm not sure where the 'woody' notes are supposed to be - everything is so well blended together, it just creates are rather intoxicating and 'different' scent. I said body moisturiser because this really is a skin scent . I don't get any projection out of it. I can literally put on 20 sprays and contort my body or shake my hands in front of the wife, and she'll wince in concentration to catch the scent. THIS, is a snuggling scent. Its for intimate moments. Perhaps if you used it with the shower gel you'd get some projection, or perhaps I'm just the wrong skin type? It worked best lunchtime at the gym - I ran from work to the gym and after about 5 minutes of exercise, there it was. So, maybe its a Summer scent that reacts best to heat - knowing my luck, I'll probably get mistaken and stung by a bee. I love the smell, it just needs more oomph! Not sure I can recommend....I'll have to leave it to you to test...

This is my favorite cool/cold weather formal scent - a clean, complex, woody, masculine line straight to everything I aspire to be. I wear this to work at least once a week, and though I'm more a fan of casual get-togethers with friends than black-tie affairs, the next one of those I attend, this refined, woody-vetyver-amber/honey gentleman will be on the dresser ready to wear well before I've picked out my suit. Yes it has longevity issues - projection is relatively brief but at least on my skin it's detectable 7-8 hours after application. It's pretty affordable so I do go heavy on my "delicate-scent" routine - pulse-points, two on the chest, one on the back of the head and I get pretty good performance that way (a couple of hours of decent projection than 4-6 hours as a skin scent is typical on my skin). This is probably aided by the fact that I wear it almost exclusively with long-sleeves, so that probably helps preserve it a bit longer than if I were wearing it casually. I also like to wear this on my fasting or low-cal days, because I feel like James effing Bond when I wear it, and James effing Bond doesn't get mustard on his cuffs while scarfing down a cheeseburger... thanks, James. Overall I am extremely happy with it and the "Man" bottle that's quite appealing, and I'm exploring the flankers now.

Perhaps I'm somewhat biased about this scent because it's one worn by the most lovely man I know who is somewhat of a rare individual. Quite frankly, to start though, Bvlgari Man doesn't make an independent statement in it's uniqueness or artistic quality. It's decidedly one for mainstream appeal and a great department store fragrance. Also somewhat reminiscent of He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood by DSQUARED2. Opening with fresh green violet leaves and bergamot, Bvlgari Man vibrates with enthusiasm. Just a drop of honey, and this delivers a very faint sweet yuzu/grapefruit accord. Musk interplays and softens the composition a little along with an understated aquatic-root note rather than anything floral or suggestive of lotus. As this fragrance continues to transition, it becomes dry and turns its vetiverious face to the sun, all the while remaining green and aquatic... like fresh, tall timber harvested from a river bank. What remains on the skin is a deliciously infusion of delicately peppered greenery and plush wood. Again, it's not a revolution in fragrance by any means but it manages to make the skin sparkle without upstaging the wearer. Refined, humble, contemporary, ethereal, and most definitely alluring.

Just blind bought this for a steal at a local Marshall's. ( very rare, It was hiding in the back) I like Bvlgari and was surprised it was only 24.99 so i decided what the hell and bought it lol. I wasn't really expecting much, but oh man i can't help but love this frag. Seeing how it's somewhat new and doesn't really have alot of feedback, i'm really glad i found this. Hard to describe, but its slightly sweet with some woods notes way in the back. Reminds me of going to a very high end night club in NYC. I just think this is perfect for any occasion really. It shares some qualities with ADG Essenza, hence it was created by the same person. Performance so far is good, i don't see why everyone is saying the longevity sucks. You have to understand its hard to judge longevity for scents like this one. Although you may not be able to smell it anymore ( probably due to applying to close to your nose) others around most definitely can in most cases. Besides, no one wants to smell you across the room anyways. Maybe spray once on your clothing for more lasting power and avoid your neck to keep from getting olfactory fatigue. Boom. Great scent and worth checking out while its somewhat under the radar.

This is a perfume created in 2010, and it was a phenomenal fragrance for men. Only Bleu de Chanel Chanel was better and more popular. You could have all the designer perfumes, and still this fragrance was different from: hermes, Armani, chanel, versace, dior, prada, etc. Not typically citrusy, not aquatic, not salty, not green, not herbal or peppery as it usually was. so guys unblock your noses before you start judging perfumes. it's not a fragrance that was supposed to be strong like Le male etc. it was something new in that era, not another oldschool vibe frag. it's a daytime perfume, It has a lightness, brightness, sweetness but kept in a masculine modern aura I liked it in the warmer months because there was no problem with overspray it doesn't project heavily because it's subtle, like ysl l'homme which is why so many people described it as good for the office etc. While the rest of the people wore typical cologne, this perfume was impressive. I don't know if it's just me, but I usually had to wait 5-10 minutes before it settled down to enjoy in my opinion, the bottle could be white and called man in white I am now looking for the extreme version to bring back memories.

There's something about this perfume very intriguing for me since first spray. I love how it makes me feel fresh, but not summery fresh, and smell good in the morning and afternoon. This goes well in and off the office. I agree with one of the comment below, it won’t make you smell outstanding, but it will definitely makes you smell good. For the citrus smell comparison, I would categorized the citrus smell in this juice smell and feel like Versace eau Fraiche (VeF), however in VeF the citrus smells solid throughout it lifetime from middle to base, while in Bvlgari Man the citrus smell airy or ozonic which make it more appealing and turns into a little bit honey sweet which makes it settle down with just a hint of sweetness. The low down is : - First spray might be a little harsh (too citrusy) but this just for seconds - Silage, Projection and Longevity is average and sometimes low, you have to do more amounts of spray to make this noticeable. 3 words to describe it... I LOVE it... I found it hard to get the same pleasant citrusy perfume replacement.... in other words....I want Bvlgari Man with stronger SPL.

Very classy and business like fragrance. This is perfect for the office in a climate controlled area. Clean, slight spice nuance with a floral and tea like substance that goes into a semi cold like wood feel to it perhaps from the Violet and I love this aspect of. It gives off vibes of being well put together and absolute professionalism. It gives a presence of self confidence, maturity and just being balanced. Nothing in the notes stand out as being more significant over other notes. Just a superbly created and balanced fragrance that is modern, contemporary and still manages to have a slight traditional side to it. It’s light and airy without an ounce of heaviness nor suffocating aspect throughout the life of the fragrance. It lets everyone else know that you are there, quietly yet steadfast without having to appeal to get ones attention or admiration. It does it subtly with conviction and just pure class. Love this juice and this is not for the boys sad to say. This is for men of substance, character and of good disposition & temperance. Not perfect but, Bvlgari Man is really, really good.

a realy GENTLEMAN, not for teenager. one of the best perfume for any occasion . clean, fresh and light, sensual and masculine for 4 season. good for signature scent. very nice mix of bergamot + violet leaf + vetiver and a little honey. sillage & longevity is moderate. 7/10 ................................. عطری بسیار خوشبو از طراحی بزرگ بنام آلبرتو موریلاس ترکیب ترنج، بنفشه، وتیور و عسل رایحه ترنج و بنفشه در این عطر کاملا مشهوده و عسل رو میشه بصورت خفیف در پس زمینه حس کرد ضمن اینکه وتیور اینجا حس و حال خاکی مانند به عطر میده این عطر بسیار خنک، فرش و کمی ترش باز میشه و در ادامه تلخ و خاکی و گرم میشه ازون دسته عطرهایی هست که کاملا مردونس، کاملا. در دقایق ابتدایی پخش بوی بسیار خوبی داره اما متاسفانه خیلی زود افت میکنه و ضعیف میشه و ماندگاری هم با ارفاق متوسطه بشخصه علاقه ای به نوت نهایی این عطر ندارم برعکس تاپ نوتش که فوق العادست

Revisiting this fragrance after initially understanding and embracing it, I now want to relate my adoration. This is truly a one of a kind aromatic blend that carried into many excellent flankers. Let's be honest, some people love chocolate some don't. This combination of notes seems to hit my nose like few other great fragrances have. This to me is really a stand alone masterpiece! What I find odd are reviews that it is mostly floral. There is a sharp, medicinal herbaceous hypnotic scent as if yarrow or wormwood was crushed between your fingers in the heat of the summer sun. Elegantly softened by gentle woods and salty spices, a fragrance no one would mistake. This must have come from a Greek myth; wafts rising in the haunts of Circe; daughter of sun and ocean. Something magnificent amongst so much artless sugar and dust.

Why is it that fragrances that are close to the skin are 'safe for the office' like you couldn't wear this scent and go clubbing? Let me tell you something friends, Bvlgari Man is one of the best fragrances out there. It's complex, peppery, and incredibly well balanced. No need for enormous and ridiculous projection. Someone please prove to me that a woman can smell your cologne across the bar and is somehow drawn to you and I will give you my car. Smart men know it's you who draw the woman in, she catches your scent when you lean in, she becomes intrigued and comes in closer to get a better smell. Boom! you win. The Drakkar Noir/ Cool Water sillage from across the room types need not apply. This is an EDT for men who are confident and don't need to scream 'LOOK AT ME' because likely they already are.

For a long time after purchasing Bvlgari Man, I couldn't identify the single top notes. I don't get the flowery notes in this at all. Reading the experts on here made it crystal clear. ISO E Super. It has the woody, amber, aquatic, and masculine sweet pencil-shaving notes from the synthetic chem that are not bad in any way. The drydown reveals a slight sandalwood, aqua, manly-citrus, fresh vetiver and woody scent that is moderate in longevity. This can withstand multiple squirts because sillage is moderate to low. You won't be in a strong scent cloud. Perfect for the office with airiness and no spice to speak of, the manly freshness is best for warm outdoors. It's definitely worth a blind buy like I did.

I recently rescued a three-quarters full bottle of this fragrance from my day job at a junk removal company along with a couple of others. I considered reselling it with the others but it quickly grew on me. The initial opening reminds me of a warm mug of tea, likely from the strong honey note since I usually drown my tea in honey. The combined vetiver, woody, and floral notes remind me of hiking through the woods just after a rainstorm. This combination of factors has led me to wear this fragrance almost exclusively on cool cloudy or rainy days for its soothing effects. Longevity is average on me, and I've been complimented on it from across the living room of a one-bedroom apartment.

When it first was released I dismissed it for I found it was too weak and too non-descript. Today I revisited this "handsome" scent and thought that it is a really good corporate fragrance, smelling of a sophisticated businessman. I smell paper, pen, documents, money and power. Really distinguished and classy. (or a sexy librarian?) If you want to make an impression in the boardroom or at that all important interview without risking to offend anyone, THIS is the scent I would recommend. Not the right choice for a creative fashion party though, but then again, this scent matches the limo and all that silver and chrome. Definitely the best Bvlgari has delivered for men thus far!

This is an awesome fragrance I had gotten a free sample of. It starts off with a refreshing blast of lotus, witch disappears after 10-20 min after the vetiver, woods, and honey take over. That pretty much is the rest of the fragrance which is a very relaxing scent. It is a slightly sweet and musty woody scent but falls short in projection. After 30 min it stays pretty close and it is pretty much a scent for yourself or close encounters. At times it reminds me of cutting pine (earlier) and maple (later) boards on my table saw. I might pick up a bottle of this in the future (not near future though) for lounging around.

There's nothing to say about the smell. It's really nice. Some say the projection and longevity of Bvlgari Man is great, others say it's weak. On the one hand, I would definitely like the scent to be stronger and longer lasting: as incredible as it sounds, ten minutes after I put it on my wrist, when my nose touches my skin, I sometimes find it very difficult to distinguish the scent. But when my nose is not close to my wrist, I occasionally smell a faint scent, so it has to be there, it has to linger. It's a different perfume for sure

I bought this when it was first released and loved it. Didn’t think it had a lot going on for it, in the performance area. Used it all up and didn’t buy again. Fasterward to this week I got a brand new bottle and I enjoy it even more now. My nose and tastes have become more developed and now I pick up more notes in this. And did they improve this scent?!? Because it projected well and lasted my whole workday in the office. This stuff is rather unique imho. a great suit scent or office scent? Try it!

Bvlgari Man is a citrusy, musky and woody fragrance. Its aroma is very pleasant, it is a fresh, musky, floral fragrance that feels quite elegant, but at the same time it is relaxing and it puts me in a good mood. In the drying, the fragrance has certain warm aspects, but is still light. Bvlgari Man is a fragrance to be used at any time of the year, and for any situation. The only problem I find is its short duration, since it reaches a maximum of 6 hours.

I found in Bvlgari Man a fragrance with a fine, elegant, woody aroma, with some herbal and musky touch. I really liked its aroma, it has been addictive to me, it puts me in a good mood and relaxed, it is one of those aromas that never feel heavy or strong. Many have commented on its low sillage and low longevity and I agree. I also agree with colleagues who suggest it as an ideal fragrance for office work and to be used at any time of the year.

Smells like diamonds under the light, inside a jewelry store. It’s as if you walked into a jewelry store and asked to see some loose diamonds, the jeweler calls you to the back, he moves his adjustable light over to the diamonds and you lean in to look at the diamonds, and that is the smell. I hope this fragrance comes back and all of the Bvlgari man fragrances. I love this fragrance and it is a piece of my life that I love.

Look at all of these reviews. This is NOT a love-it or hate-it cologne. Yes... Blind buy. Without being able to describe the notes, I would say this is an EDT that works well in any situation. Gentle, soft, yet bold enough to state your presence. This is one of my most-complemented fragrances I own. Ok, yeah, chicks dig it. Boys too. Try it if you want to be a magnet. Mmm.

one of my favorite perfumes ever... is it discontinued? you can rarely find it here in argentina. To me, it's the perfect "office" perfume... Its elegant, subtil, clean... the kind of "i want to wear perfume but nothing loud or crazy"... I agree with the longevity and sillage comments but also... thats the way it should be?

I love this fragrance. Masculine and Sophisticated with a Clean, Fresh & Woody smell. The longevity is brilliant on me with just a few sprays; more than 8hrs. My all day and anytime fragrance. I wore it to a wedding recently and received many compliments from the women. Strong but not Overpowering at all. 8/10.

I tested this today for the first time and I could swear it smells just like CdG's Wonderwood. Both were produced in the same year by excellent noses (AM & AL). Coincidence, or just two brilliant minds tapping into the same perfume stream of consciousness?

A solid, versatile fragrance you can wear anywhere, any time of day. Inoffensive and not overpowering yet with enough character to not blend into the background. It may not be a niche fragrance but it's good value and Bvlgari make great scents.

To add....Definitely grows on you and is superbly blended in my opinion. On me, Bvlgari Man is a citrus and honey juice with floral and woodsy undertones. Longevity and silage are good. This really is, a gorgeous and luxurious fragrance.

A very fresh and pleasant fragrance. There is a distinctive honey with a floral accompaniment. The violet is there too especially in the opening. Bvlgari Man is definitely classy. This grows on you and I love it - it's really beautiful.

One of my favorite colognes out there. So woody but not strong, fresh but not sheer, lasts a good while. I think of birch trees and moss, amber and honey, it's just so good. Highly recommend.

Oh boy, this one is special for me. I had it and loved the citrines + wood it had. It is like smelling a tree trunk in a forest after a summer rain. Absolutely lovely.

Just tried this in Boots (UK store) A soapy, spicy and LOVELY scent that lasts. It's definitely a really clean gorgeous fragrance. Going to buy some when funds allow.

Classic scent. Great on my skin. Pretty versatile. More of a manly feel. Vetiver and woods, but slightly sweet or flowery as well in the base to round it out.

Bvlgari Man EDT opens with a moderate projection of mostly, citrus, ozonic and woody notes. The opening is unique, moderately projecting, the notes feel dense, well-blended, and very pleasant. The bergamot, lotus, and violet leaf open the fragrance; the bergamot is not intense, just a light opening citrus touch; on the other hand, the violet leaf and lotus are noticeable, they create an aquatic, light, airy, fresh, and cucumber-like accord, which gives the fragrance its ozonic and aquatic character. The pear, which is listed as an opening note, has unnoticeable participation.
