Day 66 - Familiar Listening to: Florence + The Machine - Heavy In Your Arms Notes: I cannot believe how simple this fragrance is - it's a five note wonder, but it is undeniably magical! The fume presents a very cool and aloof attitude by expertly juxtaposing the cool scent of a thick black licorice and the suave of a gently smoked tea and vetiver all on a base of decadent white musk with a touch of sweet amber. That's it! This is a very linear fume but it is incredible in its presentation, projection, and longevity (10+ hours)! I wonder if a woman could pull this off as it is temptingly sweet but quite handsome....

Whenever I review male fragrance, I usually start by saying “I’m not the biggest fan of masculine scents” and yes, I’m gonna say it again. I usually don’t reach for masculine scents but ummm I... I like this? Yeah, I do. Well, I LOVE THIS. (But not terribly obsessed !! Just impressed) Ofc, this is leaning more to a masculine scent but somehow it could work as a unisex fragrance. It’s a nice “strong” fresh scent. How contradicting. Strong and fresh shouldn’t be in the same book bc freshies tend to disappear after 10 mins lol but this one’s different. It starts off fresh and dries down to a green and earthy scent that still smells fresh instead of sweaty and patchouli-like. Projection? Unbelievably strong. Longevity? Is it possible for an EDT and freshie to last 5-6 hours? BvlPHS made it possible. Most people say that it smells like tea but don’t be fooled bc this is not an elizabeth arden x wulong cha type of tea—the tea isn’t sweet and citrusy; it’s BITTER. The bitterness gives me the impression of a tea-based alcoholic beverage. Man, does tea and booze even go together? Also, the bitterness gives it a metallic scent to it (or is it just me?) At this point this is a tea cocktail in a metal glass 😭 Idk if people will agree with me but this scent is similar to Tamburins Chamo. Think of it as Chamo’s intimidating, mature, stronger, and darker sibling. Chamo is a freshly steeped chamomile tea; BvlPHS is the concentrated tea resin version of Chamo. Yay another scent has been added to my rotation !! However, I make sure to layer something feminine to tone it down a little. Love it !!

I'd like to start off with an observation that I'm fairly sure others may share; When you use a tester at a store, and even if you spray the fragrance on your skin and walk around for awhile, what you will get is generally Not going to be exactly the same experience you will have when you take it home. You will (on a good day) get something very similar. On a bad day.... Well... Having said that, I always try a frag out first before I buy (when I can) so I at least know what ballpark I'm in. And having said that, I was very impressed with Bvlgari por homme soir at the store. I thought the four notes in this particular frag we're very well balanced. With only four notes, each note makes a significant contribution to the fragrance. What I found with the bottle I purchased, was that the balance was shifted a little from what was in the tester This isn't the first time I've had this type of experience. But I really do like this frag. It does have a sophisticated and pleasant Aura about it, and it's all still there, just a bit different (a little less Amber) than I expected. In fact I've come to really enjoy the blend I've purchased. This is still a very well balanced and compelling fragrance, which lends itself to being a very versatile yet satisfying addition any frag wardrobe.

i have to admit. i have never really tried a tea based fragrance. this is actually a really clean and green yet sweet fragrance. such a simple yet classy scent that uplifts the wearer. if you have ever enjoyed a good cup of tea this might be a fragrance for you. it's like being in a room of fresh green tea and some sugar on top. it last quite a bit of time and just makes you feel happy. like your in touch with nature. four simple ingredients that mesh together very well. the tea gives it an earthy feel that blends into the papyrus and bergamot for that green feel to it and rounds out with amber. the amber i believe is what coats it with sugar on top. overall this is a winner. longevity last for a decent amount of time. 6-8 hours or so. the sillage fades rather quickly. i say it had a good scent trail for a couple hours. then became a skin scent. and it is a good quality perfume. i would rate this 6.5 maybe even 7 out of 10. tho it might not be your cup of tea. it sure has become mine. ** these are just my humble opinions. I absolutely love this one. @Nawal.Ansari's review below totally nailed it. "The sophisticated linen shirt of my fragrance wardrobe." - That's the perfect way to describe this scent. But I disagree about performance, I actually get a strong-moderate amount of projection from this one, in spite of its soft scent. The papyrus note is perfect for work, an interview, or any time you're afraid of wearing something easily distinguishable or at all disagreeable. This is probably one of the LEAST disagreeable scents in my entire wardrobe, along with Vince Camuto Eterno, and Zirh. You'll just plain be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't like it or who would ever complain about it. This is the only Bvlgari scent I've felt compelled enough to buy, even passing up Bvlgari Man In Black for $15. This one runs a bit more (about $30-$40 for 3.4oz) but unlike other Bvlgari scents I've experienced, this one is worth having for me!!! If you're looking for a soft work-safe scent, this should definitely be on your list to try.

I may have reviewed this a few years ago. I've felt the urge to review it now as I'm coming to the end of my bottle. Historically this has been one of my favourite fragrances. I love the beautiful, borderline-fusty, green-vetiver-like papyrus note. It smells like a bookshop full of lovely new books and does a beautiful job of lending depth to what might otherwise be too stridently fresh a tea note. I can almost see both ingredients in my mind's eye when I apply this. To me it's a superb green scent for damp spring/autumn days and a masterclass in clean, simple perfumery. The thing is, it is so sparse and its few notes are mostly so distinct from one another that I find it almost embarrassingly simple to wear. I seem to be drawn to fragrances more complicated than this (if only because most fragrances are) but there isn't much better for an instant spritz of freshness on a damp cool-season day. The performance is great too.

Bvlgari pour homme soir is a superb, refined and elegant edt sadly discontinued. Nice blend of florals, musk, tea and papyrus. Sexy but not aggressive, mysterious but not dark, elegant but not too serious; bphs is so classy that shines over the current offering in the stores. I get some similarities with Midnight in Paris by van Cleef and Arpels: in soir the tea note is more prominent, in the other u can find a smooth leather touch. They are similar, not identical but play in the same league. Average performance, good for every season but summer, fits better for people over 30. A Little jewel! This is how evening fragrances should be. Not those powerhouse Eros or le Male. Not those ambroxan bomb Sauvage or Dylan Blue. THIS is the smell of sophisticated, classy, and masculine evening fragrance. Proof that masculine fragrances can be good without being 'blue.' It's bitter, with lots of tea in it, along with papyrus. Utterly addictive. The moment I smelt the scent coming off the cap, I fell in love. In my opinion, Soir is the best one of the three, though the other two are also very good. Too bad it's not available everywhere. Jacques Cavallier is one of my favorite perfumers. To the reviewer below who bought this off eBay, you may have received a counterfeit. Bvlgari is pretty strict when it comes to quality control of their products. I would encourage you to buy from authorised retailers or Bvlgari shop directly.

Love love love this. Pour Homme Soir has been my summer go-to for three years now and that's saying a lot considering I'm a perfume polygamist who usually favours stereotypically feminine scents. Looking at the notes, it's easy to assume PHS is just another citrusy tea scent - Always nice, but there are plenty of those around and many much cheaper than this. What sets PHS apart from all the others is this fascinating, vetiver-y, almost tangible 'dry' quality (from the papyrus note maybe?) that I find completely addictive. That 'dryness' is what makes this such a great summer scent. It's the perfect antidote to sticky heat and humidity and makes me feel like I'm fresh out of the shower all day long. The sillage is moderate, but the longevity is wonderful. Stays on my skin and clothes until the next wash.

Whenever I smell this, the image of a businessman(of no age in particular) comes to my mind. You guess by now that this is one of my favourite fragrances to wear at work. As you can see in the perfume's profile and reviews, it's a simple perfume with a few fragrance notes, but well made nonetheless. Besides the fresh citrus notes (bergamot, maybe lime too) there's another note, which I cannot identify, that gives it the necessary weight. I can smell a sharp and a bit sour note as well, which reminds me of old books but without that heavy smell. I reckon this would be the papyrus note, a bit pungent (not in a bad way) and sharp, yet still fresh. This lingers for a good while and I would say is the main note of the perfume and the one that differentiates it from other fresh or citrusy perfumes.

There are times when the nose needs a respite from the collision of contrasting notes in your favorite complex perfumes. At times like this, I really appreciate Bvlgari Soir. Papyrus is such an intriguing perfume note. It adds woodiness without the richness or depth of other woody notes such as oud, cedar, or guaiac. Tea and bergamot add to the sparkling top of this fragrance, and it was genius to add warm amber to the base to keep Soir from being too aristocratic or austere while maintaining a sense of class. Accordingly,, the performance is solid but understated, forming a very nice little bubble of sophistication around the wearer. Smells best via sillage rather than directly on skin. If you want something for well-dressed spring/summer occasions, this is definitely a candidate.

What a roller-coaster. Fortunately though, my cousin made me getting it. I was powerful influenced by the smell of this fragrance in first place, back in old days. He generally wore it at work and that's one of the reasons why BPHS always will have a special place for me, my very first purchase! never-to-be-forgotten! This is THE ONE who brought me into the world of perfumes, on this captivating and amazing journey of fragrance families. I absolutely LOVE this one. It has a soft tea spice odor that is very appealing, it is incredibly subtle and soothing, elegant too. More suitable for gents & well-mannered men's! I find this one simply beautiful. I have Bvlgari Pour Homme, Extreme, and Soir. I like Soir the best. The previous two are great, but are a bit sweeter and brighter. Soir just seems more classy and elegant to me. I'm going to start wearing this one at work. I live in Japan, and for some reason, these Bvlgari Pour Homme frags are so popular; selling quickly on apps like Mercari. Perhaps it's the tea note that people enjoy? That's what does it for me. Living in Asia for such a long time has gotten me accustomed to the scent of tea (especially green tea), and Soir is a beautiful creation I can appreciate. Update: Still loving this one. Way underrated. Smells very unique with that tea note and I can see this dressed up at the office or a formal event.

BPH Soir is a very underrated cologne. Amazing though. Despite of being marketed as "Soir" it can be worn during the day as well. The tea note is a monster on my skin, which I love it. It's classy and timeless. It smells expensive, seriously. Any guy from the ages 22, 23+ can safely wear it. This isn't a clubbing scent, on the contrary, it gives you a relaxed vibe type of scent (yet very elegant) and intimate feel. I'd say that BPHS lays on the same shelf as Prada Amber Pour Homme, Hypnôse Homme, Allure Homme Edition Blanche, Burberry Touch For Men and Neroli Portofino - Despite of those being very different from each other they all share the same elegant-but-low-key feel. my first review, an interest in smelling good has somehow turned into an obsession. Not quite two years ago I bought some mens perfume online and it kick started a spending spree in the quest of finding the perfect scent.Concise reviews from almost all members at Fragrantica and 16 bottles later, im unable to decide which one to put on when I open the cupboard, but the one that wife loves most,is this one. I wish I could put into words like a lot of other reviewers do, the notes as they smell them, lots of detail and sometimes with a story thrown in. Anyhow, I am the absolute beginner and thank all reviewers for their helpful opinions.your site has opened up a whole new world to smelling good.

This is a very special fragrance. It is there yet it is not there- it is present without being overwhelming. It is pleasant and reminiscent yet it is unrecognisable in that it is not similar to other fragrances. I find this to be a very pleasant and mysterious scent, perfect for workplace, semicasual or formal oaccsions. The name indicates noir but I would have no inhibition in wearing this during the day. It is not hugely popular so you are unlikely to find too many people wearing this. I have never had anyone correctly guess this scent. Scent: 9/10 Sillage: 7/10 Longevity:7/10 PS- I get a hint of animalistic/pheromonic nuance in this. Anyone else with similar experiences?

I am a girl and I'm in love with this frag! I would make this scent my signature. I have more than 20 women's frags and I can't say I love any women's scent. My ex BF used to wear this and I fell in love with it. Too bad it's hard to find in my small town. I really try to love womens' stuff but it usually give me headache and sneezing. Only woody, fresh scents work for me. This frag very unique and quite unisex. Very classy and elegant as most ppl have said. I can't say what notes I can 'hear' - I usually put my opinion about the stuff in general. I would make Platinum Egoist signature for my BF and this juice - for me ;)

I have to say that for the price it is a very good parfume! I'm a tea drinker so maybe thats why I adore this beauty. Not the best I have but still awsome. You have to wait around 15 minutes when it really starts to work. At the drydown it keeps that greentea awsomeness to the end. The longevity is around 7-9 hours on my skin, the projection is moderate, and I think in case of a green smell, maybe its better that its not an in your face monster. I recommend it on colder weathers or nights, but I didnt try at warmer times. Maybe it will work there too, I don't know. For me its an 8/10.

After i read the review, i drcide to try this perfume. At first, i fifnt smell anuthing, which quite confused me, but slowly a green notes and the smell of fresh tea ( somehow i kinda smell it like jasmine green tea) emerge, gollowed by the mixed of something citrus smell. Pretty relaxing, soft make me happy. If u need a relaxing fragrance, this is it, it is kinda sweet smelling also, from the amber maybe. The silage is pretty good, 6.5 oit of 10, i would say, people can smell it within your scent bubble. Performance is 7 out of 10, bit the perfume smell is 10/10 for me.

BPHS is a hidden, subtle, and classy fragrance. Very simple ingredients but show depth and class. Fresh smell, I find it so office friendly. It is actually my top 1 office fragrance. Lasts well for 6 hrs with good sillage for the first hour, sits close to skin for the following hours. This was not a blind buy for me, but it really is a “blind-buy” safe in my opinion. It can easily be pulled as a signature scent. Versatile with all seasons, day and night. My wife loves it so much that she bought me another bottle for birthday while I still have a half-filled bottle.

This is my first fragrantica post and I can't help but to compliment this perfume! I'm a 20 year old lady and my boyfriend's in his late 20's and I smelled this on him and immediately fell in love with it! It smells like a handsome, sexy, rich and successful guy! It does not intimidate you or a type of in-your-face perfume. It just has its natural charisma and sex appeal. Doesn't seem too guy perfume and very unisex. I got one for my self, too. this was a favorite of mine a long time ago , i revisited it and im pretty happy with it. it just needed a little bit more tea for my taste so i got a black tea accord from perfumers apprentice and it goes perfectly with this. anyway by itself, this perfume is like a creamy citrus / tea /paper... at times the citrus reminds me of sorbet ice cream,something is making it a bit creamy. it is a woody floral musk type thing. not hugely complex, if it had more black tea and maybe more papyrus i think it would be closer to perfect

I'll just gonna be straight up and state that I LOOOOOVE THIS PERFUME <3 I gave it as a present for someone very close to me and it has everything a man need in a perfume; a great sexy masculine scent, noticeable in a safe distant without being too much, stays all day (he literally sprays it after he gets out of shower in the morning and i can still smells it in the evening when he got back). Very recommended, totally falls in love. I even wanted to find a miniature or a vial so I can carry it around <3

This is my first review on fragtica. On first spray I feel fresh with tea and bergamot and after that 15min I can catch a lot of citrusy but blend with tea. At the heart , papyrus make it green powdery and woody. This heart make me love with this stuff. So on the base, amber make it sweet but musk make it clean smoky. I dont know how to describe. But I can tell you,rich,elegant,sophisticate,sensual. Less but more is really good to defining this colonge. Sorry for my word. I'm thai.

Had this when I was a younger lad and lost it in a move. Randomly thought of it again and decided to seek out a bottle. Its pretty hard to find now and costs a pretty penny but its worth it. Beware though theres alot of fakes out there. This is a great work or signature scent. Also great for summer nights. A beautiful maculine, mature, fresh tea scent that doesnt over do the tea. Modern yet classic, fresh yet dark. Sophisticated and sexy. Cant believe I ever forgot about it.

Has anyone heard about discontinuation on this one? Either it's no longer being made or it's enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and the discounters can't get their hands on large batches of it any more. The price for 100ml was in the USD 30s-40s a couple of years ago but it's really jumped up of late. Update: Bvlgari is still listing it so I guess it looks like it's still being made but perhaps at greatly reduced quantities.

The best Bvlgari. It has the same transparency as Eau de Cedre with its sheer smooth silkiness, but as it dries down it becomes rougher around the edges and very classy. A bit smoky, earthy and woody while still remaining clean all at the same time. Theres more notes to this one, like vetiver, cedar, incense and possibly some patchouli. Could easily be an all season juice, but would work best in the fall. I love this one.

Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir is perfect for the days you are not looking to make a statement. You just want to spray some juice (because leaving the house unscented would be like leaving butt naked) and smell nice. Pleasant scent, versatile, simple, classy, office-friendly, considerably cheap, and distinctive. If you want to stand out this will not do, but if you want a safe, polite, and unique scent, Homme Soir delivers.

This was one of my favorites circa 2014. I loved it so much. I've got some really good memories with it. From what I can remember, I think it also has some really calming cozy effect. It's also sexy for sure. However, the price nowadays is just ridiculous - discontinued or not. It's just not worth $160 imo. I'm now on a hunt for a calming cozy tea based male or unisex scent that is reasonably priced.

Amazing fragrance that strikes so many perfect balances. Not strong, but persistent. Classy, but not stifling. Fresh, but not generic. Masculine, but not overwhelmingly so. Linear, but so well-blended that it doesn't matter. I could go on and on but I'll leave it at that. If you're looking for a clean, fresh, green fragrance that can be dressed both up and down, this is what you want.

Great tea focused scent that can be a year round daily driver, especially in an office setting It has a wonderful opening that dries down to a very green and masculine profile. Safe for any season but excels in the Spring and early Summer. The only downside is that it is very expensive if you can find an authentic bottle. People I know say it reminds them of Imagination.

2 words...Lady killer. No matter where i'm at I get the "you smell great" or "That's a sexy scent what is it?" A lot of guys ask what i'm wearing too.. And I gotta be honest.. Understated, elegant and so refreshing. Great for work, travel and those carefree evenings. One of the few scents I have an emotional connection with, it just instantly calms me and puts me on smiley face mode. Despite having somewhat medium projection and somewhat moderate sillage - it is a gem. Sucks that it is available next to nowhere.

I always receive a lot of compliments when I wear this. It's definitely one of my favorites in my collection. It open when that classic tea note, then transitions into a smooth dark musk. It just smells terrific to be honest. I could see it as someone's everyday signature however I believe it should be savored and appreciated. 8.5/10

This is my killer fragrance, I've been using so many fragrance but this one always gives me confidence and bring me compliments. can smell the tea right after you apply it, moment later you can smell the dark and elegant scent that will loved by everyone. Especially in my office. A buy for sure. Gonna buy a third bottle of it!

its green ! well done Bvlgari, for what i've smelled so far, this one is the best Bvlgari by far, period. Scent : 9 out of 10 = Lovely scent ! calming Projection : 8 out of 10 = not bad on my skin, everyone near smells me Longevity : 8.5 out of 10 = get 6-7 hours on my skin easily. Overall : Buy / try / pass : it's a BUY !

Clean and fresh. Soir is a solid fragrance with decent performance. The blend of citrus and herbal notes is a pleasant scent and crowd pleaser. Projection and performance are acceptable with versatility for all seasons/occasions. Definitely worth adding to your collection. Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting.

Excelent scent, women and girls love it, so sexy i get lot of compliments. Fresh, masculine, wear it mostly on night and spring/summer. Silage and longevity not the strong point but ok is a summer edt so not reallυ a problem. But the scent is sooo good! Scent 10/10 Silage 7/10 Longevity 6/10

A warm season, humid scent. Sexy in the same way "Declaration" by Cartier is. They need to make this into an eau de parfum, or some concentration where it lasts and projects more. If it did, it would be up in my top 5 favorite fragrances.

Lighter, sweeter casual chilled-out version of the Extreme. Very easy on the nose. It would be hard for someone to dislike the scent. I personally prefer the extreme version for its bitterness. Regardless, this is a nice scent.

Inoffensive and subtle with a pleasant tea note, perfect if you wanna smell good but not stand out too much. Lasts about an hour on my skin with strong projection and dies down to a skin scent for about 4 hours afterward.

This is an extraordinary perfume with light floral notes in noticebly marked tonka bean and iris scent... I was bought it for my brother, he liked it very much but "I" would used it myself if i wasn't ashamed:))

Great classy and masculine scent. I got the tea and amber note. i used it for dates. Can be used for daytime too because it's not that strong. last for 7 hours. but not projecting too much.
