Falkar

One of my favorite fragrances that you might find in a nice mall, especially from a well known designer house like this. I see that many disagree with the other who have said this, but even before I looked at the "reminds me of" section I immediately remembered The Voice of the Snake by Gucci. This fragrance is a little more dry and a little more oud forward, and as such I actually prefer this to voice of the Snake. But the character of the oud in these two fragrances is similar. Voice of the Snake certainly had a louder and larger accompaniment, something sweet hiding in it and floral. Falkar is more oud forward and I would say maybe a bit smoother which may be in part because of the frankincense. The dark musk combination in this fragrance sits nicely underneath the fuzzy warmth of the spices and the oud, the smokey cypriol with the frankincense which make a pseudo incense accord that leans creamy rather than smokey, and saffron. I absolutely love this fragrance, being somebody who loves a true oud and doesn't like traditional blue fragrances, this is a nice find for me that I was able to smell out on display at Dillard's. I rarely find fragrances like this that I really enjoy in stores like that. In summary if you like dark, smokey creamy incense, oud, and spices, and if you like to smell masculine and strong and mature, elevated, wise, etc, this may be a good fragrance for you. It's probably not going to be a blind buy kind of scent, unless you know you love oud.

One of the best dark musk fragrances ever, regardless of cost or using synthetics or naturals. There's cinnamon and nutmeg listed as topnotes, but they're not topnotes in the conventional sense, they're around for the duration, like everything. It's not linear, but the changes are subtle. Frankincense, Jasmine and Saffron make up the heart and leather, oud and musk base. Like many Le Gemmes, the saffron and leather notes are mostly from a high dose of safraleine, and the dark musk accord that's prominent in Falkar is ubiquitous throughout the lineup to some degree. Frankincense is another common thread in the Le Gemmes, and is also used here in a moderate amount, in some Le Gemmes it's a main note. The oud has some Borneo brightness and also some rubbery facets. The musk is probably the best synthetic deer musk accord I've experienced, up there with or better than Puredistance. The whole comes together in a complex, spicy, woody black musk fragrance with little to no sweetness. The closest comparisons are Morillas' Gucci Guilty Absolute and Kilian Dark Lord. If you like those, Falkar is a similar in character but even better.

This is by far one of the longest lasting and projecting fragrances I own. I sprayed both this and Amouage Epic Man on seperate cards in my bedroom and left them. For the first few days, Epic was still dominant and could be smelled when I walked in. However, they eventually faded but even 4 days later or more, Falkar's sillage still lingers in my bedroom from being sprayed once on a card and left on the dressor. And the dresser is in the opposite corner of the door, so It wasn't just when walking by the dresser that I smelled it. My only warning is that this does have a fairly strong animal musk edge to it. So, for people who aren't accustomed to the old style fragrances that used a lot of it, it will be an acquired taste. And by animal musk, I mean more in the category of a civet type scent, but darker and done incredibly well (compared to others that just smell like animal urine - as my co-workers said about Vetiver Guerlain - sorry Guerlain).

Damn this is another absolute banger from the Le Gemme line, Cavallier is just flexing his master perfumer status now. Falkar opens sweet and hot spicy with a realistic pairing of nutmeg, cinnamon and some unlisted citrus giving it a textured sharpness, the opening is slightly unusual and very enigmatic, it doesn't provide any clue about the direction the fragrance will take, it can be polarizing but it effectively captures the attention of anyone who experiences it. The drydown is a stark contrast to the open, the sweet spicy sharpness is replaced with billowing clouds of incomparable smoothness and refinement. Layers after layer of creamy musks, the fluffiest suede leather and velvety woods unfurl to compliment and soften each other further, leaving an aethereal yet substantial masculine composition which is highly intriguing and very very pleasant.

After wearing for a few days, I decided to re-review it. Just like it says of itself, you have two notes here: Dark woods and black musk. The dark woodsI would describe as agarwood/oud, but with more of a focus on the wood itself (and slightly charred by fire), not the oud sap. That is the picture I get in my mind. And for black musk, I would describe it as a type of dark smelling civet (a good civet scent). However, everything mixed together also produces a leathery smell. Not a black leather, but more of a tan-colored leather that's gotten extremely hot in the sun. So in the end, very interesting and sophisticated. The musk and oud will make it smell more mature, but also rich. And the scent profile itself does not smell old/outdated despite the use of civet/musk and oud. Definitely strong and long lasting.

Beast mode, animalic woody western Oud! The initial spray is nutmeg, minimal cinnamon. It dries down to Cypriol oil and beautiful saffron. The black musk is present from the dry down through the entire life of the fragrance. After an hour it becomes a green “western Oud” fragrance, with animalic notes that is unbelievably masculine. Longevity is great at 10 hours, projection is beyond 6 feet and sillage is very good. I wore this with chinos, navy shirt to an evening of drinks at a bar, worked perfectly for me. The confidence boost this gives is GREAT! But be aware, you may not receive many compliments due to its animalic, Oud nature. In conclusion, this green, animalic, western-Oud is a great intermediate Oud lover’s scent! Enjoy! Recommend: Buy Rating: 4.75/5

This smells like JoJo’s Steel Ball Run, Diego Brando’s story, from a boy drinking soup from his mother’s burning hands just to survive, to someone with ambition burning so hot, he sets out to take Manhattan then decides to take the whole country, with only his love and trust is for his horse. This isn’t the scent of a prince ruling by bloodline who is indulgent and buy's the loudest smelling perfumes .This is the scent of a conqueror. An ambitious, almost villainous spirit. The smell of someone and a horse and a dream. Muddy yet divine, that reminds you of who you are and where you come from. Even though it smell's rich and elegant, you still smell the mud you came out, that humbles you but still drives you. Absolutely beautiful.

The amount of out of touch reviews on this page is staggering! Ain't no oud here fellas, this is a dry woody sort of fresh fragrance, that I enjoy. Same as other bvlgari private line (like Tygar), it's a decent enough frag that I enjoy and is worth a snag at the right price which is around the 100 euro/dollar mark. If you like dry woody fragrances like GGA, Dark lord and the like you will probably enjoy this. I'd say it's a safer and more easy going. Just like the latter it is one dimensional, not much lore, complexity and magic here so I don't reach for it often, but when I am in the mood for something butch and simple it hits the spot and I enjoy having it in the collection. Definitely not worth the retail!

I really like this one. The Oud is upfront and extremely nice. The leather fills in behind seamlessly giving it body. The combination is fairly strong for the first hour or two. Two sprays to the chest and four around the neck (yes I like to overspray and really get my head into a fog of scent). Afterwards it slowly settles down to a pleasant leather (old used jacket (I get the motorbike references by others) I also get the petrol - nice. I only had a sample which is now gone. So as always the question is whether to buy a bottle? I like it a lot - do I love it? Yes I think I do and if I can find a 60ml with 20% off I will add it. Availability looks good on UK online stores.

Jacques Cavallier's work truly intimidates me. His meticulous attention to detail and masterful blending skills set him apart. Any attar would be incredibly fortunate to have at least one of Cavallier's many successful creations. His perfumes are a testament to his genius. Among them, Falkar stands out as one of the best, if not the best, in the Le Gemme line. It has the depth of Oud, but here it's so smooth and impeccably blended that it elevates the experience beyond that of ordinary perfumes. The Oud in this fragrance is perfect for warmer weather—silky smooth and clean. If given the choice between Oud for Greatness/Neo, or this, I would undoubtedly choose this. 10/10

Dark animalistic and beautiful. I love orientals, but Ouds tend to turn into a sweet cola nut scent on my skin... until I tried Falkar. The musk gives depth and structure. Cinnamon and Nutmeg a touch of spice and sweetness from beginning to end. This is a perfume that starts as elegant aged leather and warms up into sensual and dark resin from the touch of saffron, cypriol oil and olibanum. It feels like the wilder mate to Dyptique’s Eau Duelle. Perfect for day or night, one spray for all day, present but not overwhelming. As a woman, in a suit, it’s a new favorite for me. A masterpiece indeed.

strong - intense. Like I've heard others say, it's a very strong petrol type of leather, with a dark musk underneath (slightly in a civet way, but also in a good way). It has that sun-baked leather vibe. Despite being a strong leather scent, this is more transparent than you might think (not super heavy on the low end). That actually makes this quite enjoyable in the hot sun, which mixes perfectly which it's sun-baked leather vibe. Like getting into a hot, leather car. Yet at the same time this fragrance has a lot of bite to it.

A gorgeous masculine woody musk inspired by the Brazilian falcon eye stone, this is a sexy beast from Bvlgari. The perfume opens with spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. The heart is a rooty cypriol and frankincense. The perfume settles on a base of saffron, musk and oud. Masculine leaning with moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. Another perfume blending masterclass from Jacques Cavallier. The perfume is sophisticated classy animal magnetism from start to finish. Enjoy!

This is how oud should be done. Dry and leathery, but still polished, with that gasoline-y undertone. Requires style and confidence to pull off. But if the scent profile just matches your overall appearance, I find Falkar quite wearable; I wouldn't mind smelling this even in an office environment. Just lasts, and lasts, and lasts on skin. The kind of scent you need to spray a couple times and you're good for the entire day. I'm surprised this hasn't garnered more attention in fragcom!

The Le Gemme range has some hits and misses. Falkar is definitely a hit. Its a leather oud with black musks and some florals. One of the most beautiful masculine sillages I’ve ever experienced. Definitely in my top 10 all time and a strong contender for number one. It’s so good. It projects for hours quite strong and then you still get whiffs of those black musks even 15h after spraying. If you like the middle eastern style leather ouds then definitely check this out. MASTERPIECE

This is nice . Long lasting clean smelling leather. Has a really smooth kind of beautiful soapy oud note that you could inhale and just take in . The best way I can describe it. And I get whiffs of it hours after applying. It’s so good. The bad thing is most of us as collectors can’t justify buying anything to collect dust at that price. I have a few that I found for over $100. But $300? If you want to try it out then wear some for me. It’s really good.

My go-to fragrance, ever since my brother introduced me to it. Falkar is a beautifully complex blend : dark and brooding, with velvety musk, rich oud, a subtle grassy freshness, and a smooth leathery base that ties everything together. It wears like an aura; present and distinctive without being loud or overbearing. In a sea of safe, forgettable fragrances, this one genuinely stands apart. There's nothing else quite like it..

I first saw this on a cruise and fell in love with it. I then saw the price and put it down I received a bottle as an Xmas gift and it's in my top 3 fragrances I've experienced. To me it has an almost sweaty smell but In a good way. We like it to a sphinx cat older. It's not going to be for everyone but that's what I like about it.and I don't think any fragrances can justify a £300+price point but this does smell like money

Dark musk surrounded by medicinal oud and dusty cypriol. I do not know if this is your type but it is surely mine.Middle Eastern interpretation of mystery in fragrance form. I do not know I am the only one, but I get a very strong peppery note from here. Reminds me of Oud for Greatness but more focused on musk and less on oud. If you don't get 10 hours from this, I say it's about your skin rather than about fragrance.

I can't get enough of this fragrance. Never knew I would like oud this much before I smelled this. I've tried Falkar, Onekh and Empyr from the le gemme line so far and Falkar is definitely the best. It's so masculine, animalistic, elegant, bit dark and high class masterpiece. The more time passes, the more it grows on me. Leave your tomford Oud wood and get this to be most unique smelling guy at the bar.

The opening reminds me of Amouage's Journey Man, it's spicy but has some freshness to it tho I'm not sure where it comes from in Falkar (saffron maybe). After that it becomes a dark musky animalic oud fragrance that is in my opinion not too harsh or overtly challenging tho there is some definite skanky oud in it. I don't find it overwhelming but it's not something I'd wear to work or in smaller spaces.

A Bulgari’a take on a dark animalic musk oud. To my nose it is incredibly complex and opulent. However this is done in a way that remains elegant and classic Bulgari like. If you are looking for a higher end version of Bulgaris regular line of fragrances, you need to give this a go... This has to be best from the Le Gemme line, the trail is phenomenal and smells of quality. A must buy for musk lovers

If Dior's Oud Rosewood and Guerlain's Cuir Intense had a perfume baby that grew up to be smooth talking, tall dark and handsome and successful it would be Falkar. This is very high quality leather with oud and it has that touch of medicinal quality to it that both Oud Rosewood and Cuir Intense give but without being overwhelming. It's gives off a very dark mysterious aroma. 9/10

This one is so silky and beautiful in the dry down. The begining is fresh and spicy but the dark musk that develops in the dry down is the deal. I really like it but somehow grew to think it's a bit too grown up for me and gifted it to my Dad. Nevertheless the best le gemme from Bvlgari imo. Very good and easy going yet special smell that you wouldn't find elsewhere.

So addictive, this is one if not the best fragrance by Bvlgari.. I love the perfumer (Jacques Cavallier Belletrud) as he continues to impress me with beautiful creations & scents. This might become your perfect winter smell, only for those who love oriental scents as it’s got the definitely the middle Eastren DNA, Blind-buy this if you’re into Oud.

Sometimes the “this reminds me of” section is so incredibly inaccurate, for example Falkar is compared to Oud Rosewood by Dior. I don’t even see a slight resemblance, this is a lot more about a sharp and spicy oud/leather (which is brilliant) whilst Oud Rosewood a lot more about the Rosewood which smells even resinous in the dry down.

This is an addictive and beautiful woody, oud fragrance that somehow is both dark/gothic and slightly sweet. It’s very unique to my nose, but I put it on the same category as OFG given the saffron and oud combo. For me Falkar is a 10/10 fragrance that oozes masculinity and gives a man confidence that he smells intoxicatingly good!

The best designer oud in the market. Woods, oriental spices, incense and beast mode performance. Something is giving this fragrance fresh udertone, i can not detect what it is, i also detect some leather in the base as well. In the same DNA as matiere premiere - falcon leather but little bit more mass appealing imo

I don't know why it smells like minty musky leather to me. Regardless, this is a masterpiece and quite addicting. The above suggestions that it smells like oud rosewood, onekh & Santal noir are laughable. Falkar is unique and smells so different than everything else. 100% full bottle worthy.

1 word: B E A S T Cypriol oil and Olibanum give it dept and richness to a typical oud leather line. it is very close to Meydan by TSOD. Meydan is greenish as the name suggests. This one gives a very petroleum like feel, in a classy way. super long lasting and projecting.

MASTERPICE Many people in here have said this is one of the best perfumes ever and I can totally agree with them. Oud at its best but Cinammon and nutmeg here gives the whole balance of it. I am so glad olibanum is undetectable because I think it would have ruin it.

Guys I think I have found my signature night time scent. This is one of the best perfumes ever. So bold, so unique, so confident. Not loud, doesn't ask for attention but gets it anyway. This is how the most confident man in the room smells like.

On paper it reminded me a bit of Penhaligon's Sohan, but once it dried down on my skin I realized it smelled 95% like Dior Oud Rosewood. Both are great intense leathery-oud fragrances, but Oud Rosewood is slightly fruitier... and cheaper!

I wore les sables roses today. Couldn’t figure out what that smelled like. It’s Falkar. Must be some rose in here too. There are differences sure. the middle to dry down are very reminiscent of each other. Really similar. Shocking.

Yup, it's a horse stable alright, but I love it. it's so... raw, I don't know why but the more i smell it the more I appreciate it! Not for everyone, but if you like things like Amouage King Blue, you should try this also!

Amazing green oud, smells like the amazon. Really dry, animalic and leathery. Super strong and a compliment beast. Mysterious and unique no one will smell like this around you. Love this stuff.

For me it's just the best of all time. Nothing else like it. Unbelievable performance. Dripping with elegance and class. Now I protect my last few mL with my life.

Great scent! Reminds me of Ombra Lirica by Brunello Cucinelli, although I think this came out first. Scent 8.75/10

My Take on Bvlgari Falkar This perfume opens with a noticeable amount of olibanum, a touch of nutmeg, and a hint of cinnamon. But what really caught me off guard in a good way is this slight animalic vibe that shows up not long after. It’s definitely coming from the mix of oud and musk, and honestly, it was a nice surprise. What also stood out to me is how well the Cypriol Oil is blended with everything else. In the background, I’m picking up some saffron that adds this bittersweet edge to the scent. Overall, it all comes together really nicely. To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations my past experiences with Bvlgari haven’t been great but Falkar genuinely surprised me. I quite enjoy it. It’s slightly animalic because of the oud and musk, but still smells clean and well put together. It’s definitely better than Pur Oud by Louis Vuitton, which was overloaded with amber and ended up being a disappointment. Or the so called Accord Oud from Byredo, where the oud felt totally castrated. Falkar, on the other hand, feels much more complete. It’s easily one of the better “Western oud” perfumes I’ve smelled. I usually lean toward niche scents dark, smoky, leathery, intense and heavily animalic. The image I get when I smell Falkar is of a well dressed businessman in a suit who plays polo in his free time elegant but with a slight relax yet serious composure, which fits the slightly animalic tone of the fragrance. It’s airy and uplifting, yet consistent. Not too sweet, not too challenging (at least not to me), and honestly one of the best options out there if you’re into Western style oud done right. Will I purchase it anytime soon ? Definitely not. but do I like the sample ? Yes.

از اون انیمالیک های قره قروتی،ولی کاملا کنترل شده و دقیق شروع ای بالزامیک و چرمی که تُرشی قره قروتی داره و چاشنی چوبی_علفی هم بهش اضافه کنید به اضافه‌ی یک چوب قطور کُهنه و دود خورده که قبلا بخشی از اون سوخته و بقیه‌اش سالم مونده وسط این هیاهوی نُت های شلوغ و سنگین و چغر،یک وجه کنترل‌گر نیمه خُنک و سبک داخل‌اش وجود داره که اجازه‌ی سرکشی بیش از حد نُت های چوبی_چرمی رو نمیده که از جنس ادویه و شاید هم کمی گلی باشه ولی هم‌چنان حس گُنگ و ناشناخته بودن‌اش برام جالبه برام پیش اومده در کوه نوردی هایی در فصل بهار چنین بویی به مشام‌‌ام برسه گاهی ترکیب بوی تیغاله های سوخته شده با گوسفند هایی که همون اطراف مشغول چرا هستند این بوی چوبی_دودی_آروماتیک رو بسازند در کل یک عطر جسورانه و خاص هست که یک مرد کم حرف و درون گرا رو برام به تصویر می‌کشه -تست شده از نسخه‌ی 2020- **************** scent:7/10 longevity:7/10 sillage:6/10 purchase value:2/10 ******** overall:5.5/10
