Garanat

the most beautiful and magical perfume I've ever smelt. This is what I'd expect Morticia Addams from The Addams Family to smell like, this is what a Vampire & Vampress smell like. As someone who was born in Halloween and grew up loving the gothic and loving Halloween, this the one, this is it, my favorite rose perfume maybe even perfume ever. To all my Vampires & Vampress il try to describe the smell, Imagine the darkest crimson or darkest indigo purplish rose that fell on boiling lava of golden amber, and the rose burning with smoke. It's so dark, and magical. This isn't melancholic roses, like Portrait of a Lady, which is still beautiful, but for me it's too sad and all i smell is the Ghost of the Lady in the Portrait, but it's mostly the Portrait that you can faintly get a whiff of the Lady in the Portrait. But Garanat is straight up Portrait of a Lady, a healthier one that moved on, and is strong and dark. this is Morticia, this is Gomez. Straight up 10/10, the gem collection is hella slept on too.

What Lyric Man aspired to be! Imo, this is the best TRUE rose fragrance for men on the market! The olibanum here only accentuates the manlier facets of rose, but make no mistakes, this is through and through rose! If, like me, you ever sampled Lyric Man, or any rose marketed fragrance for men, and thought them to be too "femme" or not rosy enough, well, not here. A woman will have a challenge wearing this, imo. And that's a lot to say of a ROSE dominant fragrance. To me, this is appropriate for all but the dog days of Summer. And is appropriate for dress up occasions and work, but hey, that's me. Overall, this is a REALLY good, 10/10, fragrance for me. I think, due to the price this is seldomly talked about, but if you like rose or want one of the best rose for men in your collection, you need this. Please sound off about this if you own it. Let's hear your take! Oh, and choosing between this and POAL, this. Not as complex, but the overall scent is better, imho. Definitely not an easy call, lol.

I get no incense or smoky notes. Rather it comes off as a very dominant rose note on a base on myrrh to give it a woody texture. Basically, it is like rubbing rose petals on your face. So, soft ,smooth, elegant and alluring. Not too jammy, or sweet or overly powdery that would bring in more into the feminine realm. I can see why many might view this as a masculine rose but I feel it like clearly unisex. Projection is quite strong if not monstrous for the first several hours. It slowly fades over many hours to a radiating rose aura. It is basic in structure with no challenging or off putting notes. But it is so masterfully crafted as one has come to expect from Jacques. I'm not typically a rose fan but I got a good deal on a 100ml bottle for $150 that I couldn't pass it up. And I'm glad I didn't as this is such a captivating scent.

I have a weakness for rose-note men’s fragrances. This is one of the rare scents that can be so intensely rose-forward and still remain masculine — in fact, it’s a true masterpiece among rose-themed men’s perfumes. For example, Toy Boy smells very synthetic and cheap, while Lyric Man remains a simple fragrance without much depth. I agree with the comment below saying that this is actually the scent Lyric Man wanted to be. If there were a more affordable, smaller-size option, I would definitely add it to my collection. For special occasions, with elegant clothing, it’s a wonderful companion for a true gentleman, in my opinion. April 2026 update: I came across a tester bottle at a great price and bought it right away — I’m very happy 😍

I have tested more than 20 rose-based fragrances(Lyric, POAL, Atomic Rose, exquisite embroidery, so on ) recently and let me tell you no rose scent can evoke the feeling what this scent does. Imagine morning dewy roses in the most delicate way - that is Garanat. It has a zen feeling with the help of cooling citrus notes in the perfume. One of my top 5 scents of all time. It is very versatile, you can wear it casual as well as formal. Can wear it in all seasons. Can wear it both during day and night. Absolute best rose-based fragrance for both men and women. Period.

Beautiful rose fragrance masterfully balanced with the incense. The dark incense note is not at your face. It transports me to the big hallways where rose fragrance is sprinkled and the incense is burning at a distant. The rose is so so beautiful. One of the best rose you can ever smell. It is so much underrated. My experience of wearing it is amazing. I feel like meditating with this fragrance. Almost forgot one of the best perfume bottle I have ever come across. Lovely gem like magnetic cap. Not sure why this got discontinued. I recommend this.

It's been a while since a fragrance I'm smelling for the first time made me say: Oh my god! I love it! Rose & incense with a hint of citrus that keeps it fresh & lively. I can detect a hint of oud as well in the background. It's really really good. I love it! It reminds a lot of Potion Royal Black by DSQUARED2, but Garanat is much better balanced & just smells better compared to the intensive & dry smell of smokey rose of Potion Royal Black. Now to find it at a decent price.

A lovely masculine rose centered Floriental this is a very sensual offering from Bvlgari. Boasting of only three high quality notes the centerpiece of this fragrance is a lovely Damask rose which is surrounded by Rose absolute and smoked Frankincense. The perfume is beautifully blended and very classy and natural without overpowering. Like stepping into a sacred shrine in an ancient Middle Eastern City. A breathtaking scent and must try for men who like roses. Enjoy!

A perfect rose scent. Leans masculine but I can definitely see anyone wearing this. It’s so interesting how it is on skin vs in the air. On the skin it’s a darker more dry red rose and incense, but in the air it’s almost creamier and has more of the cinnamon? Cinnamon isn’t listed on here but is on the official site I think. Overall, this is AMAZING. If you’re trying to find a good rose scent, look no further.

I received samples for the entire collection from Holt Renfrew in downtown Toronto. This was the 1st one I sample. Its a class on its own. beautiful, classy and cannot be assigned to any category. I believe it has its own category. A few hours later its still there and I'm still enjoying it. Definitely a full bottle worthy, however for a collector like myself, I wish they have a 50 ML bottles.

Garanat is an amazing scent. I've tried tons of men's rose fragrances and none of them have been able to come off as masculine as this. It has an amazing smokey rose scent with a very light tough of cinnamon. Sadly this has been discontinued, but I was able to snatch 3 bottles of this stuff. I wish they kept making this though.

Garanat is a real gem. Manly rose fragrance that smells very divine and high quality. Masterpiece. It's very skillfully composed by a very talented perfumer. Elegant sillage and good performance. Dapper gentleman with fine taste kinda perfume.I am fully in love with Garanat.

A beautiful signature scent rose. extremely long lasting. This doesn't smell like your typical rose fragrance so it's worth trying out! It's like a deep smoky red rose, not a creamy pink rose etc. One of my favorites! Very classic man.

Hollow transparent wet oily outline of a rose. Barely rose. Barely incense. Barely there. Strange. Not bad. Not good. It’s like a ghost wore a perfume then left the room and you made a perfume of the scent he left behind.

Very natural, simple and classy rose scent, a hint of amber and incense in the background, and this rose scent give me nostalgic vibe, if you love rose scent, a must try, I absolutely love it Garanat is 9.5/10

SA told me that this has been discontinued. Perhaps due to them having a more recent rose fragrance not too removed from this one.

I'm really grateful I picked this one up. Blind bought, glad I did.

This only has 2 ingredients, rose and incense. But don't be fooled by this, Cavalier uses simple combos and elevates them in a way few perfumers can do so, for him 1+1 = greater than 2. It's a more balanced and higher quality version of Or Encens (that one screams middle east, not bad but is headache inducing for me), in Garanat the incense and rose are perfectly balanced, one does not overpower the other unlike Or Encens where the incense does (60% incense vs 40% rose). Another perfume which this can be compared to is Radical Rose extrait, in that perfume, there is a war between the dark rose and the immortelle + saffron combo, it gives a very oily feeling (maybe cause it's an extrait ?). If you want to overpower people, go for that one, but if you want sophistication, get Garanat

I don’t get any incense, but there maybe is a sprinkling of cinnamon... who are we kidding, it’s almost completely rose. It gets pretty close to the feeling of actually pressing your nose against a fresh rose petal. Calming! Don’t how they did it, but it does lean masculine. It’s so simple yet memorable. Kinda... like a rose. It smells very upscale without being all up in your face about it. A great way to make an impression on someone. Forgetting the scent for a moment, this gives me a similar wearing experience to Xerjoff Richwood. I’m not as in love with Garanat, but the airiness and linearity of it gives this more versatility in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very nice, but to pay $300 just to smell like rose, I mean c’mon.

Rose and incense. It's a nice one but it didn't last on me and it stayed really close to my skin and didn't project at all unfortunately. I'll go with Les Sables Roses by LV if you're looking for the best rose fragrance created by the same perfumer. Edit: So after getting a full bottle and months of wearing this, I realized that this is much better than Les Sables Roses. This is a great masculine rose and incense scent that is just magical. I remember trying this in store one year ago and it didn't last on me at all, but after giving it full wear, I experienced the fragrance differently and for the better, as this is becoming one of my favorite scents.

A rose incense perfume that is wispy and seemed ethereal. The scent is there but also not there. Rather hollow. Not the kind of perfume I expected of Le Gemme collection at all. The rose is neither sweet nor fresh. Almost like smelling a dried rose bouquet but also not exactly that. The incense is not like a joss stick but more like something burned to keep out insects without added scents. Dry and bitter and not particularly inviting to smell again. Edit. The dry down became peppery and reminds me of TF Rose de Russie. Only at this point does this become more likable.

I'm quite disappointed with the men's collection; with that said, this is the only one worth considering. It's a really nice masculine rose incense, not too fresh, too dry, too floral, nor too sweet.

This is a lovely rose fragrance. I'm not sure that it befits the price tag though. Easy to wear and has good longevity.

Takes some time to settle. Smelled a bit dirty in the opening - after some time the rose is quite prominent.

Starts as a smokey rose scent with the rose / floral scent becoming the most dominant scent. The underlying is smokey incense is way overshadowed with rose scent. Pretty uncomplicated, simple, straightforward scent.

An absolutely beautiful masculine, contemplative rose...i blind bought this and upon spraying, immediately knew this was THE rose fragrance I had been dreaming of but hadn’t yet found. The initial comparison would certainly be to Portrait of A Lady, however Garanat is much more to the point and leans more on the dark side. Incense and rose here share nearly an equal place upon the lofty pedestal that is Garanat. This is a sillage masterwork. Bury your nose in it and you will be pricked by the roses “thorn” : an austere frankincense and seemingly burning rose effect... however, when floating in the air, Garanat’s true beauty unfolds...this scent feels spiritual, ancient, meditative...when reading the description given by Bvlgari I thought to myself, what do they mean by ‘chiraroscuro incense’? While that may be a fantasy accord, you will understand it when you wear Garanat: it is the smell of a sanctuary of great antiquity, dimly lit by candles, with veils of frankincense and roses upon an altar, it’s solemn yet sophisticated at the same time, this being mirrored by its two notes: rose and incense 10/10

I tried Garanat a few times. I ended up not buying a full bottle. Garanat is a high quality, simple and well done fragrance. Simple, because it seems to consist of only a few notes, of which rose is the most prominent one. The blend is well done and I can almost distinguish different bone dry, roughly textured layers of rose. A bit sharp/industrial, but pleasant in this case. I like that Jacques Cavallier did not try to add tons of other notes, it is just rose to the core. So far, I'm very positive. The thing is: I don't like rose prominent fragrances. :) They tend to be very soapy (I associate rose with soap). Furthermore, I miss something uplifting or some playfulness. Maybe some (more?) citrus would have done that, but I only get rose. Because it is lacking an uplifting element, Garanat is quite formal, boring even. To summarize: very good quality (long lasting, even), but unfortunately not for me. 7,5/10

This just smells like a man that is amazing in every way. Simply masculine, high quality rose and a catholic-reminiscent (frankincence) incense. At different times, both seem to be dominant. One simple spray at the top of my chest where my collar opens up, and I have been getting compliments all day. More important, I feel great, myself, wearing it. I chose this above others in the line, one reason because I could tell it had a nice, strong scent to it. Well worth the price, considering I can buy cheaper ones that I spray 4 - 6 times and don't get any reactions positive or negative.

Harsh opening, undoubtedly rose and incense heavy. Some light spice and woods as well. It smells a bit sour, near pungent, upon application but gradually smooths out. It's not for the faint of heart and this in no way is a feminine style rose. This is definitely a rose for men if you ask me. Dark and mysterious. Not really my style I guess but if you're looking for a decent rose fragrance with woody and smoky incense undertones one to check out. Overpriced like most in the line unfortunately. 6/10

Simplistic but extremely nice and high quality. Fantastic masculine smokey rose, projection is huge for a couple hours after application, longevity is nice. It does remind me a bit of Toy Boy later in the drydown but it's more straightforward and smells of better quality. One of my favorite rose scents I've come across. Edit: Couple of sprays on my winter coat about a week ago. Can still distinctly smell it any time I go to put it on and any time I walk past where I have it hung up.

Deep, red and sensual rose, up there as one of the best rose scents I've tried. I see this is compared to Rose Incense from Amouage but they're not similar in the slightest, Rose Incense has a decently powdery rose with green and inky facets during the opening, Garanat on the other hand has a slight green harshness that mostly dissipates after a while and leaves the gorgeous rose behind. Excellent fragrance.

This is by far the most masculine rose fragrance I’ve tried, with the second being Or Encens by Issey Miyake (coincidentally a rose-incense as well). It’s beautiful, but like Or Encens, it is too middle-eastern smelling for me. The Garnet stone truly represents this fragrance so well. Truly the embodiment of the dark red color on the cap. An extremely deep, dark red is the color of the rose in this one.

Garanat Bvlgari (80 ml, 115 usd) I buy Garanat because of this is only fragrance that have the most prominent incense note on my skin. I own few incense / rose fragrance like potl, spice must flow ELDO, Rose Incense by Amouage. All of them doesn’t hit like Garanat. So I buy this to try a few full wear. To be score.

OMG...I totally forgot this was a Men's fragrance. But, I gotta tell you that it smells AMAZING on my skin. It's such a unique take on rose. Projects exceptionally well and lasted for over 7 hours on skin. While I won't be getting a FB, I will continue to enjoy my samples until they're gone.

A strong, seductive, powerful rose; masculine without drowning it in patchouli, sharp but elegant, the longevity is really good; I layered it with Portrait of a lady (yes, I dared to layer this masterpiece, sorry !) and it worked pretty well :)

Good but not great. Has a crayon vibe to it. If I want a really great rose, I'd turn to Amouage's Lyric Man. I'd still wear this just not as often. I think the best from the Gemme line is Tygar and Onekh. Garanat gets better on the dry down.

The best unrefined smoky rose perfume. Pure Taif and Bulgari roses were used professionally. This is due to the creative perfumer Jacq. The durability is wonderful and unparalleled and deserves to be repeated. 10/10

This is soooo stunning and this coming from a man who owns a tonne of Rose and Incense fragrances. Its screams luxury, sex and romance. One of the few fragrances which makes me swoon.

Turkish Bloody roses within slight incense. This is a direct dark rose blend. Bloody Turkish roses (for the sweetness), patchouli, Incense, & smoke. All i can say is, meh.

I agree with Calvani ... The only one I liked it too and got lot of compliments after I applied it in a store .. will look forward to buy one soon .

I tried the new 60ml / 125 ml bottles and literally not worth the price. Very watered down, close to skin scents..

Simplicity of this is what makes this so great. No rose scent smells like this one. It's just special.
