Goldea The Roman Night Absolute

This is one of those rare fragrances that make me fall in love instantly. It’s not often that I smell a perfume and go “mmmm, omg I love this!!” To me, there is a definite difference between the Roman Night and this flanker. It’s the vanilla I’m sure that just adds exactly what it needs. It’s the perfect blend of soft femininity, while being interesting and deep at the same time. It’s a pleasant fragrance that could easily be a signature as it does not scream summer, winter, daytime, nighttime. The big problem, and the only reason it will not be my signature is that it disappears very quickly. The sillage is also very lacking. It’s such a shame because it’s one of my favourites.

How I adore this perfume. All the notes listed, I can feel them. An amazing perfume, that literally has a huge lasting power and sillage is kinda strong. Such a sexy perfume, very classy, definately for 30+ years old women. I love wearing this when going to events, it's making me feel very empowered. Perfect for autumn and winter nights. I adore how the scent evolves over time and slowly you'll feel the vanilla a bit more... Sexyness in a bottle.

I consider it to be in the same realm of Chloé Nomade Absolu. Fruity but dry at the same time. It has a lot of earthiness to it. The plum in this composition is rather sour than ripe and the vanilla is just there to give it roundness. Easily an unisex fragrance imo. Projection and sillage are amazing. It lingers for hours and hours on the skin. Really like this one!

This is a beautiful perfume I get a craving to wear. I love plumy scents & it has my favorite florals. It's blended so well with the patchouli, Madagascar vanilla & black musk. The moss accord isn't so strong that it ruins it for me. Perfection. It's a lovely perfume & I'm so glad to have it in my collection. Thank you Alberto Morillas & Bvlgari! 💜

J’adore!!!!!! Ce parfum est divin! Il est chaud et doux! Délicieux! Certe, il est plutôt discret, la sillage est assez discret mais la tenue sur vêtements est vraiment très bonne. Je le trouve mature et élégant. De plus l’emballage et le flacon sont magnifiques ce qui ne gâche rien. Je conseille de l’essayer :)

My husband always compliments me when I wear this perfume - and he rarely does that. That says a lot about this one. I would describe it as classy and sophisticated. Sweet but never too much; the vanilla here is spicy and sensual. Love this for the winter time and fall alike. Would recommend a thousand times!

Starts out very akin to Dior Joy Intense and totally transforms into its darker sister on the dry down. This one needs to sit for about a year before it's ready to wear if you buy it brand new. You want it to age a bit. Lasts forever on clothes. I smell it on my shirt from 4 days ago still.

The beginning is a beautiful, sparkling champagne of plums, orange blossoms and something sweet. It’s not the same, but it reminds me of the beginning of Izia Sisley. Dry down is beautiful and exclusive, sensual, expensive smelling slightly sweet with moss and musk.

Very similar to Tom Ford after wearing it for 60-90 minutes. Slightly less rich but same category, same league. It's a mesmerizing high-end scent, sexy, ambitious and dark... a masterpiece. ❤️ Long lasting and powerful projection. 10/10

This perfume is an absolute pleasure to wear , syrupy black berry and just a sexy deep darker scent . Very pretty , almost clean , but so dirty, kind of reminds me of mancera musky garden cross with BBW Black Amythest

Dry down is wonderful, sweet, musky Moss. Longevity is eternal!

Although I really don't care for the ad, I like this one a lot. For a long time I’ve been (1) trying to make friends with the Goldea series, because secretly they appeal to me, (2) flirt with plum perfumes, and (3) find my black scent, and this might solve all three of these. So far, none of the Goldea members were attractive enough for me. The first (yellow-gold) scent is too musky with a pungent ylang-ylang. As I cannot stand rose on myself either, the Rose Goldea line was also largely out of the question. With regards to the black ones, I tried Roman Night first, but what many describe here as a 'salty-buttery vibe' was just pure salt for me, an attack on the senses. Absolute, however, contains what is good and exciting in the entire line and lacks all that put me off. There is a classy 'half-rosy' note, and even the salt is there slightly, but the vanilla and plum round it off somehow. I find this rather elegant and mature, not as young and sexy as the ad suggests.

Lovely plummy floral opening. 1 hour in, the musk comes through and the plum mixes with it. By the end of hour 2, I also noticed the creamy vanilla in the background. By hour 3 the patchouli and moss are also noticeable, which adds a "green" and (pleasantly) "dirty" note. Kind of reminds me a bit of Bazooka Joe bubblegum, too. This scent lasts 6+ hours before fading to the point of sitting closer to the skin.... but the patchouli and moss keep it from becoming a "skin scent". I think this is best for cooler spring, fall and maybe winter (unlike the "regular" Goldea - Roman Nights, which I like for warmer times.) I don't think it is "too similar" to the Goldea Roman Nights, which I think might be a bit easier to wear, for folks that are not fans of patchouli.

Thanks to a generous seller on eBay, I was able to score a mini of this for cheap. One of the big box stores offers a complementary mini splash EDP with purchase of a big bottle. It's so cute! The mini has a different design (the neck is all "gold" instead of the thin gold lines) and the name of the fragrance is not on the bottle. I poured a few drops on my wrist. The honey-sweet opening of this, much like the original Goldea: The Roman Night, reminds me of Dior Poison. I do detect some of the vanilla and a hint of heady white florals, but this one is less powerful. I rate this a "like." I will update when it dries down.

I recently published a review of this on my YOUTUBE "Rotten Rebel". Goldea Absolute opens up with a beautiful plum note backed up by it's sweet side (from the vanilla) and a dose of that musk. That opening is soft, classy and slightly seductive.. With the drydown a mix of jasmine and patchouli comes in and it all turns into something deep, sexy and dark. I think this is a fruity floral with vanilla backed up by musk and patchouli and it’s seductive and really nice! It’s a bit darker than Goldea the roman night and a great fragrance for women. I like Goldea the roman night a bit more though.

this is the first chypre i've ever owned in full size and i am SO in love. the performance is leaps and bounds ahead of the normal goldea roman night - that one to me is like a deeper burberry london with worse performance; this to me is a deep, rich, balanced floral, and maybe it's only because i have so many cold-weather perfumes but this is the first one i have that i could see working in all seasons. longevity is really nice, i get 6 hours easily out of it, and it's just got a touch of sweetness the way i like. very very happy w this one!

This is a great designer chypre and I think it's the best fragrance out of the Goldea line. It's not unique in anyway but it's still interesting enough for me to buy a full bottle. I get mostly plum, vanilla and a hint of bergamot and oakmoss. For me it's a seductive, colder weather evening scent and I wear this to bed at times too. Interestingly the sample I got was so much more stronger and intense - the juice was quite thick, almost viscous - but the EDP in the full bottle isn't the same.

Plum-forward fruitchouli with a lovely caramelised vanilla and a bit of oakmoss for olfactory balance. It's sweet, sensual, and very likeable, perfect for cool/cold weather. Not a big projector but absolutely noticeable in close proximity.

I think it's kind of okay. I can smell vanilla and fruity notes the most. It's very appropriate for autumn, but I personally don't crave it. Simple sweet fruity-floral, nothing ground-breaking. Bvlgari has more interesting ones.

Very pleasantly sweet, not candy more like fruity sweet. I am yet again catching myself gravitating to mossy fragrances without even knowing it. I think it's really pretty and honestly I don't think is only a cold weather scent I think you can get away with wearing this in spring, as long as it's not in high heat I can see this being an all year-rounder. Is it ground-breaking or unique? Not really but I would definitely compliment someone who's wearing this. I think it's gorgeous.Only reason why I wouldn't get it is that I want only strong performers in my arsenal.

I love that everyone wears fragrances differently; it means that there's something for everyone. This one, unfortunately, is not for me simply for the fact that it turns into a patchouli bomb on my skin. Happily, many of you love it. It's complex and interesting, and certainly worth checking out if you like the Tom Fords and other, more substantial fragrances.

Pretty! This scent can be a bit overwhelming after you spray it on. After a few minutes it's nice. I do feel like something is missing. It's like a sweet girl trying to be a seductive, dark woman without actually being one. That's weird. This might be a good perfume for a teenager who's just starting to explore more mature scents.

To me, this has literally the exact same fragrance as Arizona by Proenza Schouler. It's nice, but that's it.

I like The Roman Night and was curious about the Absolute version, so I tried a few sprays while out shopping one day. This is much different than the Roman Night. The Roman Night is a lighter, fresher fragrance with prominent florals and a wonderful musky dry down. This is a very heavy plum and vanilla fragrance on me. Almost syrupy and more like a gourmand than a chypre. Those who said it was on the line of Black Orchid are right. Even though the note profile is somewhat different, it is in the same dark vein, so if you like that fragrance, you might like this too. What kills this fragrance for me is the excessive sweetness, the heavy vanilla, (which I am so over as it's been done to death), and the patchouli. I really don't care for that combination of notes. I wish I was getting more from this fragrance than what I am, but I am not picking up the floral notes much either. If the floral notes were prominent, and the sweetness, vanilla, and patchouli toned down, I would probably like this right now. As it is not, I prefer the original version over this, though even that is just a like for me.

The idea of plum with orange blossoms, jasmine, vanilla and patchouli sounds amazing to me. But Goldea The Roman Night Absolute is not my thing. It has a very prominent moss accent that is overwhelming on me. While I like very much the fruity floral opening, after about half of hour, all I get is an intense moss and patchouli combination. Very earthy, woody and cold, all in an unpleasant way. Mediocre lasting power and intimate sillage. I have not tested the original to see if it is any better but this Absolute version is a no for me! I would not want to have this even for free.

I've got a little sample of this but I'm not not sure whether something's up with the sample or whether my skin just eats this fragrance up. After 10 minutes I have to push my nose onto my skin to even get a whiff of it. Now yes, the opening was a gorgeous plum and jasmine, though unfortunately after 2 minutes that all disappeared and I am left with an earthy and musky moss and patchouli. Like just so much moss. Not my speed, though granted I am also not a fan of other fragrances in this same category (like TF black orchid).

To me it smells like grass, moss and cold earth. A bit aquatic almost. A hint of plum (not ripe yet). Not sure I detect vanilla or anything sweet for that matter. Like another mentioned before, Dior original Poison (violett bottle) comes to mind - in a bad way in my case -Absolutely not my thing. I try to scrape it off but I bet it's impossible... Ok 1/2 hour later it got sweet. I still don't like it, all of the above is still there, but I don't feel like scrubbing it off a anymore :)

Pleasant enough fragrance but nothing special or distinctive. On me, the fragrance disappears rapidly, only lasting about an hour. It may be longer lasting on others. Personally, I consider it a waste of money.

Smells good, is the weakest perfume I've ever smelled. Takes like 5 sprays in the same spot to smell at all. Not worth ANY money. It doesn't do the basic job of smelling like you're wearing perfume.

I tried both The Roman Night and The RN Absolute in Douglas and could not detect the difference straight away (you know, Douglas is full of smells, with people spraying from the testers all around), so I ended up purchasing the Absolute version and taking home the sample of The Roman Night. Well, now I am sure that it would be better vice versa. Don't get me wrong, I like this perfume, but I just like the Roman Night version much more. I guess that is because I have some troubles with recent "intense" trend: they seem to add some fruity notes to scents, to make them more pronounced. Like it happened with "Coco Mad.Intense". Sadly, this unnecessary addition ruins the whole scent for me, it forces the gentle floral nuances to the background of the composition. The RN Absolute is denser, fruitier and warmer, than the regular RN, and therefore feels louder and simpler to me. The funny association - sometimes it feels, like RT with a warm bowl of porridge, steaming on the background, with plums and vanilla sugar in it. Overall, I like this scent and I am glad I got my bottle. It's great for winter evenings, dimmed lights and elegant black cashmere pullovers.

Dark but not really. Seductive almost. Very feminine. Clearly autumnal. It reminds me of Nero Assoluto, could be because of the vanilla, not as woody though. I'd say it's an oriental fruity floral, not chypre floral. The opening is very confusing, like an explosion of everything, messy. When it dries down you can really hear the plums, smooth vanilla and lots of white musk, which is also predominant in Goldea Roman Night. Just hints of moss and patchouli and some floral, these are very low key. I don't see anything innovative here: a fabric softener blend of vanilla and plum, for an absolue version it's definitely done before, but it smells beautiful.

This is not bad, i like it more than the original Roman Night, but i have a weird feeling about this perfume, i feel like it had something important to say, but didn‘t had the courage to finish delivering the message. It has an uncomfortable toned down darkness. I think they tried to make this one more comercial than the first, but the result is strange. It is not a crowd pleaser, but it is too tame for a vamp woman. This fragrance is not well blended and has a serious personality issue. Again, it doesn‘t smell bad, it is actually pleasant, but disappointing.

First of all, I have to agree with anyone saying that the packaging of this is misleading. This is not a dark fragrance. It is more like a delicate-with-a-hint-of-sexy chypre. I don't own many chypre but I have to say this is my favorite in this category. The jasmine here is innocent and toned down by the vanilla. The plum is rich, juicy but not overly sweet. It lasts 6hours on my skin and it is the kind of fragrance that disappears and reappears here and there. I wore this for my birthday and I can not wait to make even more memories with this.

My signature scent for many years 😍 when I was young . Can't find it anymore. And I def went darker in taste over the years... But was the most delicious sexy feminine plum. So feminine and elegant. Not deep, not dark quite floral but delicious. I miss finding it again. I would no doubt restock just out of nostalgia. She has win over all my past lovers until 8 years ago, and got me so many compliments. It was a wonder.

I know I may be way off but this to me smells like CK TRUTH for her. Initial spray to me is green notes with the moss peeking through and some aquatics. I appreciate TRUTH, but for a bvlgari I find this extremely disappointing and underwhelming.Expected so much more So it comes off a little dusty because of the mossy notes. But the drydown is everything! Elegant sophisticated gorgeous ❤️

The opening is a really nice plum which deepens into a faint liquorice-like smell, however within 30 minutes vanilla and patchouli push trough and the overall scent turns from pleasantly sweet to cloying and too heavy for my liking. I might give it another chance in the autumn and winter since there are elements in this I really like, but for springtime this is just too much.

Although the bottle is extremely attractive the fragrance is rather ordinary. To me, the addition of black musk combined with other heavy sweet notes makes it rather headache inducing. Definitely the kind of perfume that should be used sparingly or sprayed and walked into. Lasts seemingly forever on clothing I wish it were a hit for me but, alas, it's a miss.

I received a sample of this, and just tried it on. I loved Bulgari Jasmin Noir, so hoped that I would love another Bulgari in a black bottle. :) The description says this has jasmin in it, but I don't smell it at all. All I get is a fruity-musky-mossy scent. It's not a terrible fragrance, just kind of boring. I would not add it to my fragrance collection.

I love this fragrance as does my husband...it's soft,subtle, yet seductive. I spray this on in the morning and still get wafts of it in the afternoon. I live in Az where it's hot 7 months out of the year...this will be the fragrance I wear the other 5 months.

Love this one, beautiful box and bottle, fragrance is flowery, mystic, dark mochus, vanilla, plum , moss.. Unisex on my skin, longevity great, i get 8+h, only sillage is medium becouse its edp... almost niche quality for designer price.. 😁

This fragrance is the warmest plum-patchouli scent. The dry down is comforting like a smooth wool sweater. I don't think it's sexy, clearly more for cold weather. Spray a lot if you want it to last more than 2 hours.

i've heard this is bella hadids signature scent so i had to buy it.white floral and sexy.giving me black lingerie with garter vibes.but after 1 hour it doesnt smell so strong which i hate.

I own very few winter scents, but the combo of plum and patch in the dry down is a delicious licorice that I am thoroughly enjoying on this rainy Fall night.
