Jasmin Noir L’Essence

Confession time: I am a 20 year old female with a perfume obsession and an undying love for everything dark, mysterious and sultry. Leather, tobacco, myrrh, incense, woods, spices - I can't get enough of that. My affair with Jasmin Noir started early, around age 10. My mother had bought a set of Bvlgari samples for her mother in law, but seeing that I love perfume to pieces, those samples ended up in my hands. Crystalline and Amethyste quickly ended up alone an unloved, Rose Essensielle and Femme were fairly nice too, but nothing could compare with Jasmin Noir. I adored it. I treasured it. I identified with it on a deep level. Jasmin Noir was a magic mirror where that I looked into, and saw my adult self staring back. How could I not include this fragrance in my collection? Jasmin Noir has been reformulated, and it's a shadow of itself. L'Essence brings back the potency of Jasmin Noir, but more balsamic, darker, woodier, even more mature. The jasmine is hardly discernible here. Rather, it is Jasmin Noir's darkness amplified. Precious woods, almond, licorice, and myrrh. Yes, Bee-young-ka is right, the myrrh is a noticeable (and welcome!) addition, but I disagree strongly with discouraging people under 30 from wearing this. This masterpiece could be enjoyed by anyone.

This is one of those fragrances that can honestly be described as 'gorgeous', no doubt about that! The opening stuck me as having a vintage tone with a twist of citrus, the bergamot is strong to me for a few minutes and this is actually refreshingly oldschool, I didn't expect it, it's great! It mellows into a spicy jasmine, and somehow with the blend of tonka, licorice, pepper and the sweetness of myrrh (it doesn't smell of myrrh nec, but it has a baseline resinousness to it and it feels very "full") it smells of incredibly elevated/fancy Dr. Pepper. It's not gourmand, yet it this is smoothly delicious and very, very elegant. In the drydown it remains very refined, interesting. There's a real creative edge with this one, but it's not entirely *out there* (I like weird frags, so either way is not problematic), but this is very "wearable" by most people's standards. It's noticeable, but not wouldn't be rude to non-fragheads (if that's even a consideration, I'm not implying it even should be). Projection is moderate, longevity is 8 hours or so before it becomes a true skin scent on me. I bemoan the current prices of this, maybe I'll get a FB, or maybe I'm just going to savor the sample...

I got a 12 sample pack of this to compare it with my bottle of Splendida jasmine noir and they are similar but different enough that I want both. The L'essence is more about the jasmine, there is no gardenia here. This is a very sensual, seductive jasmine infused with sweet and spicy licorice, deep myrrh and vanillic Tonka bean and nutty oily almond. It lacks the razor sharp petals of the single cemetery gardenia that is found in the Splendida version. The stone tombs, the wet mushroom earth. The jasmine L'essence is warmer, sweeter, spicy overt sexuality. Much more the woman out to have a good time mingle, be seen. A perfume for holiday parties, dinner out with your husband. Splendida Jasmin Noir is much more somber, brooding, complicated. She is a woman who keeps to herself but is still noticed but she is unapproachable, mysterious. Captivating yet frightening. Both are beautiful perfumes with name jasmine but only 1 is a jasmine and that is L'essence. She is a spicy and sweet nutty edible jasmine. Delicious, sexy and fun loving.

Like the original Jasmin Noir, which has been my favorite for many years...this is the most beautiful version of JN I have ever experienced. A composition of everything I want in a fragrance. Jasmin Noir L'Essence, a true name for this embodies the very soul of Jasmin Noir in a bottle. Complex and luxurious; this composition of seemingly simple, common notes becomes something much more enigmatic. A dark beauty veiled in shadow and smoke matched by a most exquisite black and gold bottle. This fragrance is ever so smooth, as a liquor. Almost bourbon-like without the bitterness.The sweetness is mellow and savory. It is gourmand, it is floral, it is pleasure in a bottle. You can pair this with sweatpants and smell of royalty and decadence. You still get the licorice-marzipan feel of the original JN, but the myrhh of L'Essence gives this a wonderful middle eastern flair. Spray this and become the night blooming desert flower in the Sultans garden of forbidden delights.

Omg! This is absolutely everything I hoped it would be from reading the notes. On me this is a dark, slightly resinous, creamy, woody almond/jasmine. It’s so well blended that no one note jumps out. I kept getting wafts of it and it reminded me of a fragrance and it took a while for it to click but it smells like a darker, nuttier slightly less sweet version of heliotrope by Reminiscence which I also love. I wore them side by side and they are very much alike! I bought a 12 pack of samples of l’essence for a very inexpensive price. I’ll be purchasing a full bottle next. I don’t know how this compares to Jasmin Noir EDP because I haven’t received that yet. I ordered a 25ml and it’s in its way to me. I hope it’s as beautiful as l’essence. If you can pick up a sample please do if you think you might enjoy this at all. I think it’s really special.

I just received this gorgeous scent and I'm obsessed. Why oh why can't more perfumes be like this and not candy factories? This is dark deep sexy and soft. It really is a soft scent that doesn't screech on your skin, but envelopes you with its warm beauty. I'm really enjoying Bvlgari fragrances right now. I bought the Indian Garnett and love that one too. I want to try the Coral next as I've heard good things. This one is woodsy, I definitely smell the myrrh, the jasmine is light, but it's there. It's hard to describe, you should probably try this before buying. It's not Flowerbomb or Pink Sugar, no it is not. But if you like more sensual fragrances like Samsara, you might like this one.

This kind of perfume makes me feel very special, it's very resin-y, which I love and it definitely has an expensive aroma. The Jasmine doesn't really come out on my skin, fine with me. I purchased blind online because it was a Essence which I took to mean stronger and Noir which I took to mean dark/night scents. A wonderful Myrhh, deep and smoky and a bit damp. I love this and feel a bit Dark Magic when I wear it.

Wow. This is like Jasmin Noir with all the rough edges smoothed out. The sharp, synthetic jasmine that was a little too much in other Bvlgari jasmine scents is toned down, and the ensuing gap filled in more with the myrrh. There's creamy almond and that mystique of anise and woodsy notes. This is both a very sexy and versatile perfume, definitely out of the ordinary. It's not overpowering but noticeable.

At least on me it is very subtle for a noir fragrance, but quite nice, round and pleasing. I think I will be wearing it more as a daytime fragrance than an evening fragrance, unless I want to wear something in the evening with less oompf than usual. If that frag were just a little bit more potent, I would be in heaven. It is however still a real beauty and a worthy addition to my collection.

Why didn't I buy more? Possibly the best scent of all time if you love resins with a hint of tonka. update: bought more (3 bottles, why hold back on such a wonderful scent) an am revelling in this resin-y sent. I love Myrrh and licorice this is amazing. Jasmin is detectable but not main stage. this is a Myrrh darling of a perfume. My favourite of my collection. this is niche like.

❤️❤️❤️ I used to be in love with this perfume when I was younger. It still has an effect on me but I will not repurchase it when I finish my bottle. It has a unique beautiful DNA that whispers Mysterious Elegance with a masculine undertone. The dry down is absolutely marvelous, and it lingers for hour and hours! it will get you compliments no doubt. Bravo Bvlgari!

This perfume is so lovely! I bought it for evening wear but now I'm using it all the time. The firsts few minutes it's a little bit to peppery and heavy on me, but after a while it ends up in this very soft but still intense and warm scent of liquorice and tonka beans. I vary between ten perfumes right now and this is my absolute favorite.

Very sexy, mysterious, powerful and intimidating. Opening note is creamy, buttery and sweet. The drydown is a bit flowery but just enough for me coz I ain't big fan of flowery scent. I can smell pink pepper and I'll buy any perfume that has pink pepper in it!

This is so rich and pretty. It's got the thick, opulent smell of resin. The myrrh and tonka smell like sweet amber. The jasmine is there but it's not the star of the show in this version. The woods and pink pepper give it a light smokiness.

Dark, sweet, sensual dirty jasmin. Usually I like refined, clean fragrances but this one caught me... Months ago I simply hated it, but now, obviously my skin chemistry is changing a lot, I love it. Need a respraying through a day.

Oh, yes, Jasmin Noir L'Essence, you WILL be my next new victim...uh...perfume! What an amazing scent. Definitely she belongs to the night, with her bewitching jasmine and woods aroma. Mmmmmm delicious on my skin!

Just delicious,dark and mysterious. Woody,syrupy,nutty. Long lasting on the skin but doesn't project very well unfortunately.

I WANT and NEED this BAD! And NOW! L'Essence is at the top of my wish list at the moment. It's SO beautiful!

Wow this is gorgeous! Almond and jasmine are definitely there hanging out in the middle of it all. I don't find the jasmine too indolic, not even a little. I think the combo of myrrh and licorice beneath the jasmine is what's giving people the impression of indoles but as for the jasmine itself, it is clear as day; no poo. The base notes appear rather quickly. I'm a sucker for myrrh and it plays so beautifully with the licorice note. Tonka pairs with the resin for a smooth sweetness and there's an overall woody aspect that carries the fragrance through. I love the original, but this may have taken its place. L'Essence is dark, woody, sexy jasmine in a bed of myrrh that's not overbearing but still much more pronounced than the original which I found to be annoyingly soft. I don't even miss the green notes and patchouli of the original in this, which I thought I would, but this flanker leaves nothing to be missed. I hate saying it, but I think this is exactly what I wanted Jasmin Noir to be. What a keeper! If you like the original I really think you would love this. Side note: A healthy dose of sarsaparilla, or root beer, emerges in the dry down thanks to the sweet vanillic quality of tonka bean combined with licorice root, which was a really fun and unexpected surprise! A Perfect night out or winter scent that's classy, interesting and damn delicious! To do this fragrance justice I should be wearing a black mini dress and heels with sleek, straight hair and dark vampy lips. Update: Longevity is really impressive, lasting into the next day. I went to the gym today and it's like it reactivated itself on my hot skin after working up a sweat and projected it's heavenly base notes all over again. It smelled complex, creamy, woody and kinda floral. My initial thought was this has to be something I've never smelled before and I must know what it is now! I thought it was coming from the gal next to me, then I sniffed around and realized it was coming from where I sprayed this last night! I was 2 seconds from asking her what perfume she was wearing. I rarely ask people in public about their perfume because a lot of them are run of the mill scents and it takes a very special one to grab my attention the way this did. All along it was coming from me haha no wonder I loved it! This is really something special, almost 20 hours later no less. It became one with my skin and turned into an almost entirely different scent after being reheated the next day HA! Moral of this story, longevity is bonkers. Projection is perfectly perfect. I'm wowed.

I have died and gone to heaven. I'm not content with just my body smelling like Jasmin Noir L'Essence. No, this is what I want my life to smell like. Jasmin Noir L'Essence opens up like a beautiful firework with all of its notes. Bergamot, almond, licorice, incense - they're all there. For the next few minutes I can breathe in the almond and purple licorice floating just above the surface of my skin. The licorice isn't a dry, anise spice. Instead it hints at the plumminess found in other noir and purple fragrances. As time passes, tonka bean reminiscent of Dior Addict takes its place just above the skin. Surrounding it all is the true treasure of this fragrance - the devastatingly beautiful resin. As I moved about today I experienced moments of sweet, dark decadence within the almost religious euphoria of myrrh. Luxurious licorice and almond would appear. Then the most beautiful incense. So strange because I could barely find the fragrance with my nose to my arm! Voile de Jasmin is the only fragrance I have worn or smelled out of all Bvlgari's jasmine perfumes. Here, jasmine is not a standalone note or even a theme. It's the delicate veil gently draping everything else in another layer of beauty. Jasmin Noir L'Essence is elegant to its core. I, as well as other reviewers, have noted a certain melancholy. I see a woman who possesses worldly wealth and ageless beauty. Her manners are impeccable and her tastes refined. None of us will know why she keeps her heart locked within such a cool exterior. Dark, cool, exquisite, and at times almost otherworldly. As with this woman, there is a mystery to L'Essence which makes it a thing you can never really touch. I will forever be intrigued. Back to reality! This was an educated blind buy for me even though I said there would be no more. It was worth every penny and then some. I don't think this one has anything to offer for jasmine lovers. Though I am not suggesting the perfumes are similar, I think lovers of Prada L'eau Ambree will find something here. I felt like I needed a hefty dose of L'Essence to get the effect I wanted. I also have longevity concerns, but I say that so often now I think it's just the reality of a lot of modern fragrances. Despite those concerns, Jasmin Noir L'Essence has just taken its place on my favorites shelf.

Jasmin Noir L'Essence lasts for a very long time indeed. It really does have a lot of durability. Like it or loath it, you really do get a lot of value for money in that sense! I'd say the projection is moderate rather than heavy but, if you're wearing it, you're certainly going to be aware of it. This isn't a fragrance to be ignored but it doesn't go around shouting and screaming and assaulting the nostrils of others. The opening gives you a full-blooded olfactory experience: bergamot, pepper, almond and that incense smell which myrhh provides. To be honest, I don't like the first twenty or thirty minutes of it: it's just a bit too overwhelming. But it settles and then as the top notes fade away, the myrhh stays there and you get a little jasmine coming out to play along with tonka and a little almond. The transition from the heart notes to the base notes is very slow and subtle. Gradually the almond inches its way into the background and shuffles off stage without noticing and the jasmine evaporates into the air. What replaces them is the appearance of woody notes, a little licorice and a resiny feel along with the tonka. It's such a slow motion change though. But the good news is that as the fragrance metamorphoses, it improves too. As the caterpillar builds its chrysalis and turns into a butterfly, Jasmin Noir L'Essence too transforms from something apparently unremarkable and unloveable to something rather pleasant. I don't think this is an everyday sort of perfume and I think you would really have to love it to wear it a lot. It's definitely for the autumn and winter and evening and night. It's definitely a bit different but you do have to be tremendously patient to wait hours for it to evolve. I would say it is the best of the Jasmin Noir group with their lovely black bottles, but I still prefer the Mon Jasmin Noir if you're looking for a jasmine and floral perfume. I wouldn't buy this for my significant other and I would only recommend it to someone who is looking specifically for this type of thing, but I certainly wouldn't warn someone off it either. It's one for a confident woman who is after a particular smell and is happy to stand out from the crowd.

JASMIN NOIR L'ESSENCE is an intense version of original JASMIN NOIR. I bought it for myself 2 years ago as a birthday gift. This is Limited Edition. The Oriental - Floral - Woody scent is composed with Jasmine and Licorice as the main notes. Jasmine is very sweet. Blended with sweet woody scent (from Licorice, Tonka Bean, Almond and Woody Notes). Everytimes I sprayed I always imagine to a smoked jasmine, a white jasmine which is covered by smoked from Burned Wood. It's dark, sexy, sensual, and mystery. I also feel to a beautiful and sexy woman who is wearing luxury black dress and the sparkling diamond on her neck. She is standing in the dark and mystery, cold weather and silent around her. The first feeling is a strong sweet jasmine with a woody smell comes into black feeling. One side make me feel sexy, luxury, and mystery. And another side it is so sad. I always used this fragrance to show condolence in the funeral times. But actually you can use it in the night you want to have a look of beautiful and rich women. After that, It will show about the Warm feeling from woody. Licorice is the main note of this time. and backing by Tonka Bean, Almond, or another woody. Very very long lasting with the great sillage. Actually original Jasmine Noir is long lasting and a good sillage enough for me, but this flanker is the intense version of original Jasmine Noir. So it must double intense. On my skin I can smell it for more than 12 hours. And the sillage is so strong then make me feel headached for 2 sprays on my body. If you're looking for the winter scent which are smell very sweet and felling to the perfect women. I recommened JASMIN NOIR L'ESSENCE for you to try. :D

This luxuriously dark and heady aroma is intoxicating. Identical in basics to the original Jasmin Noir, which I love, but there's a certain something special in this that makes it stand out. It's even lovelier than the original Jasmin Noir. There's a deeper, sweeter, woodiness about it, and spice too. Gives it a nice little bite, but not too much. This is more sultry and smooth than anything. I imagine this on a beautiful but deadly female villain! I do believe it's the myrrh that gives it that resinous, middle eastern flair that I find very appealing and mysterious. The scent of a strong woman with secrets and a dark alter ego... If you already love Jasmin Noir, but you're looking for something "more" I highly recommend finding this, chances are you'll love it even more. This truly is the "essence of Jasmin Noir"! Silage and Longevity are not too bad on me, a couple sprays had my in a cloud of delicious dark marzipan/resinous scents for several hours straight, then dried down and trailed off into a creamy sweet wood. Of course it varies with skin chemistry. and THAT BOTTLE....DIVINE! A statement of class that is the Bvlgari name. If I didn't already have a signature, this would have been it hands down. Perhaps it may become my signature scent for a while anyway, it's just that lovely.

Като сладко, което е останало на дъното на бурканчето и е по-гъсто от това, което е било в началото. Жасминът е мек, не така отчетлив като в оригинала и по-кротък също така. Тонка боб се усеща отчетливо и точно с него е обвит жасминът. Не се излъчва като първообраза, с който пълня цялата стая когато го нося, не вее такъв гигантски шлейф и по-скоро си представям, че един ПП Jasmin Noir би ухаел така. Мек, интимен, много по-изчистен и качествен аромат, с повече класа от първия Jasmin Noir. В един момент от развитието си много напомня Dior Addict Eau de Parfum за продължителен период от няколко часа. Няколко часа, защото трайността не е по-малка за сметка на всичко останало. Около 12 часа след нанасянето на кожа вече се връща към уханието на едп версията, но тихо и меко. Като цяло, много секси аромат, много нощен, но някак не за събитие, а за интимни моменти на свещи и тиха музика.

At last there is truth in advertising, and the "Floral Woody Musk" designation is dead-on. Jasmin Noir L’Essence is Jasmin Noir EDP amped way, way up. If you wished the original lasted longer, and was a bit stronger (Bulgari will never, ever make a powerhouse of projection of perfume, it's just not going to happen) the L'Essence edition is for you. Now, on my skin both JN's are primarily woody notes, musk, licorice, pink pepper, and almonds all the way. The top is garnished with a flash of greenery, and the base becomes a concentrated woody musk, with a bit of incense/myrrh added to the mix. The jasmine is there through most of the perfume, but it is buried underneath the other notes--it is not a prominent note, which is why it is confusing--a perfume with a floral name is not a floral perfume. JN L'Essence lasts at least 10 hours on my skin--that's crazy for a Bulgari, and those base notes do project a bit for sure. If you love Floral Woody Musks I think this is a green light.

Beautiful, sensual, dark, sweet, soft. This is a gorgeous, delicious fragrance. I put it on at the department store and fell in love. I bought it on the spot. I had also tried the Jasmin Noir, but I much preferred the sweetness of L'Essence. I've only worn it out twice so far, but on my second time wearing this, I received a compliment! The only downside is, L'Essence completely disappears after 5 hours (at least to my nose). But it is truly a gorgeous, sweet, sexy fragrance. EDIT: I put it on this morning and couldn't even smell it an hour later. I ended up putting on a different fragrance completely. So sad. :( I won't be repurchasing and will probably give it away soon.

This is a creamy, rich jasmine with an edible quality. I definitely pick up on the licorice, which I would not have thought I’d like, but it’s subtle and seems to complement the white floral beautifully. I personally love the absence of patchouli in this (as opposed to the original). I do not get much of the top notes at all. I would agree the projection isn’t overly strong for a noir fragrance, but the longevity is good on my skin. I like to wear this on special nights out, when I want to feel sophisticated and feminine but not too bold.

Lowering it from love as it does not seem to like winter. It barely has any presence like the edp. The Splendida iteration, however, does well during wintertime. It is hard to describe the scent, it is indeed dark, floral with smoky nuances. Jasmine is the main focus, not gardenia like in the edp and Splendide. Instead of green notes there are woody and licorice notes but subtle, they do not overwhelm the jasmine but create a dark mood for it. It used to be my favourite out of the line. As of now I prefer Splendida Jasmin Noir.

I don't get very much 'sweet' from this but that's fine with me. When first sprayed it is very peppery but this initial blast soon dries down into a lovely spicy floral. This stage lasts easily for a couple of hours on me then the woods and licorice come through with an almond hint. It does for me, retain the Jasmine. I sprayed it again before going to bed last night and I could still smell it when I woke up this morning. It's not got a monster silage but it's there. Longevity is around 8 hours. I will buy it again.

All versions of this are way too watered down. I just want a Jasmin noir I can actually smell without sniffing my wrist like a weirdo. Even when I spray mostly on my neck, it just is so weak I can't even tell if I really like it. You can find something similar for a much better price, but this is all my housemate will wear. Except Mon Jasmin Noir and similar flankers. I can actually smell that one and it's the only other one shell wear other than Jasmin noir. I guess the whole thing makes perfect sense

I did blindly buy this perfume. I was expecting a lighter version, something more into jasmine. Although I'm crazy about perfume in woody family, all I can say I just like this one. There's something that prevent me to fall in love with the fragrance. However, you can wear this in colder months and on special occasions only.

Jasmin, sweet delicious jasmin. Supported by not too dark notes: tonka, licorice, myrrh, and lifted by light ones: bergamot and pink pepper. I am so pleased with this version, it is like the original, but getting closer and closer. YUMMY

My 7 year old son likes to smell any new perfumes I get and give me his opinion. He said this one smelled amazing, so there yah go! Its similar to the original, but a little creamier. :)

I can't stand this one, which is funny because I actually love the original, and this is very similar. So why can't I stand this one? Well, for some reason the jasmine note is an indole bomb here, unlike the luscious jasmine sambac note I get in the original. Then, there are some very sweet and cloying notes in this one, an overly sweet myrrh (I dislike myrrh so that might be why I dislike this so much) that is literally kind of suffocating for me, and then an overly sugared tonka that makes me confused as to what this perfume wants to achieve. Is it supposed to be a gourmand, an oriental, or a dark, woodsy floral? I think it tries to accomplish all of the above, but fails. The original DOES accomplish all of the above though and it does it smoothly! It has a perfectly rounded bitter almond note like in the original vintage Hypnotic Poison and dark but smooth wood notes to complete it, with no dusty, cloying, asthma inducing myrrh to mess it all up. All in all, this is what I'd imagine the original Jasmin Noir to smell like before it was finalized and put out for sale, like a rough draft. Same DNA for sure, very similar in general, but this is sharp with rough edges, whereas the original is smooth, well blended, rounded, perfected, and elegant, sexy, and one of a kind as a result. I feel bad for writing such a negative review as I am a BIG fan of Bvlgari's perfumes, but this is a huge miss for me. If you do like this one and it works with your skin chemistry, my only request is please don't overspray-it's a sillage beast, which is great if you are a fan!

Jasmine, where you at? I made the mistake of thinking this would be jasmine dominant, that it would simply be a darker creation revolving around the jasmine itself. The jasmine is non-existent on me. Considering this is discontinued and pretty rare, I spent a good amount for the samples alone, and I'm bummed. I sprayed on my chest, wrists, behind my ears to get the full experience and was certainly confused. I had the original (2008 release) of Jasmin Noir, and the jasmine was beautiful in it. I figured this L'Essence would be what I described above - jasmine, but darker. It's pink pepper city, citrus twist, heavy on the tonka and woody notes, of which oud is clearly detectable. Licorice is at play, here, too. I hate to say it, but after the initial spray, this turns into Oud Noir L'Essence. Quite boring, honestly. Anyway, I'll take responsibility for my expectations, sure; they deceived me. Jasmin Noir L'Essence clearly isn't supposed to be jasmine-dominant, ironically. I will have to try the Splendida version, or search for my jasmine fix elsewhere.

I cannot wear the original Jasmin Noir, because the jasmine note becomes headache-inducing for me. This version however, is a much deeper, woodier scent on my skin. The jasmine is tame, and only noticeable through the heart phase. Once the fragrance dries down, it becomes warm, musky and woody. I detect mostly myrhh, licorice, and woodsy notes. It's still not quite right for my skin (too much licorice!), but from the perspective of someone who prefers woodier perfumes, I think it's a great improvement over the original!

I don't like it at all. Here's where Jasmin Noir stops to be jasmine. This perfume is a sweet, sultry, buttery oriental. Heavy on tonka, licorice and almonds - and not so much about jasmine. Not speaking of bergamot or pink pepper. Despite it being heady, it's quite short-living, and its sillage is also weak as for something that is called "L'Essence". Is it nice? I believe so. Sensual? Yes. Sophisticated / unique? Not at all. Thumb down!

Fragrance Review For Jasmin Noir L'Essence Eau de Parfum Bvulgari Top Notes Bergamot Pink Pepper Middle Notes Jasmine Almond Base Notes Myrrh Licorice Woodsy Notes Tonka Bean Right off the bottle without a single spritz, this fragrance is a signature Bvulgari. It had the same sweeet and spicy almost tobacco like scent that I'd enjoyed in my favorite of their 'tea' line Eau Parfumee The Rouge. Bvulgari is classy and sophisticated though linear and simple. With only a few notes this fragrance is quite easy to wear but it has it's time and place and each Bvulgari perfume seems to me like a piece in a fashion line or article of clothing in your wardrobe. I had hoped that this scent would evoke something strongly Oriental or Arabic, something luxurious and like dark onyx jewelry. It's not a hardcore Oriental but it can still pass for a sweet Oriental and in fact I detected a little nod to Samsara by Guerlain, with the licorice note that is. The first spritz and the early stages are probably the finest for me though it never got dull or flat and remained fresh and intoxicating. Jasmin Noir opens with a distinctive note of pink pepper which I felt smelled akin to red berries or like a dark cherry but not as in cherry Coke. This is a fruity berry scent that although is quite sweet it's not a headache inducer nor girly girl or saccharine. She is an elegant berry (i.e. Dior Poison) with a mature femininity. Think sexy mom or cougar. Cosmetic. Smells of make-up, rouge, lipstick, powder, and leather, suede, the interior of a woman's expensive designer leather handbag or purse. The scent does seem to suit a woman who has glamorized herself up for a night on the town in a sexy evening gown or cocktail dress preferably in darker colors of midnight blue deep purple or black, as well as scarlet red. The pink pepper is quite delicious and serves as an intro to a rather balsamic sort of jasmine sambac. Jasmine Noir? This is Jasmine Rouge! She is bold and fragrant sweet and strong. This has very little of the darker or 'noir' elements the name would suggest. Even Tom Ford Black Orchid has that or vintage Donna Karan. The jasmine scent here is not a night blooming jasmine but rather a very soft heady trail of jasmine petals. This is not a jasmine bush and lacks the green notes found in the original Jasmin Noir. This flanker has a more modern easy to wear and casual sweetness. The jasmine is not exotic but wait a while and you get into Samsara territory. As the scent begins to dry, there's a slightly smoky accord which is the note of myrrh. The myrrh is not as potent as other incense based notes including benzoin. It's detectable but it's not long lasting nor the main attraction. In the dry down the licorice scent is the strongest. I love the licorice in Samsara so I was delighted to find it in Jasmin Noir. This is a gourmand peppery licorice note which blends rather well with the top pink pepper or berry. It also features almond which is noticeable and is in tune with the woodsy notes. Smells milky silky and leathery/musky. At times these gourmand notes married to musk remind me of Violet Blonde by Tom Ford which also share notes with this including pink pepper only Jasmin Noir substitutes the violet in Violet Blonde with jasmine. Finally the driest portions of the fragrance in it's conclusion seems to be a dry vanilla and a bit of wood. There's a lingering smokiness out of the myrrh which becomes a bit unisex and like tobacco which when blended with the vanilla and woods could be vaguely unisex/masculine. The cosmetic vibe, the jasmine floral and the licorice, however, keeps this in a very feminine realm. For me this is a safe Oriental and a fine intro to sexier mature fragrances for a woman who has just turned 30 and wants to wear something sexy provocative and yet elegant. It's suited to any time of year but because it's ultimately balsamic warm and spicy, it's probably most attractive in the fall and winter time. This would make a fine fragrance for this month of November and through the holidays and into January February if you live in a colder climates. It smells great with leather jackets and faux fur coats and of course with beautiful sexy classy dresses. I wore this to a dinner with my Muslim friends. I have two. Charita is from India but she was raised a Muslim and has lived in the United Arab Emirates Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as London UK. I have a Pakistani friend whose son has survived children's cancer. It was his birthday today and we went out to dinner with his parents. Charita smelled it on me and immediately recognized it as Jasmin Noir. She paid me a compliment. I find it to be absolutely perfect and mildly Oriental and would smell good on an ethnic lady with brown skin like a Latina or Arab Middle Eastern woman - dark hair, brown hair, and smoky make up and dark fingernails. This is very sexy and exotic but not flamboyant nor aggressive. The whole thing is soft and delicate sweet and easy to wear and love.

I was captivated by this scent. Bought original noir EDT. Spray, then blissful blissfulness for all of about 30 min......I seriously almost cried. How could such a beautiful scent leave me so soon? How could it? How dare it...... Having not had a signiture scent in nearly 2 decades, I relished those 30 minutes in disbelief and shock that I had again found something I could call my very own. And then like a dream she was gone. I returned my EDT. I would go broke with the amount I was using. I figured I'd try the EDP and was waiting for a significant holiday or reason to splurge. I was in tjmaxx the other day and there was a lonely gift set of Jasmin noir l'essence. Quickly snagged it into my cart and opened fragrantica. "A more intense version of jasmin noir"..... Sold Oh. My goodness. I have found her. The queen mother of all Jasmin Noir. I could easily swipe my arm across my vanity in dramatic movie love scene style and knock all my other fumes to the floor and place my l'essence in the center on a pedestal. Rich resin, velvety dark floral, the licorice note seriously makes my eyes roll back in my head. This is a very specific perfume. I can't even explain how good it is. If you are a fan then you know what I mean. My other likes in the "dark" category are Victoria's Secret seduction orchid no1, tom ford dark orchid, obsession dark for men, I'm not going to go thru the notes and ooo and ahhh because others have done perfect jobs of that. This is a true noir. Not gourmand like we're all used too. Not edible smelling. It's deep. Mysterious. Rich. Velvety. Perfect.

Thais is a true beauty. I acquired it some time ago but the warm weather didn't bring out its full potential. To fully appreciate this scent one needs a cooler/ cold weather though early Spring could work too. There is a rather chilly warmth to it. The first spray opens up to a spicy liquorice Jasmin with a woody undertone. It is deep, fresh and yet smoky and semi sweet as the Myrrh starts giving. From this on it goes to develop a beautiful balance between fresh/smoky/spicy/ floral. The jasmine note is divine with echoes of an ever so slight animalic touch and so heady it takes your breath away. Overtime a sweetnes develops but it is not cloying. It is rather wrapped in wood and spice. I think the main players here are pepper, jasmin and liquorice engulfed in myrrh. It gets deeper and woodier in time with almond adding a tiny bitter dimension that works well with myrrh. Towards the end it gets a little sweeter but still retaining its semi floral smoky presence. I am totally besotted. This is not a fragrance for a wallflower, it has a presence yet it is sophisticated and elegant. I imagine a beautiful woman dressed in a pale silk shirt and skirt with loose, wavy hair and heels enjoying it though it borders well on Unisex. Mesmerizing! For those who love a deep, woody, smoky, spicy Jasmin this scent is a must!

I want to say to anyone who can answer my question if the Jasmin Noir I have is this one because I think it is smell to me like it should be this one. I bought it for a friend who got out of the hospital 2 week ago but also one for me when I was shopping at Burlington Coat Factory. They sold it only for 24.99 and was so surprised it was Bvulgari I cannot believe it! Bvulgari is very expensive and the house make beautiful jewelry. This came in black box with the brand Bvulgari on it but say it was made in China. The name was Jasmin Noir Essence of a Jeweler. The bottle inside was a miniature metallic bottle with the top shape like a fan. It came with a pouch to put the bottle. Smell at first peppery sharp sweet very sweet and floral with a jasmine. Lots of jasmine so sweet and if put too much on gave me a headache. The jasmine calm down and I smell licorice and almond with a dark wood very nice. Smell sexy and sophisticated powdery womanly. I like to wear this for my dinner party with girlfriends. My friend love it when I buy for her. But I think is cheap knockoff made in China. O well is beautiful. I will buy the real orignal Bvulgari Jasmin Noir the first one o Eau de Parfum or Eau de Toilette which one ?

I first blind bought the EDT for cheap, and it's ridiculous with it's 30 seconds of watery fragrance. Then the EDP for a great price... and it's nice. I like it, but still too weak and Mariah Carey's "M" is similar and very potent (cheap too!). But from the reviews-- I had to like this. I am desperate to find the perfect resin/tonka/almond/licorice bomb. And these 50ml can be found very affordably on ebay. So I did. And.... still too darn weak! What is wrong with me? My nose? Or just Bvlgari? I love the immediate opening of the resins/myrrh/licorice/almond and it's just about perfect... but... then it dries down to.... THAT BABY POOP other people talk about! Haha! I thought people were nuts, but I get it now. A greasy powdery smell.... poopy jasmine. But honestly, if this was potent/powerful I would still love it. I'm just getting light whiffs of powder-poo. It seemed to last (although lightly)... all night on my shirt... but sillage is just not there. Bummer. I also had a $10 off coupon for ebay and bought the L'Elixir for $16 total. I doubt that one will impress me, but the candied orange note sounds delish!

I actually sprayed this on my wrist by accident; I wanted to try the EDP, but I became distracted by the SA and cue disaster (lol) At first, it was kind of a too strong, woody-spicy floral. I noticed the jasmine and the wood, and quite a bit of pepper. After about an hour, it started to settle, it was no longer so noticeable, and I could also smell the almond and the tonka. It dries down to a softer, woody jasmine. It's a very elegant fragance; too elegant for me, actually! I really like it, but I don't think I would wear it too much, and it's not very 'me', even though I love jasmine like nothing else :) It's the kind of scent I always imagine on wealthy, sexy women with long black dresses (and sadly I'm not) I can easily see this as a classic; sadly, it doesn't seem to get much attention. I want to try the EDP now, in hopes that it will be more wearable for me :)

First of all - this is not a safe blind buy or a gift idea (unless you know for a fact it's wanted, of course). I tried it today at a friend's, just because I never reach for the black bottles while trying out perfumes for myself. Those (to me) just seem too hard to pull off. This one is different. But it's definitely a "black bottle scent" - meaning that is heavy, strong, smokey and sweet (but in a grown up, no-nonsense way). I can almost imagine a man wearing this... presumably because of the myrh and woody notes. But the sweet flowery part is not to be disregarded (which is why I said "almost"). Sillage and longevity are remarkable, worth the price. If you're into making a statement with your perfume - try this. But self-confidence is mandatory.

I have Jasmin Noir in the EDT, EDP, L'Essence, and L'Elixir AND.... I have to say: ARMAF HUNTER for WOMEN dupes them all! What a score! I saw Hunter compared on the L'Essence page, and it's really affordable. I've not heard of Armaf before (and I'm a perfume junkie with 350 bottles) and it CAN be hard to find... I found a 100ml of Hunter at maxaroma.com for $22. I will comment on lasting power/potency/sillage after a proper wear tonight. Right now I have a tissue test, and even before I sprayed the bottle I knew this was just like Jasmin Noir. YUMMY! Oh bummer. Turns out, Hunter has very little potency/longevity/sillage. Meh. Just no potency. Maybe it's my nose/weather/chemistry tho.

I work in fragrance, and have been looking for a new fall favorite. I thought I had found it in gucci guilty intense. I love the guilty, but it dies down pretty fast. I usually am turned off by bvlgari frag., but the other day I put on the jasmine noir essence and the guilty on my other arm. After the overpowering start, the jasmine noir became lovely. Stayed on , and got better by the hour. I still love it and. My fav. Is to mix the two frag. This makes the guilty last longer and gives it a hint of jasmine.

I was unsure whether or not I should get the original Jasmin Noir or this- now that I have sampled both I can say that: The original is a gorgeous milky, creamy jasmin with hints of licorice. This one is a gorgeous scent, a little more of a spice note at first coming from the pink pepper and as it dries down a ton more vanilla. Jasmin Noir L'essence is like the original formulation with the addition of a beautiful vanilla reminiscent of V&R Spicebomb or Dior Addict....gorgeous!

Nice and creamy, only a bit weak in projection (thou stronger and sweeter than original Jasmin Noir) so I don't see it as the night type perfume, although is designed to be. Creation is almost similar but less sweet than Yves Rocher Vanille Noire. Dries to jasmine/vanilla powdery skin scent, with an aromatic vibe. Anyway, I don't regret having this delicious fume, and sometimes when over sprayed, there is even certain chocolate note...sexy ;)

So... I tried this in the hope of finding a Samsara's vibe, which is not the case, if not a fraction given by woody notes and a little tonka. This is a very elegant, vaguely sultry yet elegant scent and I can understand how it appeals demanding tastes for real perfume. After a while also licorice makes it peak out and jasmin is there. The only not nice part of this scent is that at some stage on my skin it smells like an old wardrobe.
