I'm not sure how this is similar to Man in Black other than their name similarity - I suppose they share that nice, boozy note (though opening with a strong citrus in this case), but the other notes make this one much, much closer to original Bvlgari Man, their primary difference being that same boozy citrus accord. I'm also not sure why some are calling this sweet. I know sweet, I like sweet a lot of the time, and this would only seem sweet when compared to some of the drier stuff out there, like classic tart chypres, leather bombs, or dry summer aquatics. Among its contemporary men's releases this is actually on the dry side. A little floral help from the tuberose, but not what I'd call sweet - the drydown is slightly powdery but still primarily the woods and aromatics. For my money, this is still spectacular for the spring/summer - it's flexible enough for all-day use, formal or casual, but it could also serve very well as the evening, after-work pairing following a daytime application of original Bvlgari Man. It has a touch of Iso-e-super, or something close, that gives the woods that cool, airy lift throughout, most detectable after that nice rum note calms down. I definitely agree with those who find this similar to BDC, close the the EDT once they've both dried down.

I've owned this for about 6 months, and suddenly it hit me what this is. Take the original Man In Black dna, and throw Chanel Allure Home Sport Eau Extreme over the top. However, just don't expect it to be as long lasting. True to Bvlgari trends of late, they've taken something massively popular to stay modern, and put their own spin on it, adding some of their brand touches of elegance, masculinity, and subtlety. It may be easy to judge some of their newer releases, due to their lack of originality. But as a company, they have been around since 1884, catering to the world's richest with high luxury. So they must have some idea of what they are doing in the long-run. I think, when dealing with the world's richest for so long, they get a taste of what they really want and don't want, compared to a fragrance brand that makes most of it's money off of selling $80 teenager fragrances. to each, their own though, in the fragrance industry.

As said below, this is a fresher version of Man in Black. The leather was replaced with woody green notes, and there is a bit less spice, which is replaced by just a hint of citrus. Very, very small amount of powder in the dry-down. To me this is what Bvlgari Man Wood Essence should have smelled like. It is a spicy freshie, and a very pleasing masculine scent. I wear this to church and to the office weekly. It sits very close to the skin after about 30 minutes and lasts about 5 hours. It would probably be my signature fragrance if it lasted longer and projected just a bit better. Very safe and versatile year round fragrance for a 30+ man, and a safe gift for someone who can't have heavy projection at work, doesn't wear fragrances often, or who simply likes to smell nice without making a bold statement.

I received this as a gift last Christmas. Since then I've been wearing this on and off - especially when I don't know what perfume to wear I reach out for this. It has been a like since the first time I smelled it, growing into a big love, I think. I'm not sure if I'd call it citrus or fresh, maybe a winter freshie. I'm quite impressed with the longevity on my skin, I still get whiffs after a full day at work and I can smell it on my clothes the next day. I've received a few compliments within the first hour of wearing this, so I'm not sure about how long and how far it projects, but it's such a nice fragrance that lasts for a long time (great for an edt) that I wouldn't mind moderate projection and sillage. So yes, it's definitely an unexpected growing love.

My favorite scent ever. Sad that it was discontinued and the other Man in Blacks are totally different (worse in my opinion). Every time I find a bottle I still buy, but now rare to find and only some people selling open flasks for 3x the price. I think there's a big component of how the perfume reacts to your skin and blends with your natural pheromones. Unfortunately, ot doesn't stay for too long, maybe 3 hours from close by. First ones I bought in 2016 seemed to last longer. I think this was discontinued in 2018. I have just found a similar frangrance (in my opinion), just some different notes. It's Yves Rocher Voile D'Ocre.

for the fans of man in black, this is wonderful addition in summer.i love the extreme, and this now.it takes out the pepper and leather which were dark, and one can rock this in summer days when its breezy,the rum note mixes wonderfully with citruses and florals like tuebrose and orange blossom, and it performs well on me.will work all year round.reviewed it just a while ago. id recommend this for college and up.can be your signature scent and formal scent. also can be used in spring and autumn, but if you have man in black it may seem familiar on the drydown, great frag none the less. 8/10

I truly feel bad for those who can’t smell this properly on their skin as this juice is godly. It is unequivocally one of the best, smoothest and most wonderful smelling fragrances I’ve yet to have the chance to smell. To me this is ideally for spring and summer and even fall. I could see it in winter but would rather it’s bigger stronger older brother MIB edp do his thing then. But if you wanna use it year round for whatever reason it can do it. This is absolutely blind but worthy if you like Mr. Morillas creations and know the notes. Just get some, you’ll love it!

This isn't a 'lighter' man in black. Not at all. It's a citrus floral with a light spice. Like the original man, the opening is a noisy bouquet of notes that settles very quickly into something just above a skin scent. A little disappointing in that respect; however, it's a tester strip sample, so longevity and projection may vary a little based on skin type. To my mind, it's slightly brighter YSL L'homme. The orange blossom is the dominant note in this frag, and it's projecting through well after a few hours.

Another awesome Bvlgari and Alberto Morillas masterpiece! Boozy, floral, amber, dark, spicy with a citrus hint. Cologne is a light version of Man in Black. It has the same lovely and dark vibe of the original but much more daytime and summer night. Cologne is perfect for spring and fall. It is difficult to choose which is better: cologne or original? Both are amazing! Good longevity 6-8 hrs Sillage is good, not strong but around 3 hours before become close to skin. It is easily one of my top 5 !

if you already have more than 10-12 fragrance in your collection ( the usual top hitters) then you need to look into this one! this is good. really good! actually can be used day or night, very versatile, hot or cooler weather, office or date. this works. and it last 8hrs easy. and definitely, you will not smell like the next person! give this a try if you see it! sample it. i love it, been wearing it since 2016! and I love it more today then i did in 2016! :D

This one is super underrated. It smells different depending on the season. In winter it smells similar to Chanel Allure Homme Sport EE + Man in Black. However, my preferred wearing is on summer nights. The rum accord lends to a night out and it manages to be sweet and seductive while being fresh at the same time and never gets cloying even on the muggiest of evenings. Glad I picked this up at chemist warehouse for $40 AUD when I did

High marks due to the uniqueness. Does anything else really smell like this? I mean, besides Bvlgari Man in Black. This one is arguably more versatile than Man in Black.. meaning I think it can be worn in warmer weather as well, not just cooler/colder weather like MiB. The tuberose with leathery freshness make this unique. I’m glad I added this to my collection and will include it in my office rotation. Recommended.

Bought this from Ross thinking it was Man in Black, but may be happier with what I got. This opens up with a sweet, flirty, metrosexual vibe with enough sillage to be noticeable but not intrusive. Where it shines, however, is the drydown. A couple hours in it fades to an irresistibly dark, masculine skin scent which will then last another 7 or so hours. For me, it's pretty much the perfect late night date fragrance.

Very heavy on the citrus on opening with not a lot of that rum, but very crisp and fresh. Floral notes start to sneak in and sit well and balanced. Dry down features one of my favorite woody/musky mixtures I've experienced. Very masculine, so that's something to keep in mind depending on outfits and environments. Overall an incredible fragrance that lasts a decently long time and turns heads.

I was skeptical about this "intense freshness and oriental sensuality" concept. However, it's actually there. Bulgari Man Black Cologne has a unique boozy-citrusy blend that works just finely. The result is a classy scent, creamy and fresh at the same time. It's quite versatile and a compliment magnet. Highly recommended, specially for office use. 9/10

This is a chic dark cologne. Underrated for sure. Very Elegant for nights out and fits so good if you are dressed up. It is unusual with the Citrus/rum/ floral combination. Another Original creation from the legendary Alberto Morillas. Average longevity and projection. Dont put high expectations and enjoy it given its cheap online price.

this and 'a fantastic scent very masculine .. not' a cologne for me .Dont expect a typical fresh citrus cologne .. It is fresh but less fresh of extreme version . I like it very much but the name is wrong for me iIs not a cologne!!!! it is a ligther version of the original men in black with same changes.... Very good... 9/10

On me this is a very different scent on clothes than skin. The citruses, green notes and the flowers is much more prominent on clothes, not much of amber and no rum what so ever. Maybe I can use this in the spring/summer if only spray on clothes and fall/winter time when sprayed on skin 🤔 A great scent, love it!

This is like taking Bvlgari Man in Black and throwing Versace pour Homme over the Top. Moderate sillage like most all Bvlgari (which I think is a classy amount of sillage). And for me, I spray it in my hair, and it lasts at least an 8 hour work day. But definitely for summer.

It cruises between Bvlgari Man and the ever-popular Man in Black. It's an option for MIB lovers to wear on warmer days. It still has a glassy smell (Rum) and brings the novelty of being a little floral with Neroli and Tuberose. A perfect Cuba Libre!

As a fan of Bvlgari i had to blindbuy this and i am glad i did, i really like it, one of the best designer fragrances this year so far in my opinion, smells like quality fresh and spicy.

Love this Scent just like love the entire Bulgari Man collection! This scent is very sophisticated and dries down very creamy and warming for me.

I really like this one. It's super unique and lasts long, especially for EDT. Hard to get now but if you want something different check it out

PREJUDICE: It's a Morillas, he seldom fails me. Supposedly "warm and fresh at the same time", plus rum. 1st IMPRESSION. Wow, this is nice. Amber hug that's bright and fresh spicy. I want to keep sniffing it. Rum okay, I get it. Orange and flowers, definitely. 2nd WEAR. White floral. It's sort of thin, yet warm. Usually warm scents are thick. Am I crazy saying it has the blueprint of Morillas's work in Versace Pour Homme? Something lovely jumps up after the opening, orange blossom or tuberose or both. 3rd WEAR. I bought a full bottle. The scent is divine. Fresh but with cozyness. Very "perfume-y", classic stuff. Orange & rum grog feel, but too bright and floral to smell sugary. Probably the tuberose? Sprayer squirts instead of spraying unless you push hard all the way down. That's okay since this one is made to be oversprayed at least right now in the winter. VERDICT: Black Cologne is like liquid fire made of flowers. That grog feel carries for several hours, the flowers then fade into the background, but the fragrance isn't over yet: there's a supple leather and a nice, soft amber dry down for several hours left. Great stuff. EDIT: I've smelled Man in Black since. It has more leather and spice but and they are surprisingly similar tuberose-centric frags - both great.

Just got this. It isn't what I expected. From the note numbers I expected more citrus but to me it it more tuberrose and booze. That tuberose gives it that Smokey, floral, spicy menthol tingle and then the boozy notes sweeten it up, followed by the citrus notes in that order of strength for me. I love it. It is better than I thought it would be. Pleasantly surprised that citrus doesn't dominate this fragrance. It is more spring/fall scent. Could be worn cooler summer nights but not typically. On me 2' sillage but leaves a good trail. Not a beast but not weak. My opinion this opens similar to Burberry London and/or Man in Black just not quite as loud and then settles into a cleaner, sweeter, woodier Cartier Declaration. After 30 minutes to 1 HR it sits pretty close to my skin but the scent will last there for around 5 more hours. Good to layer in a variety of months with brighter scents if you so choose. This is not a freshie, it is quite masculine, almost animalic but sweetened with booze and light citrus. Glad I blind bought it. Scent 8/10 Sillage 5.5/10 Longevity 7/10 Unique 7.5/10 Age 25+ All occasions Spring/Fall and cool summer nights.

A boozy floral?! Why not! On a test paper I get the citrusy opening, but on my skin it's entirely a sweet rhum accord where the tuberose takes the lead over orange blossoms and those mysterious green notes. In the drydown I get more sweetness from the amber and the benzoin (I smell honey too), which gives it a warm and rich profile. This is not a gourmand sweetness though hence it will appeal to a wider group of people and the accords are really well done, without being cloying. Man Black Cologne is definitely masculine in a sweet playful way, but given the tons of white floral notes it could be easily worn by ladies too, and I feel is more targeted to a slightly younger audience (mid-20's to early-30's). The cologne in the name mostly refers to the citrusy opening I didn't smell on my skin, and probably a hint to its performance: I get just a few hours of projection and then another few of skin scent.

The rum and citrus notes really hit well in the first 30 minutes or so, after that the slight sweetness comes in and the citrus loses its power. The rum note remains, projecting decently well for the next hour. After the first hour, it is simply the amber and some sweetness to it that sticks very close and does not project at all. Works well in the hot weather as the mild sweetness isn't cloying though rum is a night mood. Sillage is not very strong after an hour, and it dies off soon after very weak fragrance but if you're going out at night for just an hour or so this would work well. Overall, I like it, though I wish it would last longer.

BVL MANblack is a magmatic powerful fragance, deep but solid, arid and dusty at the same time, wood in strong tune but subtle and friendly at the end. With Cologne, you can identify that ideas in a luminous appealing way. Very comfortable and easy but at the same time inviting... you can identify the classic tea note in bvl, some florals tune mixed with aromatic spices and a subtle powdery touch at the end making this version engaging than the original bvl _MAN_ Of course its not so deep like black but thats the idea, a diferent side in the brightness aura.

I like this scent a lot and think it is pretty good for the price. The issue with this bottle (and with my bottle of bvlgari aqva atlantiqve) is that the atomizer sucks. Most times when I spritz if I don’t press fast enough it doesn’t spray a nice even mist. It comes out like this little stream which starts dripping down my neck instead of nice even application. Sort of feels like it’s taking this little piss on me :( Not the experience you want while applying a fragrance.

Enjoyable scent. Floral citrus, a little green and boozy. The opening is very nice. The dry down appears to retain these notes with addition of resinous woods. Well balanced. Firm spray needed to atomize. Soft will bring a stream. Bvlgari Man Black Cologne should be a 4 seasons day or night casual allrounder. As a EdC it has no staying power. May give this one away. Man In Black next time.

First impressions: A strong presence of the DNA of the man in black, especially that lovely rum note. Seems like a watered down and less spicy man in black, a bit more fresh too, I have the "original" so I don't see the point of having this one. I did quite like it, if you like the smell of man in black but find it too strong you will like this one, but I still prefer man in black.

Like a fresher, less sweet but also sharper Man in Black. I get lots of leather as in Main in Black even though it ́s not listed. Maybe some ingredients together make that illusion. Just like with Man in Black I hated it from the beginning as I don ́t like leather, but it has grown on me and now I actually like it a little. I think Man in Black is a bit better as it is less sharp.

This smells so close to Chanell's Allure Homme Sport eau extreme with some notes that are slightly different. I would say it's 80-9p% similar. One thing to note is that I find Allure homme more powdery (something I enjoy) and eau extreme is more concentrated/projects better. If you enjoy this scent profile I would recommend trying the Chanel as it is overall better.

This is described as a cologne but is an EDT in strength ,creamy undertones at the base and very floral in the heart of this fragrance ,the orange blossom is quite musky in this and gives this a good projection for a few hours. This is a warming and comforting smell,whilst being a scent that has got me compliments for how well it lingers in he air

Very good. Man Black Cologne is similar to Man in Black EDP, but MBC has toned down the warmth of the rum and tobacco found in MIB, so MBC comes off as spicier, fresher and better for warmer weather days. Performance is good. Is owning both redundant? A little. I do love my two MIB bottles.

Such a shame a scent like this perfoms this bad. This isn a very masculine warm nights type of scent, a date near the beach or by the pool. The boozy smell makes it interesting and she will love it, they all do. But with this kind of performance better keep the bottle by your side lol.

it really surprises me a lot that this one is not mentioned and celebrated more often. cuz it's one of the favorites in my collection ! fresh yet a bit dark too ! like everything about it.... nice opening and dry down is just as fine ! and it's Alberto Morillas again, after all :)

I tested this today and i like it. That Rum note from the original blended with some green and citrusy notes, but with a strong sandalwood, makes it stand out from his precessors but not groundbreaking. Anyway, a very woody and boozy scent.

I never thought a scent can be sweet, warm and fresh at the same time, but here we are. Great scent, only issue is has almost no projection, after 15 minutes it gets difficult to be called even a skin scent, and last 2-3 hours at max.

i must to try this better. because a summer scent with rum,citruses,amber,TUBEROUSE,benzoin and orange flower could be fantastic. but for the second time I tried it I was not at all given good impressions.

This Bvlgari is gorgeous. A perfect mix of citrus notes, rum, amber and floral notes. Winter fragrance that leaves its mark even in warmer climates. After all, Morillas always leaves its mark! GREAT!
