Sahare

This is a gorgeous rose fragrance, but I need to know more. I need to know about the process of choosing a Taif rose and how all the other ingredients came together. I need to know whether the perfumer went to Saudi Arabia and smelled these roses in person, but probably not since they come from the mountainous area of Mecca. I'm blown away with the knowledge that each Taif rose has exactly 30 petals, and it takes 10,000 to 15,000 roses to create a single vial of Taif rose essential oil. Thus, why Bvlgari lists the note as "precious" Taif rose accord. I'm not a huge rose fan, but there are some rose fragrances that are just gorgeous, and this is one of them. It's perfectly crafted with every ingredient creating a beautiful whole. At first, the fragrance smells like a rich and velvety rose, but all the nuances of the other ingredients tease at the edges. There's precipice when it comes to rose -- a cliff that's easy to tumble over when perfumers mix too much of some ingredients and it starts to smell like mixing toothpaste and orange juice tastes. This perfumer certainly teeters on the edge, but he doesn't push the rose scent into the abyss by adding too much of a good thing. The citrus notes are there (more lemon peel than anything), but they're in the exact right proportion, like a bubble that would burst if you gave it one more puff but you don't. The same goes for the ambergris. It occasionally provides a salty note and sometimes a bit of a tinge of seaweed, but it doesn't push it too far. You even get the black pepper notes occasionally, flitting across the edges of the rose petals before floating away on the wind. Overall, this fragrance surprised me and delighted me. Even though the Sahara desert is across the Red Sea from Saudi Arabia, where Taif roses grow, I can still conjure up an image for the name, with warm winds blowing the fragrance of Taif roses all the way across a whale-filled Red Sea and into the Sahara.

I've smelled this 3 or 4 times in store now, paper and skin each time. Absolutely the best rose scent I've smelled for me. The rose is neither feminine nor masculine leaning, on my skin it stayed throughout the past 8 hours now this slightly sweet, deep beautiful rose that is unique to the taif rose. I've smelled the bulgarian rose/rose in Les Sables Roses, and then the Turkish and Bulgarian rose in Oud Satin mood, and it's just simply different in its entirety to my nose. It is however quite linear, on my skin from start to finish it gives that deep beautiful Taif Rose, which to some may be boring if they aren't obsessed with the scent profile of the Taif Rose. I personally love it, and think it's a great unisex fragrance. If you are able to get it on a discounter, I recommend it. It will be a long lasting, projecting, deep and slightly sweet rose scent that's not like the rest.

I dont know who thinks the smells like Oud Satin Mood that is a very cloying sickly sweet rose vanilla combo with an oud accord. Disgusting. This is a beautiful green rose slightly spiced in the opening. Its voluptuous and voluminous so it’s a statement to wear this. Very elegant and bold unisex but definitely leans femme. Retail is crazy. Discounters at $235 makes u think at least if its worth pulling the trigger or not. I still prefer POAL to this because thats even more elegant. However this fragrance’s virtue and quite possibly the only reason I would consider it while owning POAL is you could wear this in the summer even in extremely high heat. Yann has a thing about him. Every once in a while he drops something totally out of the box Moshino Toy Boy and TF Santal Blush I would say this is an evolution of Toy Boy. Toy Boy goes to Cannes if you will.

I’ve been taking less interest in hardcore niche perfumes in favor of designer exclusive collections. Bvlgari’s exclusive line has some beauties. Strong, beautiful unisex rose. The citrus opening, compliments of the lemon and bergamot, don’t blast you with a citrus opening, but rather, they add a subtle freshness and brighten the gorgeous Taif rose note. Black pepper in the mid also adds olfactory diversity without making the fragrance “peppery.” The myrrh and ambergris in the base add depth and longevity, perfectly complementing the rose. The subtle spice, and bright freshness transition to a rich, sexy warmth in the drydown. This is a banger. Worth $460? Maybe. If money was not an issue, I’d drop that wad of cash in a heartbeat for this beautiful gem.

This is a beautiful Rosey clean scent that lingers 10+ hours. It is not too rosey or wayy too sweet but has the perfect balance. Like today I sprayed twice and it lasted for the whole day. My mother thinks this smells way too strong but she just doesn't understand my love for strong rosey clean scents that only need a couple of sprays to actually last 10+ hours. I wish I had the whole bottle, however, I just have the sample. I am currently saving my last few sprays for any future events.

I guess maybe it’s the combination of the rose and citrus, but this smells very like “red fruit” to me. I was surprised to not see any listed in the notes. 10 weeks later: This is so addicting and has nuclear longevity. I put a sprayed sample card in my wallet 2.5 months ago, and every time I pull out my credit card—which never touched the sample card—I still get an intense waft of fruity red rose. To die for, and at this price, you might have to!

Tried this at Doha duty free in the early April but wasn’t too impressed with it at first. But the rose convinced me otherwise as I flew towards Italy. Tried finding it during my trip both in Italy and France but couldn’t find any in stock. Fortunately I managed to get it on my transit back at Doha. The rose is the most prominent here, don’t let the notes convince you otherwise. Lovely and long lasting, while remaining light and non intrusive.

Received a sample and man it’s such a beautiful citrus rose scent with a little kick of spice to it. This fragrance projects and lasts a long time. An easy 7 hours working, 12+ skin scent. I would say it’s unisex but I can see why a lot of people say it’s quite feminine. My only con is that retail price. Stupid expensive

Caught this one in the wild. Stopped me dead in my track as I asked dude what he was wearing. 30 minutes later I was at Saks getting a bottle of it. Kind of remind me of satin mood, but different and more refined. To see the true beauty of this, you'll need to smell it second hand on someone.

Gorgeous citrus opening that melts into a lovely and complex rose scent, mingling nicely with the ambery dry down. Honestly this perfume smells very unisex to me and also very classy and luxe. If not for the price tag being so high I'd definitely be scrambling for a full size bottle.

Please know Sahare you will be competing directly with Garanat and Les Sables Roses for your success. I still believe we have not reached the best Male Rose Fragrance yet and now it is your turn Sahare to prove what you got

Amazing rose scent with so much depth. One of the better rose scents out there without a doubt. Really long lasting and high quality. Completely unisex.

Similar rose note to osm, but much more peppery and lacking smooth oud. Smells luxurious though

Spicy metallic rose. Sahare is an interesting rose fragrance. It's quite ambery but it also has a zingy and spicy quality during the opening from some citruses and pepper, whereas the deep dry down is a sweet and musky rose scent. This does evolve quite a lot on skin, which made it an "entertaining" wear, so to speak. The rose is overwhelmed a little by the ambers and citruses during the opening, but as it begins to dry the rose asserts its dominance and becomes the main focus of the fragrance. Between the second and third hour this starts smelling very metallic, picture the taste you get from licking a coin or another small piece of metal and place it behind the rose, almost like it's perched on its shoulder. It's really odd but it's not distasteful or poorly done. I'm assuming it might be the way it reacts on my skin because many people say this dries down quite animalic, but it doesn't smell animalic at any point in my opinion. As it continues to dry the scent becomes even softer and the rose is left alone, slightly powdery and sweet but still just as captivating, I find this stage especially great. I enjoyed wearing Sahare today but Garanat is undoubtedly more up my alley. Performance is good overall. Projection seems to be strong but sillage isn't too dense, so this is a bit understated as a result. I couldn't smell this as much throughout the day as other fragrances I've worn but I did keep catching light whiffs of this persistently for multiple hours. Longevity is an effortless 8+ hours, this is still very present on both of my arms.

This was love at 1st sniff... I went to Nordstrom for something else but of course I stopped in the fragrance section. A sales representative started giving me samples of the Bvlgari Le Gemme line. I’ve never found one worth the price but went through the pitch in an effort not to be rude. When she spayed Sahare on a card..,, I couldn’t stop smelling it. I had her spray a sample on the top of my hand and I proceeded to shop. From there I went and shopped, and kept bringing my hand to my nose. I’ve never been a fan of rose, and could not get over how beautiful this cent was. So on my way out of the store I put about four sprays on my clothes. I smelled myself all night long, I ordered it online the next day. This fragrance was on my sweater for over a week. I have been wearing it a lot since receiving it. I’ve yet to receive a compliment but I truly love the smell of this. The price is steep but the way it’s formulated, it is truly worth every penny. It’s a one of one for me although I understand the Oud Satin Mood comparison but this thing does its own thing. A must smell!!

Sahare has a lovely green, sharp rose that is very bold on the top notes. To my nose, it has some citrus middle notes, but it is certainly overpowered by the pepper and rose and it does not stand out enough to make this a brighter perfume. As it dries down, Sahare becomes very powdery, if that's something you'd enjoy. However, my first impression of the perfume was that it smelled cheap -- not that it is not complex, but rather I felt like there was something recognizably "conservative" that just smells boring and old. I imaging that this perfume would not be offensive to many people, but it is certainly not innovative or iconic enough to justify the luxury pricetag that comes with a full bottle. I would definitely recommend a sniff, but I don't think many people would be able to wear the perfume on a daily basis rather than the perfume wearing them.

A bright and uplifting ambery floral. Sahare opens with a strong Taif rose note. The Taif rose note smells slightly cleaned up comparing to a pure Taif rose oil, but it still retains it‘s characteristics. First citrusy, then rosé-rosy with a slight green undertone and at some point nuances of honey and tea. An ambergris accord serves as a potent base and gives the fragrance a sparkly texture. Eventhough not listed, Sahare feels like it also contains a good share of synthetic muscs. It has a certain roundness and feels polished. What‘s interesting is, that with a perfume oil concentration of 31%, Sahare never feels heavy or overwhelming. It always stays bright and sparkly with good projection and great longevity.

A sophisticated ambery floral scent, this is a less smoky incensy and more fresh ambery version of a rose from their earlier Garanat. The perfume has a brief citrus opening but very soon gets to a Taif rose accord (the Taif is subdued with Turkish and other softer roses) and slight pepper. The perfume settles into a powdery bed of synthetic musk, amber (an accord made from labdanum, ambrette and slight ambergris) and slight myrrh. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and very good longevity. One of the lesser offerings of the spectacular La Gemme line but complementary in its own way. Enjoy!

Citrusy , rosey floral and a smooth amber vibe and a warm, spicy, resinous feel. There is a tiny bit of a dirty spicy vibe ever so slightly going on but it’s kinda nice and blends well. Fairly simple overall but it all works really well. A bit reminiscent of oud satin mood with the rose and myrrh vibe going on. Performance seems to be average and on the lighter side. On the dry down I’m left with a citrusy, spicy and resinous rose which is very lovely. The price is just so darn high but it’s is a great scent.

The lemon and bergamot notes nearly drowned out everything else when I tested this. Every now and then I get a hint of the rose or the myrrh, but it’s obvious that the citrus notes run the show on my skin. This is much stronger than I expected; a few modest sprays last well over 12 hours! The sillage is pretty good too, and it last for weeks on clothes. All in all, I liked this a lot and I hope to try it again someday.

Sticky sweet roses with - somewhat boozy - a bit of cherry, ambergris chemicals, and amber with an oud nuance. The scent itself is beautiful, but some sour and sharp green-woody is a nuisance.

I'm a Gourmand gal, never rose, but this is a sweet rose bomb! Love it and have had many compliments, it also lasts forever.

Sahare is a green rose with thorny bramble, tart blackberries and sugary jam. It’s like bramble jam (jello) but with a green citric acid of flower stems. It’s been released at a similar time to Tom Ford’s new Rose Exposed which offers a smoky dark incense rose in comparison with a much bolder character. Sahara is not as good of a rose fragrance as Bvlgari’s own Allegra Magnifying Rose Essence which is a stunning and pure rose in comparison. Another similar (but better) comparison/alternative to Sahare would be Rosa Carnivora. By the 4th hour mark Sahare becomes a metallic powdery scent, then by the 5th hour it’s pulled right back into a skin scent and by the 7th hour the dry-down resembles Orientica’s Floral Rose (which is a much cheaper alternative) and I get a red gummy Harbo candy style scent like ‘Sweet’ by Lolita Lempicka and Tooty Musk. Overall Sahare is a pleasant enough rose scent but I don’t like how acid-green it is, as this gives a chemical sourness even against the candy/berry/sugar. It’d get Orientica’s Floral Rose instead for a fraction of the price.

So sour. This isn’t one of those many rose scents that add tart berries for balance. I get a super sour lemon rose. Like squeezed lemons, no zest or rind for those nice aromatics. The ambery facets are not like in Tygar where it creates super projection off the skin. Instead, it kind of hangs low like a fog over the skin, especially with the resins added. I wouldn’t say this is stinky or sweaty, but the sourness makes it more unpleasant to wear. I brought this on a trip to Sicily and Malta over Christmas time and never did enjoy this one every time I reached for the sample.

The Good: 1)Good Longevity 2)Good Sillage 3)Good Projection The Bad: 1)Extremely synthetic and not particularly high in quality to my nose. 2)Overly sweet, nonspecific fruity accord. It would be better if the tart sweetness was dialed down, and the rose was dialed up a bit. 3)It could be perceived as cloying by some people, and it could be one of those fragrances that causes headaches in some people. This is the type of fragrance that someone at work would have a problem with, not everyone, but at least someone. It is not appropriate for an indoor work environment or closed spaces like an airplane or if you are an Uber or Lyft driver. 4)It is not unisex to my nose, it is firmly feminine. It smells like something an older woman who wears too much make up would enjoy ... thinking it smells flirty and youthful, when in reality it creates the exact opposite impression. 5)If you like it, it will soon be difficult to find because there is no way this thing will remain in production very long. 3/10 and a Fragrantica score of 3.55

I think Yann stole Oud Satin mood from MFK, although the latter smells more refined. This one is a version on drugs. Lol. Opens with a beautiful, feminine dry Rose then a strong masculine pepper and myrrh punch you in the face for about 5 minutes, until ambergris takes center stage and smoothes all the chaos down. I love the opening and the dry down only. Middle notes need refinement for me to absolutely love it. Comes across very masculine. Try it you might love it

This was gorgeous on paper, but it turned so sour and animalic on my skin. The citrus and ambergris overpowered everything else, then the rose and myrrh came in to add cloying sweetness and the ick was upon me. Had to scrub it off, and that took some major effort! This stuff is potent and has some amazing staying power. Definitely not a safe blind buy or even from smelling on a test strip.

I got two super generous samples of Sahare from Neiman Marcus, and oh wow — this stuff is potent. It kicks off with a sparkly little citrus note, pretty — but then boom: spicy, dusty rose takes over. Like peppery rose explosion!🌹 There’s also amber, maybe a touch of incense, and yep... I get some myrrh vibes in there. It smells fancy and luxurious. Like red lipstick, a silk scarf. Ultra-feminine, but honestly? I think it could work as a unisex scent... Though when I asked the boys? They said: “Nope. Smells like a woman.” Go figure. 😂). Personally? I love the opening and the drydown. That middle part — the big spicy floral moment — it’s just a bit too much for me. You know who fell in love, though? My mom! She was obsessed for weeks. (And yes, she’s young, vibrant, and fabulous — don’t even get me started on that “roses are for grandmas” nonsense 😤) And get this — 2 sprays lasted: 12 hours. No joke. Sillage? Solid. Would I buy a full bottle? Nah, not for me. But if you're a rose lover who likes a little spice and drama, Sahare might just be your next obsession. Presentation: 9.5/10. Season: Winter and Fall. A more afternoon, night pleasure.

Extraordinary and exceptional floral ambery creation which is masterfully & heavenly blended... It starts with a burst of gorgeous citruses which is really uplifting and powerful ... Soon it transforms into lovely blend of Taif rose mixed with Damascus rose with slight leathery nuances..... all these are surrounded by ambergris which gives the blend the strength & power... I received a sample and let my husband try it first. He found it too floral and feminine for his taste. When I tried it, I appreciated the bold, bright red rose, but it didn’t impress me enough to consider purchasing or wearing it regularly. The fragrance opens with sweet, slightly boozy notes of rose, and yes, Sahare is a reminiscent of MFK’s OSM. As it dries down, it takes on a powdery quality that may appeal to fans of such scents. However, my mom sampled Sahare and became completely enchanted. She was so excited that she even googled the fragrance—a rarity for her! That excitement quickly turned to shock when she discovered the steep price, which is $460 in stores.

It is a complete departure from their previous rose sent which is @bvlgari Garanat. The opening is gorgeous with citrus blast and taif rose but unfortunately it dries down with overpowering ambergris which makes it smell very aquatic/fishy 🐟. I think it would be great for layering rather than wearing this by itself because of its overpowering rose and ambergris. Eternal lasting scent. I love the bottle and the beautiful magenta color cap. Overall 6/10 on its own.🌹🥀

For a fresh rose lover, Sahare is so promising by the notes. However it does dry down to quite a serious and somber rose with a powdery element. Maybe a dark inky red wine too. For some it could definitely be perceived as cloying and sickly, as someone below mentioned.

The drydown of this fragrance is almost identical to initio musk therapy/musk tahara. In the opening I was sitting smelling my arm trying to remember what it reminded me of.. it really is just like musk therapy with a little added rose and spices.

Fruity floral, red berries with mixed flowers at first and then light rose petals. very effervescent and long lasting. Could be unisex for the right individuals but this is very feminine. In the realm of Delina but fresher imo.

I am a lover of roses, but this is too sweet. Not a light effervescent sweet but a red sweet that makes your saliva too thick. Not how I want to smell. Doesn't feel juicy or tart or edible at all.

Repulsive! The note breakdown does not list oud, but the top note had a stinky barnyard oud smell. To my nose it smells like s**t!

This is bad. Acidic very powerful synthetic rose with candy-like background. At times, it smells pretty sickly.
