Beachy, beautiful, bright, sandy, sunny, marine, sunscreen-y, happy, nostalgic, and floral. Oh wow I really love this one! It’s the feeling of being at the beach bottled! I’m a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances and this one definitely hits the mark! I pick up on all of the notes... the sea water, jasmine, and coconut are the most prominent to me. The vanilla is subtle, but becomes a little more prominent during the dry down. This one definitely gives major sun tan lotion vibes, which I absolutely love! Madie reminds me very strongly of Bobbi Brown Beach, another love of mine! It’s so very similar that if you have one of them then you probably don’t need both. I’m also reminded somewhat of Replica Beach Walk, but I don’t think that they’re nearly as similar as Beach. However, I do get a lovely sun tan lotion vibe with Beach Walk as well, although it’s not as strong as the ones I’m getting from Madie and Beach. If you’re into Sun tan lotion like scents then you’ll love all 3 of these. However, if that’s not your thing then these are likely not for you. I also saw JHAG Lust For Sun in the “reminds me” section, but to me at least it’s not that similar. I find Lust For Sun to be a more monoi oil like scent as opposed to sun tan lotion. I do think it’s another really lovely option for a beachy/summertime/vacation fragrance. I’m such a huge fan of beachy/coconut fragrances, so for reference here’s some of my favorites besides Beach Walk, Beach, and Madie: Kilian Sunkissed Goddess, Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, Nest Sunkissed Hibiscus, Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess, JHAG Lust For Sun, JHAG Vanilla Vibes, and Kate Spade Live Colorfully. If you’re a fan of beachy fragrances as well then I highly recommend trying Madie as well as the others that I’ve listed here. I get great performance with Madie. The longevity is wonderful, it lasts throughout the whole day on me. The projection is really nice too, it radiates out at least an arm’s length from me.

Wow! Adore this beachy scent! Yes, it is absolutely like sunscreen but personally I love that sunscreen scent. Soleil Blanc and beach walk ALMOST hit the 100% sunscreen smell, but this one takes the cake! It's brilliant, I adore it and as the perfumer is Australian (as am I) I truly think it is an Australian summer in a bottle. That smell of sunscreen, heat, sand and salt - this is a perfect fragrance for those who love sunscreen/beach fragrances. If you want something less sunscreen, of course you can opt for Soleil Blanc and beach walk but in my opinion this is a 10/10 fragrance. I can understand some people don't like how uncanny it smells to sunscreen, but I love it. It's perfectly summery!

Pure sunscreen. As an Australian, this is an Aussie summer in a bottle. It's a summer full of the ocean, salty skin and hair and a constant lingering odour of sunscreen. I tried to find a sunscreen perfume for so long, Soleil Blanc wasn't it and neither was anything I found in search of my sunscreen perfume I so desperately needed. Until I found this. This was what I was looking for all along / 100% pure sunscreen and not much else! If you don't like sunscreen you won't like this! If Soleil Blanc is too sunscreeny for you, then this will NOT be for you.

I heard they are discontinuing this scent and that makes me so sad! This is really unique. I mostly just get an ocean smell. Just marine breezes and ocean and it’s fresh and salty. I mix it with sweet vanilla and caramel perfumes to add a salty note in the mix and its delicious. Find this easy to wear. Obviously good for summer but somehow works with moody, cloudy days as well. Hope they decide to bring it back. Hard to find a salty ocean perfume that is not either extremely masculine, or choked out by flowers and fruits.

The sunscreen scent to end all sunscreen scents. This is a fragrance that my partner and I have repurchased THREE times because him and I both love to drown ourselves in it. It smells like going to a lake beach as a kid and your mom slathering Coppertone on you before you run into the water, in the best possible way. Decent wear for being a lighter aquatic scent, but I never mind reapplying. I do find this one super polarizing though. Like everyone I have introduced to it either loves it or hates it.

I see a fair amount of negative reviews here. I happen to love this one and was not a huge fan of beachwalk and many of the other beachy type scents I have tried. I am not opposed to scent of most sunscreens. They usually give me warm feelings and scent memories of summer. While a lot of the others of this type of fragrance with coconut pulled sour on me, this one did not. I think it is lovely! It's a love for me and I think worth a try.

I really love this scent!! It smells like a sandy beach, but maybe with a chlorine pool nearby like at a resort, and sunscreen. So it's got a chemical smell, however for me that's not a negative because it takes me back to all my past summer vacations. I had an emotional reaction when first smelling this, and that's how I know it's a special one for me.

I love this fragrance and enjoy it much more than Beachwalk. It gives me scent memories of the beach and pool. It does remind me of sunscreen and I'm not mad about it. It has a salty freshness, and I can smell all the individual notes. It's a very realistic scent, like you've left the ocean or pool and are lounging in your beach chair. Wonderful!

I totally understand why this is not for a lot of people... But I adore it. It's sunscreen, white florals, and sea water. Everything I love about summer. The white florals fade quickly but I'm left with the scent of Coppertone and salt on my clothes for the whole day. It is a very nostalgic scent for me and just makes me happy.

I can't believe reading through these reviews. How much people hated this fragrance? I guess I'm just the absolute minority as I love this fragrance. I love the sunscreen note, but I'm also 56 years old. And it reminds me of original copper tone sunscreen.I love it, I think it's fantastic!!!! To me it's summer in a bottle!!!

I never thought I would like beach-y fragrances but my! This one is PERFECT! It's not suntan-y (which is what I can't stand). And it's isn't dominated by the coconut. It just smells like a night at a beach resort, if that makes sense. It last for about 3-4 hours. Projection is moderate. 10/10!

Ahh this is SO pretty! Definitely jasmine forward. I really don't get anything "beachy" from this.

This is my favorite BRJ fragrance. Total Coppertone, in the best possible way. I love it!

I blind-bought the travel size on sale from Sephora for about $15 dollars. I can see how people get sunscreen from this! But for me, Madie reminds me of Hindu temples I went to growing up and the jasmine incense sticks they burn inside them during aartis. I would love to wear this with some of my Indian clothes because I think the scent aligns really well with those vibes. I mostly smell jasmine and not much else. It's good, but I don't want to smell like this everyday, only on those special occasions.

This is a realistic beach/ocean scent, not a pretty one. It's very salty to the point of harshness, and a little funky, like the inside of a seashell. I didn't notice any coconut and only a hint of jasmine, which is fine because almost every cosmetic product smells like coconut. Here is salt, sand, and a bit of sunscreen, dried on the skin, falling asleep on the subway after a nighttime trip to Coney Island with your friends. I loved wearing it all summer and felt sad when my tester vial ran out.

Very marine-led jasmine. There's a saltiness that brings out a sunscreen-like quality that's only enhanced by a touch of coconut. The jasmine here is on the greener side, which, when paired with the aforementioned marine-quality feels very "day at the beach, ocean water and sunscreen included." Not my cup of tea personally, but it will please the oceanic-loving crowd. I was sent this fragrance in PR.

This perfume definitely reminds me of summer. When I first sprayed it the smell was super powdery (almost like candy smarties?) and was not pleasant. After about 15 minutes it developed into a jasmine-heavy sort of ocean smell. I would say it smells like sunscreen but it has a more expensive smell. I like it but I wouldn’t wear it much, just on hot days at the beach or something

Upon the initial spray, this reminds me of MMM's Replica Beach Walk perfume! Both smell exactly like sunscreen in the first five minutes, but I find the dry down to be very different. Whereas Beach Walk is a bit more floral, Madie is more oceanic and coconut based. It's a very light, soft, and smooth kind of scent, that's absolutely perfect for summer.

Makes me feel like I’m a mermaid. It smells like how I imagine it would be like living underwater like a mermaid. The salty vanilla notes I’m smelling here are far more potent than JHAG Vanilla Vibes which I love but is far more tame compared to this one. This is definitely a hot pick for Summer!

It smells just like a swimming pool and sunscreen, like others have said! I can't imagine wearing it anywhere else but to a pool (and I have!) but I really enjoy how it nails that exact vibe. I've never smelled anything like it before.

This gives me beach house vibes. I definitely smell sunscreen, but I didn't hate it. I think the jasmine reminds me of my grandma but it's not an old scent. It's pretty pleasant and summery to me.

The dry down of this is really lovely, exactly what the notes say, but for the first hour or two it's literally just really strong jasmine and nothing else.

Reminds my mom of her grandma, my great grandma. She did not like it. I like it; it reminds me of the beach.

Smells like suntan lotion and days spent at the pool in the warm southern sunshine!

I went through a stage where I thought the coolest thing would be to smell like I had rubbed myself with Coppertone and hung out at the beach. What better smell is there than that!?! Turns out, there are thousands of better scents! You can’t replicate sun, sand, salty sea air all mixed with suntan oil. So even though Maddie did a very good job and is pretty, I realized I just smelled fake walking around my grocery store like I just rolled off the beach. So my takeaway is this is very pretty, but a conceptual fail.

Ehhh it’s a little heavy on the jasmine, or just something about it seems off/synthetic. I do enjoy these kinds of beachy sunscreen fragrances but I would not reach for this one. MM’s Beach walk is airy and fresh but to me Madie is a little more swampy. Not a fan.

This indeed is fresh and clean and feels cold somehow. Maybe because of the sea spray? Can’t really feel the vanilla. The jasmine here gives it a little vintage feeling which is not my jam. But overall a nice scent. But be aware it mind smell vintage

I got a sample. To me, it smells exactly like ylang-ylang essential oil over sunscreen. Maybe By Rosie Jane perfumes just don't work with my chemistry. Won't be buying but wouldn't mind smelling it on others.

A summer fragrance, so perhaps I'm doing an injustice to it having tried it during the middle of the winter. It's fine but ultimately forgettable.

Salty sunscreen coconut. Similar to Beachwalk by Maison Margiela but less sweet and more jasmine forward.

Sea water? More like pool water and sunscreen. Nothing objectionable, but not my type of fragrance.

I was so excited to try this based on the notes. Oh my, no sir, no ma'am! I really tried looking for the good in it, but from the first few seconds to the very end (which thankfully only lasted maybe 30mins if that), it was just a medicinal, cheap dollar store icy blue men's shaving cream. I am not kidding. I love Marine, aquatic, salty, sunscreen, fragrances. I own Beach Walk, Salt Air, etc. This is nothing, nothing like them at all. I'm not a huge fan of Sun Spill bc that one is very sunscreen synthetic, but even that one is (IMO) a better option than Madie. I see why this was discontinued. Reminds me of a dear family friend that's an 88yr old Air Force vet, lives alone with 2 cats, and likes to wear sweater cardigans. Hope this helps ツ

When I first sprayed it, that aquatic salt note initially gave like stinky saliva so this fragrance already started off on the wrong foot with me. After settling for about 10 minutes, it kind of smells like sweaty skin, the saltwater of a beach that's riddled with seaweed, and a really soapy jasmine that you'd almost get from an old vintage bar soap. Very clean, very salty, very fresh. It's not for me but I can see who this probably caters to. It really kind of just smells like someone who showered in the morning and got all sweaty on the beach. I feel like the soapiness of the jasmine gives me a headache as well if I smell it for too long. Glad I got a sample and didn't blind buy this one.

I’ll preface by saying these beachy, sunscreen smells are not my thing at all. I think Madie is one of the grossest ones I’ve tried alongside Beach Walk. It’s a pungent marine, sunscreeny smell, but it has a quality that kind of smells like an outhouse air freshener. Salty white florals are very prominent. The Jasmine here is a little too indolic for my taste. It gives it a stinky quality, like you’ve just slathered Coppertone all over yourself and used the port-a-john on the beach. In my opinion, Sunlit Blooms by Dedcool and Solar Power by Fleur are both better options than this with Dedcool’s offering being my pick for winner in this category.

unfortunately this was an instant no for me. It has a very screechy floral and like an old hot bottle of sunscreen note. Like an artificial, this is what we think a beach smells like by someone who does not live near one. For me it is missing the ozone, marine saltiness of a refreshing beach fragrance like goldfield and banks pacific rock moss. I'm not a huge fan of Replica's beach walk either but would prefer that over this.

This fragrance presents on my skin in a two-faceted manner: as a beachy sunscreen scent (reminds me of JHAG's Lust for Sun) and as an ammonia based cleaning fluid. I have no problem with the sunscreen accord but the cleaner aspect is so sharp and overwhelming it just makes me recoil. A few hours in now, and the ammonia note is more muted but still discernible. Unfortunately it makes the scent unwearable to me.

Now, I knew I wouldn't love this. I don't like jasmine or coconut, but I got it as a bonus sample so decided on a day at home to test it out. Opens with a blast of seabreeze scented laundry powder and jasmine. After about an hour, it settles down to the coconutty sunscreen much closer to the skin and didn't change further. Want to say i noticed it was gone after 4-5 hours.

Edit: No idea if my sample went bad or what but it turned into this very sour salt smell and had to throw it. I adore this. It smells like warm Hawaiian tropic sun tan oil while a white floral bush in nearby. If you do not like salty white florals this is NOT for you. But I really enjoy it.

Smells like incense, but not intentionally, like when you walk past a store full of incense sticks and wax melts and "witchy" things. It also has a hairspray-esque quality... not really a good one. If I try really hard, I can smell some sea saltiness but it's just not very appealing.

This lasted all of maybe two hours on me, and the whole time, it smelled like I had just applied sunscreen. I really wish I liked it since I'm looking for a good sunshine-inspired vanilla-y scent, but this was not my jam unfortunately.

This has a strange initial opening (smells almost minty to my nose) and then dries down to a cheap smelling sunscreen. I highly recommend Replica Beach Walk over this.

Madie smells like Coppertone Sport sunscreen that has been overheated to the point of separation and an unwashed, sandy swimsuit. Hard pass.

I really hate this.... Reading the notes I was actually so excited. It stinks. It smells like I’ve just walked into an old persons home, and there’s toilet cleaning products spilt all over the ground plus a rotting corpse sitting in the corner. It’s horrid.
