Apple Brandy on the Rocks

I have very particular tastes in fragrances. I am not a niche snob, and I am not a clone freak. I am on the search for the best of the best perfumes that are trying to do two things at the same time: be an amazing smell that people actually respect and love, and be a smell that accomplishes that feat while setting itself apart from other top dogs that have accomplished that first task. That is to say, I like the best of the best fragrances with "designer" sensibilities. That sensibility is also filtered through the fact that I resonate with traditionally masculine fragrances. My favorite "niche" fragrance, as basic as it may seem, is going to be something as basic as a Creed (e.g., Silver Mountain Water or Green Irish Tweed), and my favorite designers are Dior Sauvage Parfum and Elixir, Acqua Di Gio Profumo, or Tom Ford's Oud Wood. Unfortunately for me, sweet fragrances often turn cloying on my skin. Unlike my younger brother, on whom sweet fragrances turn spicier and more masculine. So, when I wear sweet fragrances I enjoy, such as Dior Homme Intense and Parfum (pre-reformulation/re-release) or By the Fireplace, I have to test them multiple times on skin and wear them exclusively in particularly cold weather. This right here, though? This is peak. It is sweet, spicy, boozy, juicy, and just perfectly balanced with some crisp freshness from what I imagine is the apple, bergamot, pineapple, and ambroxan all working together. I absolutely love this fragrance. When I smelled it on skin, I joked to my friends "I think I just the fragrance of my future wife." But I love it for me as well. Everyone has a fragrance that they consider their quintessential "date night" fragrance. Some (many) would even put Angel's Share at the top of their list. And God bless them, all the power to them, but for my tastes, I think I can say this is it for me. Projection and longevity is fantastic. The actual smell is like a spicy apple pie with melting vanilla ice cream on top with some caramel drizzle, and a fruity little apple/pineapple and rum cocktail by your side. Not photo realistic though, so still very much unmistakably a "fragrance" and you don't have to worry about someone thinking that you spilled your dessert all over yourself, and you don't have to be worried about giving the police probable cause in a DUI charge (which you would have to be concerned about with "Old Fashioned on the Rocks"). To me, this is a 10/10, and I am going to have to purchase a bottle. Too bad it costs, at discounters, even more than Creed Aventus at the same discounters.

Apple Brandy on the Rocks opens as a watery, sweet baked apple topped with cardamom with hints of pineapple to brighten it up~ Sometimes it even comes across like caramel apples? I adore this fragrance!! I don't get nearly as much booze as I do with Angel's Share (I'm ambivalent about this, because I love the idea of boozy scents but it can also become too heavy if not balanced just right), and it isn't woody at all on me? I'm basically getting all the sweet and fruity notes on my skin... As a gourmand and fruity scent lover, there's no way I could complain about that! Its undeniably aquatic, and its watery quality is the most defining characteristic.. The cardamom and vanilla bring back just enough warmth that it isn't truly a cold or warm fragrance? Its soooo smooth and intense enough without being overpowering on someone who prefers lighter fragrances! Its a little aloof? Or maybe someone who seems aloof but is a big softy on closer inspection... It isn't as outwardly approachable on a lady as some of my other scents (it would probably read very approachable on a guy into aquatic frags!), but its still cozy and sweet.. It makes me feel like I'm in my own world on a wet day ^^/ Its one of my favorite snowy or rainy day scents! It could also read as a festive holiday scent, but I think its subtle enough to be worn more often than that~ It's probably too light for nighttime, but versatile enough to wear all day whether you're done up or not~

I remember testing this perfume in store, i sprayed perfume on tester strip and i was like "mehh, decent but booring". I had opportunity to get my apple brandy bottle for 155 euros ( yes its original ) and i took the chance and bought it. Im serious, i opened the package and placed my bottle on shelve, i did not try it on. One colder night i was like : what perfume im going to go tonight, oh lets go apple brandy on the rocks. Let me tell you, this perfume is freaking amazing on skin, soo unique and developes from amazing red juicy apple into deep smokey dusty fragrance. Not a fuckboy scent more like i got my shit figgured out. Great scent if you go out for a dinner or theater - 3-4 hours guaranteed. Not a safe pick for noizy and loud clubbing night. I had fun interation with this perfume - i was in cinema and i had problems with paying for my popcorn. Girl who worked there came to help me and after i finished paying i turned to her and she was talking to her coworker and i heard she telling her " this guy smells so good". For me this perfume beats overhyped angel shares ( what is actually pdm oajan 2013 release clone ) Suits more for colder months and nighttime in my opinion. For me perfomance is great, 4 hours is enough for me to wear this perfume. If i want beastmode perfomance and sillage i go diffrent perfumes. Just ordered second backup bottle!

Smelled this one at Sephora with my best friend one day, and of course I had heard about all of the Angel's Shares and was going down the line on the little Killian display. I surprisingly didn't like any of the Angel's Shares at first because of the cognac just being like sniffing into a bottle of liquor on the opening to me at first, but now my nose has matured and I actually quite like it. But at the time, I hated the Angel's Shares and hadn't heard about Apple Brandy OTR. We sprayed it on a tester and we both instantly fell in love. Such a refreshing green apple note with a touch of sweet rum to support it and give it a nice nose while not be overpowering for an alcoholic note with just a touch of spice from the cardamom. I instantly fell in love with it and apples are for some reason one of my favorite realistic scents to smell in a fragrance. Eventually I bought it and the longevity is okay as well as the sillage depending on where you spray. Maintains that sweet apple liquor scent profile for the first couple of hours, and unfortunately dries down to a watered down version of it with a bit of mossiness to it. Definitely a situational wear, but I love any time I can wear it.

A smoothly blended and overall well made boozy apple-pineapple scent, probably my favourite fragrance from 'By Kilian', the opening is apple with some spices and citruses in the back but still quite prominent, but as the refreshing citrus starts to fade, it's replaced by boozy brandy note that's quite tame compared to alcoholic notes used in other Kilian fragrances, the note of pineapple also joins this composition in the mid and duets with the apple quite well, adding a tart-sweet nuance in the mix to counteract the apples pure sweetness + refreshing effect, which is supported by a small albeit noticeable woody-moss kinda scent in the back (which only gets more prominent the longer it dries down). definitely unisex but leans slightly masculine for me, due to the moss in this fragrances, but it can be rocked by either gender, good for all seasons except maybe really hot days, and can be dressed up or down too, quite versatile, As with other 'By Kilian's', I do wish performance and silage lasted longer, but it is what it is, overall this fragrance is definitely worth a try, but the price is quite jarring, so definitely not blind buy safe! Final Verdict is an 9.2/10

Problem şu ki en bu parfümü esansiyel olarak kendim ürettim. ve üretmiş olduğum esans eg kalite(ekonomik kalite) olarak tercih ettim. Çok büyük pişmanım. I think this perfume is somewhat unique in its own right. It's somehow boozy with an underlying freshness but also cozy at the same time and I think it's quite an undertaking to be able to combine all of these elements into a single fragrance. There is a juiciness and subtle tartness which I presume is from the apple that permeates through the liquor tones which does feel quite complementary like a marriage between two people who are at opposing ends of the spectrum but nevertheless keep gravitating back towards eachother as if some intangible external force keeps invariably linking them back together, expertly blended in my opinion but to be patiently observed until after dry drown because this does need you to be faithful to it until the end. Since I prefer more intimately projecting fragrances this blows Angel's Share out the park any day and feels more like something that has naturally come together in a more organic fashion. I find it to be intricate and full of verve simultaneously which is something that I do appreciate.

Apple Brandy on the Rocks by Kilian is a cozy, fresh fragrance that feels like a cool, crisp drink on a warm evening. I purchased a 100mL sized bottle of this as I could not get enough of the "applely" scent from this fragrance. The booziness and the apple accord pairs so well. I wish there were more fragrances that can pull this off just as well as this one. On to the scent, this smells wonderful, my fiancee loves it on me, I love it, it just pairs so well with the fall season, but definitely could be worn year-round day or night. It does smell really nice without being loud and in people's faces. When applying, I get roughly 3 hours of projection at about 3 feet, 2 hours at about an elbows length, and then it becomes a a skin scent, which is perfect for winding down into the evening. It is inoffensive, yet a beautiful scent that most people will enjoy. Scent: 9.5/10 Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 5/10

I am not a fan of woody scents, and I really enjoy By The Fireplace which I can recognize is woody but a lot more of a smoky chestnut scent, whereas this had a woodiness that completely surrounds the entire scent profile. The apple is most prominent right out of the gate and fades after 30 minutes into a very nice rich sweet brandy woody vanilla scent that had a slight spicy caramel apple overall profile. It is so well blended that it is very hard to pick out individual notes, but it is such a great fragrance that lasts for hours. Definitely buy through discounters because Sephora or retail will definitely be around twice the cost.

Top tier. Boozy, green apple with some woods in the drydown. To me, it has the same boozy hit as angels share, but toned down to let the apple really shine through. Surprisingly fresh, and airy. Perfect fall fragrance in my opinion. Really transports my mind to apple orchards in the Midwest, or drinking some hard apple cider on a cool fall night. Perfectly unisex. Men will have no problem rocking this, but I’d also find this quite sexy on a woman. Performance is good enough. 6-7 hours, with moderate projection in the first 2 hours. Satisfying sillage throughout.

I get a crisp, juicy, slightly sour apple in the opening that transitions into a boozy woody base with the ghost of that apple still hanging out there in the background. I truly feel like the name perfectly represents the scent. It smells rich and refreshing in a way that no other fragrance that I tried does. I would genuinely consider this an all season fragrance, but that's just me. The performance isn't particularly remarkable on my skin and I would love if it lasted longer, especially considering the price, but that doesn't detract from the scent.

Smells like apples and brandy, pretty self explanatory. It smells amazing on my skin and when sprayed in moderation you end up smelling like slightly boozy apple, and I'm talking freshly sliced green apple, the note is so realistic you could close your eyes and think some kid is chewing on an apple right behind you, but its not, its the perfumes sillage. Amazing smelling, not the best performing tho, I had to spray a decent amount. I'd buy a full bottle if it was maybe not $300 for 1.7 oz, outrageous pricing, sexy smooth smelling boozy apple. 9/10

Some people like drydown...I honestly was hoping it will stay on opening. Opening its very lovely sweet green apple. Littlebit of boozeness gin type of vibe. On drydown you can slighlty smell burning oak and moss which i think doesnt fit to this fregnance. Booze from opening is still there less of apple and small hints of pinapple which somehow saving this perfume. Overall i like it. (I hate angel share) Not lasting long for a price point. Littlebit disappointing drydown. It fainting fairly quickly and dont maintain best notes from opening.

A very noticeable nice Smooth Apple with recognizable cedar in the back with some beautiful warm booziness from the brandy and rum. To me it smells like a Caramelized Green Apple with some warm brandy and dipped in some vanilla and ofc you can smell the nice cedar. 9/10 I really recommend you can get 1.7oz on jomashop and other places and for the price it’s good you have nice 6+ hours longevity with moderate leaning towards strong silage. And dw about it being too masculine I’m a teenager and I see myself wearing this confidently.

I am so in love with this fragrance. I thought I would like Angels share more & read so many reviews saying that apple brandy was more masculine but on me it turns SO beautifully sweet and feminine. Angels share is definitely more masculine on me. This is sweet, kind of clean but more sweet than anything, gourmand, deliciousness. I recommend going to try it in store on your skin because you might be like me and be one of the few this smells SUPER gourmand on. I’m so obsessed. Also, with Kayali 28; it is UNREAL. 10/10 recommend

opens with a realistic and crisp green apple; its not as sweet as i would've thought. a slight warm spiciness comes through from the cardamom. after drying down a bit, the woodiness starts to come through in a really well done cedar note that mixes beautifully with the brandy notes giving it a nice warm characteristic. the vanilla provides a nice, subtle sweetness with an earthy undertone. my only problem with this fragrance is its average level performance. it becomes a skin scent after just a couple hours.

Originally, I had bought this mistaking it for Angel's Share but was pleasantly surprised by the scent of apples and dark liquors. I love this one more than Angel's Share because I don't typically come across standalone scents with a good clear note of apple in the first spray. It's crisp and you can catch swigs of the rum and brandy in between it all, before it melts away into a simple vanilla. To me, it smells best in the autumnal months and can be used as a layering scent in the wintertime.

i managed to snag this at a super discounted price and boy am i happy! this has definitely a more masculine-leaning opening for me, i do not find it juicy at all. once it dries down, however, it's straight up candied apple. i wouldn't necessarily call this a gourmand. yes, you immediately visualise a juicy red apple in your mind, but it still has some woody and fresh notes that makes it smooth and seductive. to me it's a perfect fall-winter fragrance! performs really well too.

Nose Note #242 Didn't look on Fragrantica and did not expect it to be a Boss Bottled dupe :))) It's very much Boss Bottled EDT. I love that Fragrance, had a 200ml. This one gives the same vibes, but without an alcohol opening. Smells more mature (in terms of maturation, not wearer's age), has a little earthy aspect that Bottled doesn't have. But it's essentially the same spicy apple scent. Honestly, it feels like a Bottled dupe. In a way it's a let down. Look at the price

I wasn't sure what to expect with this before I tried it, and I was very pleased with how it turned out. Apple with sweet pineapple is there at the top, but the spicy aromatic cardamom, cedar and the subtle liquor notes are unique and very well done. Not as boozy as I thought it would be and very different from Angel's Share. Full bottle worthy, 6-8 hours longevity, 8.5/10 scent profile, feminine leaning unisex, and to me this is work safe. This is a very sweet green apple with rum, long lasting but not beast, on my skin maybe 6 hours but you will feel it all the time on yourself... unisex but on women I think will project in a more sexy way... is yummy . I want to drink it .. Is softer and fresher than Angel Share but still boozy... I could use it all year round ..super fresh super easy to wear ...beautiful beautiful... 10/10 Edit: I notice I made double comment about this :) sorry about that

I didn't expect versatility because of it's name, but this is actually very versatile and fresh enough for daily errands and office appropriate, as well. I will be wearing this beautiful fragrance a lot. The sillage is to die for, and the longevity is very good, too. To me, Apple Brandy on the Rock is so much more wearable than Angel's Share, which is great for evening and cold weather, only. Both are very solid releases by Killian.

Just so everyone knows: This is meant to be basically the original with a more prominent realistic apple note and a slight addition of the “On The Rocks” DNA from VOTR. It is not gonna be similar to Aventus in any form. Just cuz something has pineapple doesn’t mean it’s gonna be like Aventus lmao. Expect Apple Brandy, a bright ambroxan coldness, and possibly a bit extra fruity vibe from the pineapple.

My absolute favorite scent I have in my collection. Amazing realistic apple scent and smells very fancy and sophisticated. Only downsides are the price, longevity, and sillage. I got it for 225€ (200€ with tax refund because I was on vacation) and for the price its not really the best performing lasts maybe like 6-7 hours and the sillage is not very good. Overall still an amazing scent 10/10.

I don’t know why but this makes me feel nostalgic. A real nice and fresh apple can be traced at first then it all becomes woody. Kinda like an old yet well maintained store by the seashore with wooden floorboards. Suitable for cold weathers but I would pick Angels Share over this in winter any day. I’d recommend you wear this on a chilly spring day/night or at early fall.

I go to the shop hope to get Angel's share back home but after sales person suggest apple brandy for me. I fall in love with it and completely forgot why i've been there at first. Apple brandy is the true hidden gems for on the rocks collection. It smell so damn good sexy boozy and my wife fall in love with it at first time too. Longevity on me is really great 8hours+

I think this one get more compliment from ladies than Angel share. It opens up with this fresh green apple (Slightly sour but no big deal), then it dry down into this boozy brandy but still fresh (Which differ from angel shares - boozy all the way). It's less attention grabbing, it's more for gentleman who know how to treat themselves a drink after work. 9/10 for me

Best killian fragrance. Freshly cut apple skin backed with both a soapy, boozy, sweet undertone. It's just a real shame that I only get 3 hours before it's almost entirely gone on my skin. Pros: - Smells incredible - Mass appealing Cons: - Terrible performance for a fragrance of this style - Bottle really does feel quite cheap. Plastic cap says it all.

Pretty, if only this lasted for more than an hour. It is a shameful performance for the asking price. It's spicy, boozy, a bit citrusy, just as advertised. It's a fancy and well blended cocktail, which earns a solid amount of compliments, so long as it's immediately after spraying. Unfortunately, it doesn't even stick to the skin much.

Amazing fragrance. Smells like the name suggests, a boozy apple mixture that dries down to be more woody. A lot of people don't like the dry down, but to me it's very luxurious and the best part of this fragrance. Great performance and longevity for a fragrance of this type as it will get you noticed but it's not too much. 10/10

If I had one fragrance wish... it would be to make this fragrance last and perform the same as Angel's Share. This is perfection. Elegant, sweet, boozey, and totally unisex. I do get the same type of apple note that is present in boss bottled but it is done way better. I really think this fragrance is a 9.5/10. I am in love.

On first spray, I wasn't sold. It was too boozy and a little too masculine. But, it really grew on me -- it's probably one of my top 3's now. Someone mentioned that it's kind of a puzzling, strange scent and I don't disagree. It's definitely something you need to get to know, mull over, and see if you want to commit to.

I bought a bottle of apple brandy on the rocks in Japan after testing in Singapore. I do notice that the bottle from Japan is WAY less boozy and also more cardamom and also less sweet. Realised when I reach back in Singapore, kind of disappointed. If anyone has had a similar experience please reach out!

I didn't think I would like anything more than angels share but this is it. Like a delicious apple pie but not in a carlisle or layton way. More fresh while still very obviously a sweet gourmand scent. Just smells damn good, honestly easy blind buy if you like angel share and the smell of baked apples.

This is the niche version of Boss Bottled. Apple smells so real, the fragrance is exquisite. Opening is fresh and sweet with bergamot, apple and pineapple and the dry down is more woody than musky compared to Boss Bottled. Wish it lasted more, and projected more, but for me that’s not big of a deal

it smells like an adult beverage candy apple, a tipsy candy apple. It’s absolutely delicious from beginning to end. Perfect for fall or winter. I did not find that this leaned to masculine and I can’t stop smelling my wrist, beautifully blended, not too sweet, stunning apple note.

i lovee apple brandy! i love the way it opens with the fresh apple scent and dries down to woody and musky. whenever i wear this people always tell me how good i smell. I just feel like the price point isn't justified.. it's a lovely scent but it doesn't quite last all day

This for me is such a unique fragrances as it is very boozy while still being very fresh, the green apple note is very realistic, it is quite sweet and the dry down lean a bit more woody. Definitely a mature scent and can definitely be used for every seasons and occasion

Gorgeous scent that's only let down by its longevity. Most realistic apple I've put my nose on in any apple forward frag. Layer this with Angel's Share, Tobacco Vanille, Oud Seven or Spicebomb Extreme and it's heavenly, smells like walking around a Christmas market.

i consider this the spring/summer version of Angel's Share. it has a similar blend of spices and the same level of sweetness. this one has a much brighter apple note and a slightly citrusy character that makes it feel lifted and airy. i might love it more than AS.

Apple brandy on the rocks is criminally underrated, not just in terms of hyped perfumes but also in this line of perfumes by Killian. the performance, for me, is good - it’s not a beast mode but I think I’d like it less if it was.

It’s absolute cinema, one of the best fragrances I have, the rum blends perfectly with the rest of the fragrance, and vanilla and apple being the ones carrying this combination and making this fragrance, Absolute Perfection...

For me at least it's the best scent for fall and winter it's so good it smells like a apple syrup but in a really good way in my opinion it's way better then angel sheres it's a sweet but has some complexity

Apple cider, sweet vanilla, boozy cardamom. It’s pretty photorealistic, but not too strong. I think of it as a date night scent in the fall and winter. It’s a darker version of Ellis Brooklyn Apple Love.

My number one go to fall/winter fragrance! Spicey and boozy apple that's beautifully balanced and wears crisp/fresh. Excellent projection and I get compliments every time I've worn this one.

By far one of the best fragrances I’ve ever smelled/ worn. It smells so juicy and lightly boozy... lasts for hours and I get so many compliments! Will always have this in my collection!
