Cruel Intentions

A glance at the notes might induce a shudder of anxiety in many, especially when papyrus, oud, castoreum and styrax are listed together. I was definitely thrown off, and for the longest time, avoided ever trying this scent. However, on the obsessive journey of wanting to collecting as many Kilian fragrances as possible, I stumbled across an unloved bottle of this being sold for cheap. Upon receiving it, I sprayed it. Once. Extremely tentatively. Slowly, I wafted the scent towards me, afraid of what I might discover, prepared for a pungent, animalic and face-scrunching experience. My eyes widened. A smile starts to tug at the corners of my mouth as the sweet aroma invades my olfactory space. Momentarily forgetting what I had ever read about Cruel Intentions, I perceived a sweet, red-purple rose, almost with a berry-like juiciness. At the same time, there was a subtle citric tartness, a freshness. I immediately thought of cranberry juice, for some odd reason. A rounded vanillic sweetness makes an appearance, balanced by a dry parchment note and dark woods tempers the cordial-like sweetness with touch of dryness and a smidgen of smokiness. Lasting 10-11 hours on my skin, this is also no slouch when it comes to performance. Love love love!!!

Generally, i don't have many nice things to say about the house of Kilian. Their perfumes are mostly forgettable, fleeting, and massively over priced. Having said that, out of a large lineup i do think a few are gold. This is one! Its a beautiful powdery, slightly sweet perfume, with a touch of booziness. Its got a certain coziness to it, but its not thick or cloying. I wore it in 80F weather without a problem. Someone below me called it ethereal. Yes. Also, i'm surprised no one here thinks this smells even remotely close to YSL M7 vintage, but without the oud. I get that immediately. Speaking of Oud, i don't smell any at all. I don't even know why its listed on fragrantica, i can't see it listed anywhere else? Performance is extraordinary. It lasts 10+ hours, projecting ALL day. I've had it on for 12 hours today, and i can still smell it wafting up from my forearms. A real standout from Kilian!

I'll admit I bought this blindly Purely based on the fact that I loved the name. There was something about it, something enigmatic and electric. I wore Cruel intentions Through my senior year of high school, it had become "my scent" I'd leave a scent trail behind me as I waltzed past the jocks, their muscled bodies and boyish faces would shine in the sun and they'd smile at me as I walked by. Sometimes they'd close their eyes and I'd wonder if it was my scent that they were savouring. Cruel intentions is very sexy. The Rose and oud are orgasmic together and there is a tartness and sweetness, almost like a hint of raspberries smothered with vanilla and sprinkled with warm notes of Vetiver. I appreciate the sexiness and the darkness of this scent. I love the way it makes me feel flirty and full of optimism. I'd love to smell this on a man, that would be absolutely incredible.

Sometimes timing is everything. When I first tried this, I was new to Kilian and was completely turned off by the pretentious "try too hard" names and packaging. I don't think I allowed myself to fully appreciate the fragrances because I was biased already and trying hard not to like anything I believe. I have since become a major fan of quite a few from Kilian. I decided to revisit Cruel Intentions (and just pretend it wasn't actually named that) and I have fallen head over heels. This is an absolutely beautiful fragrance. Rose, oud, vanilla, violet, sandalwood and musk.....how could it not be heavenly? The things I love all rolled into one. Slightly powdery and basically heavenly. I should not have been so judgmental because of the name and packaging (and price). This is so gorgeous. Just love it.

Fragrance -Cruel Intentions By Kilian Bottle from - 2015 Cruel Intentions is a beautiful mix of rose,floral and woody notes with a hint of papyrus and animalic vibe. Reminds me of something wicked and forbidden,like forbidden fruit or forbidden affair. Longevity - 10/10(10+hours) Silage/Projection - 8/10(nice projection for the first 2-3 hours) Weather - best in autumn and winter Age - 25+ Compliments - 8/10 Scent - 9/10 Main notes according to me - oud,rose,sandalwood,papyrus,violet,animalic notes. The drydown is nice and i get some woodiness,vanille,rose and musk. Emotions -forbidden affair,wicked,sexy,night fun. Occasion -perfect for special occasions,romantic evening, date and night out. Could be a great signature scent.You'll get compliments with this one.
