Fun Things Always Happen After Sunset

I loved the opening of this - the lychee hits hard and then the black current follows up very soon after. The opening alone was so bright and juicy that it tempted me to immediately put it on my "want" list. However, as the fragrance dried down, I start getting a fresh and clean vibe - almost like fresh out of the shower. I think this will be a hit for many people who love the fresh and clean vibe during the summer, but it's not my go-to profile. It must be the green notes that give off this vibe. In addition to the opening, I LOVE the amount of musk in this fragrance. I'm starting to realize that I absolutely love musk in warm weather (especially with the combination of black or red currant to make it tangy and musky... I guess what some would call "skanky"). I despise dirty patchouli (like Theirry Mugler Angel), but that is not it here. Patchouli is not an animalic note, but that's how I perceive it in this fragrance - it simply makes the musk more realistic smelling. This is the patchouli I had hoped to get out of Tom Ford Rose Prick after the first couple of minutes into the opening, but it turns dirty instead. This is a true sweaty musk! I repeat... if this fragrance kept that fruity burst from the opening along with the musk and left out those shower clean notes... After Sunset would be an absolute winner for me! I'm destroyed that the lychee disappears in the first couple of minutes and that the black current disappears after about an hour. Honestly, I may still consider getting this as I know my partner enjoys fresh and clean scents and I enjoy the musk. Who knew musky fresh out the shower would be such an intriguing combo. UPDATE: Someone just described it as "deodorant smelling" and I would have to agree. It smells like the rose-scented Dove deodorant under your armpit after a workout... ... ... ... ... and I like it. Don't get me wrong, I don't pick up any of the actual rose in this fragrance but instead (hours later into the dry down), I get whatever Dove THINKS is a rose scent (haha) as my favorite musky part begins to fade away. LAYERING UPDATE: this with Parfums de Marly Delina Exclusif (my signature scent) is the most amazing combo I’ve smelled to date! Wowwowwow!

Opens with a lovely realistic lychee note. Lychees smell a bit soapy naturally, as they are related to soapnuts, but to me there is not a separate soap note here. It is juicy, pungently tart with a hint of sweetness. Lychee is "trending" more lately but I find a lot of fragrances tend to stifle it or are afraid to lean into the more complex aspects of it. Not this one, it is a bold top note and lingers for a couple hours in combination with the rose, which is present but understated. The drydown is a pleasant patchouli, followed by a soft, creamy musk. It reminds me of Marc Jacobs Lola's drydown, though they do not share a lot of notes, I would wear Sunset and Lola for similar occasions. Sunset is not a light, fresh splashy pop art, it is a layered, still-life oil painting of a lychee. There's something classic and familiar about its framing, even if the object itself is not traditional. If you have never eaten a real, fresh lychee and don't know the more pungent aspects of it (some even compare it to urine, though I don't agree), then I wouldn't say this is a safe blind buy. But I personally love it and am on the hunt for another bottle as I'm nearing the end of my first one. It's a pity it's not sold anymore. Also, to compare it to Killing Me Slowly, there are definitely similarities, but Killing Me Slowly does lean into a fully soapy note in the opening, while Sunset is juicy and fruit-heavy. I could see them as flankers for each other. If you liked Killing Me Slowly, give this a try as it's more readily available secondhand. If you like to layer, I found Sunset worked amazingly with Thé Matcha body mist from Le Monde Gourmande, to add some fresh aspects.

Love this one , completely unexpected. Bought full bottle after first spritz which doesn’t happen all that often. I have never smelled anything like this before. Sunset is a very energizing fresh fruity rose scent with a big doze of herbal green clean patchouli & musk accompanied by black current and lychee. A somewhat tropical feel from the lychee is present throughout the scent. Sunset is super fresh and green fruity unisex . It’s slightly soapy and very clean and juicy but not sweet. This perfume is sort of more adult as the other ones in this fun line. The name I don’t get as an after hours perfume evokes sexy warm thoughts to me and this is more sour , tropical ,clean , fresh with notes of an energizing bubble( rose) bath. I am mad about it !! So different , love it ! Along with the the rather sweet “Princess “,this is the favourite one out of this Kilian line. This is very office and all day appropriate yet for a fun night out or a dinner I would choose Kilians Love don’t be shy or Princess ,,,something more seductive!!

I'd been noodling around with which By Kilian 'My Kind of Love' scent to purchase when I smelled 'After Sunset' and purchased it that day... not a safe bet but one I'm happy with. This one is very unique, at least within my collection. The scent is watery and warm, very heavy on the litchi scent. I always describe this scent as a sweaty summer night. It makes me nostalgic for those humid evenings, running around, skinny dipping and fruity cocktails. The longevity and sillage are not the best, but is manageable when applied strategically. 3-4 sprays total: wrists, hair, chest/shirt, walkthrough for good measure.

Gorgeous, powdery makeup bag. Juicy. For a moment I thought of it as unisex, but it leans feminine. I think a man could pull it off. Something about this scent links to memories of the adult men's discarded leather jackets at a gathering with family friends. I find it incredibly comforting, beautiful, soft and strong, and I want to take a bite. It did not occur to me to describe this fragrance as fruity until I came to this page, so let me warn you, this is a synthetic smelling perfume. What little fruit there supposedly is, it's not fresh fruit so much as tropical cocktail.

To me it smells like: 80% lychee + 10% some sour fruit (not sure if it's black currant) + 10% rose and patchouli (to make it more feminine and sophisticated) It's a fruity fragrance, but not your 18yo girl next door kind of fruity. It smalle clean and natural, and the resemblance to real lychee is astonishing! The lychee here is fresh and on the green/sour side, not completely ripe yet so there's no overbearing sweetness. Great longevity, and leaves a beautiful classy fruity patchouli at the end. The development of all three notes are just amazing throughout!

This smells. So amazing. Just so so good. Fresh, fruity, a bit sharp and green. It starts off with a super sharp green note. But I get some soft musky almost water like/powdery in the dry down. I feel it’s got a softness to it that makes it really wearable. The longevity is insane. 8+ hours, and it still lasts on my skin! This is also a MASSIVE compliment getter. I get compliments a lot. But this. This was an attention whore haha. Wonderful fragrance.

This is a gorgeous musky litchi fragrance perfect for hot and humid days! At first spray I thought it was a little odd - it had a blackcurrant/dark berry vibe with a green note. But I kept smelling my wrist as I walked around the boutique I was in, becoming more captivated with how sexy it was turning. I ended up buying After Sunset and find it quite addicting. It lasts for 10+ hours on my skin as well.

I chose it as a free sample to my purchase. I would never buy it knowing the notes and what a suprise! I fell in love and my passion increases day by day. I would describe it as a smell of courage. It gives you power and confidence. I love myself wearing this scent, I am so happy I discovered such a genuine treasure. Give it a try! Peculiar but beautiful.

As a child I made cigaretss out of horse mint leaves (Mentha longifolia). I detect it here + BIG dose of nettle + black currant leaves + nice shy sweetness. It's a very wild, "weedy" and original perfume. Try it if you search for black currant leaves/ new nettle leaves note in perfumes.

This is not so ordinary as i read and thought.It is classy and kinda sexy and little bold.I am very happy that i diidnt listen to other people and bought it blind.It is little green with fruity exotic kick and dry powderiness.Very good for warm months

It's summer in a bottle. Summer in Los Angeles when the sun goes down and the party is starting. Litchi is the queen in this fragrance. Fruity/fresh. Very energizing and addictive.

This seems to me like a bad name for an otherwise good perfume. I was expecting this to be a younger-leaning, evening time women's perfume based on the marketing, the name, the bottle, etc and this was definitely not the case. I'm a 20-something woman and on me this smells just like men's cologne. I don't think it's unisex at all. However, I sprayed it on my dad's hand and he thought it was a women's scent, and on him it smelled like women's perfume! Goes to show how it is very important to test on your skin first, especially with high quality brands that use natural oils. On me, I get a good punch of musk, a lot of patchouli, all the green notes (hence my interpretation as men's cologne) and only if I really sit here and search for the fruitier, sweeter notes do I get the rose, lychee and black currant. I typically hate rose in scents but this one is as natural smelling as rose gets and doesn't screech on my skin. The reverse was true for my dad--it truly smelled like a women's perfume, really fruity and fun and reminded me of what Good Girl by CH wished it were. It was really more of a day-time, soft sillage, every-day scent though. Either way (whether it smells like men's cologne or not), it's a good scent, just not for me as I personally don't want to smell like men's cologne (even if it is high quality). Try it on your skin first before buying because it smells different from person to person. Edit: Sprayed this in my hair and it's really grown on me. It's still unisex, leaning a bit more masculine but I'm really in love with the scent. I don't think it's "After Sunset" though, more like late afternoon at best. The person I imagine wearing this is wearing a grey T shirt, ripped jeans, loafers and a really expensive watch, drinking a top-shelf dark liquor (rum, scotch, whiskey you name it) in a bar with some really nice wood-work. Not me, but can definitely appreciate it when I smell it.

First smell right after I sprayed my wrist, and I immediately got a sharp green watery fresh cut grass smell. Hmm that's odd, I thought to myself. About a half hour later I smelled my wrist again. I was taken back to my High School. But why? I closed my eyes, took a deep breath taking in the smell. My brain found the memory archive and took me back to myself being a Sophomore in High School. In my mind it was now almost 7AM. I'm wearing my burgundy penny-loafers with white socks, a plaid mini green skirt, white button down short sleeve shirt, my hair half way up like Ariana Grande does now, and wearing that powdery 'Exclamation' Perfume. I was standing outside my front door waiting for my boyfriend who was a Senior to pick me up. Hoping he'd hurry up bc it had just rained and knowing Miami that it has sporadic rains then mega sunshine, I didn't want to get rained on. The 'grass was freshly cut', but the delicious 'petricore' scent of the rain hitting the soil was in the air. He arrived! I hurry in, and as I lean in to kiss him good morning, I can smell that he just showed and is wearing his 'Cool Water' cologne. He looks nice and smells clean. Yes, that's it! This perfume smells like my High School Sophomore year, lol. I asked my husband and he definitely agreed this is more a male scent, but a tad on the powdery side. So here it is (IMO): •Rain wet cut grass •Shower Soap •Faint Cool Water Cologne •90s powdery/rose-y Exclamation perfume It doesn't project much and lasts about 2hrs max. I'll keep the sample, but I don't believe I'll be buying the bottle.

Almost every fibre of my being wants to dismiss this fragrance as some more fruity BS, which is supposed to be all playful and daring but is actually just not a very good perfume. I did say ‘almost’ because the great big, gurgling, sweet toothed, child inside me, can’t help but embrace this perfume and want to give it a great big hug and take it home with me. Also... ‘not a very good perfume’ isn’t true either, I don’t recall smelling anything like this, I’m no expert on these fruity, femme marketed florals but I’ve not smelled anything like this. It’s exotic and fruity in a way usually reserved for tropical tropes and beats you’ve smelled before. If this is the lychee accord then it’s really lovely. In fact I hadn’t had a lychee for years until the pandemic came and we were all at home and that, I got some super exotic fruit basket delivered, with a mix of shit I couldn’t even pronounce and the lychee (and similar) were AMAZING!!! So tasty and fragrant. Anyway, this is a really well constructed scent, dries down to a gorgeous rounded, soft musk too. Not my style, but from an amateur perfumery point of view fascinating fruity accord and minimal, modern structure I like. I enjoyed it overall.

I just tested it in the perfumery shop. To me it smells like lots of fresh green grass, just being recently cut and plus lots of mango..I am feeling mango note here..(I know, mango is not listed, but something creates mango of it). Also, there is quite lots of musk here, unisex vibe. Could be on any side. To be honest, I do not detect pure litchi scent here. Very tropical feeling because of big amount of a fresh and bitterish grass and tropical fruits..(mango in my case, with its sweetness and a note of a fir tree, which I always feel about the mango..lol). Edit: Long-lasting. Even on the second day I can feel it, but mostly stays quite a masculine base and still some freshness of the grass. At the beginning and first hours this fragrance is more feminine. After some time- more masculine.

The first hour it is very similar to Purple Molecule 070 · 07 Zarkoperfume, here's the main note is lychee, and there's pitaya, but they smell almost the same. Nice, sweet tropical fruits on a background of green leaves. But if Purple Molecule turns into a sweet, vanilla cream at the dry down, Fun Things Always Happen After Sunset becomes greener and juicier. Tropical notes are very quickly transform into black currants, sour and a little unripe, but after a couple of hours all i can smell is patchouli and the finish of the perfume is not sweet at all, but rather green and fresh. I like that it is fresh and tropical scent, but not too cloying and not too overwhelming. Tropical fruits are well balanced with green notes and won't cause a headache.

Wearing a sample of this for the first time today, I will update as I go. The opening is very heavy on the litchi, and it smells kind of sweaty on me, if you've never smelled litchi, I think you might assume this smells like BO. As I wore it throughout the day, the sweaty note subsided and left a sweeter litchi note, slightly musky. I kept catching whiffs of it and quite enjoying it. Longevity was higher than what I expected.
