Love, Don't Be Shy Eau Fraîche

Yay!! She is finally here!!! Do you know how long I have been waiting for this? Years!!!✨🥳🎉🎉🎉 This is absolutely gorgeous! A much more wearable Love, Don’t be Shy, there is still the sweetness from the marshmallow note but a true “airiness” and luminosity from the “greener” notes that open this fragrance. The neroli and petit grain are so deliciously decadent, I am so happy to smell these notes! The marshmallow and musks come later and the scent becomes softer and slightly powdery as it dries down. The longevity is decent; 5 hours, I’d say. But the skin scent after that is wonderful and oh so cozy!!! Projection/Sillage: moderate. This isn’t the OG, it doesn’t radiate like it. It’s subtle and I L O V E I T !!!!! Price: yes, it’s Kilian...I had a ‘use it once’ 15% off code with Nieman Marcus so that helped a little but yeah, it’s freaking expensive 😓 Season: Spring, Summer and even early Fall. Beautiful and airy and greener. This is a beautiful fragrance, I am very happy to finally have it in my little collection! It is a gem and I am wearing this Baby on heavy rotation 🥳🥳🥳

Love Eau Fraiche is truly the lighter, more delicate version, while still capturing the DNA of the original. It is a warm, floral marshmallow with a delicate touch. The whole fragrance line is addictive to me, but Eau Fraiche is less cloying (to others, I love sweet fragrances) and I don't worry that I am giving people headaches. This is especially true in warmer weather or indoors with a lot of people. It has slightly less longevity (lasts 4-6hrs) and sillage is moderate. I get lots of compliments! It is a more flirty, playful scent rather than a sex bomb fragrance. It is much more expensive than it should be, but that's Kilian and a lot of other fragrance houses these days, unfortunately. I don't have enough money for a full bottle, but I keep buying travel sizes because it's just such a pleasing, easy to wear perfume that I always get compliments on. I've realized I've gone through more of Eau Fraiche and the original than I have any other fragrance in my collection.

This one is a very nice version of the original , it’s much greener with more neroli and dominant orange blossom in the opening. It almost is a silk layer of portofino ( TF) layered over the original Love , minus the chivet. It’s very beautiful and has more of a cologne vibe yet it unmistakably resembles Love. The bottle suits the scent perfect it’s a lighter brighter fresher marshmallow scent almost like an edt of the original. I don’t like it AS much as the original but I still love it as it’s better for daytime and it’s nice to spray onto clothes and hair which I don’t like doing with the orig red juice. This one is a limited addition to celebrate Loves 10 th anniversary :) As this dries down it’s almost the same as the original , super creamy amd musky. As it dries down it’s a huge love for me and equal to orig. without the chivet. Winner! Too bad it’s limited.

I'm obsessed with this scent. I've been on the lookout for airy, light, ethereal 'princess' scents with decent projection and longevity. And I got exactly that. On my skin it opens up as fresh sugary white flowers, and dries down sweet and fluffy without being cloying. Definitely a fragrance that needs to macerate, the marshmallow note is much more prominent in the sample I got than the new bottle. Can't wait to try more eau fraîche scents by Kilian. Update July 2024- Wow, I have to say- allow the fragrance to macerate! The bottle I have just keeps getting better and better, the scent isn't as fleeting anymore and the marshmallow note is developing beautifully. It's becoming less green without losing its initial burst of freshness and the white flowers are still present but more in the background.

I think it's interesting that everyone says this is a less sweet version of LDBS because this is just a fresh, squishy marshmallow on me. I smell nothing other than that after the initial dry-down, but I am not complaining. I wanted LDBS to be sweeter and softer, so this is perfect. I think it lasts decently long, about 5 hours, and it's strong enough to be smelled by others. I do think this will be too sweet in 90+ degree weather so I won't be wearing this in the summer, but there are 3 other seasons. To me, I smell like I just spent all day in the kitchen, making marshmallows for my loved ones.

Fresh and light and, in my opinion, a much better version than the original which is a real sweet-bomb. I would see this as a unisex perfume (I'm a guy) and on my skin, the neroli really shines in the beginning, and it lingers. The freesia, jasmine and musk leaves a nice drydown. Although the vanilla/marshmallow is still there, it doesn't dominate the drydown. Staying power is moderate and sillage is average. In short, it's a really nice spring perfume for me. I like it.

Probably one of my favourite from the Love line. This is a more muskier, drier Love. I love how the original DNA is present but watered down in the best way. Like if the fragrance has settled on your skin already for hours and it’s faint, but the musks help levitate this and make it alive. A great option for men in my opinion. The dry down has me constantly smelling myself to catch that polarizing whiff. 9/10

I love this reimagining of LDBS. It has lifted the weight out of the original, which I do love but it is very heavy and really a winter evening scent for me. I will wear this in all but the hottest weather. It is the perfect, relaxing Sunday fragrance to curl up with and enjoy a book or some junk food TV. I would never wear this to the office because I couldn’t bear this beauty to be contaminated by stress.

Obsesseeedddddddd. Can't stop smelling it. This is veerrryyy sweet so you have to like sweet frags. To me this smells like this very thin saffron sugar that they serve in some eastern country's. In the Netherlands we call it engelenhaar. It smells like an almost burnt incense version of this type of sugar. This to me is def a evening fragrance or fall/winter. Super dark and sweet.

Love this heavenly scent 💕 This smells exactly like the OG, but less cloying and no danger of overspraying. I can only spray the OG twice max, otherwise the sweetness is almost nauseating even though I love the scent profile. With Eau fraiche, I think its more wearable and versatile for any occasion. It feels fuzzier and softer, but just as long lasting as the OG. 💕

I much prefer this to the original Love, Don't be Shy (the regular LDBS has a licoricey undertone on my skin that happily isn't present here). This is a neroli-smothered sugared marshmallow, very light and golden. Low sillage and not a lot of oomph-per-spray, but a beautiful scent nonetheless.

taking back my previous review, this is AMAZING. i dont know if its because my sample of it has been sitting for months, but this is truly gorgeous, its not the original love dont be shy but it is sexy in the same way. beautiful beautiful beautiful.

The first half hour smells like chalky purple Flintstone vitamins, but try not to judge it so soon! It dries down into a warm cookies n' cream white chocolate scent. If you are a sweet chocolate and vanilla lover, this may very well be for you.

I love this so much better than the original! The original is SO sweet. This is still sweet-still a gourmand but it’s lighter and fresher and easy to wear in warm weather. If you love the original this is a safe blind buy. 10 out of 10 for me!!

Need this! I received a sample of this two years ago and I still think about it. If you love light and fresh florals with a drop of fluffy sweetness you need to try this. Created by my all time favorite perfumer. She has an amazing nose.

Muuuuch better than the original. I thought I would hate this smell but the marshmallows accord is not at all “mall scent” or bath body works. It’s very very high quality . I would love this on my S.O.

Its light and airy. I can barley smell it on myself but others can, so it leaves a nice trail

I just got a sample of this in! Love Eau Fraiche is like a slightly softer and greener LDBS~ I get the same powdery marshmallow and orange blossom DNA, with a little more musk and green notes (that I struggle to identify more specifically) I actually find this more cloying than the original! Though maybe that's because I sprayed my arm directly to review, and I usually spray and walk into the cloud ^^; Its very pretty, and I like it for the same reasons I love the original! But I'd personally choose the original over this to avoid the (slightly) sharper quality this has on my skin? If you're torn, try both on your skin and not just paper (this was gross to me on paper, actually!), because one might suit your chemistry better than the other!

To me, when this is first sprayed it actually reminds me of Love Extreme more than the OG. Once it dries down, it reminds me of how Love smells after wearing it all day. Love is my favorite scent, so I really want to get this. But, having the OG and Extreme already, I didn’t feel like this offered anything different besides a watered down and poor longevity of the original. I suppose if the original is too strong you may like this. It is so fleeting for the price..

A lighter and slightly more floral version of the original LDBS. It’s also a little bit less marshmallow-heavy, but only on the drydown. After a few minutes, it’s nearly identical to the original. The neroli and peony are thankfully not too sharp and I don’t really get any rose (but I’m not complaining). Really nice, but if I had to choose one, I would choose the original. Has minimal sillage and lasts about 7 hours.

It really is diet LDBS. I think this can be OK though as the original is probably too strong for the summer, this keeps the sweet marshmallow and orange blossom but makes it more wearable for hot days. And if you weren’t a fan of the original for being too cloying this is a good option. Neither of them last all that long for me sadly but it’s still a nice option.

Smells good! It smells more like Love Extreme. This is a fresh & watery take on LDBS. This version is also creamy. There’s still that sweet marshmallow DNA but turned down. Longevity and sillage isn’t the best. This is a “Your skin but better” type of scent. Would definitely love a bottle of this for next summer!

LDBS Lite It’s more airy and fresh than the original, more sugary/powdery instead of syrupy. Agree with others that it’s basically a neroli marshmallow bomb. This sits a lot closer to the skin, but I still really like it and found myself reaching for it much more than I thought I would last summer.

This looks good! Cant wait to try. Looks like it will smell like dolce and gabbana which I love Update: it doesnt smell like dolce and gabana. Its smells like a watered down version of the original. Or better yet a watered down kissing. The name fits the smell better than the pyramid does

This is exactly what I was hoping for! It's green, fresh, and sweet. I would've liked the original ldbs if it weren't for how cloying it is. This one has the nice marshmallow of the og with a more prominent floral scent.

has a very green and fresh top start which i didn't love but it settles to a very sweet, syrupy marshmello, honey-esk scent thats nice - very girly and sweet. Definitely not an everyday scent but has its moments

Smells very nice and if you felt the Love Don't Be Shy is too sweet than this may be for you as it is much spicier! Much more unisex though still leaning feminine.

A less cloying flanker of LDBS, but still sweet. White flowers coated with sugar. That’s all. I get the greenness like the comment below me. It’s just OK.

It's more of a green neroli & petitgrain (softened & sweetened by the marshmallow note) than the original diabetic orange flower.

If you already have love don’t be shy and neroli portofino by Tom Ford, layer them because this is literally their love child 😍

its okay! its a light dewy sugary rose. very feminine and pretty but i find it doesnt last as long as the original ldbs

This is Love Don't Be Shy Lite.

The opening smells so nice like a floral laundry detergent with marshmallow. But then after 2/3 hours is smells like marshmallow, bad breath and body odour! So nasty. I’m so sad because the opening was so nice. Does anyone else get the BO and bad breath smell?

I'm really enjoying this. I think the original is way too sweet for me. This one is perfection! However, if your biggest concern is the price: this is expensive for the performance you get 😬 Still worth it to me though. 🤩

More floral and spring time version of the original. It’s not bad, but I like the soft girly scent of the og.

Smells like chewing bubble gum while mowing the grass. After about 15 minutes the sweetness of marshmallows starts to come out but it’s overpowered by the smell of melted crayons. Sillage & longevity are nonexistent. Doesn’t even come close to being a sexy fragrance. It’s a hard pass for me.

I LOVE this so much! I was able to get a sample and holy moly! So soft, smooth and watery; perfect for spring and summer. If you like the OG, guaranteed you will love this. I can’t attest to the longevity but I will definitely be buying a bottle.

Happy to tried it but not for me. Super, super, supersweet marshmallows.

holy TRASHHHHH hahahaha what Oh my god this is such a bad take on a good scent lmao like why 3/10 opening I'm being so serious maybe boils to a 5/10 after a while. It's genuinely not the worst scent in the world but it's not just a disappointing flanker, its almost an actual joke

On paper, the neroli and petit grain are a lot more prominent. On me however, it's definitely still sweet and has that original LBDS's DNA with the marshmallow. It's not overwhelmed by greenness by any means on my skin. I definitely like this better than the original. It's softer and creamier and gentler, but definitely still there! This actually reminds me of Oriana, but without the citrus focus. They are similar in intensity in terms of the sweetness imo. I wouldn't say it's a 'watered down' version of Love or Love Extreme, and I don't think it's redundant either. Love original is for if you like a sweeter and stronger version, Love Extreme for if you want that but with an intense rose as well. This is for if you want to be more subtle and have a softer cozier experience! I do get a hint of rose in this one but it's mainly still the marshmallow and orange blossom. I think it really depends on personal taste because each of these offer a different experience. I'm not sure how well this one performs yet so I'll test it a bit more to see, but I definitely do like this!

This newly released version is not the same as the 2019 one. On Kilian's site it now says the mid notes are rose and orange blossom, instead of the jasmine/freesia/peony. I chatted with a Kilian rep on their website and they said the mid notes did indeed change and this juice smells differently than when it was released prior. I blind bought this and I think it smells like a more simplistic version of LDBS with the added freshness of the neroli/petitgrain in the opening. Still very sweet marshmallow at the base, but the fresh opening helps cut down the sweetness a bit. However this opening is not nearly as green as something like Sintra by Memo. That was too much petitgrain for me to handle. I also feel like the opening on this fades fairly quickly and you are left with a very marshmallow centric fragrance. I no longer have my bottle of LDBS so I can't compare the two side by side. But I think it is definitely a lighter fragrance with poorer performance and longevity than LDBS.

It’s back but to me it’s not better or the same as the original. This is still a pretty fragrance though, while it lasts that is (performance and longevity is very poor). It just doesn’t smell like my old bottle to me and I don’t have much left, maybe 5ml but I prefer the older formulation and I found it to be longer lasting, not a beast but it was decent. Interesting to read the reviewer below contacted Kilian and they said the mid notes have changed so I’m not crazy lol. All in all it still smells nice even though I prefer the original. Besides the scent change, it’s the lower than previously low performance that kills it for me. Seriously, it’s like scented water now, blink and you miss it so I won’t be picking up a new bottle sadly. The current formation reminds me of Guimauve de Noel from memory which also doesn’t have great performance but it’s a bit better than this.

I bought this to treat myself after buying decants of the original LDBS and LDBS Extreme. I wanted to have a Love so badly! I'm happy I splurged on LDBS Eau Fraiche because it is everything I thought the original should have been. So much more enjoyable to wear because it truly is an Eau Fraiche fragrance. I think it is pretty much identical to the original but easier to wear because it is less cloying and heavy. Also, the extreme just has too much rose for my preference. I'm happy I got a luxury perfume. I suggest it if you already know what Love is supposed to smell like, otherwise it is not a safe blind buy in my opinion. Only downside is that it does not last long! You will need to reapply during the day. That may be a dealbreaker for someone because this is an almost $300 perfume if you include tax.

If anyone has a bottle for sale I am very interested!!! Edit: So I was lucky enough to get a full bottle of this recently! It is everything I wanted it to be. The lighter fresher more citrus forward version of LDBS while maintaining the same DNA. I love it. If LDBS shines in the fall/winter, eau Fraiche was made for spring/summer. There is no too sweet heaviness - it’s just sweet enough! It seems similar to Oriana from memory but I will need to test them side by side to really make that judgement. I think Kilian made a mistake discontinuing this one :/

Definitely less sweet than the original or extreme version. It has an ethereal quality to it- which the other ones do have, but this is less sweet so that quality almost comes out more. I am obsessed with this love line by Kilian. I wish I could own all of them. To be clear this is still a sweet fragrance, but it is heavier on the floral notes and less on the marshmallow notes, initially it almost has a bitter petitgrain note- interesting, but it dries down and goes away within 5 mins. Perhaps this is more wearable than the others in hot weather.
