Old Fashioned

This one is really good. Edit: This definitely doesn’t smell like Angel Share. That’s a very lazy description. Is it redundant? Angel share smells like an apple pie/pastry. This doesn’t. This is way more photorealistic boozy. They wouldn’t be redundant due to the scent being the same. The redundancy would be from them being used in similar situations. This one is a rollercoaster Upon first two sprays, I was like it’s good, but meh. I definitely got a sawdust and slightly sweet fruity vibe. Reminded me of Apple Brandy with like a sawdust aspect lol. Re-applied hours later. There is definitely a whiskey accord, slightly sweet orange, and that sawdust vibe is still there (guessing that’s the wheat). The name suits it well. I am starting to like it more and more as time goes on. When it dries down it starts to smooth out. In a good way. At this point it’s starting to get addictive lol. I give myself another couple sprays and that sawdust type smell is starting to turn kind of Smokey. I think that’s the tobacco people are saying they smell. At this point it’s starting to smell like a Smokey caramel. This is some good stuff. If you sample it give it a chance. Don’t write it off too quickly. After the first couple hours I started to really really enjoy this. Might not be the same for everyone but it’s been quite the rollercoaster for me and I love it. Longevity TBD. I feel like it’s not projecting for more than a few hours but I could easily be going anosmic. (It happens)

Old Fashioned is a masterpiece. It’s so multifaceted you wouldn’t even believe it. Don’t let the notes fool you. At first you get hit with the most realistic single malt accord, the next second you can actually smell wheat. Yes, wheat. (Kilian nailed that note too, Sidonie is a great perfumer, there’s zero doubt about it) Then of course the cedarwood, giving the fragrance an aged oak barrel kind of smell. Beautiful. The dry down is magical. I’m actually getting plum from this (it could be the davana giving this fruity aspect to the fragrance). Then, the immortelle absolute gives this fragrance a yummy, almost honey-like sweetness which is simply delicious and addictive. The styrax and tolu balsam at the base smell like holy raisins slash dried fruits falling from the hand of an angel... giving this divine concoction great longevity and a unique and addictive quality. It is not a projecting powerhouse, actually it sits pretty close to the skin but you still get a nice little bubble around you. It’s more like a aura around the wearer, if that makes sense. I’ve noticed it draws people in... People want to get closer and closer to you to be left intoxicated by your scent. It’s a compliment getter, if you’re into that. A timeless classic and a great addition to The Liquors line. Brilliant.

I get my engraved bottle in a few days. Now... Idk WTF people are talking about. This is not Single Malt, there is no sweet fruit vibe in this. This is Single Malt's toxic masculinity older brother. Also where the booze wore off quick, replaced by vanilla, sugar, and that powder in SM, in this the boozy vibe sticks around. I love it, and as has been stated, I don't get much sweetness at all, in fact i get dry with some bitterness. Starts off strong oak barrel whiskey, has a bit of a smokeyness to it. Then you start getting a bit of a dark chocolate vibe in the mid, gets much smoother from the tobacco and still retains that boozy vibe. Overall, I really enjoyed it. My girl likes it, but is still on the fence overall. Had a 2ml decant and put a few sprays on at Saks 5th Ave before buying to make sure my decant was legit. We went for drinks right after, and she made me laugh, but she's right. She sniffed me, then my glass (old fashioned or neat are my drinks of choice), and said: "this doesn't really smell like that." Because truthfully it lacks something. Smells great, and i do love it, but constructive criticism here... Needed some dark bourbon cherry, or orange to give a faint touch fruity sweetness, which would also stay true to the drink. I don't get anything like that

This smells almost identical to Single Malt with the plum toned down in the opening and the davana wheat and vanilla turned up. How can you sit here and say it’s not the same when you don’t even own a bottle? Oh I wore one spray 8 days ago from the Kilian store. Just sit down and be quiet. No one wants to hear it. I have 200ml of Single Malt refills, a full bottle of the original Single Malt and a 100ml of Old Fashioned and a 100ml refill right in front of me. I have compared them side by side multiple times. I have sprayed this stuff to death and worn the crap out of both in the past month. If you haven’t smelled it then don’t even leave a review, shut up. All you’re doing is mudding the waters. How do you have a clue when you haven’t spent any time with the fragrance?! Yes it’s lacking the amazing plum in the opening. Get over it! This is still amazing! I compared the ingredients from both and the only difference is SM has Eugenol and OF does not. To my nose its almost identical minus the opening. The plum does not stick around very long in the OG so its not a huge let down anyways. I love this stuff and will continue to show nothing but love for Kilian and my all time favorite perfumer Sidonie. If you are a big fan of SM or boozy fragrances then this is a must have!

This smelt very much like a nice scotch Whiskey that was poured onto my skin for the first 10 minutes very photorealistic, but as someone who enjoys the smell of whisky I liked it, after the opening it becomes a much woodier-,mildly spiced Whiskey fragrance that loses much of it's boozy nature, the longer into the dry down it goes, the more balsamic it starts to smell too but in a good way, at times to my nose it smells more like whisky mainly, and at others the whisky smells more like actual wheat, but it interchanges, I definitely like it more than I thought I would, and definitely one of my favourites from Kilian Paris, and as for the apple brandy on the rocks comparisons, I can see vaguely where they come from, but to me they're both different scents that albeit may evoke similar feelings during the wearing and in the dry down, they're ultimately different scents to my nose atleast, with this being more boozy and laid back, and 'ABOTR' being a lot fresher and smooth. This is good for all seasons except summer and hot days in general, and can be dressed both up and down, but definitely leans to more formal occasions on my opinion, solid release from Kilian. Final Verdict is a 8.8/10
