Straight to Heaven Oud and Musk Special Blend 2021

I just purchased this a few days ago and I have to admit I am blown away by it. I have the original STH but wanted something a little denser for the colder months, since I primarily use the OG in the spring and summer. It is a little too cedar forward for the cooler weather. From the opening it is absolutely mesmerising and comparing it to the OG on the opposite wrist it was immediately stronger in the rum note, with a darker brooding background behind it that was almost salty and skanky. The nutmeg accord is listed, but it is not prominent. In fact it seems the whole top end is rum and the rest is patchouli, musk and oud. It transitions in about 3 hours to a very strong skin scent, which is addictive and mesmerising in the same way that Roja Enigma Parfum (not Parfum cologne) is. The Roja does not project so much, but when you get close to it you are intoxicated by a swirling dream of cognac, vanilla, benzoin and tobacco. With STH M and O, it is a swirling blend of rum, oud, patchouli, and musk. Sadly, it dies down after about 7-8 hours. This was my only disappointment. I wanted to go on smelling it forever, but its performance was not on the level of Dark Lord or Royal Leather, which I expected from the description. As for use cases, I would say that this is ONLY a date night scent. It is dark, seductive, and mind blowing, and best for intimate encounters, inviting that special person to come closer. Compared to the OG, it is VERY different, but retains some basic DNA. I have not tried SH Ex, but that sounds to me like Initio Side Effects (which I can't stand because it is too sweet), with amped up Vanilla and Rum. This is pure class, only marks against it is that it could last longer. So I give it an 9/10, while the OG gets a 8/10. As a disclaimer, I have 14 Kilians and it is my favourite brand. A month later, after comparing it side by side with Fragrance du Bois Oud offerings (like Sahraa, which costs even more) it seems that the FDB do not last all that long (8 hours or so max) and maybe we have been conditioned to artificial Oud, so when the real stuff comes along (like FDB or Kilian) we think it is not long lived enough. All I can say is that relative to these £400 fragrances, STH OM is better to my nose - better art direction, better ides. So I up my score to 10/10, simply because it is better than Sahraa, one of the flagship fragrances from a flagship Oud brand.

This fragrance gets a score of 11/10 from me. If you're on this page you probably know how the original Straight to Heaven and STHE smell. Take that DNA and add on top of it the mulchy oud from Louis Vuitton Nuit de Feu and the musk from Frederic Malle Musc Ravageur, and that is what this fragrance is. In my mind this is superior to Roja Creation E Parfum. You simply cannot beat this stuff. This is the scent of someone who is incredibly sophisticated, someone who collects art and rare bottles of Scotch and cognac. I desperately want a decanter of this fragrance and I hope they make one at some point. I think this is easily wearable year-round if you are that person that I described above. Even if you aren't that person, this fragrance will make you feel like that person. I think this fragrance lasts way longer than the people below realize. I have smelled this lingering on my skin a full day after application, and by that point is has totally transformed. This fragrance may inspire me to become a wealthy socialite. This is the fragrance of Dorian Gray.

Bought my second bottle in anticipation of this selling out soon. I've recently been exposed to dirty oud fragrances and I now love them. To the untrained nose it is challenging during the opening and when you you spray it on a blotter in a store you'll only smell the dirty notes. You need to spray it on your body to appreciate the development on skin. I love straight to heaven and this version is drier and less sweet, much more masculine leaning where I feel the original is more unisex. This potion is slightly stronger with slightly better performance overall... Key word being slightly there. Despite this I really love this juice and the oud compliments the original formulation superbly Side note - my dad is a classic frag head... aramis, korous, drakkar noir... and he loves this. To me this is a modern frag and to get that response from him about this special blend is significant. Amazing fragrance, try it if you're lucky to get here on time. Future desirable multi $$$ in the making

This Straight to heaven Musk & Oud Special blend 2021 opens with this interesting fresh Raw and Animalic dirt musk , Oud, Vanilla , and RUM...Lots of it. (Surprised it's not listed as ingredient) The Rum plays a very important role in this whole chemistry, it is amazing, more prominent then the Sth extreme. The blending of this rum is so well with the vanilla, it gives of a euphoric tingling sensation to my nose, makes you want drink this cocktail. The Drydown is pure Sweet Rum vanilla desert. This is a really amazing unique fragrance, wish it wasn't limited, but that's what makes it a special blend. Best weather to use for: Winter, early Spring, late Fall

I own one of the few bottles released and believe most people either 1. don't own or 2. expected more STH than Musk Oud. This is an oud lovers fragrance and a Middle Easterner oud lovers kind of fragrance. Initial spray is a blast of nutmeg and deep oud and after 10 minutes the STH portions show themselves. Overall, this is a keeper for me and one that would be best for cool upscale evenings. Love it.

Straight to Heaven Oud & Musc is the most extreme special blend to date. The gorgeous combination of rum, and oud is smooth and well-blended.

TBH, this is the most realistic Vietnam oud smell I have came across from Designer/Niche brand. I personally swirled a little wild Vietnam Oud with Kilian Playing With the Devil before, and man that was the most amazing animalic peach scent I have ever smelled. This one's opening is almost exactly the same with the funky woody smell. The only complaint is that the opening only lasted 30 minutes on my skin. WTF? I am paying top dollars for this, and I do expect it to perform better, not just a super does of iso-e-super in half an hour. Will give it another try next couple days.

Got this in a discovery set i think im going to give it to my boyfriend it is quite masculine but I will try layering it with more feminine scents, smells strongly of oud and cedar, very woody and great for the winter

Like a glass of rum sitting on Sexy Santa’s Lap by a roaring fire. This goes hard. Boozey cinnamon woody goodness. Very unisex and would get you laid either way.

A woody patchouli...so yes just a LOT of patchouli with a polished woody accord (coffee like) on a huge base of musk...very simple and easy to wear as always with this very classic accord sees hundred of times. What are all those comments dazzled by the bling blings? Is it the first time you smell parchouli? No need to do a show and pay a fortune to put that perfume in a black box with gold letters like all the perfumes à la Tom Ford. Oud Divin by Piguet is a good twin with more personnality.

I received a sample of this. Smells very woody almost like pine. The cedar is very prominent. It reminds me of grandmas hope chest. Has a smoky undertone. It’s not terrible but it’s not my thing. It reminds me of being in the Forrest after a heavy rain. Gave it away.

This to me was a disappointment. The "Eco Friendly" presentation is cheep in my opinion. It looks generic and frankly laser etching your standard STH bottle does not make it an "exclusive" or "special" offering in my opinion. The fragrance itself is in a word "tame." To me it was a standard STH with a hint of Oud. Honestly STH Extreme is a far better option then this "special blend". I am a die hard Kilian fan and this was not what I have come to expect from Kilian and I am very disappointed overall by the release. I personally would not spend the retail price to buy this and I am glad I sampled this prior to opening my bottle. I would wait for the rerelease of Straight to Heaven Extreme before I would buy this.

I don't remember how (or why), but I managed to get a sample decant from someone who managed to get a FB of this back when it was released. I remember being disappointed the first time I tried it -- I used to be (less of a) blowhard back then about the OBVIOUSLY faux oud used in niche / mainstream scents (I'm not an oud snob, I genuinely do NOT like it, but I know when it's real and when it's synth), and I was let down by how it felt like a watered-down STH with fake oud and musk. But now, I feel much the same, but I have a different perspective on the whole scent. The oud comes and goes within an hour -- fat, sticky, medicinal and tokenistic. The musk hangs around longer, but it's nowhere near as potent and prevalent -- it lingers throughout, but, for me, the most notable thing about this scent is how the STH aspect is TOTALLY stripped back -- it's nowhere near as 3D, nuanced and textured as OG STH (or even STHE), it's got a lot less going on (the patch and woods are front and centre, and the rum is more of a secondary element). Both this and OG STH / STHE are valid and deserve to exist, but this version, the part that remains AFTER the oud and musk subside, is a lot more basic, true, but no less present. It's like a 2D version of the OG, but no less fully-fledged, realised and developed. Both are fine, and both work well. I imagine perfumers, when they are in the final stages of finalising a scent, get to the part where version 21AMiiv is more or less as good as 23BQix, and as a result, flankers make their way onto the market. I imagine this is what's happened here, the 'final product' had a sister version too good to be shelved, and why not release it? Anyway, if you didn't get this, don't fret, the oud doesn't add all that much (and dies quickly, anyway), and the musk elements don't add all that much to the original.

This will be my SOTN on Halloween. I think I’ve finally found a fragrance that fits the magic of this day. Previously Musc Ravageur was always my SOTN for Halloween because the clove note smells like the inside of a rubber Halloween mask. MR got reformulated into a relatively boring gourmand, so STH Oud & Musk takes its place. Why? It’s dark and dangerous, but not to the extent that it will turn people off and scare people away from you (like ELDO Rien). STH Oud & Musk draws people in for a better whiff because it’s so mesmerizing ;) The best fragrance in my collection of 200+ bottles

The 'oud' is there at the start, loud, present, apparent, and then, for me, it dies quite fast. A little too fast...don't get me wrong, I LOVE STH and it's in my constant rotation and I've been a MASSIVE fan of it since 2013, but for mine, I was a little let down with this offering. About an hour or two in, the 'oud' goes, and what remains is a lighter STH, which is not bad at all (seriously, 8/10 or so), but the original STH is better in my opinion. There's less booze, less nutmeg and less cedar. All in all, worth trying out, but not for me...

Holy moly, it's luxurious. This is it. It's one of the best perfumes ever made. This is a marriage between Kilian Cruel Intentions & Straight to Heaven. This fills up rooms, lasts long. It's definitely upscale and not for everyday wear. It opens up with the Cruel Intentions Oud and dirtiness (vetiver) up top and the rest is standard STH with a pump of ambergris & cashmeran

This is just a way more expensive, slightly smoother & more refined Tiziana Terenzi Ursa to be completely honest. If you wanna smell like this for a literal 1/3rd of the cost you can. You also don’t get a special presentation on this. Swing and miss on this one, at least for me. It smells great but not at all worth it at the retail cost.

If those are the official notes, then this is going to be a hard pass for me. Just looks incredibly boring. Why not keep the signature rum note and then add some leather as well?
