Byblos Fusion

I've owned a bottle of this for nearly two years...."Huh - can't be very good if you never reach for it", I hear you say? Well, ordinarily I would agree but in this case no it's because I want to be able to enjoy this particular formulation for as long as I can so I use it very sparingly. It was quite difficult to track down a genuine bottle of this when I first bought it and when I got it I was immediately impressed. It's one of those scents that tends to stay amongst the first fragrances you think of when recalling your favourite or enjoyable scents. This isn't niche quality by any means but it is versatile and positively received by everyone I have been in contact with when wearing it. Despite it's quirky ingredients that might initially suggest it could be divisive and I accept there may be some who don't enjoy this type of scent but I think most would like it if not love it. In my humble opinion I consider this to be an all year round, office or casual daytime scent of 'fresh-spicy-fruity-Oud' hence I think, designed to be worn by young and mature alike and it accomplishes quite a memorable fragrance. The most dominant notes that always stand forth are to my senses are of course the citrus in the opening but the dry down is Guaiac Wood, Pepper, Oud and Geranium. In warmer weather I also pick up an usual but very pleasant warm, almost powdery floral sort of note which I can only guess at being the Litchi blended with maybe Patchouli and/or Juniper? I'm no expert but that for me makes it very wearable in summer. Performance I get is pretty good too. I have fairly dry skin so do moisturize daily - which is perfectly acceptable for us chaps these days, am I right? :o) - and I get a strong 6-8 hours with the first two hours with strong projection, which is really plenty for a daytime scent. Fusion is no super unique triumph of olfactory craft but it is a very pleasant scent that has a little bit of 'something different' about it which is why it will always have a place in my collection. It can still be picked up for between £25 and £30 for 100ml eau de parfum here in the UK so still a bargain. I am just hesitant at buying a more recent bottle in case - like so many fragrances - it has been reformulated into low-performance, messy, over-synthetic obscurity, which would be a real shame. I will keep my fingers crossed.

today finally i bought it.its nice fresh oudy scent.very underrated but better than many wrongly overhyped fragrances these days.ifound it for cheap.it has depth and masculinity feel.NIIIIIICEEE cheapie. 8.5/10

Here perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin serves a lovely shake and roll with an ethereal mellow drift that mimics a 'frankin-melon' bouncing in an aromatic pepper court, with equal slices of juicy sweet and juicy tart that collectively fuse as an enjoyable, aqueous, metallic 'chewing gum' wrap... Fruity on the periphery due to a clever use of a rare litchi note in masculine perfumery, along side a citrus top that punctuates a whole lotta of zest to a generally woody aromatic accord. Predominately, a dewy bergamot forward pepper that is merely shaped into 'metallized' cool by a hearty sheen of geranium and rosemary, and an accessible woody variation of oud, guaiac, sandalwood and patchouli in its base...Thankfully, Fusion is an eau de parfum concentration with decent silage/naturally close projection and one that reveals with each wear from personal experience. Fresh, woody, youthful and for some it may have the 'dumb reach' hidden on its label, though one that has more smarts, savvy, and quirkiness, in its hinted familiarity...Under the radar, cheap as chips and fine quality. Dig!

Warning: you have to be an athlete to wear this! I really like the idea behind this. The scent is nothing ground breaking but it's different than anything I own. It's very masculine and "manly" just how they portray it. Very "macho." It starts off almost a little metallic with the bergamot, lots of black pepper (but not too much) and deep woods. It doesn't lose the pepper throughout its life. It dries down to a woody, peppery, fruity combo. Definitely aimed at the younger generation. I definitely like it. Great blind buy - after reading their portrayal of the fragrance I had to have it. I can see this as a head turner for sure. In my opinion: Scent - 7.5/10 Longevity - 8/10 (this stuff is strong) Sillage: 7/10

Good scent, and good longevity, I don't know why it is not popular. Maybe because it is Italian not a french one.. anyway I get the same vibe of Davidoff coolwater night dive, although the notes are different. is it just me?
