Cielo

A friend suggested Cielo (one of her summer fragrances) when, while vacationing in Southern Italy, I ran out of what I was wearing at the time (Mugler's original Angel). I must say, it's very similar to Angel, but lighter, more airy and pleasant to the crowd (surrounding you) who usually hates Angel. Not that I care for people's reactions to whatever I might be wearing at any given moment, but in a beach town with an average of 90F, it was certainly like being enveloped in a silk scarf during balmy nights.

This is identical to Thierry Mugler Angel. When it was released, lots of girls wore this as a cheaper alternative. Literally the same juice exactly. It’s really either love or hate.

I'm a guy and I've been using this EdT when I was younger. I wouldn't recommend it to any adult man. It's very SWEET - it could suit very young and delicate boys but I found its scent to be somewhat girlish. It starts as a light, aeteral and delicate EdT, but soon the sweety notes gets stronger - and they're actually the ones that last longer. Beware: if you tend to spray EdT on your scarves/jackets, the perfume won't go easily away unless you wash them! I don't really know what's with this parfume, but its heaviness is surprising - nutmeg, coconut and vanilla notes all together may be a too candy-ish mix, I guess. Probably girls (especially younger ones) will love it, but still, I wouldn't use it in summer: too sweet e "powdery" (maybe, this is the reason why the called it Cielo, since it means "Sky" in italian). _ Profumo dolciastro, parte bene con note leggere e ariose ma poi subentrano sentori di vaniglia e noce moscata molto persistenti e ben distinguibili. Decisamente troppo dolci per un uomo o per una signora adulti - secondo il mio parere, è un profumo ideale per donne non proprio avanti con gli anni e per ragazzi giovanissimi. Allo stesso modo, proprio per questa sua dolcezza "polverosa" e stucchevole, potrebbe esser preferibile evitarlo in estate.

I don't know about other countries, but in Italy this was super popular. I used to wear it as a teenager and in the first years of university, starting way before knowing that it was basically the dupe of Angel by Mugler. The patchouli-vanilla-nutmeg combo here is strong but lovely at the same time.

It's very similar to TM Angel. When I wear it my co-workers think it's Angel. Lasting power is great - all day. It's sweet, warm but without that strong patchouli note which Angel has. I like it a lot. And it's cheap.

Spicy and really strong at first, then with time it evolves in a soft, sweet scent. I used to hate it, but now I kind of like it, mostly because I realized I need to spray only a little and give it time to soften

Beautiful,soft,airy.It does bear resemblance with Angel,much better with Innocent.I haven't seen it on the shelves since the previous decade.

I used to wear this during my youth, alternating it with other scent, from when I was twelve until fifteen years old. I had smelled this on my uncle. When I bought it I didn't know it was a Mugler's Angel edp dupe...the strange think is my sister purchased both Angel and Wish by Chopard just a year after, while I was still occasionally wearing this and, comparing them, the effect was indeed different! As if someone decided to decline the exact same composition in to a female, male and androgynous version. The same yet different, so strange. The female version was surely Wish by Chopard, fruity sweet bomb with more lactonic coconut, flowers, + the Angel dna; the androgynus version, in this comparisons, was Angel (taken alone I consider it feminine), sweet, powdery but with an earthy, oily patchuli essence overdose. Unique and unforgettable. Cielo was the masculine version: fresh, still sweet but less then Angel, the honey more raw and not at all chocolaty, with lots of dry spice in it, and the patchouli more gentle. Also less powdery then Angel, and of course more light. A baby blue powderiness...just like it's name, Cielo (Sky in Italian). It was nicely blended and multifaceted. While wearing this, at that age, I understood that it was similar to Angel and Wish (of wich I stole many sprays to my sister) but still I felt like wearing a different thing. Not just a more light version but a different/similar one. Unfortunatelly it has changed for the worst, it lends now flat, with bad performance and a plastic-y smell. Like a bad childish rendition of Angel. Before it was sold in an edp concentration, in a gray, satin, cylindrical glass bottle with blue writing on. And the nozzle was that of a classic perfume. Now it is available in edt and body spray that have the same plastic packanging and the nozzle of a perfumed body water, so if you still want to buy read the description well. If you are searching for a low cost dupe of Angel I suggest you find something else. Instead, if you wish to try Byblos as a brand (it was after all one good italian brand during late 70', 80's and 90's) then I would propose you start from Luna edt. An ethereal purplish aldehydic little concoction. Or the warm, spicy-firey Fuoco and Metal Sensation. I still repurchased it for nostalgic reasons, I have so many memories of so many first experiences attached to it...but it is the shell of what it was. As they say.. all good things must come to an end.

Horrible stink. Ended up first in he bathroom as air freshener but even there I could not stand it. Worthy of a trash can.

This smells like a men's perfume.

I believe this is the perfume I had as a teen while my friend had the Angel Celestial body cream. My mom was NOT going to be buying me a $150 perfume when I was 15 but getting this was in my budget then. Funny thing is that my friend loved this one and would always spray herself with this when she came over. I think I remember her wanting me to bring it with me when we went places too and her even borrowing it. It wasn't as complex and stunning as Angel was, but it was unique, interesting, and quite good. The nutmeg and the coconut made this a bit different and I remember it having a musky presence as well and I think that's where people are getting the unisex/masculine hints from. I doubt buying a bottle of this would be any good now, time is not kind to vintage, older bottles and they will often just have to be olfactive memories for us.

Cielo by Byblos to me is not a summer fragrance. Rich, strong, luxurious . This is a winter fragrance that makes any woman feel like a sexy queen. Leaves your bed wanting to smell it over and over. One of my favorites and I have sold fragrances for 25 Years.......

I have this one, smells something like a-men + angel , but on me its less sweet, on my skin smells like chocolate-coffe coconut with patchouli.. Quite strong at first couple of hours, longevity is good, I receieved compliment first day of wearing ..

Horrible, too spicy and too strong, spray bottles like this, make easy to spray too much perfume inducing headache. Yes, it's a dupe for Angel, but I still find it awful. I can't recognize any floral/vanilla notes.

I agree, very similar to Angel. Long lasting fragrance that I could also wear to the office.
