There are numerous reasons why Tabac Sura - part of Byermia's bespoke collection - resides close to the pinnacle of tobacco fragrances, and their in-house cigar tincture is just one of them. Constructed like a delicate 'mille feuille' of layered accords, Tabac Sura's swoon-worthy opening feels like a dense rum-soaked dark chocolate: one eaten in a gentleman's retreat with Cuban cigars, in wingback leather chairs. Part of what makes this so utterly addictive are the astonishing animalics: urinous castoreum, briny ambergris, and a musk of unparalleled quality. The sum of these components, layered between thick blankets of Tahitian and Madagascan vanilla is a narcotizing scent that is profoundly woody in its distinction. Copper leaves, cognac-coloured rum, ebonised woods and gruff animalic nuances make it a MUST HAVE before its gone.

The fragrance is very luxurious and formal .. suitable for special occasions .. the notes you clearly smell are oud, cocoa, rum, vanilla, and tobacco .. the blend reminded me the of concentrated mulberry syrup and also Vimto juice .. I’m not sure how that scent reached me even though there are no fruity notes .. the fragrance has excellent longevity and very good projection .. It’s a limited edition of 50 bottles and a second batch will be released later this year .. definitely worth buying

I do not write reviews as seen in my profile but had to for this one. 10/10 Tobacco is my favorite note and after trying many many tobacco frags, this is king of the authentic tobacco/cigar scents from the many I have tested. The vanilla notes listed may suggest this is sweet but it is not. Perfect amount and blended very nicely which makes it hardly noticeable. Tobacco heavy with the woodsy notes, rum, ambergris, castoreum, oud and vanilla all rounding it out. Reminds me of walking into the humidor of our local cigar shop with my father when I was younger. Backup bottle worthy.

While having some similarities to agrani it has signify changes, this is focused on the tobacco, being a rich and dense tobacco with a warm resinous Tonka vanillaish base. Though the opening has a bitter smell that's not appealing, after that beauty.

A scent that takes you to a cigar bar almost immediately. It opens with a cigar and vanilla tincture with a boozy rum and oak and then as it dries down revels facets of ebony, musk, labdanum , slight ambergris and castoreum. A masculine leaning mature scent with moderate projection and good longevity. Quite nice. Enjoy!

Not my usual style (too sticky sweet), but fun to wear as an isolated experience. I tested on card before going out on a cosy winter’s date night to see the Mandalorian movie at the cinemas with my well-worn spouse of 13 years. On card, rum-soaked vanilla flooded my nostrils, and I almost didn’t wear it for fear of smelling like a young wanna-be alpha male. But I’m glad I did, as it showed different facets on my skin. On first spray, there was a big hit of something fishy – perhaps ambergris up close to the top. This subsided, and the main opening players of vanilla and rum could dance their tango. I didn’t detect any tobacco personally; I usually love tobacco for its subtle warmth and charm but here it was overpowered by the boozy gourmand elements. As is our wont, we had smuggled our own snacks and drinks into the movies; salted caramel ice cream with Biscoff muffins all washed down with a big flagon of creamy woobla. I was a little afeared that this, combined with my fragrance choice, would be too syrupy and overpowering and ruin my cinematic experience, jolting me out of the Star Wars universe in fits of fuzzy-toothed nausea, but the opposite was true.... thanks to animalics. The fishy ambergris that initially rose up to bite me upon first spray, retreated into the background for a while, only to reemerge slowly through the scent progression. I couldn’t detect much oud or castoreum which is a shame (other reviewers here have cited the raspberry factor, so often a glorious part of castoreum – but hiding from my nostrils in this composition behind ambergris’ mammoth, murky musk.) I found this ambergris simultaneously revolting, and exhilarating. It was as briny and savoury-salty as pond slime. I don’t believe I’ve ever smelt real ambergris in a composition – could this be my first introduction? It was unmistakable and stood out like bantha bollocks even before I’d consulted the notes pyramid on Fragrantica or Byermia’s official website. A large portion of the Mandalorian film was set inside the Hutt’s swampy palace and every time we ventured into those humid, moss-covered surrounds, I found myself sniffing my wrist and smiling, not because I liked it, but because of its artistic perfection in that moment. Tabac Sura smells like the interior of the Hutt Palace - heady hookah pipes, decadent desserts, and deadly swamp monsters lurking in the depths below.

Tabac Sura feels less like a perfume and more like an intimate confession, bottled. You can sense its origin story in every breath: a patient, almost obsessive devotion to materials, time, and restraint. This is a fragrance born not from trend or market brief, but from love—specifically, a love for tobacco in its most honest form. From the first sniff, the tobacco announces itself with quiet authority. It smells unmistakably real—like fresh pipe tobacco and cigar leaf, where you can detect the greenness of the leaves, and the lingering haze of smoke still clinging to ash. There’s a lived-in quality to it, as if the fragrance carries memory: a wooden humidor, a slow burn, a moment held just a second longer than necessary. Opposing this is the vanilla—smooth, natural, and profoundly elegant. It doesn’t shout, glaze, or syrup itself across the composition. Instead, it hums softly, offering just enough warmth and sweetness to round the edges of the tobacco without taming it. This vanilla feels tactile and organic, almost creamy in texture, and remarkably lifelike. Together, the two create a striking contrast—black and white, shadow and light—locked in a careful, deliberate dance. There is an unmistakable sense of richness—raw, expensive, and unpolished in the best possible way. The animalics, particularly, add a subtle growl—a leathery, musky undertone that amplifies the realism of the composition. It’s a masterful reminder of how animalic notes, when used with restraint and intent, can give a fragrance soul. Above all, Tabac Sura feels true. True to its ingredients, true to its inspiration, and true to the idea that perfume can be art rather than adornment. This is tobacco and vanilla in their most essential form—unfiltered, beautifully balanced, and deeply evocative. A rare fragrance that doesn’t try to please everyone, but instead rewards those willing to listen closely. A small note from me: This is my very first review on Fragrantica, and I felt compelled to write it, to support an upcoming perfumer whose passion for the craft is so evident in the work itself. You can feel the care, patience, and respect for raw materials poured into every stage of Tabac Sura’s creation. I hope this review helps anyone who’s on the fence about sampling or purchasing it.

I hate to say it since I held high hopes for this one due to the many positive reviews but this is not well done IMO. It does not achieve the smell of a humidor, nor the smell of a cigarette (lit or unlit). Its closer to JUUL’s Virginia Tobacco pods sitting on a bed of benzaldehyde or cherry almond like materials. This is a perfume that uses a particular extraction of the leaf ( that unfortunately I cant remember, could be distillation vs extraction vs absolute ) that leaves a semi-harsh distasteful chemical like note. Whatever it is Ive used it before in making perfume (purchased from less reputable and cheaper sources) and no matter what you do, it permeates and dominates the juice, creating a very artificial and astringent final product vs real tobacco absolute. If this was the perfumers intent, then thats fine, but I cant say its useful in the same way some intense animal notes (Civet, Hyrax or real Ambergris) or smoky notes (guiacol, birch tar, cade oil) are. Tabac Sura is also generally flat and doesnt evolve, stays close to the skin lacking any real nuance. I hate leaving negative reviews, but it simply smells like cheap tobacco flavored vape juice. 4.5/10

A scent that takes me straight into a cigar lounge almost instantly. It opens on a rich cigar leaf accord wrapped in vanilla tincture, with a boozy touch of rum and polished oak. As it dries down, darker tones come through - ebony woods, soft musk, labdanum, with a subtle hint of ambergris and castoreum adding that quiet animalic depth. I’m always on the hunt for a great tobacco scent - something that hits the same nerve as Baque or Jeke from Slumberhouse - and this definitely scratches that itch. Masculine-leaning and mature, with moderate projection and solid longevity. Smooth, comforting, and very easy to enjoy.

A carefully, respectfully, composed (by perfumer Ashek Zubayer) tobacco masterpiece that carves a place for itself among tobacco perfumes. It's not (sweet) pipe tobacco or a burning cigar; it's more like the inside of an expensive humidor with wood + tobacco + vanilla + cocoa + a hint of rum. My greatest thrill is layering it with a ROSE perfume. Fantastic. 10/10

Really enjoyable fragrance. Castoreum is so strong for the first spray but after that settles it’s a really nice, woody, tobacco fragrance. I can’t wait for this to develop a little over time and bring it back out in the cooler months.

Smoke, sweet, leathery, and something like raspberry jam here. If you love the tobacco scent, try this one. You will not be disappointed.
