Solaris by Bynomads is a masterclass in refined freshness. This is not your typical citrus fragrance that leans sharp, acidic, or overly bright. Instead, it delivers an extremely elegant freshness—smooth, luminous, and perfectly controlled. From the very first spray, what stands out is how the citrus is handled. It never turns harsh or astringent. There’s no biting edge, no aggressive sparkle. Everything feels rounded, polished, and intentional. It’s the kind of citrus that feels expensive—effortless rather than attention-seeking. The real magic of Solaris lies in the aura it creates. It radiates a sense of understated elegance and well-being. It’s clean, but not simplistic; fresh, but with depth. You don’t wear it to impress loudly—you wear it to feel put together, confident, and quietly elevated. This is the kind of fragrance that fits seamlessly into daily life, especially in warmer weather or daytime settings. It’s versatile, easy to wear, and incredibly pleasant, yet never boring. There’s a sophistication here that sets it apart from the vast majority of fresh fragrances on the market. Solaris proves that freshness doesn’t have to be loud to be impactful. It’s elegant, smooth, and deeply enjoyable—a fragrance that wraps you in a subtle aura of confidence and well-being, without ever crossing the line into excess.

Solaris turned out to be a very different experience from what its name might suggest. Rather than a radiant, expansive, sun-drenched fragrance, I found a composition that is restrained, dry, and remarkably linear in its execution. The opening is dominated by a sharp, highly naturalistic lemon, supported by a discreet touch of elemi. Bergamot, while officially listed among the notes, barely makes its presence known. If it is there, it appears in a far less sweet and luminous form than one would typically expect, allowing the lemon’s tart, green character to remain firmly in the spotlight during the first few minutes. The transition into the heart is almost imperceptible. There is no clear shift in direction, but rather a continuation of the idea established at the opening. Gradually, a subtle touch of black pepper emerges, adding texture and depth to the composition. It is at this stage that Solaris reveals its most compelling facet: the combination of dry citrus notes and spice creates a remarkably realistic impression of freshly cut lemongrass—fresh, aromatic, and gently pungent. For me, this is the highlight of the fragrance’s entire evolution. The drydown simplifies the structure even further. The spotlight shifts to a clean, understated vetiver, accompanied by a delicate touch of frankincense that adds a resinous, contemplative nuance. Everything remains extremely close to the skin, with fairly restrained projection. In my experience, this phase arrived rather quickly—less than two hours after application—by which point the fragrance had already settled into a delicate veil of vetiver and incense. Solaris evokes a sense of nature in its rawest form, almost like walking through a garden of aromatic herbs after the rain. Its minimalist approach will undoubtedly appeal to those who appreciate green, dry, and introspective compositions. On the other hand, anyone expecting a vibrant, expansive, or long-lasting citrus fragrance may find the experience more fleeting than anticipated. This is a perfume that prioritizes atmosphere and naturalism over performance, delivering its finest moments through the brief yet beautiful illusion of freshly harvested lemongrass.

Super fresh and citrusy, very different from the others. Not my favorite, but I like how refreshing it is.
