Blanche

My interpretation of this fragrance has changed over time. To my nose, for a while, it was more musky and floral than I think it is now. I often compared it to Maison Margiela's Lazy Sunday Morning, but now I don't see much of a comparison. This fragrance is incredibly soapy and clean, with a pleasant background of florals, sweetness, and a tiny bit of musk. It's nearly identical to the Absolu, but the Absolu is just slightly more sharp and aldehydic, while this is faintly softer and sweeter. The differences are microscopic, but they exist. I really can't tell which I like more - they're so similar and they both have qualities that I love. If I had to choose, I'd probably go for the Absolu in terms of scent, however not in terms of value - but even so I'm not sure if I even prefer the smell of the Absolu. They're just SO similar. You can get the EDP for $200 on Jomashop and the Absolu for $330 from The Parfums if you're willing to wait over a month, otherwise your best bet is Byredo's website, where it's $400. Is the Absolu worth $130-$200 more? I don't think so. I haven't compared the longevity, so I guess if the Absolu performs a little better it may be worth the extra cash, but scent-wise they're far too similar for such a price difference to be warranted. Still, I had a similar dilemma with Baccarat Rouge's EDP and Extrait: I preferred the Extrait, but the EDP was much better value, so I bought the EDP, a few months later I regretted it, so I bought the Extrait as well. As such, it may be worthwhile for me to just go for the Absolu despite the minimal differences - but still, I can't fully tell if I even prefer it yet.

I LOVE this perfume so very much! omg I just literally pulled the trigger and finally bought this perfume earlier today after lusting over and testing this one for months. I'm like currently head over heels about Byredo Blanche! I've always thought the scent itself of this doesn't justify its hefty price tag. But I was so wrong! Some people may have said you're gonna waste your money buying this just because you'd just smell like laundry detergent. But don't really take that opinion too seriously. Because this perfume is more than just smelling like a clean freshly laundered clothes. There is something in this perfume that smells expensive compared to alot of the other regular soapy perfumes I've tried. This is one of the most beautiful aldehydic clean perfume I've ever smelled. Very clean, uplifting and confidence boosting. As a lover of clean, soapy and fresh scents. This is a huge and important addition to my perfume collection. Im a 1-2 spray kinda person, and I don't press the nozzle fully yet and still this lasts over 6-8 hours to me and it settles beautifully on my skin (it doesn't change into a whole different scent like some niche perfumes do) which im so pleased about. Currently smelling this perfume while writing this review and it just makes me happy and zen. I honestly can't wait to wear this perfume alot and possibly make it as a signature scent for me. Im so Inlove with this one! lol I haven't been this genuinely excited with a perfume in a while.

Considering this contains all notes I love, I'm not surprised I am low-key OBSESSED WITH THIS. It's a more floral, more typically-"feminine" version of MMM Replica's "Lazy Sunday Morning". I find it much more airy and fresher than "NR For Her". They might live on the same street, but not the same home. :) It's a gorgeous, airy, extremely pretty, fresh, floral scent. It definitely has those light sunshine-esque aldehydes. Not the more harsh, deeper kinds that you find in "Chanel No.5" & co. These aldehydes are gentle and friendly to all. It mingles with an extremely pretty and gentle blend of rose and peony. The violet is there, but more subdue. It does later calm down to include more sandalwood and a predominant musk. Again - the most gorgeous, pretty musk ever. This is a wrist-sniffer. I'm constantly smelling this beauty on my skin because I have no self-control. Its longevity and sillage could be better. There's no denial there. And those Byredo prices...*shudder*. BUT! ...I'm playing with the thought. I'm transitioning into *considering* buying this. It's just THAT PRETTY. I've used the word "pretty" four times now, so if pretty is what you're looking for in a scent... sniff this one. *** Kitty rating: 8.5/10. ***EDIT: 08-02-2021 - Okay, I bought a (slightly cheaper) bottle from online, and it is amaaaaaaazing. It's feminine, fresh, elegant, inoffensive, and - YES - PRETTY!***

Updated review: This fragrance is really nice. To me, it's not exactly a "laundry detergent" scent but more of a floral fragrance with soapy/aldehydic qualities mixed with musk. The longevity and sillage are relatively weak, but overall it's an incredibly pleasing fragrance. However, to my nose, this is 90% similar (at least) to Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Margiela. This isn't necessarily an issue - they're both wonderful fragrances. The reason I mention this is the fact that Blanche is $186 on Jomashop for 100ml, while Lazy Sunday Morning is $89 for the same size or $68 on AuraFragrance, but IDK if they're legit). I can't even tell which of the two I prefer, so I'm just getting a bottle of LSM. Blanche is a bit cleaner and soapier, with the florals, musk, and sweetness being toned down a touch. Lazy Sunday Morning is a bit more potent and, if oversprayed, sickly sweet. With all this said, I think Blanche is worth buying if you enjoy it. $186 for 100ml is hardly a bad deal at all.

Blanche is my sister's signature spring and summer scent. Its funny to read all the negative comments because I personally think its such a beautiful perfume. Firstly, I can smell it on my sister for hours. And as soon as she comes, the whole room/area would fill up with Blanche. It is a very wearable scent, very pleasant. It is crisp and clean. There is something very innocent and simple about it too. If I were to describe the scent using the notes I would agree that the soft aldehyde and very soft white musk is the most dominant with a mixture of soft florals throughout. It somehow also reminds me of baby scents, like the Switzal or Johnson&Johnson baby soaps. Perhaps this is why I also consider it a very comforting and soft scent. It gives a feeling of happiness. I know perhaps for some people it is not worth it as Byredo is such an upscale brand, but I think the scent is absolutely gorgeous.

One of my all-time favourite fragrances. I know many people describe it as too laundry-like, but to me it simply gives a soft, clean feeling that never feels harsh on the nose. It reminds me more of a gentle, soapy kind of cleanliness rather than laundry detergent. I’ve tried many fragrances in this ‘clean’ category, but Blanche feels very different and far more beautiful than the others. Many clean scents rely on a sharp lemon note that can feel quite piercing, but Blanche doesn’t use that kind of citrus at all. It gives me the feeling of staying in a very luxurious hotel — truly a masterpiece.

Fresh, soapy, slightly floral. Legit just a white bar of soap. Feels like you've washed yourself with said bar, and can still smell it when you put on some clean clothes. Reminds me of Indian soap a little, but I can't specify a specific one. It lasts on clothes for a long time (9 or more hours for me) but it becomes very intimate after the first 1-2. You really have to lean in to smell it. Feels like something a woman who has her life together would wear, very inoffensive and not in your face, goes with almost any outfit you have because it smells like you've just showered. Love LOVE LOVE it

I AAADDDOORREEEEEEE this scent so much but its not worth the price tag to me even if it makes me die when smelling it but in my opinion no fragrance worth more than 660 Riyals to me { 176 US dollar } The cleanest soapy ultra creamy musk jasmine and peony type of scent this waaay more than gorgeous but again not worth the price tag even the projection is bad Although i have toy 2 moschino and its just one of the best clean scents i’ve tried in my life but is it similar to blanche ? Guys no its not not even close The scent 9,2/10 The price tag 1/10 The projection 5/10

Blanche smells like freshly washed cotton warmed by sunlight. It opens crisp but quickly melts into soft white musk and delicate florals. It feels intimate and close to the skin, like the scent of clean skin after a shower. Blanche Absolute takes that same purity and adds depth. It is creamier, slightly warmer, and more enveloping. The softness lingers longer and feels a little more sensual without losing the clean signature. Both feel timeless, understated, and quietly luxurious. They do not try to impress. They simply make you feel polished and serene.

I love Byredo Blanche regardless of what anyone else has to say. Does she smell a little bit like Dawn dish soap? Yes. Occasionally like candle wax? Also yes. But above that, Blanche is the most gorgeous soapy smell my nostrils have ever invited in. It’s chic and feels very clean and luxurious, and makes me feel like I’m a put together baddie who keeps fresh roses in my kitchen and never misses a shower. It’s Definitely sterile, clean, and sharp, but beautifully blended and complex in a way I feel like she doesn’t get NEARLY enough credit for.

idk what u guys mean by "laundry detergent" because when i first smelled this it came across as bin juice/kombucha and i was horrified i'd tested it on my skin. HOWEVER, later in the day i caught another whiff and was in awe. the dry down on this was stunniiiiiiiing and smooth and subtly sweet . very polarising for the people i showed but I LOVE. weirdly, one of my favourite scents of all time (and the initial spray isn't actually bad when i tried it again the second time - i think it was just my first time smelling anything aldehydic).

Omg the best luxury, clean perfume! It is equal parts floral, musk and clean. As someone who isn't too impressed by Byredo bc of the price range and the weak staying power, this absolutely exceeded my expectations. It is such a balanced perfume that makes you feel like that 'clean girl' aesthetic. I'd say compared to other Byredo fragrances, this lasts longer, usually they last about 3 hours maximum; but this lasted over 5 hours. I understand the hype and would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to smell clean/soapy.

If you have MFK 724, Lattafa Breeze, Moschino Toy 2, or Le Labo Aldehyde 44 you don’t really need this. But if you’re an aldehyde/clean fresh laundry scent addict like me, definitely get this! I have all of the above mentioned, plus this one! If you’re looking for this vibe on a budget, definitely get Toy 2 and/or Breeze. My god this smells like clothes fresh out the dryer! Considering this is a laundry scent and we wash our clothes all seasons, it’s weird that anyone would not consider this an all seasons scent.

NO ONE talk to me 😩✊️. How did they manage to make a scent that feels exactly like a crisp silent morning? A perfectly made bed. A soft cotton shirt. Skin scent? Nah, blood scent. I need this into an IV. Drama aside, it's simply perfect. I have nothing to complain about except its performance, which is disappointing. Wish it would last longer. 🥲 The drydown is beautiful and clean. Light coming in through the windows. The world hasn't woken up yet. And you're there, in the midst of it.

to me it smells more like shampoo/conditioner than fresh laundry or detergent (which to my nose is actually the case of fleur de peau). it's pleasant and somewhat relaxing (as it makes you feel fresh off a good shower) but not worth the price imho. edited a month after: this has become one of my favorite scents lol i've been wearing it every night to bed. it's great for layering with other fragrances too, esp with those overly powdery ones that could benefit from a little pick me up.

I'm taking a walk on a sunny 65 degree day, someone is doing laundry. It smells like crisp clean laundry. I love this. I use a non fragranced laundry detergent due to my kiddo having eczema, so my laundry doesn't smell like anything. And I love smelling other peoples laundry when going on a walk. If I ever find it for a great price I might pick it up. If you use scented laundry detergent or softener then you do not need this.

Byredo Blanche is a beautiful, comforting scent, just like freshly laundered sheets or clothes that have just come out of the wash and smell crisp, clean and oh so soothing. That said... for the highly expensive price tag, I was hoping for a little more “luxury minimalism” and a little less “Lady Lenor on aisle three.” Its gorgeous, it's clean, its sparkly but it should really be a popular body spray sold in Superdrug.

An open concept office before the workday starts. Bright light and a crisp white button down, so clean it’s bordering on sterile. I went through 3 samples of this before having to admit that, yes, apparently I do want to smell like fancy laundry. This feels like being in a small town rom-com, except I’m the workaholic girlfriend back in the city. I may get dumped by the end of the movie, but at least I look amazing.

I think I found little sister of zarkoperfume the muse AND she isn't toxic !!!!! it smells like fresh linen. like getting out of the shower. like getting all your skincare routine. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 I think we all need this type of fragrance - 'clean'. I'm still trying to find the best one and this one deserves a chance 🤍 (AND THIS SMELLS LIKE ARIANA'S SONG no tears left to cry I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.)

This is the quintesential "clean sheets fresh out the dryer" smell! I cant believe theres a single bad review for this! As a man, i love wearing this scent with a solid light colored shirt. It an immidiate aura boost! Those who come within 2 feet of your scent bubble with definitely take notice of the cleanliness of this smell!

it’s definitely one of my favorites for the warm weather. i went through two ten ml decants and i am mentally preparing to pull the plug on FB. yes, i smell like i just crawled out of the washing machine and i think its beautiful. nothing scratches the same itch for me and i tried most popular “clean” scents

This smells like mother Teresa, kindness, patience, benevolence, alturism and my grandmother. As a pretty guarded and distrustful person, this fragrance profile is my weakness, because I will automatically assume that anyone who smells like this is pure of heart and can be trusted with my life.

I'm a not big fan of clean fragrances, but this one finally grab my attention. I know that this fragrance is one of bestselling from Byredo, but it doesn't stop me from wearing it almost daily. Fabulous creation for those who love simplicity and elegance

Love this as an everyday, all season fragrance. It is definitely soapy and powdery and aldehydic, but it is a lovely, feminine, grown up scent. If soapy, powder are not your thing, dont bother. I personally give this 9/10 for all of above reasons.

Sample size is just enough for me. Beautiful clean soapy aldehydes. Feels like biting into a bar of soap or licking detergent in the best way possible lol. Strong but not overwhelming. Lasts a long time under the shirt, at least six hours

My favorite “freshly washed laundry” scent out of everything I’ve tried. It just has something so bright and fresh to it, it makes me happy. Poor longevity though, unfortunately, like most Byredo scents..

A very clean scent that resembles freshly washed clothes and cotton—perfect for daily, year-round wear. On days when you don’t want to smell anything strong, I highly recommend it; it’s wonderful.

The first time I smelled this I just thought, nope. Now I’m obsessed. It’s so beautiful on, the dry down is gorgeous, so feminine and lovely. It doesn’t smell soapy on me, just floral and warm.

it smells like you are pouring fabric softener to your laundry but in a good way . smells so clean and refreshing .it is a bit expencive but i will be investing in this one

It smells like white cotton clothes that have been washed with a low-quality, sharp-smelling laundry detergent and exposed to too much detergent, then left to dry slowly in mild, sunny weather; as they dry, the detergent scent spreads into the air. The fragrance is crisp, clean, heavily aldehydic, and partially floral, with a sharp sense of cleanliness. Despite this, it doesn’t feel suffocating to me; instead, it creates a calm, safe atmosphere. I don’t think it would bother anyone, but at close range it gives the impression of “a very clean person whose clothes have just been washed.” It works perfectly for the office, daytime wear, white shirts, light colors, and a minimal style. It gives a “clean girl” vibe, especially for those who love wearing white. That said, it feels somewhat ordinary and one-dimensional. Considering its price, it sets an expectation for a more complex and layered composition, but in my opinion, it falls short of that expectation. The longevity and projection are not satisfying to me.

Blanche is often celebrated as THE clean girl scent so I was excited to try it, but after sampling it...maybe I'm just not as 'clean girl' as I thought I was. This, to my nose, is a little TOO photorealistic soapy. Its not laundry-fresh clean to me, its doctor or dentists office clean. It doesn't smell like a perfume, it smells like you just washed your hands. That being said, I see it having its uses, i just think its a more challenging wear because its not a 'perfumey' scent and as a perfume hobbyist, I like smelling like perfume. I see this being worn by an orthodontist, or one of those really bougie travel nurses. Someone who works in an environment where perfume isn't encouraged. Me personally, I only see myself reaching for this for interviews or work conferences or something.

I like Blanche. It reminds me of freshly cleaned laundry. I’m imagining crisp white hotel sheets. I’m not a huge fan of laundry soap scents, but this is nice. It’s not giving me a headache, and I find it sophisticated. I can actually pick up on certain floral notes, the rose, peony and African orange flower more prominently, and then the slightly powdery violet in the background. The sandalwood and other woody notes balance this out from being a screechy headache. I recommend wearing this if you want to feel fresh and clean, but I do understand if laundry soap is not your forte! It’s suitable for day and night and any season really, because smelling fresh and clean can be a year round thing.

I definitely agree with the dove soap comparisons, but I'm getting more peony and rose (and some tulip?), but it's not bad at all. I think it just depends on how soapy you're willing to work with when it comes to what you want to wear. Personally I don't mind it here as the soapiness doesn't smell synthetic/cheap. It's much richer and creamier This is a gentle and innocent scent. It's the type of fragrance you'd wear after having a bubble bath I do think it's overpriced, but I like it anyway

He smells like that guy, who wears white linen shirts and looose brown trousers. He's very friendly. He has a dog named cherry or jooey, something like that. He's clean at home, minimalist dude who does his laundry by himself with a certain laundry brand cuz he likes smelling like fresh sheets. The only thing's at his own home is like a single green plant he tries not to neglect lmao. He smells fresh even after his gym session or tennis session.

When you want everyone to notice your crisp, impeccably clean white shirt, this is the fragrance to wear. I wouldn’t choose it for bedtime as it’s not a cosy scent. Instead, it’s perfect for accentuating a polished, white look. Even if someone spotted a tiny mark on your shirt, they’d doubt their own eyes, because your scent is assuring pure white (after all, blanche means white in French). Not even a shadow in sight. Slightly feminine-leaning.

Blanche smells like Faultless Starch Premium Spray with a touch of florals, yet I like it. The aldehydes in the opening are a bit strong, but the dry down is heavenly! It last all day for me. I wasn’t necessarily into “clean” scents before. So, I was surprised this fragrance won me over. I have a sample and would never pay full price though.
