Casablanca Lily 2019

Casablanca Lily by Byredo definitely smells similar to the Givenchy classic Amarige, but to me it is different enough to warrant a purchase of this fragrance as well (like I did.) This is a honeyed and fruit tinged white floral fragrance with a small hint of spice and wood in the base. The gardenia and tuberose are what I get the most of, followed by the sweet honey and the spicy carnation. Unlike Amarige though, this perfume doesn't have the black locust, mimosa, berries or ylang ylang notes, which is mainly what sets these two apart. They both share the plum though, but it is more intense here. Casablanca Lily is somehow more moody and yet lighter at the same time, which is unusual to me. Sillage is half an arm's length on me and this fragrance has a medium longevity of 3 hours on my skin. This fragrance is slightly pricy for what you get, but I don't think of it as daylight roberry either. I'd give the price a 6/10 for what you are getting. Altogether though, I'd give Casablanca Lily by Byredo an 8.5/10. It would have been a 9 if it actually smelt like lilies. I couldn't smell any lily in this fragrance unfortunately. Maybe its name should be changed to "Tubéreuse Miel?"

I tried this out in Byredo's Soho store this past summer. My main reasoning for this was because Ethel Cain had sung its praises. (She said that both Casablanca Lily and La Tulipe smelled like beautiful women who are gently kissing your neck) So of course I had to find out. Boy oh boy. One spritz of this had me pacing around the store for 30 minutes because I *really* wanted this, but the price tag was absolutely nuts. This perfume is something I would never usually go for, white florals, warm, but it WORKS. The honey and plum keep this sweet and feminine, balancing the tuberose and gardenia. This is alluring for sure, and most definitely sophisticated. I ended up biting the bullet and buying it (hey, at least I got a free candle amirite). This is as close to a signature fragrance as I've ever gotten other than Soft by Poesie- but that lives in a different world than this. This is soft, sweet, feminine, sensual. I just feel so conflicted whenever I spray this because of how much it costs. Moderate sillage, pretty decent longevity (10 hours), and doesn't turn into something I don't like after a while. Love.

Like someone below said, this makes you feel like beautiful woman. Just some natural, warm, welcoming, cozy gardenia/tuberose and plum cocooned by honey and soft wood and blended to perfection. Not over-sweetened, not harsh, not heavy or cloying, and certainly without the 'crayon' accord that sometimes white flower perfume, even real flowers natural like tuberose, frangipani or jasmine, give which I am so sensitive to. When I smell it, I imagine a woman who is confident, well-read, introverted but naturally seductive, smart, adaptive but careful, funny but thoughtful, and has been hit by life but remains strong. Or at least that's who I aspire myself to become. The only thing I wish could be better is longetivity, as I cannot smell it on my skin after around 5 hours. However on clothes and hairs they remain much longer and I still smell them on my hair the next morning. It is my scent for special occasions as I bought it for my graduation. I told myself to only wear it on special days like graduation, anniversaries or when I achieve something, so it will forever remind me of my life's special events.

I find it completely nonsense that some people are destroying the reputation of this perfume by stating that it does not last. Would anybody with a brain between their ears expect poor performance (30 min) from an established niche house with such a pricetag? I'll begin first with the scent... I love this scent very much and I find it magical. When it comes to quality materials and the quality of blending, this perfume is at the highest level possible. I would even say that the quality is much better than many Rojas I've tested. With other words, this is ultra luxurious. With such a note-combination you would expect a beast-mode performance. WHICH INDEED IS THE CASE. Every time at the counter I hesitate to buy it because of the performance rating on fragrantica. Though every time I test on skin, and it lasts me at least 12 h+. I would even think that the projection and performance are annoyingly strong. However, I would strongly criticize the pricing. It is indeed crazy expensive. Please, stop trashing on perfumes that you haven't tested. It's causing our community a great deal of dammage.

Absolutely stunning fragrance. It’s such a beautiful floral with that little plum fruitiness. It’s deep and intriguing enough to wear in the cold months, but it also will be just as lovely in the warm months. I truly could see myself wearing this year-round and may become my new signature. I do however wish the price were a bit lower as I do think it’s very over priced. If it were 100ml, I’d find it much more fair. That said, I will still always keep it in my collection because it is just that stunning. I’ve seen some compare it to Do Son or Lys 41, but I’d have to disagree. The plum note very much sets it aside from the pure tuberose floral both of those are. I could maybe see a little comparison with Do Son for its fresh and softer take on tuberose, but still not the same at all beyond that. Lys 41 is very different and would more closely align with the sharp and powerful tuberose in Carnal Flower. There is no comparison I can find to Casablanca Lily with that one beyond the fact tuberose is a note. Casablanca Lily is definitely worth a try!

I told the sales lady that I wanted to buy a fragrance that smelled like "a beautiful woman"--not cute, not pretty, but beautiful. And I told her that I hate white florals (wfs). Nonetheless, she boldly suggested Casablanca Lily. I'm glad she did because while this gives traditional white flower in the opening, I don't find it old fashioned, cloying, or offensive like I find most wfs. She's beautiful, well put together, classy, and soft. She isn't everlasting, which is another plus as a person who's fragrance sensitive. She arrives, then leaves gracefully before she wears out her welcome. As an aside, one of my biggest challenges with Byredo is how they do their powder accords. When their fragrances (with powder) hit my skin, they turn into powder bombs that completely overtake the other notes. So, I love that they didn't include a powder accord in this. It is exactly what the saleslady said she'd be: the perfect "beautiful woman" white floral for those who don't like wfs.

Wow is this one of the most decadent, incredible scents I’ve ever smelt! My absolute idol Hayden Anhedonia recommended her and I knew it was it when I blind smelled it in a sample rotation. I fell head over heels! I scoured high and low to find the old formulation and luckily I was successful finding it for a very good price! Many people find the performance to be weak, but personally Casablanca Lily works very well with my skin, and she lasts pretty much all day, softening significantly by the end but my partner can still smell it when I walk by. It’s a velvet concoction of delicate night blooming white florals, juicy plum (but never syrupy) and golden honey. It’s so sensual and romantic, if I smelled this on another woman I’d be seduced lol! It smells like the most effortlessly beautiful woman in the world. This is THE perfume I wear on dates. I will always have her in my collection.

As a Florist I am familiar with both Lily and Gardenia scent. And I am glad I found this gem. As both blossoms have a very natural intoxicating and sometimes nausea inducing profile I was hoping to get something softer for every day use. Casablanca Lily is just that. It starts floral fruity, where you immediately get a Lily note, later paired with almost solar Gardenia accord. Tuberose, known to be overpowering, has a pleasant supporting role that lifts up the entire heart of this perfume. In my previous work as a florist, carnation can be a bit spicy, but here it is waay back in the background, almost undetectable. After a few hours, the base shows up with a light - not cloying at - honey not paired with a woodsy sensation. Delectable, yet not gourmand. Such a pretty every day scent that makes me feel fresh, put together and lifts my spirit. The price is atrocious though. 😉

I realized today that I haven’t made a review for this even though it’s one of my fav fragrances. I’ve had it in my collection for a little over half a year now and it’s got a nice dent in it because I wear it so much but I like it best in spring/summer/fall vs winter. It shines best imo with some warmth. It’s also become one of my most complimented scents. I’ve been asked about it many times. There’s something seductive about it but also clean and chic. It smells luxurious and like you’re that girl ;) I don’t find it juvenile nor do I find it too mature. It’s an easy wear for me, can be dressed up or down and for a Byredo, I get a lot of performance out of this which honestly is surprising to me. It radiates very well off my skin and even better off clothes.

Oh my, a beautiful scent this is! I bought this immediately after testing it at the stores and found out it was being discontinued in my country. - found out they just renewed the bottle so I didn't need to panic 🫠 Anyway now I can just spray away as it became one of my favorites! The scent is really like the perfect put together lady. Very flowery, a little soapy, slightly honeyed. It puts a smile on my face when I catch breezes of it on me during days I put it on. It makes me feel nostalgic, not that it reminds me of an older perfume, but it makes me picture a dreamy girl on a sunny flowerfilled porch from a nostalgic 90s romcom movie. Like how it smells, performance isn't a powerhouse but lasts enough decent hours for a special outing. Just love love.

Stunning. A beautiful, feminine perfume with classic white floral notes, but a deeper, almost molasses like honey note that's not overly sweet, but just hints at being there. There's a hint of the plum that becomes stronger as it dries down, but not over bearingly so. The notes in this perfume blend like a dream. No harsh components, it's so smooth. It's non offensive and sexy, it smells lux and expensive. It is way too expensive, but i would repurchase this again. Definately staying in my top 5 perfumes. I'm loving it. My collection is around 100 perfumes and this is one of the best by far. Pity it doesn't come in smaller bottles and travel size though, especially at these prices. Every woman should beable to try this scent.

I'm reminded when someone said this is similar to Paradoxe. I think I understand what they mean as it's also white florals + honey. This is not uncommon. However I think this one is way more jammier, dirtier, and headier. What makes me drawn to this one, aside from the fact that it's super beastly on my skin and clothes, is the animalic quality in it that makes it rather on the more unique side of this kind of profile. I like how this is my most mass pleasing on my wardrobe but on my nose it's not legible as so. The 2025 one I don't like at all as it didn't have the sweet plummy jammy quality and on my skin it's rather just an okay white floral scent and it doesn't last as long - if not long at all - on me.

This was a blind buy for me sometime last year, anticipating that it would be nice. What I did not anticipate was how absolutely magnificent this scent it is, exuding sophistication, confidence and inherited wealth. I know that many of the reviews indicate a lack of lily, and I may not be the best judge of what a lily fragrance ought to smell like. What I can say is that my nose found Casablanca Lily to be reminiscent of the rich and beautiful blend of white florals + gentle powdery & warm notes that I also pick up from LILY by ROJA, JASMIN ROUGE by TF and vintage formula POISON by CD. Simply put, Casablanca Lily is a magical and sultry concoction that I will never, ever, ever tire from. ✨

This fragrance caught my attention as the notes seemed interesting, and perhaps different from other white floral scents. The opening is very unpleasant to my nose, mostly because of the honey and tuberose combination. The honey is too strong, yet not sweet, but rather tangy and harsh. The tuberose is, at first, too leathery, almost flesh-like. The true beauty of this fragrance comes forth during the dry down. It is beautiful, sensual, warm, and inviting. Unfortunately, the sillage is weak, barely detectable. It’s such a shame, as with a powerful projection, it would have been a warm and unusual white floral scent. At this concentration, it is not worth the money.

Hmm. I wonder where people are smelling this one. Some mention that the white floral is harsh or detergent like. Where are they getting their samples? I once ordered from a decant website and got fakes. So watch out. I smelled Casablanca Lily in Saks and tried it on my skin. It was pure perfection. It's a very realistic, delicate white floral with a honey base. The white floral is not cloying, powdery or detergent like at all. It's soft, as if you're smelling a dewy gardenia. It's perfectly blended with a deep honey base that isn't sweet either. Very classic and feminine. Smell: 10 out of 10 Longevity: 7 out of 10 For reference, I'm female.

I absolutely adore this scent. The blend of white florals and honey gives it a subtle sweetness, but not in a gourmand way. I pick up mostly gardenia and honey, with the other notes taking a backseat. It’s a fairly linear fragrance, and it reminds me of another fragrance, though I can’t quite place it. My only complaint is its poor longevity—it fades quickly on me, requiring reapplication every two hours. As much as I’d love to add it to my collection, the high price and lack of staying power make it a pass for me. However, I’d highly recommend it to gardenia lovers. Just be sure to test a decant first to see how it wears on your skin.

I first smelled Casablanca Lily in a Salzburg parfumerie on a chilly day in late August 2021. It stuck with me and I regretted not buying it then. Now that I have it, I can share a bit more. This is a favourite of mine, really beuatiful and feminine. Classic, yet not mainstream. A tad heavy in the beginning, not too sweet. It doesn't smell like laundry detergent, at least not to me and people around me. As for longevity - it really lasts forever and the reviews hereinunder puzzle me! It stays it on my skin and hair for more than 20 hours. Sillage is moderate. I guess it's a bit overpriced, however, I'd probably buy it again.

Wow I am blown away! I am a white floral lover and have smelled white florals before where the gardenia was honestly too sharp, but the honey in this scent take that white floral edge off and makes it so smooth. I feel immediately felt fancy and yet transported to the song “Copacabana” for some reason. It’a elegant yet fun and flirty. I didn’t know what to expect from this scent except florals but it did an amazing job. However, I didn’t really smell lilies in this scent so if that’s the specific note you are looking for I personally didn’t smell it. Still give this scent a try first before purchasing a whole bottle!

This perfume reminded me of an elegant and innocent-looking woman living in a beautiful house in the countryside, enjoying a picnic by the lake in her white dress, reading her book. It felt like an elegant yet bold perfume that Keira Knightley would wear. It opens with sweet plum, is further sweetened with honey, and then flowers are added – a wonderful fragrance. I practically fell in love with it throughout my decant. It definitely suits spring and summer evenings. Moreover, its performance is quite successful. I might consider buying the full-size version.

Casablanca Lily has sophisticated elegance that makes you feel classy. I can smell a slightly green and honeyed white floral, sort of like tea leaves. It smells clean, sweet and shampooey. On some days, it's slightly bitter but then there is a sweetness that follows shortly afterwards. I find it addicting and alluring but it escapes from me as I can't smell it on myself however I have received a lot of compliments while wearing it. I can smell a similarity to Givenchy Amariage however I find Casablanca Lily to be smoother and sweeter.

It opened with a wonderful floral scent. With gardenia, which I adore. Tuberose is also coming. I can definitely say that it is a wonderful scent. A wonderful scent for day or night, summer or spring. I can also smell the carnation from the back, but the tuberose tuberose is more dominant. I smell fruity and cheerful. And it feels good. I think it's more suitable for middle age. I saw from the scent pyramid that it would turn into honey and rosewood in the base note. A floral and not too assertive perfume, but it also shows itself.

I love Casablanca Lily. On my nose, it smells mostly tuberose and honey. It's very airy and delicate. Very clean and rather sensual at the same time. I feel as though this is the kind of perfume you'd wear to bed or for an intimate date. Don't expect the whole room to notice the scent— its sillage is moderate but lean towards the intimate side. You can still smell them on yourself, and perhaps others in closer proximity. I think this fragrance embodies quiet luxury— it doesn't scream on your face. It's very classy indeed.

I was shopping for other Byredo scents when the sales associate had me try Casablanca Lily. I was expecting a lily scent, but it's much more tuberose and gardenia with a slightly tart fruitiness and honey base. I loved it so much that I bought the bottle on the spot. While I cherish it and wear it regularly, I don't think I'll repurchase it once it's gone because it is so expensive for the small size. If I find it cheaper elsewhere, I might replace my bottle. If you can get a decant or sample, try it for yourself.

It is very light and easy wearing. My bf said it smells like kinda old lady lol. I don’t agree but I think it smells very classic in some ways. Though it is in no ways a heavy/deep/thick fragrance, there’s something airy and transparent about it. Like honeywater. Also the opening has a bit of a hairspray reminiscent smell. It smells a lot like honeysuckle. The tuberose here is not bubble gummy at all. I find this fragrance very fresh actually and associate it with very easy going refreshing feeling.

Blindbought this a couple of years ago, I liked it well enough but was a bit disappointed with the sillage. However I've recently come to absolutely love this fragrance, it's soft, feminine and really longlasting. I now appreciate it's lighter sillage, a fragrance doesn't have to be beast mode for me to enjoy it, as long as it creates a scent bubble around me I'm happy. I wear perfume for myself after all. It's a bit overpriced but I think it's such a lovely scent that it's worth it.

Sprayed this on myself in the Istanbul airport and wow. This is so gorgeous! I feel like this perfume smells like where I am in my life right now. Heading into my thirties but still feel young and fun - it’s got hot mom / business exec vibes. It’s sweet in a sour candy kind of way to me and love the gardenia in here- GORG!! Super good price at the airport I’m kicking myself for not grabbing it !!! But I wanna know about the longevity first since it’s Byredo...

Golden honey, dark plum, dewy gardenia anchored with a very soft woody base - this is a beautiful fragrance. And yes, it does make me feel like Monica Bellucci when I put it on - beautiful, exotic and mysterious! I read all the reviews and ordered a sample and almost didn’t want it to be so lovely because of the price (really Byredo?) but I think I’m just going to have to take out a second mortgage and buy a bottle and only use it on special occasions.

I just did a review of this on my Youtube "Rotten Rebel." I think this is a beautiful floral focused perfume where the floral mix is not too sharp nor too heavy thanks to the slightly sweet side of it. The sweetness is not intense in any way, and it makes the whole scent more round, appealing and lends it a sexy feeling. I'm sensitive to overly floral perfumes but this one balances right on the edge and I think it's a FAB perfume.

This fragrance is just it for me! It’s the kind of smell I just can’t pull away from. It has such a homey, romantic, and classy smell to it, like I’m sitting around in a well kept, old victorian home, visiting with beautiful elderly women. I wish it would last forever!! It’s extremely pricey, just a small spray bottle sample was $30. It’d cost me an arm and a leg to get a full bottle, but to me it would be worth it... eventually.

If you read the description you'd imagine something very sweet. It's not! And if you think Extrait de Parfum is always intense. This one is not. To me it's a gorgeous and very realistic lily, so well composed and balanced (vs Rouge Malachine with Tuberose overdose). Now this is a scent that is just a class act. This is honey and plum done exceptionally well. A perfect white floral for any occasion. I was just blown away by how pretty this is. My mother and I could not stop sniffing our arms as we walked out of the shop. Though I do not get much lily, the gardenia here is remarkably done. A true day to night all year round signature scent.

I purchased this perfume at the Byredo store and really love the floral that eventually settles into the honey notes on my skin. I wished it lasted longer on me - I have to say probably for about 3-4hrs. It is a beautiful scent for winter that makes me feel feminine and romantic - it brings a warmth and makes being out in the cold enjoyable! Love this scent! Highly recommend!

Got a decant for this about two years ago so I can’t fully describe the smell, but I remember being completely blown away by how good it was. It’s floral but not in a headache inducing way, more in like an opulent sense. I remember the honey in this adding a very distinct smell to it, elevating the scent profile. If it wasn’t for the price, it’d get this in a heartbeat.

First of all I’m a guy and sometimes I like to smell floral scents. This! Is from another world... It’s a BEAUTY. It does lean more feminine but I don’t mind... I would definitely wear it. I actually think this scent on a man would add ambiguity to his character. I’m in love with this scent ♥️ I haven’t had this feeling about a fragrance in such long time.

VERYYYY sexy. Bought it in Dubai airport when I was feeling like a baddie. It's smells like a classical beauty- soapy, floral, oily, but also sensual and woody. It kind of smells like when you're oiling your hair with a really great smelling indian oil, but theres a fire crackling in the back and you're wearing a soft sophisticated floral perfume.

I avoided buying this for the longest time because the price was eye watering, I thought I could scratch the itch by trying some other white florals but I cant. It feels like smelling a white flower with honey flowing from it, without any cloying sweetness. I think this scent isn’t for everyone, but when I spray it on my skin, I can’t stop smelling it. I gifted this fragrance to myself for my birthday two years ago, and it’s been special to me ever since.

I love this ! Opens up very fresh with a blast of white florals. As it dries down, it gets sweeter. It's a very nice sweety floral. Performance is pretty good on my skin, but it could definitely be better for the price. It's unisex leaning feminine, but I'd wear this as a guy.

This fragrance is so gorgeous! Floral, white florals drenched in honey but the wood grounds it. It’s sweet, it’s sensual, it’s seductive, I’m in love with this scent and it lasts all day on my skin. I get a lot of compliments! Definitely a head turner.

This is a wonderful sticky white floral. Not too sweet. Easily my favorite from Byredo as I don't get that intense undertone many of their fragrances have. In no universe is it worth the outrageous price tag.

A beautiful, luxurious, hyper feminine scent, a nice pick me up in winter time and a real stunner in spring and summer. Very expensive, but does last a long time. I usually do 2-3 sprays and it lasts all day.

This is absolutely lovely...my first and probably only love in floral perfumes. As forbidding as the price tag was, I ended up splashing out for a full bottle. It's that good.

I love it. Very realistic floral scent without excessive sweetness. On my skin lasts long. Only downside is the price, otherwise would make it my daily.
