Deep Viola

Very interesting modern Floriental scent from this eclectic avant garde house. The perfume opens with aromatic bursts of angelica, saffron and bergamot. The heart is mostly a gentle violet surrounded by hints of iris and leather. The perfume settles on a subtle powdery bed of vanilla and olibanum with slight agarwood. The unisex perfume has moderate sillage and projection and good longevity. A nice one to wear during colder months if you want to smell a bit mysterious but cool. Enjoy!

It’s a nice violet leather combo. I get a lot of what I’m assuming is angelica in the opening, green and fresh. It’s very powdery and smells like a lush store in the same way as Bottega Veneta does to me. The freshness from the angelica makes me think it could be suitable year round, if like me you insist on wearing more typically cold weather notes in the summer. I only get the olibanum and vanilla after a few hours, by which point it’s almost disappeared altogether and I have to put my nose to my skin to smell anything. I’m a bit confused by the fresh green opening turning into the warm resinous dry down, and I sort of feel like they should’ve chosen one route or the other, but I am definitely not a perfume expert. IMO there are better violet-leather combos such as TF Ombré Leather Parfum, Armani Cuir Amethyste, Armani Cuir Zerzura etc

A moody, woody violet bouquet wrapped in leather. I'm sampling this next to another very leathery Byredo scent, Sellier, which is a smooth, silky smokey leather, in contrast to this which is a verdant, scratchy smokey green version of leather. I like both a lot - I think I just really like the way Byredo does these leather-forward scents. I like the full woody smokiness of this, and I think this would do well layered with other leather scents or adding woodiness to sweet florals. Doesn't stand alone well enough to be full bottle worthy for me.

Interesting composition. I get lots of violet and greenery of angelica in the opening. It's a powdery and serious fragrance. I mean business meeting, presenting to the public at some convention. Leather and iris take over after 2 hours so if you love your powdery iris, this specimen is pretty good to investigate. Opening is unisex, after 4-5h starts to lean more masculine. No detectable oud in here, was a bit disappointed about that. Season fall-winter. Longevity 6-8hours, projection is very good for half that time.

This is a deep green leathery scent. The dark leather practically drowns out most other notes. I needed four sprays to find the violet and iris notes, but four sprays is way too much for normal usage as most people around me found the scent to be pungent.
