Flowerhead

Flowerhead opens with the kind of green you can almost feel. Lush and new, like dewdrops on a freshly sprouted shoot, it reaches towards the sky with that amazingly crisp zest of life. It’s verdant, bright, almost innocent, like the fragrance itself is taking its first inhale of morning . But there’s more, there is. The fruits are there, teasing with their ripeness but never overpowering. A cool, citrusy brightness lingers in the air. Oh, how perfectly done. Just as you settle into the freshness, jasmine pure and untainted, appears. Not the sharp, indolic variety that can overwhelm and smother, but a soft, tender blossom, coaxed from the gentle folds of nature itself. Light and ethereal rose drifts in, airy and persistent, with tuberose barely audible behind it, like a secret shared between petals. And. Almost imperceptible but unmistakable, you get this a trace of salty skin, like a soft wave licking the shoreline just out of reach. It’s not loud or intrusive, but it’s there, the warm skin of someone you love lingering faintly on the breeze. This is a scent that wraps you in soft, living things. The green, the floral, a touch of something deeper, something human. The most wonderfully orchestrated masterpiece of gentle contrasts, airy spring and a lived-in tenderness. Spring sans the nectar. Quiet, delicate, yet unmistakably full. Walk with it down a sunlit path: you're sure to feel both new and timeless.

A beautiful and modern white flower bouquet, the tuberose is so dominated which is my weakness. I love how tuberose can bring the sensuality out of your subconsciousness. Tuberose has always the main factor of elegance yet lustful in secret manner. The opening is so pretty in white, you stand as Venus from inside the tuberose pistil slowly blooming under the sun at the enchanted forest, where a sudden soft rain washes over for fresher, you can also feel the dewdrops on this tuberose romantically. It is how beautiful to me! The longevity is moderate as well as the projection. Perfume is quite personal to me so I would not bother if others can detect it or else (also nice to be noticed too). For those who are reluctant in your choice (of any perfume), you just go for what you like no matter of others are bashful. It is their opinions, which makes perfume is more special. It can evaporate others more confident, others cannot work itself. Try and you might love it or not, what the harm you possibly get? Longevity: 3/5 Projection: 3/5 Uniqueness: 4/5

Oh! How beautiful is this perfume? I feel like I'm wearing a wreath of flowers in my hair, picked from a fresh dewy garden. These flowers are so cool and fresh. The combination of sparkling tuberose, luminous sweet jasmine, green velvety roses, tart lingonberry (according to the brand's website, not cranberry which is quite similar anyway) and green, watery, celery-like bitter angelica create something of a lily accord that is so much like the opening of Cartier's Baiser Vole. This is truly what I wanted Baiser Vole to be as that had tended to flatten out into a soft floral vanilla musk. No vanilla here ladies, just beautiful, fresh, snappy greens and whites. What a nice surprise! Ambergris and suede? Undetectable except as a nuance of soft sexiness and a little humid depth. Romantic, whimsical and ladylike. Fresh, natural, elegant, I could go on. This fragrance makes me want to go dance in the sunshine, and would even be uplifting on a cold rainy day.

I am intrigued by Carnal Flower, but my husband hates it and I also find it a bit overpowering sometimes. Flowerhead is a pretty good alternative. The rose gives it a soft, feminine touch. But even then, to me it is definitely not a standard flower perfume. While wearing it, I keep wondering ‘who are you?’. Sometimes I smell bubblegum, sometimes a lush plant store, sometimes rotten flowers. Everything that is written before in the reviews - good and bad - is true, and more! It’s a fragrance that keeps you guessing and that’s why I recently bought a full bottle. It’s early spring right now and in my opinion that’s a good season for this fragrance, but maybe it works in other seasons as well. Longevity is good! General note: It is my fourth fragrance of Byredo, so apparently I am a fan of the house.

I absolutely love this perfume and it's one of the first full bottles of I've gotten in a long time. From a full bottle the spray is pretty massive so I only use 1 and it's such a beautiful green floral scent. It makes me really happy when I wear it and I can sniff it almost all day long. If you spray it into the hair you'll smell it the next day. I accidentally sprayed it into my hair and was pleasantly surprised. I might even buy the flowerhead hair perfume-we will see. I have the Blanche hair perfume and it works really well. Anyhow I can't get enough of this scent and it might just be my signature. Also sometimes Jasmine Sambac can overwhelm a scent for me but in this it blends well the tuberose and green note. I think it might be the suede note which brings everything together.

This is a really feminine beautiful perfume. It is strong so it's best if you spray it and walk into the mist. I couldn't remember what it reminded of then someone commented about Givenchys Amarige. It took me right back to junior high. This was one of my 1rst perfume purchases. The dry down of Flowerhead lingers all day. It's best for Spring or early summer wear. Anytime I wear this I get so many compliments from men and women. I sometimes layer this with Mojave Ghost body cream. My bottle lasts forever cause you don't have to constantly reapply or even over spray it. A little even if just in your hair goes a long way.

Unique and the most beautiful white floral perfume I have ever smelled. It opens with lush green and citrusy notes, almost wet and tropical. And develops in to strong but fresh and uplifting green tuberrose and jasmine scent and stays forever on your skin. It is like a sexy blondie in her flowery flying dress on her bike with a basket of flowers freshly cut, on a hot summer day and as she rides her bike this intoxicating scent and her contagious smile spreads along the way. It is very sad that byredo discontinued this beautiful perfume and deprived us from this beauty.

Wowza! Immense white floral! Crisp and airy sambac jasmine. Not heady, not creamy or screechy, just crisp. It quickly became a favourite along with another floral I worship: Poeme by Lancome. I have a bush of jasmine sambac in my front yard and in the spring when everything is sunny and breezy, the smell is carried out half of a block. Unfortunately it is only temporarily so I adore smelling like this all season :flowery green, airy,sunny and optimistic all the way :) Especially because it projects immensely and lasts 8 hrs+ on my skin and days on my clothes.

Floral paradise! It smells like walking into a brand-new florist shop where fresh bridal bouquets are being made. An absolute paradise for fans of white flowers. Projection and lifespan are excellent. Although it's not a smell you'd wear every day, it's perfect for evening events like weddings, garden parties, and balls. The bottle appears stylish and lovely. The perfume is quite distinctive and lingers on me for a very long time. ideal white flower fragrance It exudes both elegance and femininity. This scent is AMAZING, and I adore wearing it!

My first full bottle of Byredo! This is a very unique, realistic fragrance. Smells like a bouquet of white flowers with a few roses, and not only the flowers, you can smell the green stems as well. It took me by surprise the first time I smelled it because it is unique (almost weird), but weirdly I liked it. Gave it a few moments and it grew on me by lot because it became this gorgeous scent and it filled up a room just by few sprays. It is long lasting as well on my skin. It is unisex, but lean a bit towards female I think.

Well I blind bought a nearly full bottle of this on ebay.. Like the wonderful 'Pulp' you get what it says on the can.... A stonking delirious TKO white floral with an extraordinary ginger long drydown. In fact I am wondering if I have done too much sampling and have something left...but no, this is unique. It's really up there with the tuberose magi like Criminelle fracas and carnal flower. Really beautiful rendition of the delirious White floral and went quickly up there into my desert island must haves... L

Based on the low score here, you would expect this perfume to be bad. But actually it is really, really pretty. I definetely smell the angelica (which is sweet, kind of similar to the angelica from Guerlain Angelique Noire), then white flowers, but in the style of a quick flower infusion that is not yet a tea. It is equally green, sweet and flowery. If you like Angelique Noire from Guerlain and you don’t mind some white florals, then test it out and let is sit a little on the skin. A very nice surprise.

Oh my goodness me, this is a floral heaven. It smells like entering a brand new florist shop which is preparing fresh wedding bouquets. Utter heaven for white floral lovers. There is some similarity to Liz Earle scent but the longevity and projection are so much better. Not an everyday scent but definitely suitable for balls, garden parties, weddings or an evening summer do. If I owned this however, I would wear it, I would flaunt it and wear it with pride and not care.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I usually don't fall for the pure florals, but this! Wow. It's heavy flowery, still soft and round. It smells so genuine and does not at all give me the usual white-floral-headaches. For the first time in about a year I've been wearing the same perfume for a full week. It's especially fantastic layered over Byredos Gypsy Water. Also, the top notes contain lingonberries, not cranberries.

A mix of freshly picked flowers, lots of them, by the way. Such a lively, vibrant and fresh scent that I find perfect for every season, especially springtime. Just imagine you're walking in a garden full of flowers after a rainy day. As cliche as it may sound, but it's exactly like this. Sillage and projection are above average. A big like from me.

Oh my goodness!! You know how people who have had near-death experiences talk about how they find themselves in an ethereal place, assumed to be "heaven" where the colors of the grass and flowers are 10x more vibrant and beautiful than that on earth? Well, this is what those flowers there must smell like. Need I say more?

+ Bouquet of fruity flowers dipped in sweet cream. It's heady, dry, warm, and refreshingly lemony to me. The angelica perfectly balances the creamy, sweet notes. This is divine. Worth the hype. Smells like you've used the best floral soap. fbw. I want this now. It's reminiscent of Bubblegum Chic/Jasmin OD.

Well, I think it's gorgeous - Diorissimo meets Heeley's Bubblegum Chic. Beautiful bubblegum tuberose but made slightly sharp with the lemon. It's sweet yet dry, refreshing yet definitely warm. On me, this is intoxicating and heady...I'd go as far as to say it's one of my favourites from Byredo.

You must absolutely love tuberose and jasmine to like this. Otherwise, holy moly this is awesome, white florals with a green backbone, in no way do they become indolic or animalic. This is just wow, super similar to moon carnival but just without the vanilla and marshmallow sweetness.

This little freaky weirdo! The slutty bubblegum tuberose with the oily velvet ambergris is carried around on a gilded palanquin by the jasmine and rose. It’s the kooky artist cousin to Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs. Wear it if you want people to know you’re better than them. 10/10

One day I am going to own this. I keep going back to the perfumerie to spray this. Holy this stuff is INSANE. - Beautiful white floral scent - Good longevity on skin, GODLY longevity on clothes - Very smooth dry down! - Very good projection

one of the greenest tuberoses but without exaggerating. also one of the most beautiful. I risk being banal but that's how it is. it's the type of tuberose I love. rated 10/10. above average performance, but needs improvement.

This fragrance is absolutely stunning. I had a 2ml tester bottle and I simply cannot stop thinking about buying it. Its a little expensive but it lasts such a long time that it would be worth the price tag I'm the end.

I’m re-testing my Byredo Flowerhead and it is an absolute bomb of crisp green Jasmine and Tuberose with some tart, juicy berries, citrus, and a bit of ambergris rounding it out a bit. This perfume is so strong that it practically blows your face off, and it lasts a really long time, mellowing only slightly past the two hour mark. A minute amount goes more than a long way and I think next time I wear this, I’ll find a way to divide up a single spritz. This is simultaneously hyper realistic yet quite synthetic in that it is amped up to 11 but mostly only radiates from the surface. It is so well done that I am both captivated by the hyper realism of the crisp florist refrigerator florals, yet fully aware that it is amped up way beyond what it should be and has no depth or much warmth. This is a nicely done composition of what I gather to be synthetic ingredients, but somehow I don’t mind and can buy into the illusion. In the “reminds me of” section above, the closest one would be Nasomatto Narcotic Venus, which is also crisp and sparkling but the Tuberose in Narcotic V has a bit more of a vintagey indolic quality, though not overly so. This is not comparable much at all to Michael Michael Kors, which is very deep and warm and natural, and sinks into the skin.

As I spritz it,I can smell an almost tart fruity note,it may be cranberry mixed with lemon but soon florals kick in,very dominant jasmine,also some tuberose with a green undertone,just like newly cut flowers,there is still some juicy fruity note lingering in the background,this fruit note and the green vibe of florals reminds me cacharel eden,not as a dupe,as a fragrance with same vibe annd overall feeling I'm not a Jasmine lover,but it's done beautifully here,florals are sweet but not too much,they're soft and creamy but not in a cloying,almost oily indolic way..fruits and green notes add a freshness and balance Jasmine and tuberose nicely but there is something that ruins it's beauty for me,you know how Jasmine,tuberose can smell in a synthetic,plastic way,they are not synthetic here but in drydown,suede adds a synthetic,plasticy rubbery feeling which I dislike..I can't get why the hell they've used suede here?!it would be a lovely white floral if there was some some delicate woods as base note IMO Longevity and sillage are great but I can't get along this rubbery note ❤❤❤

Firstly let me mention how I adore Byredo as a perfume brand. Their fragrances are beautiful and of incredibly high quality. The bottle looks sleek and pretty. Moreover, the scents are unique and incredibly long lasting on me. I also own Pulp, which smells beautiful and am very much interested in Mojave Ghost for my next purchase. Flowerhead is the perfect white floral perfume. It is sweet but not too sweet to the point where it would be nauseating. Many white floral fragrances can be incredibly cloying, which I absolutely detest. Flowerhead has the perfect balance. It is a very true floral scent and it does not smell artificial at all. I imagine myself walking through a white floral garden on a crisp morning in a flowy white dress. It is very elegant and very feminine. The main notes to me are tuberose and a mix of other white florals. I do not necessarily detect a strong distinctive jasmine like many others seem to. There is also a slight note of greens, which gives it that crisp feel. Overall my all time favourite white floral fragrance.

I truly have a love hate relationship with tuberose. I always buy fragrances in store without really paying attention to the notes just going off of my first feelings towards a scent. This was love at first sniff. I stepped away to smell some bond fragrances but immediately returned to the Byredo counter to purchase this. Now reading the notes on fragrantica I see why I was initially drawn to it. It’s animalic, powdery, & floral with a slight warmth from the suede. I wore this fragrance for 2 weeks straight then became a bit annoyed with it but couldn’t pinpoint why. Now reading the notes I realize that it’s the tuberose. For me the scent of tuberose can become very cloying and overwhelming after awhile and then I become repulsed by it. I still like this fragrance and love to take whiffs from the atomizer but it isn’t my go to and of my 4 Byredo fragrances it’s my least favorite. Overall it’s a good scent. Especially if you’re a white floral lover.

I ADORE tuberose and I'm always super excited when I pick up a sample dominated by my beloved note. I also enjoy suede, so I was really looking forward to trying "Flowerhead". Well, first I have to say that the name "Flowerhead" represents the scent perfectly. If there is such thing as a perfume too floral, then "Flowerhead" definitely is it. It is a great bomb of tropical and sweet tuberose mixed with extremely sweet jasmine, it stays rather linear all the way and I'll admit that I did not get any other notes. And it turns out i'm not such a big fan of tuberose if it's not supported by non floral notes, well this was nice, but simply...too floral, too much for me. But, hey, if grand florals which are by the way very crowd pleasing and safe for everyday use, your thing, you should try to hunt down a sample. Staying power was very good, more than 7 hours.

April 2019- Testing. Whoa!!!!!!!! I love tuberose but this beats them all. Sooooo pronounced!! Sprayed on at 9:00 A.M. and I’m writing this at 10:43 pm and I can still smell it on my skin, without searching for it. It isn’t rank, just potent. Can’t decide if I like it. Enjoyed the opening, it had more facets, after one hour it was tuberose and only tuberose for the rest of the day. It’s luxurious, creamy and potent. I got compliments today. I would not recommend for casual wear unless you only use a tiny bit of it. Full spray, multiple applications better suited to a significant appearance, church, wedding, parties, etc. It definitely makes a statement. No subtle wallflower here. Still testing Bal D‘Afrique and Mojave’s Ghost to find a siginiture fragrance. Not sure which one will win out.

The jasmine and tuberose are vying for my affection. I feel like an archduke in Victorian England, and two beautiful women are courting me for marriage in the garden ... OK, I may have been reading too much Jane Austen. There’s something playful and naughty in this scent - even slightly freaky, I agree with you Wiley1111. Maybe it's the rose? It’s a very good white floral bouquet and the ambergris rounds it out beautifully. It’s a safe blind buy if you love jasmine and tuberose, but prices are high. I got above average sillage and it lasted about 5 hours on my skin. For a niche house, Byredo has very approachable scents. Flowerhead is what My Way by Armani tries to be. Disclaimer: if you love it, get it before L’Oreal “improves” the formulation.

Got this off ebay for a really good price and this was a blind buy. The fragrance is a true floral, more jasmine than a tuberose with hints of citrus. This perfume smells v natural and takes some 30 mins or more to start smelling nice. I love floral and this is no exception. However given I own so many I cannot claim it is the best I have. But I m impressed by how natural it is made to smell. My one big complain against niche fragrances is that not many can justify their price point.There are some that can, but I m not yet sure about this one. May be it will grow on me.. Don't reach out for this one unless u truly appreciate the scent of flowers

It seems I’ve tried this before but I don’t remember.. maybe I didn’t like it :/ anyway now it’s a chilly March and I think this is a really pretty scent. On my skin and clothes it opens minty jasmine and stays that way more than 4 hours later so it seems to me a linear scent. Simple, youthful and very much an Indian jasmine imo. I like it a lot <3 Oh and it reminds me of Pacifica’s Tunisian Jasmine, but much lighter and airier.. I prefer Tunisian Jasmine actually but this is good in a different way, great for spring, very good projection and longevity

Lots of jasmine in a slightly lighter way, must be the fruits even though I would never say this is fruity. It does smell a bit grape-y, probably why it seems like a tuberose perfume to some. Pretty linear, projection is low to medium. Longevity is great, could smell it faintly the next day. About 6 hours in, it's less like jasmine and more of a very herbal kind of sweet vanilla. Not listed but that's the impression I get. Maybe the ambergris?

I made the mistake of applying this after a bath and before I went to bed for the night. I had a disturbed sleep as the perfume was too overwhelming. During the day this is a loud white floral, over night it is the devil incarnate and it sort of put me off it a little. Best in summer, outside in the sun, and really - after my experience the other evening - preferably on someone else, I don't know, who lives miles away from me.

Really liked this..I find Flowerhead unique and uplifting..it gets the essence of jasmine sambac nicely.. It reminds me of wedding receptions..one of THE good ones from the house..underrated and overlooked! ITS GENDERLESS MEANING ITS UNISEX ALTHOUGH HERE ITS MENTIONED AGAIN WRONGLY.. (check Byredo website and they too mention this as UNISEX..TRY IT..ITS good)

I find this to be really beautiful, wearable white floral. There’s no bubblegum tuberose here. What keeps me from purchasing a full bottle is the drydown. I don’t know what it is, the closest descriptor I can think of is pond water. I’ve tried many times in different weather and I still get that result. Also, it has moderate projection but poor longevity.

To me this is all jasmine and tuberose and green. The greenness gives it a sharpness which I think some people dislike, but I enjoy it. For me, the greenness gives it a more realistic quality. I don't get any cranberry and only a hint of citrus. It's not particularly sweet or heady or indolic. Just crisp and fresh cut. Great for spring/daytime.

Flowerhead blends together beautifully as it settles on your skin - authentic rather than synthetic, a beautiful bouquet of white florals, fresh greens and sweet complementary berries & fruit. If you dig white florals, do yourself a favor and check this one out. If you find white florals offputting - well, go on... get outta here! =P

I'm very torn about this perfume. When I smelt it 5 years ago I loved it. There's something shocking about it. It's super fresh flowers but there's something about it articifical that puts me off. I love and hate it. For this reason I will not repurchase. I'm always drawn to resmell it in store though so who knows.

AH another floral green tuberose. This is a nice green tuberose, with nice jasmine scents. It smells similar to a few other floral tuberose heavy hitters: Do Son, Michael Kors, etc. I like this, but I'd never wear it, and I think you can find something similar for a better price. Nothing we haven't smelled before.

This is like a grenade going off! It takes a good 2 hours or so for it to settle down into something that is quite lovely. I could see this as a wedding fragrance - but only if applied hours before the ceremony. Unbelieveable sillage. Just like the old Brycreem ads - a little dab'll do you!

This is hyper realistic tuberose. Tuberose (sedap malam as in my hometown) that bloom by the dusk, spreading their scent at night and went off again at dawn. Smells just right off the clay vase. Green, regal and striking. Performance is amazing on my skin

This is a "kick-you-in-the-face floral" perfume. One to two sprays max on this one. I accidentally over sprayed the first time and those flowers will try to choke you. That said it's a lovely scent just... A LOT. Use it wisely, haha.

I'm not usually a fan of floral scents but I actually don't mind this, very balanced between the citrus and the florals... Pretty summer scent not over powering but subtle Shame about the price

Very white floral heavy, fresh scent. It reminds me of the discontinued Gucci Flora Gracious Tuberose. And I swear I can smell lily of the valley there...

Fruity tuberose. I like it much more than others by this line I’ve tried. Unique, however, a tuberose lover may not find it the most original composition. Kind of reminds me of Amarige by Givenchy, but more fresh and clean and fruity and soapy. The “green” notes along with the cranberry and lemon remain equally dominant with the tuberose, occasionally taking over. It translates in my mind to something between a fresh sweet green apple and the mirabelle plum(?) in the Chloe Nomade line. I saw someone mention DKNY be Delicious, which I haven’t smelled in 20 years, yet somehow that was what initially came to mind. Dries down to a fruity musk. Overall a fresh clean scent. Somewhat sterile and nonhuman, like the other Byredo’s I’ve tried, seems like it would make a better scented candle or diffuser. I must say though, I rarely get “nose-tired” of perfumes and always overspray. I did 3 spritzes on my arm and have been sniffing for a few hours and I’m a little nasally exhausted. This is somehow loud, and demands attention. I never agree with reviewers who say “no more than 2 sprays,” but I think I agree for once in the case of Flowerhead. If oversprayed, this scent is going to keep grabbing your attention and slapping you in the face. Overall very nice. I’m glad to see anyone making white florals, happier to see others enjoying them. I have a rapidly growing collection of tuberose scents. I ultimately find that my favorite part of Flowerhead is quite similar to Amarige, which I own and love exactly how it is, so I don’t think I’ll be needing a bottle at this time.

This fragrance should come with a warning label that it could be obnoxious if heavily sprayed. It really packs a punch. I feel like I just got hit with a freight train full of white flowers. It is HUGE! I could not imagine owning a bottle of this as one spray is all that is needed to perfume yourself and whatever building you are in. It is a big, very dewy white floral, primarily tuberose and jasmine which appears intensely right out the gate. Has lots of green notes and an aquatic, cold aspect to it too, so descriptions of flowers in a florist refrigerator are pretty apt. There is iso and ambroxan mixed with the slightly animalic base of suede and ambergris. Fortunately, not enough synthetics to totally ruin the scent, but it shouldn't be here in the first place, especially at the prices being asked for a bottle. I also agree with others that this smells very similar to Bond's Earth Day though that is sans the synthetic molecules smell and is much more toned down and wearable. This does seem to lighten up as it goes along, and I am using "seem to" as opposed to "does" as I am not sure if it is actually lightening up, or if my body's defenses are making me nose blind so I don't incapacitate myself. I'll have to test this around people and see. Overall, while I do think it is pretty, I seriously have no idea where I could ever wear this scent as it is just too overwhelmingly strong.

This is a first impression based off of a spray-mini sample given to me in a department store, freshly decanted. The top-notes, mid-notes and base notes unfolded sequentially over the first 30 minutes or so. An hour into the drydown. Flowerhead comes across as a photo-realistic indolic bouquet of white flowers, with an animalistic base. If the base notes came across any louder at all, I think the indolic + animalic accords would get a bit too skanky. But this fragrance does not cross that line for me, even four or five hours after spraying it on. Flowerhead comes across as chypre adjacent in a classic way... like from before the 1950s. I could see fragrances like this being seen as hip at some point when everyone finally tires of "patchoud" fragrance bases... maybe the pendulum will swing this way. Having said all of this... I respect this fragrance more than I actually like it. I think this is for a person who is a bit more adventurous than me... maybe a confident man whose skin chemistry leans into the base notes (which predominate after about two hours and gives it more of a masculine vibe), such that the indolic floral accord at the start is a temporary but fun surprise to smell on him? 🦋🧡🦋
