Future Memories

It opens bright but sweet. Transparent. Sugary in the air, but up close, there’s a slight bitterness. It develops into a non-gourmand vanilla. More ambery, translucent. After a couple of hours, I start getting something almost frothy. And the drydown... beautiful, fluffy vanilla. ⚜️⚜️⚜️ ✨ S. Is it special? (or do I already have something similar) Yes. I can’t think of anything quite like it. 💞 E. Does it spark an emotion? Does it bring back a memory? Does it tell a story? Yes. Imagine a dark amber crystal slowly transforming into the lightest yellow, fluffy ball of fur. Or... the Evil Queen turning into Snow White. The warm, sunshine version of Snow White. 😄 So... mysterious, confident and yet also approachable vibes (once it dries down). 👑 W. Can I see a time when I’d wear it in my life? Absolutely. I would wear it anytime I want to bring out this side of me. Signature-scent worthy. My Verdict: S ✅ E ✅ W ✅ ⚜️⚜️⚜️ I do have a 1-2 week cooling-off period before buying a fragrance... However, this is a gem for me. The remaining question is: 50 ml or 100 ml? 😂

I was gifted a sample before this highly anticipated release, but for some reason I kept putting off wearing it. It felt like it deserved my full attention, not just a few careless sprays on the run. I absolutely love the name, and I was curious to see how it would resonate with the scent's storytelling. And it does. The opening feels vintage-inspired. I'm someone who loves classic floral aldehydic openings from times long gone, so I truly appreciate it. The composition then evolves into something more modern. I'm usually very picky when it comes to vanilla, but this composition develops into the most beautiful creamy, unisex vanilla. It's long been predicted that "green gourmand" will take the lead in 2026, and Future Memories feels like the kind of fragrance we'll be smelling a lot. To be perfectly honest, if someone gave me a 100ml bottle right now with the condition that it was the only perfume I could wear until it ran out, I’d happily take it. It’s incredibly captivating.

HOLY SHIT. I own around 1,240 fragrances, I bought this today in West Hollywood, and it’s immediately worked its way into my top 5 most chic fragrances for life!! Right after buying it, I went across the street to get some Levi’s at Redone, and both of the girls working were raving about “you smell good”. Dreams & prayers coming true over here lol, an eternally cool VANILLA from Byredo. V A N I L L A I say!!! I foresee this selling out like crazy and becoming a massive topic in the frag community... I guess we’ll see... It doesn’t even launch for another week. I feel lucky to have gotten it early. I’d like to describe what it smells like, but I can’t. For those who are saying it’s green, I’m not really getting any green from it. I’m getting warm, vanilla, tiny bit of spices, tiny bit of like an Orris smell or an Iris butter smell, and just iconic lower east side energy. Perfectly unisex. This is absolutely reenergized my love for this addiction.

This has Givaudan/Quentin Bisch’s infamous Ambrofix note, so I can completely understand the polarized feedback. It’s one of those notes that will either make you gag, or fall in love and immediately purchase a bottle. If you’re already familiar with (and enjoy) Ambrofix compositions, then I think this is absolutely worth sampling. Personally, I really like this release. It definitely sits in the same general aromatic amber-vanilla family as Althaïr, Vanille Antique, and Mercedes-Benz Club Black, but Future Memories feels a little more jazzed up and dimensional. There’s a coolness through it that keeps it from feeling too dense or heavy. This seems like it would be versatile across all seasons. Also, the performance is nuclear which is a fun change of pace for Byredo. For the first 3–4 hours, it genuinely smells like you sprayed it seconds ago.

Byredo Future Memories is a fragrance that doesn’t just evoke memories—it creates the feeling of memories yet to be made. Its character is truly unique: soft, musky, modern, and effortlessly refined. The aldehydes illuminate a delicate vanilla, giving it an airy transparency and a beautiful clean-soap effect. The blackcurrant adds a distinctive twist—not overpowering, but offering a vibrant and unexpected accent that makes the composition feel truly original. It opens with a green, lively, and fruity freshness before gradually evolving into a comforting blend of creamy vanilla, clean musk, and elegant soapy accords. The result is a scent that feels intimate, luminous, and quietly unforgettable. A fragrance for those who appreciate subtle beauty, modern minimalism, and elegance expressed through the finest details. 10/10

Mr. Quentin Bisch is about to make waves in the fragrance world once again. My first true love was Chloé Nomade, which I still wear to this day. Just like Essential Parfums’ Bois Impérial or Amouage’s Guidance, Byredo’s Future Memories has reached another level. I’m not usually a huge fan of Byredo fragrances because I find their projection a little too moderate, but Future Memories really stands out. This isn’t just a fragrance; it’s an extraordinary olfactory emotion. I’m still overwhelmed by the sheer ecstasy it gives me. To me, this is an absolute masterpiece. I bought the 100 ml bottle and I don’t regret it for a second. The scent is breathtaking. If you love Bois Impérial, you’re going to love Future Memories. It has the same DNA, but it’s muskier and more vanilla-forward. This is going to be a banger! 🔥

This reinvigorates my faith in Byredo. I knew the brand when it first came on the scene. I owned several at the time — rose noir, bal d’Afrique, and pulp. Over the years my taste evolved and I came to outgrow the brand DNA. BUT, Future Tomorrow is giving me something so unique and special. It evolves and evolves and evolves. It is good from beginning to end. The initial aldehyde/galbanum combo is sexy and you can’t stop smelling your wrist. Things only get smoother from there, blackberry in the subtlest and most refined way, followed by a creamy dry down that smells like the skin of a ripe fruit with vanilla. The aldehyde sparkle is lightly present at this point, giving lift. Nothing juvenile here.

A truly lovely creation! The fragrance has a distinct impression of fresh green plant stems. I’m not sure if this is exactly how galbanum smells, but that’s probably the note I’m perceiving as this vibrant green facet. The vanilla and liqueur are beautifully rendered. They add a delicate creamy softness to the composition, making it feel smooth, rounded, and incredibly comforting. It feels as though the fragrance wraps you in a soft cocoon. I think this new release will appeal to many people because it’s exceptionally easy to wear. It’s approachable, harmonious, and pleasant, without any challenging or polarizing accords, yet it never feels boring.

One of the most interesting vanilla fragrances I have come across so far on my fragrance journey. The slight smokiness and spiciness making it that much more interesting. This is not your average in your face, sweet vanilla. It is unique and transitions from a dark vanilla smokiness to an addictive clean, vanilla musk with some backbone Not here to upsell the fragrance to anyone. Please test before purchasing. I don’t believe any fragrance is blind buy safe.

I agree with Georgia Tonka above. Very special, all year round, signature worthy perfume. Starts fresh and warm and settles as a warm ambery fragrance. Very-very nice!

Future memories is a very clean, addictive smell. I actually enjoy the scent a lot. Very close projection and sillabe, long lasting on skin. Not a room filler, but elegant, vanilla driven but with notes of musk and clean sheets. If you want something that smells like elegance, is definitely worth to look at. Not for extreme heat, need to retest in winter, so for now I would say spring and fall safe. For the price nothing special, but if money is no object then...

The opening smells to me close to the layering of Vanille Antique by Byredo and Iris Blue by Giorgio Armani (minus a briefly there green aldehydes note). Dry down on me is identical to the dry down of Vanille Antique. All in all I do not see the reason to get this atm. However. I recognise this is a high quality pleasant and interesting fragrance leaning on the unisex side.

Ok I don’t get hardly any of the notes. It’s aldehydes on first spray then for me it goes straight into vanilla musk. No orange blossom, no blackcurrant no cream liqueur. It’s absolutely not boozy at all it’s just a nice generic green vanilla compared. It’s a nice scent I just wanted and expected more. Also dry down quite masculine on my skin

I’ll just say this, my first impressions were all over the place, I think this fragrance takes time. Right now, I’m enjoying the green (Galbanum) and airy (Ambroxan) vanilla with that Quentin Bisch musk. It’s nice, different and makes me think, which I like!

I was really excited to try this one for three reasons: 1) I love the brand, 2) I love perfumer Quentin Bisch, and 3) I love a good green vanilla. Right from the opening, I get a smoky vanilla, even though there aren’t any smoky notes listed. To my nose, it also leans slightly masculine. As it settles, the vanilla becomes smoother and creamier, reminding me a bit of Vanille Antique. It’s definitely not a bad fragrance, but it isn’t a love for me. I was expecting something quite different—closer to the other green vanillas I know, like Vanilla Planifolia and Vanille Camouflage. The performance is amazing, though. I sprayed it in the evening, and I could still smell it the next morning. I’d highly recommend sampling this one before buying.

No! no, no, no! All of his creations seem to follow the same pattern for me. I smell them on a paper strip and initially really like them. Then I wait for the dry-down and suddenly I can’t stand them. On skin, it’s even worse. I find them suffocating, and within an hour I usually end up with a headache. The opening is pretty, but once it settles, all I get are these strong, overpowering laundry vibes.

It seems like Quentin Bisch has phoned in this assignment. I wanted to love Future Memories, but it smells like Impadia-scented shampoo poured over generic amber woods. Yawn. Update: persistent longevity ... the dry-down is memories of a heavy smoker that uses a highly fragranced shampoo.

Reminds me something like a combination of Musk Therapy and Ambre Latte. But this one is slightly funkier, there’s something a little nasty about it, maybe due to the labdanum, I’m not sure. If you like airy scents that smell slightly dirty up close, this is it.

Heavy on the yellow florals and creamy vanilla to me. Not something I’d reach for. It’s reminiscent of Gucci’s Gorgeous Orchid to my nose.

Not being a fan of Byredo or Bisch I still kept an open mind testing it. Got a decant and sprayed a lot. It opened as a very sugary-vanilla. Not lactonic maybe a bit ambery from the labdanum. Then it transformed to a green, sour vanilla with sugar and I could clearly smell the galbanum and the black currant. But of course today’s perfume can’t do without ambroxan which quickly turned the scent into a bitter, medicinal vanilla with labdanum. I have to accept the laboratory Bisch works with doesn’t do it for me and stop trying.

This one is so odd and not what I was expecting at all. I get some vanilla, but it's overpowered by this potent, bitter, almost smoky menthol note. Granted, I only tested it on the strip and not my skin, but I was totally turned off. I'm not getting any resemblance to Wedding Silk Santal or even Vanille Antique. It's just...not appealing. To me, anyway. If you want to smell like vanilla + menthol American Spirits, you might like this.

I’m sorry but eww, this is not good! I had better expectations coming from such an accomplished person as Quentin Bisch. This is vanilla gone wrong with a ton of ambroxan and amber 🤮 Longevity is phenomenal of course, with every fragrance I hate, I get to suffer for 12 + hours 🤭 Definitely one to test and not blind buy! Glad I only just tested this!!

To me Future Memories smells like Vanille Antique plus galbanum in the opening and mid. The dry-down is less like Vanille Antique, I get something rather unpleasant on my skin. I suppose it could be a bad mix with my skin chemistry as I did not like Vanille Antique on myself either. To me Future Memories is a miss.

There’s no exciting use of any quality vanilla. Familiar Little Trees Vanillaroma kind of fruity sweet scent for an hour or two, then the number-one ingredient in mass-market mall perfumes: Ambrofix, for hours and hours. Where is galbanum or orange blossom? Not in here. Just that nasty Ambrofix.

Not a fan of Byredo now just releasing clones of other fragrances. This just smells almost like a very weak green irish tweed when fresh, then it becomes a more wearable Althair before becoming just dirty smelling.

Scents of generic mens designers before settling into metallic slightly dusty sweet vanilla. Just Bisch sleepwalking through another job. Uninspired.

Smells like a very generic mass-market women's scent, something from 2010s. Very uninteresting and very unlike the usual Byredo.

To my nose, Vanille Antique and Donna Karan Cashmere & Palo Santo both smell like the original Boss Bottled generously drizzled with vanilla syrup. Future Memories is the latest addition to that family. Except this time, someone also brought a bale of hay into the room. Sadly, it's one of Byredo's longest-lasting perfumes. I had to wash it off.

If these are my Future Memories, I think I’d like to forget...

When I sprayed it on my skin, the first impression I had was wow this is a very strong fragrance as I could only smell the blackcurrent and aldehydes then after a few minutes the vanilla finally arrives and it’s sweet for a moment and that’s when I felt the orange blossom come through which made it a refreshing gourmand. The longevity is 3+ hours, it definitely projects a lot in the first hour so this is not the type of fragrance I would recommend for someone working in an office. I think it would be great in the autumn and winter perhaps as an evening fragrance. I won’t be buying a full bottle of this however if Byredo were to make a candle out of this fragrance then I would definitely purchase it

Although it isn’t listed in the notes, I detect a masculine, shaving foam-like lavender scent reminiscent of dihydromyrcenol, along with vanilla, and a slightly bitter note—listed as orris in the notes but smelling more like carrot seed or angelica. It’s also somewhat similar to Frédéric Malle’s “Music for the While.” It feels like the pineapple-like galbanum chemical (personally, I cannot understand why those pineapples (e.g. Allyl amyl glycolate) are connected or considered as Galbanum) and amber notes have been significantly cut down. This is not as fun or intriguing a fragrance as the notes suggest.

I have the original sample form Byredo retailer. Almost said: ah, no, if this is Q. bisch .... I am not interested. The testing reassured this to be true. Quentin tends to go around the same type of fragrance recently, just twicking the formula a bit to every brand he works. Too many versions of the same formula. This is another “been there, done that” case. It aslo teh most similar to 3 other: Impadia, Guideance, and watered MFK BC 540. The longevity is persistent and approx. 7 hours. Nevetheless, meh. not worth the money.🥺

I tried it out today and it smells kinda similar to gentle fluidity gold by MFK and Byredo vanille antique, although not nearly as dense and antique smelling. Also, on my skin, there is something about it that reminds me of cough syrup or a slurpee from 7/11, but not in a bad way. Overall, I think it’s a good vanilla that’s not too sweet.

It’s fine. On paper there is more of an earthy pull from the iris, leans slightly smoky and dark. On skin it’s much more vanilla-forward and simpler in what it offers. Comparable to, say, Amore Caffè, or Eau Duelle. Disappointing–I wanted it to be weirder (greener, smokier, more powdery, less sweet, less forgettable).

In the opening, this fully smelt like queening from mind games for myself and my friend. I lost interest in the dry down so can't say. Edit: stand by what I said, and I added "reminds me of" and interesting is won't allow me to add it. I suggest you use the comparison tool and I know I wasn't imagining it

Very similar to Matiere Premiere’s Encens Suave which I already own so sadly there’s no place for this in my collection. I am shocked at the projection & longevity though, 4 hours later and it’s as if I just sprayed it. I wish they could make BdA Absolu with this kind of potency.

I sprayed this one straight to my skin since I was so intrigued about new release but... on me it smells like a spicy arabian spices perfume, leans masculine, has a dirt-like aftertaste... I was expecting something futuristic and dreamy, but.. its just so heavy and.. boring? 😅

Smells like a bitter sweet pill wrapped in paper. It was a mess on my skin immediately after the opening.
