Lil Fleur

Oh Lil Fleur... this was my first real big-girl perfume purchase. It's so beautiful - this perfume really does do a dance on your skin. The notes tango together, telling a unique story that unfolds in three parts. The opening of saffron and tangerine is immediately bright, sparkling, and almost sizzling, like heat waves on a hot summer day. The opening truly does have an electric feel to it. Next, it settles into the GORGEOUS rose note that is perfectly balanced with a leather note that gives this perfume a very unique edge. Finally, Lil Fleur settles into a nice musk that carries for hours. The vanilla is not prominent at all, I would have never guessed it was even in there, to be honest. The sileage and projection are ENMOROUS. I have to be careful wearing it to work. In my opinion, Lil Fleur is a work of art. It's the perfect spring time frag for the edgy it-girl or guy. The best way I can describe Lil Fleur is; it feels like your boyfriend is in a band - drenched in leather, hairspray, and clangy silver chains - and he just got back from tour. He greets you with a bouquet of roses but you can tell the roses were definitely in the back of the tour bus for a day or two. But you're so in love, you're just happy to get some beautiful flowers from the one you love. You spend the night together, he leaves in the morning to get back on the road, and you're left with the smell of him, your night together, and of course... your roses. Rating: 9.5/10

Like Capfi, I’m surprises by the bad reviews here. I love this perfume! I was looking and trying very different perfumes yesterday by Skins and this was the one that I fell in love with right away. My daughter also finds it to be very pleasant. At first I don’t know exactly what I am smelling but it is a mix of something sweet and Fresh at the same time. Then comes the rose and what a rose it is. A few years ago I was in a rose garden in South Africa and there was a pink rose called ‘Victoria’ and I loved Its scent. The rose in this perfume reminds me off that particular rose, so no wonder I fell in love with it right away, since perfumes are all about memories. Great sillage and longivity, I can still smel it on my clothes from yesterday! Don’t let the bad reviews hold you back from this perfume but try it yourself if you love rose perfumes. Maybe you will love it just as much as I do. If I have to compare this with another perfume, I would choose ‘Jacinthe et Rose’ from E’Coudray but it is not the same. I love both perfumes!

I got a sample today. I was very impressed by Byredo. They have a flawless customer service. They had sent me two samples with my order, and one of these samples was Lil Fleur. I really wonder what is the meaning of perfume's name? Lil from little? Lil from lily? But there are no lilies there. Anyway, I put the perfume on skin and I was stroke by a huge rose, dark, Draculian rose. It is like a vampiric rose, deep and complex, hidden behind of strong dose of gasoline. From time to time I think of oud mixed with the best quality rose jam. There is a bit of vanilla combined with a soiled biker leather jacket. Shy and dirty on the same time. Majestic rose in cloud of exhaust gas. This a Portrait of Lady made with an obvious amount of bossiness, like a somehow Portrait of a Man. The price is right, the delivery is perfect, the description matches the feeling of the perfume. A very good perfume for the today's world. You know what? I kind of love it. Is like a Stockholm Syndrome. The Swedes from Byredo got me!

Interesting scent with a crisp, fizzy opening with cassis, citrus & rose before it transforms into a delicate leather with dominant rose. The cassis is very beautiful in here. I have to say I am surprised by all the negative reviews as I usually go for more mainstream scents myself, but I really appreciate this. I don’t find this difficult or offensive and have received several compliments when wearing this. Leather is usually a challenging note for me but it works in here, it is not too dominant and adds a nice contrast to the fruits and florals and rounds off the scent to something more unusual than your typical fruity-floral. Lil Fleur is more of an edgy scent, it is light, minimalistic, just smells like something a cool girl would wear. Dries down to a pleasant, ambery rose-vanilla. Longevity about 4 hours with mild projection.

What a pleasant surprise! Honestly I've been ignoring this one for a while. No special reason, I just thought it's gonna be some soft-watercolor-washed out floral along the lines of La Tulipe (which actually I love, it is pure embodiment of watercolor tulip scent for me). Anyhow, I went on to try Lil Fleur and really, really liked it, ha! At first it gave me this cute tangerine-rose blast, very frivolous and innocent almost. But soon after the saffron and woody notes make an appearance and all of a sudden she is not so innocent anymore. She is serious, a bit provocative and she means to seduce you. There is something that slightly reminds me of Gucci Guilty Absolute, probably the rose-cassis combo. Definitely considering a full bottle of this. Must try if you love rose fragrances.

I was so intrigued by this one based on the low rating and many negative reviews I personally like a new/strange/novel scent so I would say " please do not underestimate LIL Fleur " First I sniffed at the bottle, I got something citrusy come along with plastic scent which is not new and a bit boring so I tested on my skin and t-shirt, 30 mins later, citrusy scent gone and replaced with the scent I could say " CLASSY " How I can best describe it as a rosy, soft and floral laundry detergent spread across an extra large sheet of leather. Plus the dry down is so perfect, it transformed to the scent I could not describe, something like a dried rose bouquet kept in luxury crate. It's on my wish list already :-D

Maybe the marketing has gotten to me, but the smell dredges up memories of young love... like the hair of the sporty girl you had a crush on wearing crisp new sneakers on the first day of school. The scent itself I s evocatively youthful without actually smelling juvenile. The leather in the composition really brings to mind that new shoe smell. Obviously synthetic but comforting in a way. The rose is the most stand out note, but it’s modern, & doesn’t in any way smell of old ladies like they sometimes do. The saffron adds some brightness and exotic allure to the overall composition. I’ve enjoyed my sample a lot, but would much prefer smelling this on my lady.

This is beautiful and could easily be my new signature scent. Seeing the notes one would think that it’s a heavy and strong fragrance, but it’s actually quite delicate and sophisticated. I detect leather and rose, and something that reminds me of Lovehearts candy - in a good way. It reminds me slightly of a danish perfume called HYGGE BY UNIQUE, which is not listed in Fragrantica, but Lil Fleur has a much better longevity and projection. I only have a 2 ml. sample, but I’ve ordered a 100 ml. bottle. Can’t wait to my hands on it!

Got it from my sister as a birtdaypresent, I adore it! On me the rose is present, I am not a rose girl, only if it is done right..this is soo addictive can't stop sniffing...well the rose, tangerine, cassis, saffron, , little bit leather are the maine notes on my skin..I still don't know the performance and longevity, I only tested a tiny bit, it is expencive..so not a daily wear, sigh...but I can smell it around me with that tiny bit of spray, so I think it will perform verry good!

Absolute love at first sniff for me - I’ve never liked leathery scents but it works so well with the jammy rose. I get a distinctive powdery note in the drydown but maybe it’s just the fusion of the Cassis and Leather. It’s definitely musky and Australian’s would know what I mean when I say it smells just like Musk Sticks (candy). It’s decidedly pink and pretty, I adore it.

I love this so much. So special. I’ve never understood why people say beautiful on a fragrance, but the first sentence that got out of my mouth when I tried it was omg it’s so beautiful! I feel the saffron that most, it gives such a unique touch to the fragrance. To me it’s floral, bright floral, but so special because of the saffron. Smells like beautiful confidence women

Am I the only one who is getting Guerlain Rose Cherie from this?? So much so that I considered maybe they sent me the wrong sample. It’s a sweet, almost medicinal rose. I am not getting the tangerine, but maybe if I smell hard I can get the whiff of leather. Either way, I LOVE this. I just ordered Rose Cherie, but as an idiot, I will probably buy this too.

It smells to me like an old leather purse that has a packet of parma violets and rose soap in it. And I love that haha 😄 Easiest review ever. Not sure if men would like this but I wouldn't complain if my man wore it. This was a free sample from sopost but I'll definitely buy a bottle soon for sure!!! Beautiful blend.

Oh, this is beautiful. I can imagine giving a bottle of this to a person in the 1920s, and telling them it's from the 2020s and seeing how they respond. A little bit goes a long way.

This is so sexy and blended so smooth! Rose, cassis, vanilla and leather all dancing in harmony! So alluring because its not over complicated. Bold and confident.

This perfume is a mood! I feel like a bad-ass when I wear this, complete with a leather jacket and boots on a crisp cold day!

Just wow! I wasn't expecting this... And I am shocked at the low ratings, but I should have got used to it... As I have different taste than the majority. I have a sample of Lil' Fleur. My relation with Byredo brand is.... Italian marriage 😄. So I always hold my breath when sampling something new from them. I own Bal'd Afrique (winter), La Tulipe (spring), Sundazed (summer) and Bibliotheque (autumn). I love them all. Now, Lil' Fleur opens fizzy, spicy, bubbly, like you have a glass of champagne or Coca-Cola underneath your nose. And then comes the flower. Maybe more flowers. I would have never guessed that this was the rose, because I feel something different. Exotic, slightly sweet, tart sour flowers. For the first hour, the scent was oscillating between La Tulipe, Pulp, and Oud Immortelle - yes, you definitely feel a smoke, fresh greenness and ripe fruit. I just breathed and experienced the scent. I felt that this was not similar to anything. While I appreciated the difference of the creation, I was not enchanted. Later, the scent developed to something very pleasant, so I guessed that the perfume liked me. I felt that underlying tart, green vanilla and then Kilian's Princess joined the walk. Or Hermes Twilly Ginger? Or both? There was this cooling and pinching, minty, gingery, galangal-y facet. Really great! Because it is 30°C at home at the moment, and probably 45 outside. I smell also a salty water. I see there's ambergris, so it makes sense. Now my like meter went from 3/5 to 4,5/5. It is sooo interesting, so unique, and... EDGY. Luckily I don't feel any leather, because that would be a home run 🏃♀️. Now I smell the Princess, PdM Delina, Ouai Melrose Place and Guerlain Angelique Noire combination. Yes, at the same time! 😳 I get that some reviewers got this artificial sweet note, but no-no, it is caused by cassis, saffron and tangerine, which are fizzy, bubbly, sour and tart. And that effervescent, mint-ginger cooling facet. I don't mind these here, because I don't have that association. Definitely Lil' Fleur is nothing I have smelled before and it takes you quite on a journey ✈️💐. ENJOY 🎉🎂👍

I've just found a sample of this among the many free ones I have in my drawer while looking for a different one. I saw the name and went "Byredo?!" coz I've never tried any of their perfumes before. I was really excited to try it but I wasn't sure if I liked it at first. I like the opening, it's a fizzy rose and tangerine but then it starts smelling a bit weird. This is the first leather perfume I've tried and it actually smells like I've sprayed some sort of rose scent onto a leather jacket. I didn't think a leather note was gonna be literal like that, I don't know what I expected tbh. Something about it in the mid reminds me of a perfume I smelled growing up, Sunflowers By Elizabeth Arden or something. It took me a while to figure out what it reminded me of but I think it's that just with added leather. It's not exactly like it but there's just something that really reminds me of it but I can't put my finger on it. I've heard the perfumes from this house can be quite weak but this seems quite strong. I do like it but I'd have to see if I liked it after wearing it all day but up to now I definitely think I'd wear it. It's quite unusual and I like unusual perfumes. The leather has grown on me. It'd be good to wear with an actual leather jacket. I can imagine myself wearing a cute dress, docs or trainers, and a leather jacket to go out for a drink on a summers night in a beer garden when it's still light at 9pm. Maybe not for a date, it's not a full on sexy scent but for drinks and food with friends. It could totally work for a daytime scent too though. It is very synthetic smelling but I don't mind that. It kinda smells like the inside of a car with leather seats and a strong hanging airfreshner. I can see why lots of people don't like it but I would love a full bottle of this. Maybe next summer I will.

Haha so many negative reviews. Guess it's because it sets wrong expectations with the name, and like many Byredos this one is abstract, conceptual, artsy, weird even. You can immediately recognize it's a Byredo. It's a saffrony rose-leather, edgy, cool, uniquely confident. It doesn't smell natural, but that's the point. Don't imagine a rose garden or leather bag. Imagine a Scandinavian influencer's instagram inspo-post set in a modern, clean arrangement with a rose, a white shirt and a leather biker jacket thrown on a chair. I have been thinking about it for a while now how it could represent "teenage angst" (as it's stated in the marketing message it does) and I might have got it. I have a good guess at least. I said this smells confident, and it does it so in a very obvious way. Hey look at me, I am so cool, and I am going to overplay it often means "fake it till you make it" - possibly camouflaging teenage anxiety?? I am not sure but it does smell confident nevertheless.

Well, it's not THAT bad... at least on me... sometimes rose fragrances work with my chemistry, and sometimes they smell like sour - vintage - nausea causing BLEH. Now this is a simple sweet rosy scent on me, works well, but not quite uniqe. The leather note I guess is responsible for the spicy powderiness, but most of the time it' simple sweet rose scent, with great sillage and normal longetivity. On me it's nice and feminine, but definately not safe for blind buy.

Alas this is another one of those perfumes that my skin simply sucked up, leaving nothing or almost nothing to be smelled. On clothing it’s still extremely weak but at least there were notes to be recognized. Roses and tangerines are all I could distinguish. The rose is soft like TF Rose Prick but infinitely weaker. All in all, this is definitely not one I like and feel full bottle worthy. Edit. It certainly smell much better towards the end.

The name does not suit it! I received a sample as a gift, and was absolutely sure that it is a floral delicate fragrance with a pink sound. I was even specially waiting for spring to test it. It is difficult to describe my surprise when I realized that the fragrance is dedicated to the ROSE!!! and only to rose. It same direction with Rose Tonnere or Radical Rose. A burgundy rose bush, framed in saffron on a leather base. Goood

This is a really complex one for me. When you smell it from the bottle, it smells like one of those sugary alcoholic drinks in a pleasant way, super bright and refreshing with a bit of zing. Then when you spray it, in the funniest way it smells like gummy bears for a bit then dries to a not so subtle but pleasant rose and leather combo. Not really sure how or what or when to wear this for but it's nice nevertheless.

Truly a beautiful scent I dont really get any leather but I do get lots of rose, tangerine and saffron Its quite a unique rose scent to me It gives clean, put-together and sexy at the same time. My brother says it smells like rose cakes lol edit: this scent fills the room! I was wearing this and my family came home and said they could smell it as soon as they walked in the door This should be called Big Fleur

Byredo has perfected minimalism as a brand, and both their packaging and fragrances are spare and straightforward. This fragrance is an interesting combination of a vintage-style rose with the airy, antiseptic feeling that saffron gives. While I'm sure the goal was to modernize the classic potpourri rose, I'm not sure that it really lands. Citrus, rose, leather, saffron - the combination has countless iterations, and many are truly excellent, but this just misses the mark a bit. The opening was a juicy and fresh citrus/rose and was quite nice, but the saffron and leather really do make it smell more like an office scent than a personal fragrance. The rose is absolutely beautiful - I love an old fashioned rose and this doesn't disappoint, with a huge almost neon bright accord. Though very different fragrances, the rose in this reminds me of La Fille de Berlin by Serge Lutens, but where that rose is made velvety and sophisticated, this rose has no support from the other notes. Perhaps the discordant feeling is intentional, as it's supposed to be the fragrance of teenage angst - as a piece of art it is intriguing, but this isn't something I'd love wearing. I'm glad that there are some out there who love this fragrance, as I definitely think it is quirky and interesting, something I certainly wouldn't say about many of Byredo's other offerings. For sure worth sampling.

Lil Fleur is described by Byredo as "an interpretation of promise and potential, audaciousness and sincerity" personifying a "young spirit." But I don't get youthful spirit from this scent, I get mature (not vintage) and self-assured. I sense potential in its opening, so I wait, and wait, and wait. For the sharpness to dissipate, and it does. But that's about it. I don't get evolution or audaciousness. I get linear and safe. It's a pleasant scent, and in that, it's sincere. But it's pleasant enough to be overlooked. On my skin, it's namely green, cool-sweet, and clean. I think it's lovely. Not a want or a need for me personally, but it's pleasant.

Super sharp rose and leather, I get a lot of saffron in the opening giving it a clean almost plastic feel. The leather kinda does remind me of a furniture store like a brand new couch type of leather and becomes more prominent over time, one of the stronger Byredos that actually lasts more than a couple hours. Idk where the animalic part comes from I don’t get anything like that it smells almost too clean. Overall not bad at all pretty unique despite sounding kinda basic and makes me feel nauseous

I wanted to like this so much and make it my signature, but it just wasn't for me. I don't usually go for rosy scents; I prefer citrus, herbal; florals that have peony, violet, jasmine, lily. Have yet to find a Byredo scent that wows me. This would be lovely on the right person. I think the leather note makes it a little to heavy for me.

Although the fragrance description seems very ambiguous, I believe Byredo managed to convey the intended mood well into this perfume. All ingredients sing loudly at the same time, taking attention from optimistic tangerine to moody rose and back. It opens with a floral-fruity lemonade; cassis and tangerine are bright and cheerful. After a very short while you can smell the rose comes in with her downs. This is not an approachable rose - it is waltzing on the border between Montale Black Aoud medicinal notes and Hermes Galop leathery nuances. Then it remains medicinical rose in tangerine - black currant marmalade. I miss vanilla and ambergris. Phase 2 of this is Galop wrapped in cassis. Cassis is the best thing in this fragrance, if it was more of it and less of sharp rose, it would be more pleasant and balanced IMO. I would describe it as a lemonady-rose Galop with sharp edges. It’s not delicate and feels very unrounded, unfinished if you please. It has screechy acidity which does not feel right to me. You have to get on well with rose-saffron combo to blind-buy it. Scent: 6.5/10 Silage: 8/10 Projection 9/10 Leans feminine but it wouldn’t be completely awkward to be worn by a male.

This blooms boldly. I sprayed at a distance, but it hit my nose long before I actually raised my hand to meet it. I also went in blind to this, and unfortunately, the first thing that emerged from the noise was a rose made from leather, sitting on a dishwashing-liquid (or possibly detergent?) base. Leather doesn't tend to work on me, so that was strike one, but the detergent was strikes two-and-three-and- out . It appears to have some mixed reviews, so possibly skin chemistry is a factor here, but on me it's a scrubber - there's something too artificially saccharine about it, like a smile that's just a little too wide to be real.

I don't know why, but in the opening, this gives me preserved lemon? Not in a good way. There's something old about it. Either way, very much not for me. It opens with a very plasticky smell, which never really goes away. The rose is quite beautiful and deep, but unfortunately it's sealed in plastic, like those crappy bookmarks we'd make in grade school. There are so many better rose perfumes out there (Roses Greedy!), this one doesn't even hold a candle to them.

this opens with cassis, citrus, saffron and leather. after awhile i get the rose and woody notes. the leather is soft at first but then gets quite strong and then the scent gets kind of bitter. this isn't a realistic rose to me. the leather in this gets so smoky it gives me a slight headache. it's alright, but i think somehow the combination of notes is doing weird things on my skin...would likely be better on someone else.

Opened super plastic-like. It smelled like one of those plastic baby doll's head but the dolls clothes has been soaked with fruit punch. As it dried it turned into lemon lysol with a hint of rose and settled finally into a musky vanilla skin scent which was the most pleasant phase of this fragrance. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it either.

Smells like sunflowers by elizabeth arden layered with some rose, leather. The resemblance is uncanny. I use sunflowers as a bathroom air freshener so the association there doesn't work great for me. There's definitely a tinge of piss in here. But I don't think that's all my imagination, the cassis is quite sharp. Gives me a headache

I got a sample of this at Nordstrom and at first I quite liked it; it gives off a berry rose jam-like scent that's really nice to smell in small doses. When I tried it on for a long wear run, tho, I couldn't really stand it; it was really cloying and heavy from the rose and leather, and it gives me a headache.

I’m very picky about rose. Sometimes, it’s beautiful and truly captures the delicacy of the flower itself. Other times it’s been dialed unnaturally up to 11 — and that is unfortunately the case here. My nose interprets Lil Fleur’s magnified rose as more like urine than a flower.

Lil Fleur projects with dynamic rosy opening combined with a leathery touch. It has a rough synthetic feel during its first few minutes like a chewing gum, then moves back towards the rose accord. The composition feels a bit unpolished and hairy, which might be the goal of it.

Smells like going through your wealthy aunt's purse: worn leather, musty silk lining, lipstick, and a perfumed handkerchief. Rose often comes across as too mature/vintage to me and this is one of those cases. Ironic that it's meant to be inspired by teen angst.

Chemical strawberry + rose, and I get the leather in the dry down. Very uncomforting scent.. and childish. Dry down is particularly not appealing.

I really don’t get the bad reviews. To me this is a different and interesting scent. I am a rose lover but has never liked leather or animalic accords before, it’s a first for me. I think this is very versatile and would wear it both to a crisp white t-shirt with jeans and a dress. Mostly a fall, winter and spring scent though. A STRONG like, maby even a love! EDIT: after a couple of hours I started feeling nauseous. At first I didn’t understand what it was, just thought I was hungry. But then I took a big sniff on my arm and was a second from throwing up. My god, it was the perfume 😭 after that I just counted the minutes til I could go home and take a loooooong shower to get it all of (which was not easy, both protection and longivety is enormous) This could absolutely just be that the chemistry between my skin and the perfume just clashes, which makes me sad cos the first hours was amazing! Hope somebody els can enjoy this (with another body chemistry then me).

I usually like Byredo's compositions, but I physically can't handle this perfume. It starts off as a spicy rose scent at first which I do enjoy, but then this horribly cloying artificial sweetness takes over everything and it's so strong that it wafts from my wrists any time I move them. The combination of this note (is it the cassis perhaps?) combines with the leather dry down to become a mix of a strong plastic/detergent smell that makes me take shallow breaths just so I can escape it. Points for projection and longevity here, even if it was my own worst enemy. I don't tap out when it comes to trying fragrances, but I almost washed this off my wrists and I genuinely never want to spray it around me again for fear of nausea. This is tragic because I usually love most rose perfumes. Rose of No Man's Land and Rose Noir are much better roses in the line-up.

I'm losing hope that Byredo will make anything I actually want to wear on my body. Granted, I've never smelled anything quite like this, so the Byredo team is really nailing originality, lol . . . on first burst, this is sweet, then it dries down and you realize there is rose, but it's odd rose--plastic, or suede--some kind of synthetic back note. But then, musk, something off-putting and vile, but oddly citrus, and the entire effect feels like someone walked over to a piano and mashed the keyboard and then spritzed it with lemon. Scrubber for me. Note: Someone below said this smells like an expensive furniture store and I laughed and laughed at this. That reviewer wins for best comment, lol

This is a very disgusting fragrance, the fruity accord is so overbearing, dominated the whole scent, which the fruity accord is overly sweet and it smells like a very Byredo DNA plastic-y sweet!! It makes me wanna vomit everytime, among all the fruity leathery scent this is the worse. Comparison with Hermes Galop, I can see the similarities between this two fragrance, I was so afriad to try it again since people voted they smell similar,I tried Galop yesterday which is so different! It smells much more rounded and more comfortablez the plastic-y sweet fruity accord didn't dominated the whole fragrance which I appreciate. So much better than Byredo

One of the most underwhelming releases this year. This smells like something that Valentino/Trussardi/Liu Jo all repeatedly released before. Seriously cheap smelling, edc concentration at max. Put all the colored caps you want on it trying to sell this as exclusive at Selfridges... Insides will remain garbage.

A bumpy, synthetic ride from the sharp opening into the nauseating dry down. Hands down and a salute to anyone who is able to pull this off, on me it’s a migraine. It’s extremely rare that I push the hate button, but Lil Fleur feels like an experiment that went badly. Or possibly someone’s idea of a joke.
