Pulp

I can’t help it but this is one of my absolute favourite fragrances of all time... it’s weird, cool, different but still beautiful and quite unique and one of the fragrances that I get the most compliments for when I wear it, so I guess it mixes well with my skin. To me this is the perfect mix of fruits, green and sweetness with still an interesting twist. And even though this may seem linear to some there is so much to discover under the surface of this amazing and unusual blend. It is the kind of scent that if you let it brings up images of memories of good times and enchanted moments and feels for me for some reason ultra real and naturalistic which may be connected to typical scent profiles connected to where I am from. Now Byredo is a Swedish brand and I am Swedish and the fruitiness in here sort of reminds me always of the fruits and berries you can get here in the northern parts of Europe. For some reason this always reminds me of super ripe plums that taste so sweet and burst of juicyness. Also standing out is the black currant that together with the sweetness creates the experience of a black currant ice cold sherbet... But I also totally get the sweet red apple and the less sweet but fresh fig and in the background some freshly ground cardamom and at the bottom soft cedar wood to give it a bit of structure. This to me is a scent I can totally wear any time of year. It is amazing at a winter party to make you feel cool and seductive. And equally perfect a warm summer night when also the tiare and peach blossom comes more to life in the composition. And for some reason it also works for snuggling up by the fireplace in fall when you do not for once want to smell like spicy bakery but rather of ripe dark sweet fruits with a twist of green freshness attached to it and keeping the cardamom spices a bit more constrained. Or you sip on a fruity rooibos tea. But still want to feel sexy enough to entice your partner... There is absolutely something sensual and sexy about this fragrance to me and I guess perhaps that is part of why this can become polarising for some as the ripeness of the fruits in this composition is decadent in the sense that they can feel on the verge of getting overly ripe which in a way invokes almost an animalic sense of human skin that is quite a turn on to me... Now I have used several bottles of this fragrance but still have one that is from when this scent was released and I treasure that as a well ageing wine... The formula has changed a tiny bit over the years. Not so much when it comes to the scent, but when it comes to its performance. My oldest bottle is beast mode hands down. It has a longevity that lasts for days even on skin. The newer ones hang on for at least 12+ hours. So it’s still good! And it radiates well enough to fill a smaller room. And you will get noticed with this fragrance as it smells like nothing else. And that is awesome to me in a time when most things are on repeat... This is one of a kind. And in a great way. It is however not as you can tell from the reviews here a safe blind buy. You need to try this out. And you need to be interested in a different take on fruits and sweetness and not be afraid of the somewhat raw sensual aspects of it, if that makes sense. It is in no way a shy perfume. And I think some may even find it a bit cloying and headache inducing. I do not however, but can find some fragrances that do, so I imagine some may experience that with this too so I do recommend trying it out on your skin. But to me this is almost perfectly balanced but still edgy. I think it is hard to suggest similar fragrance to this, that is how unique it really is and most of the suggested fragrances reminding of Pulp here do not come close to Pulp but rather just hints of aspects that can perhaps can be found in it. If i am to suggest something similar all i can think of is I am Trash from Etat Libre de Orange but only for the first hour or so before I am Trash begins to change where Pulp remains offering all of its facets throughout the wear time. I am Trash is therefor a very toned down and shy iteration but still moving perhaps somewhat within the same area as Pulp at least in the beginning. But when the berries and fruity aspects of I am Trash dissipates rather quickly it changes into a much more generic sweet spicy dry down that no longer make these fragrances no longer comparable and I am Trash does not have either the projection nor the longevity of Pulp. But from a composition point of view it is still the closest I have found to Pulp. My love affair with Pulp has been going on since it first came in 2008 and it’s been 15 years now... Hardly any fragrances is my collection has been so truly loved for that long... But I just never grow tired of this bold beautifully life adoring juicy Pulp... It’s stolen a piece of my heart and has no desire to let it go... ❣️

Pulp has been on my radar for a long time, but I was a little apprehensive that it might prove to have more artistic merit than wearable merit. What I refer to as "shelf art" because it sits on the shelf as interesting art to show as an almost museum piece curiosity rather than get pulled down to actually wear. But I am surprised how wearable Pulp is. Now it IS artistic. It has a very photorealistic melange of tart n sweet fruit. And highly concentrated pulpy ripe fruit at that. Maybe over ripe. With enough of the green facets to remind you that they are, after all, complex plants. Some have alluded to the over ripe quality as being like fruit thrown in the garbage, and I can see that. But it never goes to the extent of putridity. It's not rotten fruit. It's the smell of overripe fruit, and that is a critical difference. Overripe fruit will smell really sweet. A rotten fruit will smell nasty, sour, or similar to vinegar. This indicates that the fruit has started to ferment. Pulp is just complex, pulpy, overripe fruit. The last fragrance that had a similar character to my nose was the classic Diorella by Dior, and I like that one too. And the sweet tartness of Pulp screams. I can understand the polarizing nature of Pulp, given the screaming tartness and photorealistic complexity, with a just-short-of putrid fruit accord. It's almost cloying, but it wins me over. It's highly concentrated fruitiness, almost like a highly saturated color. So like the statement "that's the redest red I've ever seen", Pulp is the fruitiest fruit I've ever smelled. Addictive. It seems to give me an acute dopamine rush the way benzene in gasoline does 😂. Pulp would go well with a purple shirt or jacket because the ripe fruity melange conjures the image of the color purple in my mind. Update: wearing it again tonight and each time I wear it it grows on me even more. It's gone from a "like" (4/5) to a "love" (5/5) now.

When I first started looking into BYREDO fragrances this was the first one that caught my attention. I tried looking for somewhere to buy a sample but to my despair I read about it being discontinued. Still, I was lucky; A couple months later I was headed to Göteborg and was able to smell it, and buy a bottle. None of my friends really liked it, and commented on the same thing as a lot of other reviewers are writing about. The unbearable sourness, and overwhelming moldy berry-note. To my nose, this is sour, sweet, and fresh but with a tart top note. The blackcurrant is very dominant initially, but it is more like a thick sirup-y smoothie. Not as a cheap juvenile shampoo as some have mentioned. I realize I don’t really understand what people mean when they have reviewed this as «loud» «pungent» and «rotten fruit». Yes, it is tart, but that is how blackcurrant smell? This is straight up just like that, but with a hint of sweetness just like those kinds of berries sorely need. The citrus zing is the perfect addition to this. In the initial drydown I get a lot of red apple and white flower, all the tart zingy-ness have disappeared from the fragrance and I am left with the sweet and floral notes. I am not getting any fig whatsoever, which is a bit sad, because I love fig notes. The fragrance feels very female leaning, with its light floral and fruity notes, but I wouldn’t bat an eye if I came across someone masculine leaning wearing this as well. It is also very long lasting for a fruity fragrance, and I am really happy that I have a bottle of this one in my collection.

I had to make an account on here just to talk about this perfume because I love it so much. I love fragrances that have bergamot as a primary note so I might be biased, but oh my god is this the best smelling scent I’ve ever owned. It’s incredibly juicy and sweet, green and rich, and it makes me weak in the knees with how sensual it is. It really does smell like fruit that’s on the precipice of being mushy and inedible; every time I smell it I feel like I’m eating overripe, much-too-sweet fruit in the summer sun, and the juices are so poignant and sticky that I worry I’ll attract bugs. I was nervous when I got it that it might be off-putting or sickly sweet from other reviews I read, but it’s just the right amount of green and bright for me that I’ve become absolutely enamored with it. I will say I wish it lasted longer; even with preparation on my skin the scent only lasts an hour or so. I’m hoping that will differ in warmer seasons as it’s late fall where I am right now—I can really imagine this scent radiating much more in humidity. The price point is a little too steep for me to commit to a full sized bottle, but I might just have to in the future, because this fragrance is juicy, sensual, and absolutely delicious.

This scent is so comforting. I adore the tart, slightly sour fruit; it's like a hot mixed berry and apple pie on the window ledge near the fruit trees where the fruit was taken. Figs lie on the ground, smashed a little and fermenting with the sun's warmth. It really lasts on my skin and even longer on my clothes. I spray it four times, and sometimes, I layer it with citrus, too. The cardamom is lovely and not overwhelming, and it is a spice I love, and it is just the perfect amount not to distract or steal the show. The longevity is good. The silage is about a foot at first, and the dry down is so warm and cosy for a few hours. It's a gourmand without vanilla, but the chocolate is there if you look for it. I always want this on my shelf. It stands alone in the fruity genre for not being too juvenile; it's a more sophisticated fruit fragrance, but anyone can wear it, and all year round, too. It is great to play with in layering, too. I wish they made a body lotion for this. I'm wearing it today with Mandarin Basilic from Guerlain. It is lovely, and it deserves over 4 points here.

I really don’t actually know what to expect from this scent because I have seen so many different opinions on this fragrance. I liked that it was controversial and had to try it for myself! At first spray there is a quite tart fruity smell that smells like orange rinds that are a little old like sitting out for a little bit after peeling them. I don’t really get a “rotten” smell however. It is mixed with some sort of tart fruit like black currant and some light floral notes. As it dries down I really get more of the juicy sweet apple but it is not sweet at all in a sugary way. I wouldn’t really classify this as a gourmand. It is an interesting fragrance because it smells like a “clean” perfume that is straight up in its scent and doesn’t really transform a lot, but it is one that causes people a lot of strong opinions. I get a sophisticated tart fruity smell that I think is one people have to sit and think about before committing to a full bottle. I appreciate that it is a unique fruity scent that is not a straight up sugary fruit.

This fragrance has got me in a MOOD y'all! I smell the cannabis, too, like some of you've said. But it works on me. It's a little bohemian, a little posh, never serious. The middle notes are so fruity, but not green at all - macerated, a little muddled - with a lovely light floral wafting through. Base notes are cedar and cannabis. It's late summer, I'm 12, eating a juicy peach on the deck of Aunt Denise's house, late afternoon. I'm reading a good book, in one of her Adirondack chairs and I can hear her laughing inside with some girfriends who stopped by. She never had kids of her own, so she sorta shared me with my mom. The smell of weed creeps out the screen door, the laughing is sincere and joyous. A bumblebee buzzes around the peach pit I left on the arm of the chair and a light breeze circulates the scent of sun-drenched dahlias and tiger lillies through the yard. I know I have to go home soon for dinner, but this moment is lazy and lovely. I miss her tremendously and wearing Pulp feels like one of her generous hugs.

Pulp was sort of my signature in spring and summer some years ago. Back in 2018-2020. I absolutely love it. This is for a bold person that does not mind to stand out. I do not care what others think of my perfume, I wear it for myself. Pulp is a smoothie of super ripe fruits. Fig, apple, citrus, mango, pineapple, frangipani flowers on a base of cedar. It’s a more daring sibling to Byredo Bal d’Afrique and Super Cedar. Combine those 2, add some fig and steroids and you get Pulp. There is nothing like this, it’s a scent out of this world. Started wearing it in 2016 and over the years I have had 4 bottles and it has not changed or been reformulated. It is one of the 5 first original Byredo scents from 2006. Very strong and potent for the first 2-3 hours and then slightly more tamed but lasts a good 10-12 hours. BUT now it’s being discontinued. I am so sad to see this go. Just bought 2, the last 100ml + 50ml bottle from Byredo Stockholm store. Get one if you dare while it’s still available at some few retailers.

There's nothing else in the world like this. I Love it so! I can understand why some people are frightened that others might think you smell like borderline rotten fruit (while you're standing there salivating in your tarty-fruit stank)... But it's so worth the risk. The whole thing has such a tart, sharp, icy, juicy edge that no-one's first thought is going to be "she sat on some old, over-ripe fruit..." It's just KABLAM! - "Tarty/refreshingly unique! That girl is so exciting and interesting!... Perhaps she enjoys a fruit smoothie in the morning, I must ask her for the recipe." In any case, let the haters wear their Baccarat Rouges and their Black Opiums, and they can all smell like each other and each other's mothers. You, my dear, are Brave. Enjoy your fruity stank. You've earned it. If you love D&G Light Blue then you'll probably appreciate this too. It's nothing like the other monotoned frags by Byredo, so don't ignore it just because this frag house tends to be bland, over-hyped nothingness.

Pulp is what I wanted Eden by Cacharel to smell like--or at least what I imagined Eden would smell like...before I actually smelled it. This one took me about three wears to finally embrace. Interesting that some reviewers smell "rotten fruit." (Hello, Eden). That's partly what I love about perfume, in general--each scent works differently with everyone's skin and chemistry. My skin doesn't pull rotten fruit on this one--I end up with a bright, very juicy, peak of ripeness fruit scent that leans more on the melon side--specifically honeydew and cantaloupe. It sits crystal clear on my skin. It's a wonderful summer scent for me and does VERY well in the heat and humidity. It's linear to my nose--what you get at first spray is what you get on dry down--but I love it anyway. It's a sweet perfume for people who don't care for more synthetic saccharine sweet scents. I love it, but definitely not a safe blind buy because it seems to perform so differently on everyone.

On paper (figuratively) this is everything I usually hate in a perfume. Fruit, tiare, jarring notes, chocolate with fruit. The initial spray in store onto card gave me a HEEELL no reaction, but then it insinuated itself into my every thought for days on end. I got hold of a sample and wore it to go for a long walk in a huge park during summer, and it was incredíble. I used the sample up over the next couple of days. Now I have a full bottle, and after a couple of months I was hesitant, fearing I might hate it, but no, it's amazing. As everyone says, it's on the line between ripe and putrid, but that's exactly why it works. It's what saves it from being a teenage, frivolous cheapie. It's unlike anything else, and alongside M/Mink is the only thing worth bothering with from Byredo. Be warned, this is hands down the strongest perfume I've ever worn, even more than some of those Bisch monstrosities, so exercise caution or spend a couple of days regretting it.

I believe this fragrance is one you need to test before buying. I immediately loved the scent. A little like a sour apple and blackcurrant tart. It is a nose burier, and I love that. It stays well on my skin and lasts all day with that fruity tartness that I haven't smelled in another fragrance. I think this is an acquired taste, making it unique for me. It lasts 8 hours, and with four sprays, I know I will buy a larger bottle eventually. I love blackcurrant, and if PDM Meliora was the sweet blond baby sister, Pulp is the big sister with Wednesday Addams vibes. I LOVE it, and many people who smelled my wrist on testing this with Mohave Gypsy and Bal D Afrique all said after a few hours it was the only one they could still smell and that they enjoyed it more on the dry down mixed with my skin. So it needs a little time. Try it for yourself if you like sweet and sour fruitiness.

Pulp is an atomic blast of ALL THE THINGS! It's a chaotic, glorious, frenetic mash of fruits. Real fruit at that, sour and piquant, no sugary-sweet candy fruit to be found. Unrelenting, unforgiving and surprisingly aggressive for something based entirely around fruit. Pulp is brash, bold and brassy. Fairly linear, late in the drydown it gets a little woodier and dryer. For the most part however, what you smell in the opening is what you're going to be smelling for the next six hours. Sillage is almost Montale-style atomic, if it doesn't sit well on you it'll give you a headache in about 45 seconds. Longevity is a good 6 hours as a projection-beast fruitpocalypse, with another 3-4 hours as a glowing skin-scent. Certainly not everyone's 'bag o' fruit', but if you can handle the wild beast that is Pulp, she'll reward you beyond expectation.

I don’t understand how some people, especially women, don’t like this or can’t appreciate this for what it is. I think it’s such a vibrant and exotic fruity musky fragrance and not just that. It’s so mysterious and arousing to my senses. It’s absolutely intoxicating. And yes, I’m a man who can appreciate feminine-leaning fragrances. I smelled almost all of the byredo fragrances at their store in soho and don’t get me wrong they’re all amazing but this one really stood out to me as the most interesting one. It doesn’t smell like rotten fruit at all. Go get your nose checked if you think this. Rather it smells like the mashed up pulp of ripe exotic fruits and some spices. This is so unique and thought-provoking. I love wearing this one and sometimes layer it with molecule 01 to make it even better. Enough with the hate on this one!

This one is one of my favorite Byredo perfumes! I was not very into this perfume after smelling it on the blotter, but I fell in love after trying it on myself! It's such a magical explosion of the most beautiful ripped sweet juicy fruits! It's loud, it's confident, it's inviting, and a very uplifting scent! At first, because it is so loud and strong I thought I couldn't wear it in the heat, but let me tell you... This is amazing in the heat, during very sunny days, during hot summer evenings. It's like wearing the summer on yourself. Very beautiful! I am so happy to have this beauty in my collection, it makes me feel so nice and people definitely notice me because of this strong but also alluring sillage and I am just amazed at how unique it feels. The sillage and longevity are great! Couldn't ask more from this scent.

Like the name, this scent smells just like ripened fruit pulp. This is a fruity green scent and I'd say more aromatic than what is listed. I think people have a misconception about fruity notes as they forget not all fruits are sickeningly sweet and some can, unfortunately, be rotting even. I wouldn't say this smells like rotting fruit -- the smell here is more like fruit that is a tad overly ripe but still edible. I quite like this scent profile and so does my partner. My partner says it smells like you are peeling a ripe orange while sitting in the orange grove and I kind of agree. Yes, you will not get an orange note but that's the vibe if that makes sense. This is not blind-buy safe, so head to your local department store to give this one a sniff. This is not for everyone as you can see from the reviews.

By the time this arrived, I had forgotten what it was supposed to smell like and based on the name, I was expecting a woody scent. When i sniffed the bottle, I got a strong fruity smell, which was pleasant. But once on my skin....WHOA. It transformed into this gorgeous green woody/floral/fruit scent. I get so many compliments when I wear it! It’s an uplifting, happy, fresh, clean smell...almost soapy at some points but in the best possible way. And it’s even better now that it’s getting close to summer. The warmer temps seem to bring out some of the more pleasant fruity notes. I can see why this scent wouldn’t appeal some people as it’s elements definitely don’t show up singularly. It’s a mishmash of fabulous notes that somehow just works. One of my absolute pick-me-up favorites.

Love at first spray! Its like a sitting in a field of flowers, on a warm summer's day, with a bowl of chilled summer fruits and a glass of cool rooh afsa in hand. Lounging in a comfortable chair whilst leafing the pages of a book. It smells absolutely divine. Like no perfume I've ever smelt before. Its fruity, but not in a rotten way. Its refreshing without an abundance on citrus notes that catch the back of the throat. Its sweet without being saccharine. That combination of plum, praline, and apple cut through with the cardamom and cedar is just so genius. Its like being in a heavenly forest - a Garden of Eden. I'm just so obsessed and will absolutely be dropping the money for a FB once this decant is finished. Maybe I've finally found my signature scent as well???

I sprayed this again today after not having used my bottle in quite a while and it reminded me of the first time I discovered this fragrance. It was one of the first Byredo I had ever tested back in 2021 and it stood out to me as the best from their offering. And I strongly believe that it still is! There’s nothing quite like this. The most juicy, beautiful and slightly spiced basked of fruit. It’s so luxurious. If they made a room spray like this I’d want my house to smell like this during the autumn. I’m holding onto my 50ml bottle for dear life and will use this super sparingly! What an absolute shame that they discontinued this. I cannot believe some people think it smells like rotten fruit. It absolutely does not!!!!!! A 10/10 masterpiece!!!

I don't ge why this fragrance is so polarizing?! It's a sweet fresh fruity perfume that should fit a large public but for some reason a lot of people seems to really hate it. On me it's beautiful, a perfect fresh sweet everyday fragrance. It feels like it is the same with Santal 33 from Le Labo, some people get very weird notes popping up and for some it's just pure magic. Anyway, Pulp has a very strong grapefruit note on me (maybe it's the bergamot?) which makes it very fresh but it also has a lot of sweetness without being a gourmand. I get the apple cider that someone said, but i think it's nice. This is my first scent from Byredo, i didn't want any of the most popular ones because i'm extra like that so Pulp was a perfect choice for me.

I get straight up organic freshly squeezed orange juice (maybe blood orange?) at the beginning, hence the name pulp. You can smell the faintest amount of blossom in it as well. Then softer green and cedar notes come into play. I’m not really getting the notes listed. It’s pleasant but I don’t think anyone would want to wear it unless it was the perfect spring or summer day. It does feel very photorealistic though. So if you’re looking for a quality orange citrus green sent, that’s kind of strong and has decent projection then this one might be for you. *update: I adore it now. It’s not for everyone. But it gives me what what I want from a citrus fragrance. It’s juicy overly ripe and smells addicting. I made this into my summer fragrance.

Definitely one of those "popular for good reason" fragrances. Keeping in mind that this was released in 2008... I don't know what to say. In 2008, I don't think I'd ever smelled a fragrance that so perfectly captured the texture, and smell, of a piece of fruit. Yeah, Fragrantica says there's praline... meh, not really. This is all about biting into a crisp apple. The fig is definitely there, it's just not the main focus in my opinion. It's there in a way that seems to surround the apple. This is going to sound insane, but the fragrance also captures height and depth, in the shortness of putting your nose to your wrist. The fig seems to levitate around your nose, while the crisp apple sits on your wrist. Insane. I love it.

The name is very fitting. From the start we are greeted with very sweet and tart black currant-fig-apple combo. It's energizing and the notes are easily distinguishable, smells almost like multivitamin fruit juice. In the heart the hyper sweet tiare start to intensify and even though I feel like it's unisex scent it is undeniably feminine leaning thanks to this tropical white flower. It gives a lot of creaminess and reminisce of body lotions for women. The fragrance doesn't change much and the fruits+tiare are the main players throughout the longevity. This is an addicting fruity scent, for the lovers of black currant and fig it's a "must smell". Sadly discontinued, but I am going to hoard as many used bottles as I can.

this is the most intoxicating fruit you'll ever smell. it's a mix of ripped and green tangy fruits with a spicy undertone. it gives me boozy fruit punch vibes. on my skin, it turns into the most beautiful and tooth aching sweetest scent ever. it got great sillage and pretty good longevity, about 6 hours on my skin before it turns into a musky skin scent. now i have to put this here, this is NOT a safe blind buy, even if you are a fan of fruity scents. i had to come back to nordstrom several times, and each time i would always spray it on my wrist to the point that i was sure that i would enjoy this in the long run, and i was so happy it turned beautifully on me each time.

This is a true masterpiece of a fruity fragrance. Forget your generic body sprays and juvenile shampooey smells that we might associate with fruits. This is a gem amongst that category and one you won't be sorry you smelled. Pulp conjures up colors of vibrant reds, pinks, deep purples - the juicy and mushy insides of sweet fruits almost too ripe to eat, but perfect to make delectable deserts out of. Jammy. Thick. The juice that stains your fingers after you've just taken a bite. It's a bowl of refreshing ripe fruit on a hot summer day that you're eating out on the porch swing while the sprinkler waters your garden in the yard. Pure, sticky, syrupy bliss. 9/10

When I first smelled my sample, I immediately fell in love with it. I came to read the reviews and it surprised me how polarizing this is. I found it inoffensive, but really unique and clean at the same time. I almost have conspiracy theories about this, like it's some scientific experiment similar to the "what color is the dress" picture or the "laural or yanny" sound. :D I'm just kidding, but it's seriously seems more than just taste, it's like some people are watching a completely different movie. I sprayed it on my mom's wrist and she said a loud "YUCK" and scrubbed it off later. She said it smelled like rotten fruits and it was disgusting.

OH MY GOD fist off, I get fig. This scent is what opened the door of fig to me, it is just such a gorgeous note. I wish there were more! As it dries down though, on me, it is a soft fruity scent. It is such a decadent fragrance that is somehow jammy and delicious and fresh at the same time. I don't know why it's taken me so long to share my thoughts on one of my most loved fragrances. Ever since I got my nose on this from a tiny tester, I had to have it. I was immediately saving to get my grimy little hands on a full size bottle, but I was lucky enough to have it gifted to me. This is one that will have to constantly be in my collection.

By far one of the most polarizing scents I've encountered in my opinion. Many people say it smells rotten like overripe rotting figs. At first scent I found it so incredibly sharp and piercing I got an instant headache but found myself constantly coming back to it for more. It's a bit of a hard hitter so I apply this a bit more lightly compared to other fragrances but to me it smells like a piercing juicy green fig. Very bright and sharp but clean and elevated, not an office scent but I find it cuts through the cold air so beautifully, I have yet to find a fragrance that cuts through the cold just as well. My favorite winter signature.

The opening reminds me of an upscale smoothie store. Fresh and ripe pulverized fruit, a shot of wheatgrass. I do get a green *pulp*iness, I imagine it's what the employees smell when they clean the pulp out of the juicing machine. All that macerated fruit fiber. It's very evocative but not 100% photorealistic - this all is floating on some very soft and feminine basenotes. Fresh laundry and a bit of white flowers. There's some citrus rind in there too. This scent is amazing to me, it's little hard for me to understand why people find it polarizing because I don't pick up on much that's offensive. Maybe it's the overt greenness.

I have read some reviews where Pulp was compared to Un Jardin En Mediterranee by Hermes, I know Mediterranee very well, so I disagree🙃 To my nose Pulp is more similar to Un Jardin sur le Toit, however they have only one note in common which is Apple. I have Toit so after testing Pulp I was like it reminds me something that I know so freaking well, when I was back home I have started to smell my perfumes one by one and bang! Toit, I found your fruity sister🥰! They have some similarities but Toit is definitely not a dupe for Pulp! I think whoever loves Pulp will appreciate Toit and vice versa. 🔄

I absolutely love the top notes that are so uniquely picquant and just enjoy the journey the fragrance takes me to a warm, sophisticated yet light scent, over the hours. Wonderful for work/office. The top notes are IDENTICAL to Beauty Pie’s Infusion De Cassis, that was included in the 2023 limited insider edition of their scent lab. Unfortunately it wasn’t popular enough with the general customer to make into a general release. But, it forced me to start my research into similar scents and my Fragrantica addiction. Love it. And now excited to discover other fig and black current perfumes.

Yum! I'm getting the ripest, juiciest, most gorgeous blood orange. Skin, flesh, pulp and all. I know blood orange isn't listed as a note, but maybe it's the black currant, fig and bergamot mix? Who knows. I find it delicious. I don't see how this could smell like "rotten" fruit in any way. Over ripe? Maybe slightly. Rotten? Absolutely not. To me, there's a gorgeous balance between sour and sweet that's making it quite refreshing. Definitely lasts better on my clothes compared to on my skin but I'd say I get about 8 hrs which I think is quite good for this type of scent.

I put off trying Pulp because of all the reviews likening it to rotten fruit. I was expecting something overripe, maybe cloyingly sweet in the way fruit gets when it's starting to turn. But on me, Pulp is fresh, almost green, and juicy. It's quite bitter at first, conjuring every part of the fruit, including cores, seeds and skins. I get a lot of fig, red apple peels and the pith of a citrus fruit. It gets sweeter in the dry down. I agree with the reviewer below me and yet it totally works for me. I find it strangely enchanting and utterly addictive.

On my skin this starts right away with a juicy, ripe, pulpy fruity smell that, to my nose kind of smell like ripe peaches, I don’t get the apple or the fig. It’s kind of linear with good projection for about an hour and lasts about 12 hours on my skin. I can totally see how people can get rotten fruit , but to me this is fruity, heavy, elegant and as far as seasons and times of the day, I find it to be very versatile and I get a lot of compliments. I guess it’s also a matter of skin chemistry, for which I strongly advise to sample first.

This smells like a fig and blackcurrant kombucha in the best way possible. It’s tart, sweet, slightly creamy, and a little boozy. Pungent, yet smooth and comforting at the same time. Like overripe fruits teetering on the edge of rot. A beautiful juxtaposition of life and death. @invisiblestories on TikTok describes it best: it smells like the last days of summer when there’s a slight chill in the air, like how when you feel most alive is also when you feel most mortal, like how every still life is also a memento mori.

Have you ever played the addicting game 'Fruit Ninja'? Imagine what the dojo floor smells like after all the fruit slicing carnage is over with. Just a massacre of guava, apples, lime, passionfruit, mango, and a ton of other tropical fruit. All their juices combining chaotically and oh so beautifully. This isn't Fruit Ninja the way my daughter plays it, hitting every other fruit but missing most, this is when I play and yes, I'm a 4th degree black belt in Kendo (look it up). Superlative, I may have to get this one.

I only heard bad things about this fragrance, but I decided to try it anyway and I'm so glad I did. I love it. It's a fruity scent with an edge. I get a lot of fig, red currant and cardamom. To my synaesthesia, this is a dark red fragrance which is kind of rare. I'm going to go against the current here and say that this is a fall and winter fruit fragrance, and I say that because of the apple and cardamom, and how rich and warm it is. Very unique, very delicious, and I'm going to enjoy wearing it this winter.

Like you have just torn apart the ripe orange fruit plucked from a tree in a jungle on an alien planet. The scent is powerful and familiar, but it isn't anything that grows on Earth. I have memories of being a kid and sitting under a mango tree, eating the fruit until I was bursting. While Pulp doesn't smell at all like mangos, it gives me that kind of carefree, tropical, gluttonous vibe. Sweet and sticky and indulgent. Warm and worry-free. It is an absolute pleasure to inhale.

This was a love-at-first-sniff for me. Not knowing the notes at the time, I thought: what is this almost overly ripped fruit that smells sweet and juicy and tart? Well, I knew I Ioved blackcurrant but fig was not on my radar. After experiencing other fig fragrances, I realized I love it too. To me, it is the combination of both accords, blackcurrant and fig, that make Pulp such an irresistible smell. Also, this one has to be worn in the heat to get the most out of it.

This is what niche perfumery is all about. Not copy of a copy. But original stuff. This is not for everybody. But I have sniffed this for years in stores. But found a deal, to good. So bought it. Real sweet, big, pulpy. A lot off apple and black currant in the opening, with a lot of tropical fruit in the background. So good! Last a long time and you will not smell like nobody else. But this is not a signature scent. I need to be in the mood for this.!

One of my favorite spring throug fall perfumes! Its woody, creamy, milky, fun, sweet and savory, unique and bold. I get mostly fig now in the early fall, but in different weather conditions it can come across more as an woody apple or even creamy woody floral. I love wearing it when I work in the garden or go for walks in nature, because it shows its vegetal green side in those circumstances, but its appropriate for almost any occasion in my opinion.

Very strong and juicy fragrance and was my signature till I emptied the bottle in 2021. I wore it mostly during spring and autumn as I think it’s a bit too heavy for warm summer weather but too fresh and fruity for the winter cold. As some people describe it and I totally agree on- it does smell like an overripe fruit, very sweet scent but it got that citrusy sourness from the bergamot with a hint of the sweet red apple and the green from fig.

who doesn't want to smell like a perfectly ripe almost rotten fruit, or a still life painting?? this is so perfect and so addictive and just unique and delectable. if i could smell like the human personification of an overripe fruit for a cheaper price tag oh trust me i would. i'm in love. this is a biblical scent. so untraditional and it actually lasts all day. if i win the lottery i won't tell anyone but there will be signs...

Kingdom for Pulp Byredo! I'm crazy about Pulp. I've never meet scent so natural of overripped fruits. It's not a perfume, it's a SCENT. Actually I can't find proper words to describe my enthusiasm how much I adore Pulp! I tested it several times and waiting for next testing I'd love it less, but no, love continues tremendouslyl Only own a decant but one day I'll put my loving hands on a bottle. Have I told you, I adore it, lol?

It’s truly gorgeous. Smells like realistic mashed up fruit with heavy citrus. There’s something a little feminine about it that doesn’t make it a home run for me. But if you want a LOUD fruity citrus...this is worth trying. For all the negative reviews. I’m kindof shocked. There’s nothing “rancid of repulsive” going on here. But it’s definitely different than the mainstream scents out there. (Which is a good thing)

Literally smells like the name! Like a reviewer below stated, it smells like the seeds of a fruit! So realistically fruity and eye rolling good. I know bergamot is the citrus note, but to my nose it smells closer to a ruby red pulpy grapefruit or pomelo. There’s a rich decadent quality, probably due to the praline note. Also a spiciness that rounds out the scent. It’s truly a masterpiece that is so aptly named.

Finally, a fig fragrance with a good hit of juicy, fruity flesh. The fruits are not rotten but certainly ripe. Birds are flocking to have a taste. There’s just enough raw greenness in there to stop it from heading into syrupy territory. It’s youthful, yet seductively alluring, with a witchy, forbidden fruit quality. I imagine the Evil Queen from Snow White would wear this as her signature.

@inenell Maybe online exclusives are offered only in 100 ml bottles? Its been in stock for a while. Same for the other online exclusive M/Mink. I bet the Pulp comes back heavily reformulated again (Already my 2010 is very different than my 2020 bottle - the banned muguet materials are much more pronounced in 2010 bottle), but I'm sure it smells heavenly as always.

I absolutely loved it. It is incredibly intense, tangy, sour and so vivid! It's very wet and very naturalistic. I agree that there are heavy rotten notes but they are making this fragrance way more realistic. I love the "fermentation" effect of this fragrance. This is one of my top 3 byredos, together with the mojave ghost and gypsy water!
