Green Butterfly

I'm getting a fb of this asap the chocolate 🍫 &iris is a very good combo ,makes this feel fuzzy like a powdery white pastry&black brewed hot warm tea&warm fruit in a mystical garden with magical 🦋 butterflies, mysterious, warm&sweet,it smells like a warmer sweeter version of (naughty alice by Vivienne Westwood) discontinued btw,except naughty alice is less sweet,more fresh&green 🦋 butterfly is warmer,sweeter if that makes sense? This sample I'm glad I tried&I have to save up to buy fb!!!!! Lasts well&produces a nice cloud also♡

Very powdery but lovely . I personally love the smell of baby powder which I kinda get in this fragrance . I do also get this sweet ,plastic doll head scent but I actually love it, It feels vintage in a nostalgic way. It also evokes fresh and green with the aldehydes and florals which are very light. Overall it’s a beautiful fragrance . I imagine this is what a woodland elf to smell like lol so ethereal and magical Longevity : 10/10 Projection : 7/10

This smells a bit vintage to me. Must be the iris and aldehydes. It's very pleasant but, as others have said, rather soapy overall. I'm not getting chocolate, but sometimes it's difficult to detect all notes from a dabber sample. A strong like. Edit: I'm now getting the chocolate note buried in the musk and just ordered a full bottle because I can't stop smelling this. 😄

I like this a lot. I do not find it to be retro at all. I smell soft sweet powder, dark chocolate, vanilla, a hint of woodiness, a hint of florals. All come together to be soft and pleasant. This perfume does not scream, yet I can catch whiffs of it throughout ware like a transparent cloud. I regret not buying a bottle. I hope Byron will bring this back.

I'm old and this reminds me of my childhood in the 1970s. I can't put my finger on it. The aldehydes, yes - but it's something more than that. It smells like bright, sunny summer days. Maybe it's the smell of a certain toy? Is there anyone else my age who recognizes this?

Soapy opening, but not in an overly sharp way. While can’t clearly make out the chocolate I think it helps soften the Iris. Pretty but if I’m being honest I think the name is more appealing than the scent. I like the dry down a lot I will say.

Unfortunately, this is a no for me as I know I am not picking up the correct notes. To my nose and as it wears on my skin, a vintage, plastic doll smell is coming through. It is ever so slightly sweet but a definite plastic doll smell. It is also the same way Epic smells to me which is another perfume that I have trouble smelling what others do. I have a handful of perfumes that just don't work and this sadly will be added to that list. I would recommend to try it, before you buy it.

I‘ve been wearing this trying to love it. It’s a very powdery, Aldehydic, soapy fragrance on my skin. Longevity is nice and sillage is decent. Not very unique to me. I see the appeal, but it’s just too baby powder on me.

Sweet, powdery floral with a vintage vibe, as someone previously mentioned. Had to wash it off after 30 minutes, it was that unpleasant.

I don't really get most of the reviews here, so I'll add my own. To me this is not a green scent. I get it, bottle and name both suggest it is. It isn't. As a lover of really-green-unsweet-adstringent scents I sort this as - tadaaaa: a leather scent. With lots of Vanilla and Iris, so Powder, yes, Baby Powder: no. If you get that you probably did not test long enough. The leather really gets loud after 1-2 hours, so do not overspray or regret it later. The opening is comparatively fresh, with the citrus and the neroli to balance the sweetness and the dryness of the Iris. You can find the chocolate if you search for it, but I just call it Vanilla from start to finish. The leather coming forward is still not shockingly harsh, it is more like suede, but to me it is heart and centre of the fragrance - and I love it! (Unless I oversprayed, like I said, then I get a headache. So 1 spray is usually enough for me. This is a potent perfume.) I really like the "perfumy feel" of the whole thing, what some might call vintage vibes, some complexity. Even though you have those seemingly gourmand ingredients it is not edible at all. The sweetness is of a kind that I can bear easily - astonishing, since most perfumes are way too sweet for me. The iris is not too dense or dry, the leather not cruel but soft. You can discover a lot in those hours you wear it, and still recognise it throughout the day. So it might not be for all the sugar-craving sweet-thooths among you, nor for the green-nature-loving treehuggers. But it definitely is a perfume for me!

Very disappointed in Green Butterfly by Byron. On my skin and with my nose, I smell baby powder/baby lotion. I know that's the iris. I might catch a very small bit of the white musk and maybe the suede. None of the other notes mentioned come through for me. It seems very linear without any evolution or depth to it. I do like the smell of iris, but it needs some support from other olfactory characters. I was waiting for the sandalwood and/or patch to make an entrance. In the dry down, the powdery smell almost has a dusty (not musky or musty) scent/feel in my nose, like 50s dime store "dusting" powder or makeup setting powder. I'm glad I got a sample of this and didn't do a blind buy of $310. I find that it leans more feminine and is a skin scent. I suggest that this might be a nice summer fragrance if you want something simple and can afford the price. Not an awful fragrance, just terribly disappointing.
