La French

Surprised at the negative reviews, this dries down to a creamy sandalwood sweetened up by vanilla.

Surprised I like this, not much of a powdery white musk person. My first thought smelling this was "Oh, thats a nice pillow smell", and I think it holds. Its clean but doesnt smell completely fresh, Like someone has spent a lazy morning in bed and now the sun's rays are resting upon their pillow. Biggest notes for me are Almonds (if you know, De La Rosa mazapan), Musk and Orris, and then the Sandalwood. The fruits are just that, fruits. Like when you get a dried fruit platter and you can't tell one from another, but if blindfolded would still point and say "That's fruit." On my skin the note doesnt last long. It really reminds me of something the women in my life wore around me growing up, so that likely sways things. But I'd say this is a bit too sweet (like almonds) for people who prefer masuline perfumes.

La French opens with powder and citrus. The mix of citrus and fruits in the opening does have a bit of a fresh cologne vibe, but it goes away within minutes. What is left after is a soft, fluffy, woody loose powder with a little bit of almonds and thin layer of white powdery sugary frosting. Pretty nice, if you are into soft powdery scents, but nothing ground breaking.
