Mula Mula Double Caramel

Oh I adore this! It's a fun elevated modern warm edgy fruitchouli. Owning this and the OG is redundant. Blindbought this after testing the OG and reading reviews of both on here. I trusted my guts and it was well worth it! The original leans fruitier and less sweet since it's not as heavy on the caramel. All in all, they are very similar. If choosing, just pick according to if you want it to be sweeter or not. Both are so perfectly balanced. Love at first sniffs! The juicy sweet red berries and fruits in DC goes so well with the vanilla and caramel. There's some soft delicate oud and gentle patchouli there that makes sure it doesn't go juvenile or body-splashy. Also I'm not sure, but there's something in there that reminds me of anis ever so slightly in the beginning of the wear. Quality and performance is phenomenal. Stays on for minimum 1.5 day. This creation is not for the faint of heart. One of my top 10 favorite perfumes of all time to date.

I blind purchased, as it was a limited edition, and I already knew that I love the original. I sprayed each one on each arm. I find that the original is more fruit forward and the double caramel sweeter. My original Mula Mula is over a year old and has had time to macerate a bit. I have only owned the double caramel for about a month so I don't know if the molecules are all settled. However, I have been lovedrunk on this flanker ever since receiving it and I have been wearing it almost every day. It's been cold here on Long Island. Not sure if most would find this time of year appropriate time for wear, but I feel Happy & Delicious when I wear it, and I wear my fragrances for me. ;)

Mula Mula double caramel is 90% close to the original, but with stronger notes of not only caramel, but also peach. The oud remains quiet to my nose, although it's listed as a base note. Lucky for me, I also can't detect a lot of patchouli. Sillage and longevity are also great. Do you need both Mula Mula's ? probably not. Will i be purchasing this flanker? yes. lol .. Mula Mula is THAT GIRL for the cooler months.

a sweet fruit medley with an air of vanilla and a caramel drizzle over everything. double caramel is fitting as the caramel is very strong but it blends beautifully with a ripe peach and fresh strawberries!! the oud is fairly quiet but it does add a bit of a woody/smoky depth that keeps this from becoming cloying. The amber here also adds a warm touch. genuinely a beautifully blended scent!

I love this - fruits and sweet caramel, with a touch of oud. It is not edible, a bit similar to La Capitale but brighter and sweeter. Addictive and fun. Anyone selling in UK?

I have not tried the OG,only its dupe Kashaf which by all accounts is a good one. These are fairly similar, this one for me opens up a little hairsprayish, whereas Kashaf opens up a little furniture polishy. Neither are unbearable in the opening but they're also not my favourite. Both however have a great drydown - the Summer fruits in syrup and the longlasting scent of a windswept English Summers day on your clothes. It just reminds me of that particular odour you get in your hair and on your clothes after being outdoors all day in the summertime. Sort of shampooey, sort of sticky like you spilled some strawberry juice from a well marinated fruit salad, sort of earthy like you sat on the grass, kind of warm but also kind of airy and breezy. Both last a long time and I really appreciate them but I am trying to purchase only scents I love from start to finish, not have to wait for a harsher opening to dissipate. In truth, Kashaf opens up better for me - I've had it for a year now and it has got smoother ( and costs buttons in comparison). Next step, try the OG and La Capitale to see how they are throughout wear because I really like the fragrance once it sits on skin a while. Wish it was instant. This one is not a super gourmand caramel fragrance but its definitely a little sweeter than Kashaf. A strong like.

I don't know what to think about this perfume. Every time I wear it I have a hard time smelling it after 15-20 minutes. When I can initially smell it I get a spicy, (likely the ginger) slightly fruity, sweet, Oud scent for maybe 30 minutes after spraying, and then it just seems to disappear. And I don't believe I'm going nose blind to it, but it's possible. I've also tried wearing it many different way. (eg. on skin, clothing, in my long hair close to my face) But no matter what I try I can't smell it long enough to enjoy it. It's such a shame because when I can smell it, it's really nice. And the patchouli and oud give a nice balance so that it isn't overly sweet. That being said, going in I did expect to get more caramel based on how people voted on the notes listed. So I would warn that this isn't a sugary sweet or creamy perfume. The ginger and Oud especially are definitely noticeable, so if you're someone who doesn't like those notes, you might want to pass. (For me the ratio of caramel and sweet fruits vs the Oud, ginger and patchouli is about 50/50.). While it's a nice scent, it's just not even worth wearing due to my inability to smell it.

In the same family as La Capitale, but this is way better IMO. Very fruity sweet but not too cloying. More peachy than strawberry, leather is definitely present. Even though it is called Double Caramel, I do not feel an overdose of caramel, which is a good thing for me. Also reminds me A LOT of Dolce Melodia. Definitely a beast, will garner compliments I am sure. A crowd pleasing one, more so than La Capitale, which I had and subsequently decluttered. Now I am curious about the original Mula Mula.... Edit: I changed my mind. It does get cloying after a while, but it lasts easily over 8 hours

Layer Navitus Midnight Mischief + Double caramel = I smell INSANELY GOOD! The scent bubble is intoxicating, a sexy soft rose drizzled with caramel with juicy berries. SEXY! Been 5 hrs already and the scent bubble is live & kickinggg!

I could see the vision for this fragrance, and I know those who like them sweet enough to cause toothaches will probably love this, but it was just too much caramel going on and drowning everything. What's worse is that it isn't realistic caramel, it's perfume caramel, which nobody wants to eat. I swear I can also still detect the patchouli although it doesn't seem to be highly voted in the pyramid. My skin amplifies patchouli no matter how many other notes are listed, if it's there it will make itself known on my skin no matter what. In a perfume like this, what I think happened is that the extra piled on caramel note drowns everything lighter in the original composition, and the patchouli is the only strong enough note remaining to stand out. They really weren't lying when they said "double caramel". They took it to a point where they probably should've stopped and said nah, let's double it. Perhaps a single caramel would've sufficed. In this double scoop it is a bit too much, and unfortunately I'm not looking to host a caramel + patchouli bitch fight on my skin. I have Flowerbomb, I have Viva La Juicy Gold, and yes I even have Bonbon. The first two I listed are superior patchoulis and caramels. While Bonbon is a regrettable purchase, it's undeniably similar to whatever is going on here, with the added benefit of being lower in price. Smell that one first before buying this if you never got around to it.

Without a doubt, Mula Mula Double Caramel is very oud-centric. This smelled nothing like the 'dessert-like' scent as several on Tiktok would say, but then again, everyone smells and enjoys differently. It's very earthy, with no detectable sweetness like strawberries or caramel to lighten it up much. The best way I could describe this smell is just sticky. Not sticky like a sticky pudding or sticky toffee, just sticky like smog and humidity. I'm not a fan of oud unless it's a very minor accord, which is definitely my fault for not paying attention to the kind this fragrance has, but I nonetheless don't like it at all. If you're expecting a gourmand or something similar to one, Mula Mula's enticing name and notes will disappoint.

Meh, a bit sharp for me. It's like all the notes are fighting for the spotlight, rather than blend and layer. Smells like a basic designer perfume to me, sort of like Good Girl or something. I understand everyone perceives fragrances differently, but I'd say it's not a safe blind buy if you're hoping for a niche gourmand. The Laotian oud is at the heart of it, so I'd say go for it if you like that note more than the edible name.

Totally agree with Aland2020. This is not your edible caramel, rather very synthetic caramel-wanna-be scent that you can expect from Nest, for example. What should've been a perfect caramel scent and safe blind buy, turned out to be a very scratchy scent. As a great option for a sophisticated gourmand instead of this, I would recommend Teisenddu Frassai - it's not caramel, but everything you smell there seems real and edible.

Not a gourmand fragrance as the notes would imply, this is a middle eastern style masculine scent. .

Blind-bought the Mula Mula Double Caramel because my Mula Mula original was almost done at the time, now finished. I had it on my wishlist to repurchase, but thought I might as well get the flanker with more caramel because more caramel was never a bad thing. I felt like it’s a safe purchase since I love the original and I guessed the caramel would last longer even until the smoky oud-musk dry-down...and I was right. The caramel is sweeter, staying longer until the end. There is also more of it smothering the oud and even the strawberry I got more of in the original, which added character. I still get a sweet ginger in both. None of the Mula Mulas have a toffee caramel smell. It’s more of when the sugar is liquid and sticky but has not browned yet, with strawberry hard candy and a slightly smoky oud. Having both, if the bottles are full, is not necessary and I’m not sure which one I like more but I go back and forth. This one is more smoother and feminine with softer projection, because of the caramel and smaller oud dose. It has gotten warmer as it has sat, balanced still with the subtle strawberry note. Peach and patchouli are notes I never picked up in either, which is good for what the Mula Mulas are going for. I just wish what I smelled directly from the nozzle is what happened on my skin. The original has more of a loud punch, but both fade away around 5 hours on me.

Shares 5 of the same notes as La Capitale so no wonder they smell so similar. This gem has patch and oud, raspberry and vanilla, while La Capitale has leather, labdanum, and rose and none of the other notes I listed for MULA MULA DC. They're both on the pricey side so I say get a sample of both. This might be a bit more gourmand than LC, but they are both caramel strawberry fragrances with a similar thick and airy quality. I had both and it's rather redundant to have both. I don't really detect the oud in this, but I know oud goes very well with gourmand notes. Oud 07 smelled divine when I first got it but continued to develop to a massive beast that could not be tamed and is almost unwearable to me now. This is a soft oud hidden by the caramel, vanilla, and fruit notes.

Caramel and tart fruits, as the description says, but this is not for those of us that are sensitive to that musky base that’s in Erba Pura, Kirke and many contemporary middle eastern fragrances. It is “beast-mode” and long-lasting.
