Mula Mula Rouge Extrême

#874 in my "Tour de Fragrance" God, I really love this juice, but it may be too girly for me to get away with. This smells a lot like JPG "Scandal by Night" to me. I know one 19 year old that wears that and she smells like a strawberry parfait every time she hugs me. For women who like this you'll probably also like Gritti "Gossip Night" (a scent I'd expect on someone of high school age), Byredo "Black Saffron." (I actually wear that Byredo occasionally). And for guys, if you like this vibe, try Mont Blanc "Individuel" (if you'll settle for an EDT), Tom Ford "Tuscan Leather" or Rasasi "La Yuqawan" if like me you demand an EDP for potency and you like a leather note. And of course Maison Alhambra has a Byredo "Black Saffron" dupe called "By Saffron" (not great quality) and a Tuscan Leather dupe called "Toscano Leather" (the raspberry is kind of synthetic smelling, so I'd spend the extra $20 for La Yuqawam).

Initially I get a melange of red fruits, raspberry and cherry mainly, with a deep dark caramel. The oud here isn't funky, it mainly seems to pull the caramel note deeper and darker. There's a faint mahogany smell I get from the oud as well. I love this one. It's straightforward, but one of the deepest, darkest cherry-themed fragrances i've smelled. Kind of makes me think of Rouge Smoking, but replace the cola note with caramel and dark mahogany. The wood note also makes me think of Black Phantom as it grows a bit more prominent in the drydown. There's a faint greenish herbal note from the patchouli and willowherb, barely noticeable. This is a fantastic cold weather fruity, woody, and gourmand fragrance. A shame it's a tad expensive.

This is the best cherry frag I have ever smelled. I’m absolutely intoxicated. It’s boozy and syrupy and sweet and I cannot stop sniffing my skin. So, so sexy and perfectly unisex. I like this way more than Mula Mula. This is seduction in a bottle. Really wish it was more affordable.

Patchouli, red fruits, and most prominent caramel. Addicting to smell on skin. I need to wear this tester more before I have more thoughts, but I’m so shocked at how the patchouli remains so well and beautifully blended while still being incredibly prominent.

This fragrance ticks all the boxes for me.....cherry, patchouli, caramel. Its girly, its sweet, its long lasting and it kicks up a little oud now & again. I reach for this one a lot and highly recommend it for those who love sweet fruity patchouli's.

A very sweet cherry oud. Cherry isn't dominating. They work together beautifully. The other notes listed get lost, but it is still very pretty.

This is gorgeous !! Cherry caramel with a non barnyard oud , Oud is very mild . This does not smell anything like Oud Bouquet IMO

I Love this smell, it is very smooth. I’ve Mula Mula as well but I like rouge better.

I blind bought this as a Christmas gift to myself. Based on the votes I expected to get more oud, especially in the drydown, but I find that the berries are the dominant player throughout. In this perfume the oud amps up the sweetness and ties the berries and caramel together, rather than stands out and takes control on its own. Skillful use of the note thereof if it was never intended for this to be extremely oud-dominant. Even after decently heavy spraying I am slightly disappointed by the sillage and longevity, given that this is supposedly an extrait de parfum. For me personally that isn't such a huge defect as I have so many perfumes but if this is your one and only, you might work through it quite quickly if you want a bomb sillage. A bigger ouch for me is that the feedback from my family was that it reminds them of a couple of designer fragrances... Not something I like to hear after splurging so much money on this baby. To my nose however it's different from the fragrances they mentioned, most of all in the quality and purity of the scent. Good for those days when you simply want to smell sweet and good but not too daring and niche, I guess! I received Oud for Greatness by Initio yesterday and tried layering this with it to enhance oud - a pretty good combination.

Rouge Extrême is my first experience with Mula Mula, which admittedly is a house I’ve not been too interested in trying. Upon first spray, it smelled like a cheap barnyard-y knock off of Halfeti, but this quickly disappeared. Initially it had an astringent alcoholic feel with a dense sour smokiness, but again this softened within 20 minutes, balancing out nicely with dry smoke, thick leather and a dark fruity sweetness trapped beneath. Once I gave it about at hour, it was rather nice, I didn’t hate it anymore. Usually I can’t stand strawberry perfumes, but this one isn’t so disgustingly potent and sickly, instead it feels more restrained and leans into the darkness in the base which is very much welcomed. I don’t love it, but it’s a good perfume.

As someone that is super sensitive to sandalwood and some oud, this isn’t for me. However, it is beautifully blended. It has the same feeling (fruity/woody/oud) as ‘Jasmin Wisp’ by Rasasi, but rather than a screeching mess, it’s sweet red fruits in a very woody base. Because of my own preference and skin chemistry, this is a massive no. But if this is your type of fragrance, even I can see it’s beauty and would encourage you to sample.

This a great one from Byron sweet caramel with a very heavy dose of berries. lasts a very long time on my skin in any season this is a true gourmand. Not sure what this is like over Mula Mula but wish they done this in 100ml. A great house all with great longevity and projection(I Have the Chronic and Black Dragon)worth the money.IMO.

Fresh, sweet red fruit with a subtle spice. A lovely gourmand that lasts all day and the base keeps it from becoming too juvenile in my opinion. I imagine a princess wearing this for her Coronation Ceremony, one foot still in her socialite past and the other finding it’s spot on the throne.

Nagyon szexi, piros gyümölcsös, édes, csíkhúzós, tartós parfüm. Számomra egyértelműen női, bár unisex illat. A Mula Mula mellett a másik kedvenc parfümöm a Byron parfums-től. Egyedi, különleges. Az oud éppen csak érződik.

The opening is SPICY! hits you right in the face, I was not expecting that. I sort of regretted spraying it twice on my hand and for a moment I thought I had really fucked up. It mellowed down thankfully, but yeah I don't really get the fruits, it's not bad, it's just not for me. It's mediocre at best. It's also very mature, to mature for me, and not as gourmand as the notes say. So yeah, not for me.

I’m really disappointed by this one. The fruity notes and the sweetness of the caramel are only prominent in the opening of this fragrance before they’re overwhelmed by the heavy, woody base. There must be amber wood in here, which comes across a bit sharp. Sadly there’s nothing distinctive or special about this perfume.

I ordered a sample to test out of curiosity. It is a sweet cherry and caramel perfume with oud undertones. Smells juvenile and artificial, too young and sugary feeling for me - not my thing. It smells feminine, flirty and dare I say cheap - I think the profile echoes designer incarnations targeted at teenage and 20 something girls in the early 2000s. This is the kind of scent that made me believe for a while that I don’t like fruity perfumes. In fact I do, just not this kind! I think this is the way young boys with a lack of emotional maturity would love young women to smell, like sugary red fruits and toffee. 13 year old me probably would have loved to smell this way but not for the £££ price tag! The oud dry down is probably the nicest part of the wearing experience but it still smells like something I’ve smelled hundreds of times before!

The sandalwood is really nice, but too generic for my everyday.

I only have Andromeda’s Moon’s dupe of Mula Mula Rouge Extreme, never tried the real thing, but AM is known for being spot on if not better. I smell cherry play-doh and oud and patchouli. I don’t mind any of these notes, but the way they’re combining is not good. It smells old. Old and dusty, also sweet and fruity. Like... I don’t even know. I won’t be blind buying a bottle of the real thing. This review is just more a note to myself to get a very small (1mL-2mL) decant of the real thing. I smell its potential but I also feel self-conscious with it on, wondering if other people smell the strange old dusty cherry play-doh that I do. Somebody mentioned leather, now I can’t unsmell that. Thanks oud... lol.

Wow, that’s all I can say. I got a 5ml decant from a friend and I fell in love instantly with it. Everything about this is just perfection. Slightly sharp Oud, super jammy berries, sweet gooey caramel, and a slightly tropical vibe to my nose. This ones also an Extrait I think so it’s crazy strong. One spray was enough. This one also works pretty amazingly in the heat. The Oud goes goes off the skin gorgeously, the berries get even stronger, and the sweetness is intensified but not cloying. Million times better than the OG, and the OG is a 10/10 already. This is a must have for sure.

This has more of a feminine approach. There is no peach note anymore so the focus is really the berries. If you get caramel it's going to be more prominent in the drydown. This version is better suited for females The original mula mula is more potent and louder tho (sometimes that isn't a good thing)

Upon initial spray I was greeted by some kind of leathery note that I didn't quite like, but it evaporated over time, leaving candy-like strawberry sweetness on my skin. I think I prefer the original Mula mula, even though it lacks the depth of its extreme sister. It's simply easier to wear.

decadent indulgence...concentrated cherries, lush and vibrant, with the subtle sweetness of strawberries, all drenched in rich, velvety chocolate. It’s a deep, luscious sweetness Simply divine.

smells good. fruity - oudy but boring. if you like red fruits with oud (artificial), sexy safe scents this is for you. for something more niche and complex look somewhere else.

The oud/patchouli in here is strong at first, but kind of nice. It dries down though and the fruits come through nicely. I think i like the og better. This is night, OG is day

I rarely call a fragrance sexy but this one really is. It’s like an indulgent night out yet it still keeps a likeable mass appealing style so you can actually wear it out.
