Dolce Riso

This is a nice sweet and fresh scent. More suitable for females, definitely, although its marketed as unisex, I really don't think men will want to wear this. You smell the apple and sweet lime first. Soon it starts smelling like a rice pudding, a cold one though, not hot, because the lime keeps the fragrance as a whole in the 'cool' arena. I dont smell much pepper so dont let that put you off if you hate pepper. Its a lighthearted, easygoing scent. I find it like a refreshing take on gourmand, well suited to warmer weather.

Sweet rice and happiness is what I can say. It’s a happy perfume, opens with a citrusy cloud and settles with a sweetened rice pudding aroma. Skin scent. It is quite an original perfume as I have not come across any other similar one? I can recommend it as it is a safe blind buy if you’re into light, sweetened citrusy perfumes. Definitely unisex.

I think this one plays with an aroma that might be unique to people from certain European countries - cold rice pudding, which is definitely eaten in Italy, Spain, France and the German speaking countries as well as parts of Eastern Europe. It reminds me of my childhood, without being too cloyingly sweet, and can even be worn in summer.

The initial blast of citrus is quite sharp to my nose but this fades in a minute or two and the vanilla appears which reminds me of that in Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée. This version of lime-vanilla tandem could be a good alternative for those wanting to get Creed Sublime Vanille although id say the vanilla here isnt as yummy as that in Creeds. I should say my nose isnt as trained yet so i have no idea how the other notes play in this one. Projection is 3/10, so its an intimate scent. Overall this fragrance is quite simple, cozy, non-offensive, and probably appropriate for when youre just chilling out.

Subtle, interesting and cozy gourmand for the ones who prefer delicate scents. Milky rice paired with airy, soft vanilla and a crisp touch of lime. A bit Guerlain-ish.

My review is very similar to scorpiosheep's opinion, with the difference that Dolce Riso has been in my want list for more years and my current sample is smaller. It has nothing sweet, it's a very weird fragrance as it blends citrus, wheat and a bizzarre note I'm not familiar with (maybe artemisia). It doesn't give justice to its name at all, it's not a tribute to sweet rice, I don't really get the rice aroma, which I love and consider fantastic in some Kenzo fragrances. I don't even think is has a strong vanillic component, sorry but I just feel uncomfortable with it, I'm happy I tested it so I say to all those that might be interested in it, test before you buy it!

Initially thought this was floral, swinging between sweetness and some bitterness then getting more musky as it dried down. Comes off feminine, but not overtly. Tried it three times blind as I wasn't sure If I was liking it. The whole citrus to musky and sweet to a bit tart and annoying just barely moves it into sad face category for me. The musky side is too familiar and not characteristic enough. I guess I'd prefer three different fragrances with a more clear stance than this one that, while it has its moments, leaves me moving away, rather than closer in. It's longevity seems to max out at about 7ish hours, sitting rather close to the skin.

This is a weird one. I don't really get any sweetnes,vanilla or rice. Opens upp with sharp citrus and quickly turns to something bitter and musky and unpleasant. I am glad that i just have a sample! Definitely test before you buy it!

Calè setted a very high standard with their compositions (Mistero, Perludio D'Oriente, Fulgor, Assolo) but Dolce Riso is quite a disappointment. A fruity/citrusy opening turning into a sweeter and somehow scratchy woody/ambery drydown that's not so far from a bunch of fragrances from the Baldessarini's Del Mar serie. Nothing special and it definitely doesn't worth the price tag. Rating: 5/10

I got a sample of this since I like the note of rice in fragrances. Alas, I must say I was really disappointed with this one. It's a citrus blast with a bit of apple and a herbaceous touch (probably artemisia). It makes me think of old school men's cologne. It won't be for me I'm afraid.

This is a fresh vanilla-lime scent. A tiny bit on the sweeter side, but not too heavy. I would say unisex/Female.
