Ozio

Ozio by Cale Fragranze d’Autore is a musky, woody, and floral fragrance built around an intriguing blend of musk, black pepper, mastic, sandalwood, peony, and iris. Right from the start, Ozio sets itself apart from traditional musk perfumes by introducing uncommon accords like mignonette, mastic, and pepper, giving it a distinctive character. It wears as a deep, complex skin scent, offering an intimate experience rather than a loud projection. Although it does evolve subtly over time, the progression feels relatively linear to me. Ozio is very unique and crafted for a specific taste—certainly not a mass-pleaser—but it’s a fragrance that rewards those who appreciate something off the beaten path. Rating: 3.5/5

A soft, close to skin scent with enormous longevity! That's the thing I usually have noticed about all the scents from this range - they do appear very low in sillage, but stays on the skin for hours and more! As for "Ozio", you got to love mastic to even start enjoying the scent. The weird greenness shine all trough the composition and almost ozonic florals appear only to accompany the fresh greenness. It's almost like soaked grass that has already started to get that fermented vibe. A huge hit or miss. For me it didn't work, but it wasn't that I did not like it. I like my green scents less sharp and less weird, I like them safe (I rarely go for greens though).

Testing blind I found the opening a bit unpleasant as it had a strong alcohol or perfume pungent quality. A hint bitter, dry, but also unmistakably floral and possibly dated? IDK. Seeing the notes now helped as the mastic apparently has a turpentine element. While this does die down, the result is only mildly pleasant. I get a relatively middle of the road floral powdery scent with a hint of sweetness. Pleasant enough, yes - but not the most charismatic. Keeping in mind still better than similar mainstream fragrance which last half as long.

Peppery in start, gets herbal-ish in 2-3 minutes of opening. Mustardy hinna-ish notes in the heart. Overall long lasting low sillage scent.
