I haven't smelled the original BR 540 so I can't offer a comparison, but I can tell you that I absolutely adore this perfume. I first got it when I was just getting into perfumes, and it has stayed a staple in my collection ever since. It lasts a decent amount of time, especially if you spray it on your clothes. The projection is good, too, the only downside is that it's really easy to go noseblind to, which has also been said about the original. A very cheap, high quality perfume that I will definitely repurchase. (Side note, I don't know if it's just my bottle or it's a universal problem with this line but the atomiser is not the best, sometimes it feels like I have to get into a fistfight with it to get anything out of the bottle. Other times it works a dream, so I don't know what to make of it.)

I just purchased another 😘 this is the love of my life. ***after the maceration this perfume STRONG My sis smell some rum or pickles cherries 6 feet away. That's why she Hate it 🤣 but I can't help purchase another bottle 😍 More and more....

A very affordable (€6 at DM or Rossmann - don’t pay any more!) yet complex and interesting fragrance! Definitely get the resemblance to BR540 although I’m less familiar with it. It doesn’t quite have the depth or the ambrette to it, and opens very sweet but the saffron is just enough to make it more than just a floral amber perfume. Has pretty good projection too, doesn’t last that long but for such a cheap scent it’s not bad! Nice bottle to put on display too, I haven’t had any problems with my atomiser yet but we’ll see.

Now I dont know what Baccarat Rouge smells like but I do know this smells like a new car or some sorta Ikea furniture straight out of the box? Something in mint condition that isnt a living being but an object, an expensive one. This does smell kind of clean to me and not like something I would normally associate with “perfume.“ I feel like you can always wear this everywhere. I was surprised that this is listed as a feminine fragrance because everyone who smelled this on me said this is masculine and I would agree. My boyfriend actually did borrow this perfume all the time. This was my first serious perfume and this was probably the best pick. Men, please give this a try.
