CK One Summer 2017

Had it for over a week, and the added pepper/ginger notes make it a win for me. It opens with a lime fresh citrus, then settles into a creamy spicy fresh scent with a longevity that you don't usually get with CK One Summer flankers. The fragrance is going into my spring/summer rotation, and I'm really looking forward to the hot summer nights where I anticipate it being very lovely indeed.

After the opening this dries down really good... Very well balanced and the gulak wood is the chef's kiss

I purchased the 2017 edition of the ck One summer edition for myself but more so for my girlfriend. I wore it a few times before giving it to her formally since I have too many. I'll leave this in my collection because it is at her apartment. This is my longer form review after she has used it as well. I get a peppery unisex Ralph Lauren Polo Blue/Calvin Klein Eternity Aqua for Men with this. Lots of cucumber and pepper in this but not much else at all. That said, those are notes I do like. I think it is a bit better on women than men honestly, especially with the pricing. Women wear it bit better, especially my girlfriend. It is good while it lasts about 4/5 hours tops similar to most accounts of the modern Polo Blue and maybe CK Eternity Aqua for Men if you can't carry it. This is man or women and it is a light summer scent. If you want a more peppery take on Eternity Aqua (for Men) go with CK One Summer 2017 men. Ladies, go with this for a summer option that isn't overtly tropical or overly sweet. Other than the length, I think the main issue is the retail pricing. I got it for less than half of Kohl's $54USD for 100 ml and honestly, I wouldn't pay much more than $30USD for it. Now I think I've seen it in Ross now for a bit less. I say this as the CK One Summer scents often have similar box designs so I wasn't sure but my girlfriend thinks it was. Whatever CK One Summer scents I saw in Ross were $19.99 USD for 100 ml. So if this box design is what you see, get it for that price and don't think twice. Rating wise, I can't give it good for men, maybe 6.8 out of 10 for a bit common scent. Especially considering Calvin Klein has Eternity Aqua for men for a lower price. I do like it though. For women, I think a 7.5 is in order as to me it seems a bit more unique though not strong performing. It smells great on my girlfriend but just OK on me due to the obvious similar scents.

I work full time, 12 (more like 15+) hour shifts as an RN (registered nurse). I wear scents that smell clean, fresh, and feminine, but nothing too floral or sweet as it turns my patients’ stomachs. CK One Summer (‘17) is perfect for work. As it settles, it has that CK base of musk and a slight woody note, but in this version, it’s soft and blends nicely with the other notes to keep it fresh and summery. I never overdo it - just enough to smell clean. Longevity - I can still smell remnants of it at the end of my shifts. Sillage is not as long lasting but my patients comment on it when I’m close completing my assessments. They like it - none have ever shared it makes them nauseated as what I first wore when I started as a new grad and wore strong sweet florals. I think it because it’s close to what clean linens would smell like after they’ve been on the clothesline by a salty ocean. I can see this being a good one to spray on when it’s just skin-to-skin, right before an intimate moment, because it’s so clean but it’s got that wood-musk base. I’ll let you know if I ever find a date - lol - I think maybe I’m working too much but I digress 😁

This is already hitting the shelves at discount stores in the US. Picked up mine for $19.99 at Ross. Similar to the 2015 version, but not as syrupy sweet. I'm not getting the cucumber or "pepper trio" accord at all though. First spray actually reminded me more or Dior Homme Sport 2012. Big blast of citrus and what feels like ginger to me, but maybe that's the saffron and pepper. Thr Dior-ness fades away pretty quickly, leaving your skin smelling like a boat drink. That isn't necessarily a bad thing :) It's as non-offensive as all the others and slightly more versatile than previous years. If you can't find it at a heavy discount yet, give it 30 days or so. By July of last year, Kohl's had already marked down the 2016 version to about $13.

I got it this by my dear friend yesterday. Citrusy in a bottle :) It's fresh, casual everyday, summer scent. Main composition is citrus, lime and lemon, its linear and stays that way. The whole character of this fragrance is citrusy. You get very synthetic lemony lime vibe. Cucumber is not existent, maybe the first 2 minutes at the beginning, but than completely gone. There is not even a slight resemblance to Polo Blue or Eternity Aqua, None! I find it very, Very similar to Tommy Hilfiger Jeans for him. The longevity and sillage is medium to soft. I like it for everyday summer use and the bottle is great, sunny rays across.

Wow this is a perfect clone of Aventus, ok i was just kidding, they share no similarity whatsoever this one does not smell very strong, im not sure i like it, ck eternity summer was way better, but not to bad either, just cant feel anything fresh in this supposed to be summer scent, at least its different than the other ck summer flankers.

I don't understand all the hate. It's not a special scent but I like the way it smells on my wrist. Very fresh, a great inoffensive daytime fragrance.

Very manly, soft spicy scent, fresh, summery, relaxing. I like it but I prefer scents with a drop of sweetness.

This has a sharp opening that quickly vanishes and turns into a fresh cucumber smell with just a hint of spice from the pepper and ginger. I find that it's too masculine smelling on my skin, but it works much better on my mom so it is now in her dresser.

Yeah, I love my niche and high-end designer perfumers and generally have trouble finding designer scents that appeal to me these days...especially these citrus, aromatic, aquatics types. But damn I love the CK One Summer flankers because they are fun, cheap, bring a smile to my face, and a dumb reach on those hot Summer days. I buy the latest and greatest bottle each and every Summer. Sadly, 2017 is the ONLY CK One Summer flanker that I did not like. Basically, I detect sour cucumbers when this one hits my skin...no fun...no refreshing blasts of citrus, no aromatic or aquatic tones...just shame and stench. Sad, but true! In a nutshell, there are plenty of really great CK One Summer flankers out there...this isn't one of them. Cheers!

It makes me die of laughter. It seems to scream "cucumber" from all sides. Cucumber covering all other notes, maybe only the file manages to re-emerge. If it was a person, this scent would be just a clumsy clown that makes jokes and games with cucumbers (believe me, I'm bursting out laughing while I write it.) Where is the saffron? Where is the pepper? I do not know, but if something makes me laugh it's because I like it (its meaning but not the fragrance) then promoted but rejected.

I love Ck One and it's flankers, but this one smells very unpleasant on my skin. I just smell pepper and a little bit of cucumber. I like using unisex or even male fragrances, but due to the harsh pepper note I find this fragrance super masculine. The bottle looks awesome though and longevity is really good. I wanted to get rid of the smell and washed my wrist with soap and could still smell the pepper! I am looking forward to Ck One Summer 2018. Hopefully it is something coconutty!

Agreed. the bottle is pretty nice contrast with the blue & orange..but the scent itself, deff. not pleasing to the nose like previous years.. this has a smell reminiscent of cleaning products.. 2013 is still prob one of my favs

This one is really cloying and I bought it before I knew much about fragrances. It is very sweet with a peppery background which makes it very shallow. I paid way too much for it and will never wear it again.

Judging by the notes, I really thought I would love this. But it smells like a dentist's office to me. Weird.

My review differs a little from the previous reviews. I really like this perfume.... I find it more masculine than feminine even though it is unisex, on my skin (feminine) it has an evolution very similar to a "" male” and I have to say that I find it fantastic.... different from the usual perfumes I wear (sometimes too feminine). It gives me the sensation of a fresh, aromatic fougere aftershave.... I can't wait to let my husband try it to hear what he thinks, seen from a male perspective... I wear it to feel fresh and invigorated, as if I had just finished taking a shower, in short it makes me feel really good! I think I'll buy it again, I'll stock up on it, my androgynous side makes itself felt thanks to this delicious summer perfume, the only flaw if we want the duration, it doesn't last on me for more than 3-4 hours... too bad, it means that I will spray it several times throughout the day, its hint of lime pepper and maybe a light cucumber are wonderful as far as I'm concerned.

Meh, when did this line become so synthetic? I know, someone might say “since forever!” but it seems to me it used to be a kinder, friendlier synthetic. I still have some of 2011 left, and it smells as it’s supposed to, whereas in 2016, and now 2017, some harsh chemical dominates so completely as to make notes irrelevant. 2016 smelled 95% like window cleaner and 5% like juniper, and this one is the same, except the 5% is cucumber. Too bad, because it’s a lovely cucumber, and the bottle is gorgeous. Still, if you liked 2016 (and don’t hate cucumber), you might enjoy this one as well.

Forget any of the poor reviews on this cologne, to me, this is one of the best CK One colognes in a while. Its super fresh, and a great summer cologne. If I had to try and explain how this cologne smells, think Acqua Di Gio and Ck Crave.. If they had a baby, this is what it would smell like. Granted it's not the most potent cologne I own, but it out preforms some of the more expensive colognes I have too.. This frag really shines when it gets stuck in your clothes, and it stays there for at least for a couple of days. I've gotten tons of compliments with this one..

I have it and I have to say pepper notes are really strong. At the moment I can't truly appreciate this because it's freezing outside but I'm hopping that the sun will do wonders for this fragrance. Fingers crossed for refreshing notes and woody accord! Also, I say it's more on the masculine side, my boyfriend says it's feminine and that he wouldn't wear it. :) Anyway, I guess I just have to wait and see if this unisex creation has the power to counteract scorching summer sun...

The bottle looks alright and the notes look good, nothing initally that would make me turn my nose at it but then I see the note of cucumber. Cucumber was the note of the time back in the early to mid 2000s, with Aqua Eternity and Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. Hopefully this won't be a watered down clone of those two. This is a "summer" scent so I expect the emphasis to be on the top notes. Today is January 31st 2017 and the summer flankers are already here; I am not surprised.

I have 3 other CK One Summer editions and I always bought them blindly with high hopes for freshness. Every one of them was an uncomfortable sour citrus bomb. The other day I was at my local perfume store and I saw that the 2017 edition was out. I smelled it, but didn't hold any hopes. And surprise, this one actually smelled nice. I bought it and I hope my first impression was on the right track.

Tried this one at Macy's today. I'm not impressed with this one at all. The bottle is pretty but not as appealing as previous years. As far as the scent goes its very light, lemony, a tiny hint of pepper and best described as sweet glass cleaner. I loved last year's Ck one summer but this one I wouldn't recommend.

These types of perfumes are all great for countries that have long dry summers. Wear it here in the UK and you are likely to get a headache. This is what a wet and cool summer does to you. Wear it in Greece on the other hand and you ́ll feel revitalized, clean, sexy and ready to rock!

Sprayed this on in the Department Store walked into another store and 2 ladies working there both complemented me on my fragrance both asking what I was wearing. They said I smelled so fresh and clean. What more can I say but I totally agree. Fantastic for the summertime.

I quite like it, the most masculine of all editions I can think of, very strong in the cucumber department, fair longevity, not much sweetness, but nice.

This smells like my boyfriend who just got off his motorcycle in college. Outside. Ozonic is a perfect description of this. A HARD "no" from me.

Ohh, cucumber! I miss this perfume accord and I hope it will be good. Definitely want to try!

Don't understand the hate on this one? Year round CK banger,...I'd bathe in this if I could!

Looks like nothing new, Cucumber was also in the notes of the 2012 and 2013 versions
