CK One

My father's fragrance. He got a 200ml and after many, many years the bottle still has enough juice which I'm guessing is about 50ml or more to pass on to the next generation. It's old so the smell probably changed over the years so my review will be based from his bottle since we don't have a new one. (I don't think getting a new bottle would be worth it, CK All would be a better choice but honestly you would probably better off with Middle Eastern fragrances.) Now let's move on to the smell, it does smell dated compared to the fragrances we have nowadays but that doesn't mean it's bad. It's a classic, citrus-y (it's also has sweetness, to my nose.) and floral fragrance. The smell alone gives you a warm and cozy feeling and the best part is: anyone you could ever think of could pull this fragrance off. And, this is one of those fragrances which get better when you sweat! Great for school, office and fitness. About it's performance, again since the bottle I have is old and my father stored it in the bathroom which is very bad for your fragrances so for me, the longevity was bad. (No exact number but I'd say it wouldn't last for more than 3-4 hours.) Projection on the other hand was about the same, about moderate I'd say. (If someone were to stand close to you and your shoulders were touching.) for like an hour and a half. And sillage would be...alright I guess. Overall, just don't get a bottle of this one unless you really really want it, or it's a gift meant for someone. It's a safe blind buy in my opinion. There are many fragrances in it's price range that are much, much better.

This fragrance is a good example of what I can't stand about "the fragrance community". The stuff is great. I think it leans a little bit more feminine than masculine, but it's great. I find it to be so unique, even though it was put out so long ago, there isn't much smells like it today. Azzaro Chrome has a bit of that vibe, but that's really it. But if this ever actually gets mentioned any YouTube video, it basically gets trashed. They talk about how it was good at one time but it's been worn too much so now it sucks. Or they complain about reformulations. No. This, the stuff you can buy now, is good. No fragrance is worth hunting down to spend a fortune from some eBay seller in hopes of getting some old formulation. Today's CK One is good. And people complain about longevity. No this isn't some scent you have to scrub off or it'll be on you forever thing. And if you do that ridiculous "one spray behind each ear and one on each wrist, if you're feeling rebellious" nonsense, it'll only last a short period of time. But stop counting your freaking sprays. This idea that if I spray too much I'm gonna offend someone is crazy. No don't go spray on something heavy and immediately jump on an airplane. But sho does that? Who sprays on a scent am immediately gets into a crowd of people? Just wear it. It smells great. It smells different than other stuff people are wearing. And it lasts a decent amount of time IF YOU ACTUALLY WEAR IT

Rating: 9.0/10 CK One by Calvin Klein is a timeless classic, and the one that started it all for me. It’s more than just a fragrance; it’s a time capsule. One spray and I’m instantly transported back to high school: late nights watching infomercials for Pure Moods (the CD set not sold in stores), early mornings, and Nas’ “It Was Written” playing in the background as the soundtrack to my life. This was the scent that defined my high school years, and it’s hands-down the reason I fell in love with fragrances in the first place. While others were into Polo Blue, Clinique Happy, or Hugo Boss, I was all in on CK One and Cool Water. For years, CK One was my daily signature. Clean, citrusy, and effortlessly cool. It struck the perfect balance between fresh and noticeable, just a solid fragrance that always delivered. Even now, in 2025, it still holds up as a gold standard for everyday wear. I’ve owned more bottles of CK One than I can remember, and I always have a bottle on hand, including right now, in 2025. Wearing it today floods me with memories and reminds me why I started this fragrance journey. CK One isn’t just a scent, it’s my foundation. A classic. And for me, it will always be the one that started it all.

This was the first fragrance I smelled on someone and had to get for myself. It’s still my everyday scent and I love how it’s so clean and fresh but the citrus is still prominent enough to cut through the white floral and musky notes and remain refreshing. It’s an intimate scent, where the only people who really smell it are my friends and family when we hug or sit close to each other, but in that way it’s subconsciously become mine and I smell like that to them, which I don’t mind at all. It just works well on my skin. Only issue is that the scent barely lasts past 3-4h, maybe not even 2 hours in hot subtropical summer. It smells too good not to use though - maybe will opt for a different version next time

I love love love this scent... it’s so light and uplifting. It’s what I imagine those frutiger aero pictures to smell like. If you live in Hong Kong, it smells a bit like that boujee mall IFC, it also smells like a hotel lobby. It’s a beautiful unisex scent, so simple and clean for wearing anywhere. It’s something I love for after the pool or after a shower during the summer. Yes it dissipates so quickly but you do get a lot of product for the price, not to mention it’s always on discount, I got this for 110 HKD (~11 pounds). To increase the longevity for the scent I apply the Spanish cream/moisturiser Xhekpon on the areas I plan to spray, I find they have similar scents.

This is the scent of the 90s. Reminds me of honeysuckles. Spring in a bottle. Smells like life before Social Media and "influencers." Smells like life before the housing market crash in 2008. Smells like when kids actually played outside after school. NOT Dated- Nostalgic. NOT Cheap- Inexpensive/good value. A Niche company could bottled this juice, sell for $200 and people would buy it, because it is just that good. Its only weak point, is the fairly weak longevity, sillage and projection. But at least it isn't cloying. I will always have a bottle of this- it is just too easy, too pleasant, too calming, too refreshing to be without. A staple.

This is one of my favorite scents since I was a teen. It's actually the first actual bottle of perfume I ever bought besides cheap body sprays. It's very fresh and clean smelling. The citrus is very strong and the green tea keeps the green freshness going after the dry down. It's a very neutral scent that is unlikely to be too much or offensive smelling to many people. It can fade a little too quick, but it stays well on clothing. It's also quite affordable still. I got the 6.7oz refill bottle for $30 something a couple years ago and I've probably used less than a tenth of it.

You just can't go wrong with this. It is perfect for cold and warm seasons, specially warm seasons. I love it so much! It is definitely one of my favourite perfumes! However, I must say it doesnt stay long on the skin. It stays about 1-2 hours. I'd recommend it for a teenager or young person who goes to university. It is perfect for the everyday. It is not very daring nor too akward. It is just in the middle. It is a fragrance of people who don't want to be too arrogant but at the same time still want to be taken serious. Whenever I apply it, I get very happy and lively!

The fragrance equivalent of a clean white t-shirt and zero responsibilities. Pure 90’s nostalgia! CK One is history. Fresh citrus, green tea and soft musks created one of the cleanest and most universally wearable fragrances ever made. It perfectly captured that minimalist 90s aesthetic: effortless, casual and unisex before that became mainstream marketing language. Even today, it still smells refreshing and easygoing. The kind of fragrance that instantly transports you to a simpler era where the biggest concern in life was choosing the next MTV music video to watch.

It's still a hit today. My 18-year-old son smells fantastic when he wears this perfume. It has good longevity and projection. Great value for money in terms of quality. The success of this creation by Alberto Morillas had such a huge impact on the global market that, within a few years, people started to consider it generic. The first reason was that almost everyone had been using it since the mid-90s, and the second was the large number of imitations that appeared. Despite this, it has stood the test of time and here it is, better than ever. Enjoy!

Celebrating our 31 years together. Still iconic, simple and free spirited with a timeless cool factor. Batches of last 8 to 10 years are shining on my skin with dominant cottony musky tones and powdery iris. This is a part of the history, still reminiscent of the cool people of the 90s alongside with Paco Rabanne’s Paco, one of my mother’s signatures. So these two to me are very, very dear. I love wearing Morillas’ signature freshie approach on my skin and I also love seeing hints of One and Paco in today’s cool niche freshies.

Like others have noted I believe this fragrance has been underrated within the frag community, clearly as a consequence of it's success but also I believe like Azzaro Chrome it can be a little too gossamer and gentle, somewhat easy to overlook. It reminds me of Chrome but even better, I also get more than shades of Creed SMW, in fact it scratches that itch well enough I'm holding off my plans of getting a SMW clone(at least for now). A down to earth staple that everyone should consider.

The perfume I used in high school. I live in a hot city so I could use it in all seasons. I still have a bottle. I use it on summer vacations. It's a scent I like. It's clean and fresh, but it reminds me of a cologne. A phenomenal scent. It used to be a signature perfume, but now there are so many perfumes, the options have increased. Even though it's old, the memories are still fresh. If you live by the sea, you should definitely get a bottle!!!

Nostalgic & Outstanding. The notes work so well together and they really do uplift your mood when wearing this. It's an easy, no risk fragrance to grab when I want to smell good but use it in a casual way. Fresh, citrusy and soapy profile and one of my favourites. The only downside is that it barely lasts past 4 hours. So i find myself needing to reapply fully. Projection is intimate/arms length. Price point is good too. 9/10

Nostalgic. I wore this so much in high school. It was such a vibe back then, and to be honest, it still is. Every time I smell this I'm transported back to the 90s. Its got that 90s hairspray thing going on and I absolutely love it!! It's fresh, clean, 100% unisex, attractive, simple, but really hits the spot when you just want something cool and crisp on those hot summer nights. In one word: iconic

I love this perfume on my boyfriend(and myself)! At first it smells like a generic after shave:/ but after it dries down........SO GOOD. Such a clean smell, cotton-y with a perfect amount of citrus and florals.Soft,fresh,not too much. It's perfect if you want to smell nice for people close to you, very intimate. It sticks to the skin better than to clothes!

A lot of people think that it smells old or outdated... well I don’t basically at the opening quite sharp citruses too masculine at the opening But at the drydown i get the littlest flowers which makes it smells unisex but still masculine soo masculine If u want this fragrance but in a very feminine way uu neeeddd to try yellow diamond versace

I dont understand the CK1 hate? Its a fresh and clean scent that obviously doesn't last the longest, but im not sure what you expect from a cheaper perfume. Other than how long it lasts, i dont have any problems with this perfume. Its calming and refreshing, and sometimes thats all you need from a scent! Overall a beautiful and clean jasmine.

Such a clean fresh fragrance and such an iconic, classic 90s scent! I smell citrus and vaguely floral notes. It's def unisex, I can totally see either a man or a woman pulling this off. I'm kinda sad I just pulled this out today as summer is ending because it's such a perfect hot weather scent. Definitely cooling and refreshing to smell.

I found a bottle of this in the bathroom during my senior year of high-school. Needless to say I took it. It's such a refreshing scent, while not being too overpowering. It's been my daily wear ever since. When I showed my parents, they got flashbacks of when THEY were in high-school. A very pleasant, retro scent.

This is probably "best overall" scent in my collection. I just got it after years of wearing it long ago. And it works even better for me. Beautiful balanced scent between floral, powdery and citruses. Not intrusive. Long performance as for my body which is rare. Day or night. And very good price for this value.

I recently tried this again in-store for the first time in ages. For me it was actually quite strong and lasted well, especially for this type of fragrance. It does come across as a more unisex (and more floral) Azzaro Chrome (they aren't the exact same but could be siblings!) . Timeless.

This is exactly what my med school days in Sweden smelled like. When it first came out, it made me feel just like a girl from a CK jeans commercial. It’s always in my collection, even though the scent itself doesn’t wow me as much today. It’s like a time machine, and that’s why I love it.

Smells really nice fresh and citrusy at the opening, drying down into a pleasant floral scent. Perfect for daily wear, the gym, or after a shower. It’s unisex, budget-friendly, and works well as a grab-and-go fragrance. The only drawback is that it doesn’t last very long on my skin.

Lemony and fresh on the first spray. For me, the stronger citrus fades very quickly and leaves behind a “your-skin-but-better” smell. Clean and simple, like a linen blouse battered by wind and sun as it hangs on the clothesline. I love it so much, it’s a genuine classic to me.

This is absolutely beyond a shadow of a doubt the best example of a unisex fragrance. It's citrus. It is floral. It is feminine. It is masculine. It is sexy and clean. It's a little bit dirty. It's summertime. I love this because it doesn't smell the same on everyone.

I had this perfume before but I lost it, I bought the Esika You as their smells are very similar, and recently in a local antique store in the fragrance section there was this one! They definitely do smell similar, although I will try not to use a lot my new bottle.

a very blissful smelling fragrance. aromatic, but not cloying. the notes i pick up on most are the green tea, musk and citrus. it's a fresh, clean scent that isn't super generic. there's a reason Calvin Klein is still producing this classic 30 years later

A very light, fresh, tea-like smell. Suitable for both men and women. Despite smelling so unique, the longevity really gotten worse due to reformulation. Overspraying gets you around 3-4 hours but to be honest I love this smell, maybe due to nostalgia.

Genuinely the best (ephemeral) thing ever. It smells like the "frutiger aero" aesthetic: fresh, clean, white, did I say clean? and genuinely beautiful. I would really love an EDP or Parfum version because you smell like heaven but for 5 minutes.

I bought a 200ml bottle yesterday and I am wearing today, its clean, fresh and mass appalling, its cheap less than £30 in the UK and I love it.... JUST LOVE IT... the classic, simple... I dont get the bad reviews!

Uncomplicated, fresh , and clean. Transporting me to the late 90s, sipping lemonade and reading teen magazine, while listening the radio, sun kissed skin and floral dresses. Longing for the free spirited memories.

A beautiful timeless freshie with quite a long lasting power. It is a true pleasure to wear it. Don’t bother with “niche” fragrances with crazy prices when you can get this very nice scent for peanuts. I love it!

My dad uses it. LOVE IT!! Is really nostalgic for me, don’t like citric perfumes that much but this one has the perfect balance in its notes. It is kinda subtle but it feels close.

This isn't actually the first unisex perfume, it was just the first unisex perfume in a LONG time. All fragrance used to be unisex, more or less. It was just 'here's what we composed; buy it if you like it' and no one thought it was odd. That was until maybe the close of the Victorian era...? Things compartmentalized in the twentieth century...until CKOne. And really, CKOne did not initiate the tide of androgyny, it just...saw the zeitgeist. Was right there at the front for the rise of it becoming 'okay' for girls not to be wearing girly clothes and not be devastated if they didn't have a chest and boys not to feel like they failed at fifteen if they didn't want to look like a bodybuilder or Don Draper. So this is really a RETURN to unisex perfumery. It's only 'dated' now because it spawned SO MANY me-toos that it became cliche. But it itself is not a cliche. You know this smell. It's what you wear when you're not trying to make a statement other than 'I just want to blend in right now'. You're not trying to slap anyone in the face with how HIP you are, how niche, how statement. You just want to smell clean on the elliptical. Just want to run in to pick up some cheese and milk. And so on. Those of you talking about how 'old man/lady' this smells must be twelve, in which case it surprises me you hang out on this site. Same with 'Obsession', another CK. Sweet Zeus' toes, the 90's wasn't THAT long ago. It's not like we wore this with pinafores at our wrought iron and wood desks scribbling our sums on slates. Please! People who wore this when it came out were NOT generally old. This went off like an atomic bomb among the 15-25 set. This is what CHILDREN were wearing. It was the Axe of twenty years ago. When I was in middle school and junior high, everyone was wearing GIORGIO, for God's sake...Obsession,Exclamation. When CKOne dropped, we all forgot about Giorgio and proceeded to choke the adults out with this instead. So people who wore this all the time as teens are now in their late twenties to late thirties and if you think a twenty-eight or thirty year old is a geezer, may the universe take pity on you in your own 'dotage'! This is a safe scent, not as eye-watering as it once was. It used to give me the sneezies and headache but doesn't now. It won't challenge anyone or choke them. There IS a place for this kind of 'generic' safe bet and it's worth having at least a half ounce of. It is inexpensive nowadays. I have a bottle because it is a LANDMARK of perfume history and an extensive collection oughta include it. Someday the wheel will turn again and the fruity-sugary will be 'out' and the kids will be laughing at any old hens still wearing Viva La Juicy. (I like VLJ, it’s just the prime example of today’s ruling trend) While one certainly may like or dislike a perfume honestly, without subconscious peer pressure, you should examine your mind to make sure you don't like/dislike a thing because you 'should' or because your horizons simply don't go that far yet. Change is possible. Some people who wore this every day back then grew apart from it honestly. Some people who thought it was dank then (me) appreciate it now. You won't know how you'll feel about VLJ or Axe or insert-pop-singer-name-here's perfume in 2037 till you get there. That's part of what makes it so captivating, the perfume industry.

Probably one of the most mass-appealing scent there is, its like the best beginner entry to fragrance/inoffensive gift to give. I hate citrus, it smells sharp to me but its just done so well here that its pleasant and refreshing. I dont think there even is a point to writing a review because there is nobody reading a review for this fragrance because its so cheap, accessible and inoffensive. Kinda sucks that it lasts for like 3 minutes but I think that is the best outcome considering you can just reapply it. Like it reminds me of that friend, who you can't really have intelligent conversations with, who you dont know really well but they're like pretty funny and you keep around because they text back pretty fast and its an incredibly simple boring relationship. A part of you is dissapointed partly because you kind of feel the potential for depth, but you also feel guilty for sort of expecting more out of him, so you just go out for drinks sometimes and just don't really think about him until he phases out of your life quietly where you don't even notice. Later your group of friends brings him up and you go 'Oh yeahhh, I liked him, where'd he go? what happened to him?' and then you like look him up on facebook or something and he just has like a nice family and kids and is working in like accounting but mainly just posts about his kids. Then you know, you like sit back and think about how you deemed yourself better then them cause of your 'personality' but because you never really held yourself accountable or disciplined you were never able to achieve much of anything other than small bits here and there, and you feel like a character from forrest gump (thats not gump himself). Yeah good fragrance 8/10
