Euphoria Intense

It's odd that Calvin Klein decided to bring out an Intense version of Euphoria 16 years after the original release, but I'm so here for it! What a breath of fresh air between all the random flankers that sometimes have nothing to do with the original. Euphoria was and is a standout and a pioneer of the fruitchouli genre, even though it officially doesn't have patchouli in the notes. Deep, dark, very fruity, but not as sugary sweet as many of its successors. I always liked it, but never had it. A few years ago I retested it, but in the end it was just a bit too sharp for me and made me noseblind quickly. Now this is everything I wanted Euphoria to be! When I first smelled Euphoria Intense I had a flash of nostalgia to the time the original was first issued. Make of that what you will, I won't speculate about reformulations of a scent I never owned. If you forget about the short notes list for a moment, you will smell all the important elements of Euphoria's DNA: Tart juicy pomegranate, sleek ebony woods, warm amber. Patch, of course. It smells like the color of the bottle. The blackcurrant nectar is a delicious addition to the scent profile. I find this creamier than the EDP, which is exactly what I missed there. They seem to have left out the watery floral notes of lotus and violet this time, which is another huge plus. I can't say if this is really more intense than the original, I found that quite strong, too. But it's just what I want from an "Intense" flanker: A rich, warm and deep version of the pillar fragrance. Love it!

I have been testing/wearing CK Euphoria Intense now for the past three days. As a sporadic wearer of the original Euphoria, in the Fall & Winter, I find the Intense to be much richer and complex. All the original notes are there, the green apple, pear, the hint of vanilla and patch. I find the Intense version actually "softer", in that, each element is present yet more rounded and not as harsh. Here's where that depth comes in. I get touches of fig, vibernum, Five spice and a bit of bergamot as well. That being said, the added depth and complexity punch up the longevity and sillage. Not being a big fan of vanilla and really sweet syrupy fragrances, I was tentative about CK Euphoria Intense as the original tends to hold onto the orchid/vanilla note throughout the longevity. What impressed me is, this perfume is not too "sugary sweet" like Angel. If you like the original Thierry Mugler Angel and CK original Euphoria, give the Intense version a try....I doubt you'll be disappointed and you may just find a new signature fragrance for the Fall & Winter that's much more cultured and unique. In a blind fragrance test, I would have guessed this perfume came from a high end "Boutique" perfume House. notes: fig, green apple, vanilla, patchouli, amber, bergamot, black orchid, apple blossom, black current longevity: 6-8 hours sillage: moderate to strong Price: $$ Great Value Overall, a lovely, unique perfume, that's rare in the mass market.

I love Euphoria. It is aptly named and while I respect others’ opinions and how they experience that perfume, I’ve found it unique, long lasting, transportive, and beautiful. I saw Euphoria Intense for a decent price and decided to give it a try. I don’t know why I haven’t tried it before now, much as I love Euphoria. While it doesn’t share listed notes with the original Hot Couture, at first wearing it reminded me strongly of it. There is a similar fruitiness, depth, complexity, and resinous lasting power that I just love. There is definitely heat in its strength. I’m extremely happy with this purchase - I will wear it by itself, but I will also use it to add a different layer to Euphoria as they differ enough that it should be a lovely enhancement. EI has 12+ hour longevity on me - I smell it all day, through the beautiful sweet incensey drydown. I had despaired of ever finding something I loved that performed the way vintage perfumes did - ecstatic to find Euphoria Intense - purchasing a backup! For me, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Scent 10/10.

I bought the original Calvin Klein Euphoria in 2005 when it was first debuted. It was my first signature fragrance, and I wore it all throughout high school. Sometime around 2008, it was reformulated to have a more pronounced patchouli note that, to me, smelled like dried down cat urine. I hated it. This smells how I remember the original Euphoria smelling. It smells exactly how it looks--purple. It's perfectly balanced and deep without feeling heavy. It's not too musky, not too fruity, not too floral. My sister took one whiff of me and said, "that smells dreamy." Dreamy is the perfect word for this. And it lasts forever on skin and clothes. I know some people prefer this as a winter fragrance, but I love the way it projects in the Georgia summer, and I think it works for all seasons. I'm so happy to have my signature fragrance back!

I blind bought a full bottle of this because one of my good friends wore the OG euphoria in high school. Back then (2006/07) euphoria smelled unique but too mature. I didn’t dislike it though, it was just so different from what was popular in our age group at the time (I was wearing Ralph RL and Into the Blue Escada). I wanted to smell Euphoria again but wanted a little difference from what my friend wore so I bought this based on reviews—and I LOVE it. When I first sprayed I though it smelled good, but it just keeps getting better. Long lasting too! It’s an effortlessly sexy, day or night fragrance. Perfect for fall and winter (maybe spring or summer too but I’ll have to test it then—thinking it’ll be too heavy tho). I love the simple notes. I keep smelling it in the air around me and thinking mmm what’s that smell?!

A very well blended fragrance with the immaculate fruity sweetness of black currant that plays perfectly with the fresh orchid. It's a magnificent perfume that is more feminine, sultry and sweet. I have yet to fail to receive a compliment when I wear this, I am an over sprayer but it isn't necessary with this one. Projection, strength and lasting power are moderate to long based on how much you spray and if you do both your clothes and skin. I would wear this in any weather because it smells so good that if the heat amplifies it you love it and still works beast in very cold weather. This fragrance is neither young or mature it's down the middle and anyone can wear it. It carries a sophistication that is timeless but simple.

This. Smells. AMAZING. For anyone afraid of patchouli, don't be afraid of this scent. I don't notice it in there, honestly. If you liked original Euphoria you will LOVE this. If you did not care for the OG, you still *MUST TRY* this. It is really beautiful, just really pretty. Difficult to describe. It's probably the orchid mixed with the fact it is less powdery (not powdery at all, actually) and contains more "warm spicy." Anyway, I highly recommend!

Fun to experiment but it's not a playful perfume and more sensuous than sexy. It does remind me literally of Sangria since it plays well with other scents and is sweet but falls just short of syrupy. I love that it's versatile and pairs well with that extra fruit or orchid and I find myself keeping it around because of this.

I’m really enjoying the new ‘Intense’ release. Totally unisex in my opinion, it opens with a loud burst of Black Currant that slices through the cold weather like a blizzard of Ribena! It soon settles down but projects like crazy off of my skin. Pretty solid release from Calvin Klein!

Gosh, I'm so happy I got this. It's a blast from the blast of their OG, with a twist at the beginning. I'm in heaven. Such a reasonable price for such a beautiful sexy scent. Let me douse myself in pure XTC whilst I binge on Netflix!

smells almost exactly like la petite robe noire intense by guerlain. a bit less dark and more sharp rather than cold. i haven't sprayed this onto my wrist to check out how it mixes with my body chemistry, but lprn intense is one of my favorite perfumes so i quite like this fragrance. it starts off zesty and sweet, very much a berries aroma. when it dries down, it's this like dark berries, a bit syrupy and spicy. it's sweet but i would not recommend it as a sweet fragrance because it has a sharpness to it. the perfume bottle represents the fragrance well. 🍇🥀 probably wouldn't purchase, but it's a good fragrance imo!!

I smelt this when I was at the perfume shop and I really liked it, I actually like it more than the original Euphoria, I find this new Intense version to be stronger and fruitier and more modern and overall more pleasant compared to the original, it also lasted longer on my skin compared to the original. I would rather buy this than the original Euphoria. But I do like the original Euphoria also, I just love this one better.

This has a balance between sweet and tart, floral and woody. Probably more suited to cooler weather but I can also imagine this working beautifully on a warm, summer’s night! A classy, elegant fragrance ...not for every day. I also think it’s more unisex than the votes suggest. On me, it smells a little like a blackberry bush in the sun after having been rained on ...delicious!

Bought it as a present, tested to write a small review. I’ve expected it to be synthetic, but it’s not at all. Rich orchids mixed with juicy patchouli with black current on top! Not stuffy as most of female frags are, btw. It’s deeply sweet and reads like a dark purple shade (yep, like its bottle). Mostly night scent, I guess, and for colder weather.

This smells amazing. I get at least 8hours of wear and even more on clothes. It’s a nice mix of the original EDP with some of the less nuanced notes of Angel EDP. Love this!

I got a compliment for the first time when I wore this out. It's quite a strong perfume, so less is more in this case.

A non spicy version of the original. Basically smells like the dry down of the OG and smoother

Delectable unisex fruitchouli. My first impression was "Odd to make a fragrance like this, nowadays", thinking fruitchoulis are well passé. But then my nose was suggesting the top/mid here is a plasticy reminder back to the top/mids of quite older hybrid chypre scents, back to Nahema, back much further to Shalimar, as they smell now of course. The ambery petroleum impact. Well I have Shalimar and Nahema on one arm and Euphoria Intense on another, and of course they are nothing alike, but that's where my nose sent me. Anyway, I can see the inspiration isn't necessarily contemporary fragrance, rather throwback. It smells good. I have some testers. Now if someone gave me a bottle, I'd be happy and would try mixing it with other scents. It's underwhelming for what it wants to be (rich, spicy, deep, moderately sultry) - half baked. Then again, the simplicity would support a heavy spray or let it be an office safe yet moderately sultry fragrance. And I like the lack of powder. The issue for me is that a number of Guerlain classics are so heavily discounted online nowadays, why not stick to them? They're more complex, with higher artistry and value.

This was the best of a bad lot in my smell outing at Sephora today. This is a black currant and patchouli bomb. It doesn't smell bad but it just doesn't smell that complex either. I love black currant and Patchouli when they are combined w/ a more complex bouquet of florals and deeper woody notes but this is so linear and dull. This perfume is just lacking in depth and complexity and not worth the asking price.

It is a rich spicy fragrance, for mature woman (i am not considering age) who likes her feminine side and want to emphase it. I feel the casis and orchid clearly in the opening, few minutes later it is orchid with some spices... For me its nothing special, but i can imagine women likes this very much. I lack the black, deep decadent sultriness in this... Its spicy but not dark..
