Obsessed for Men Intense

Since I've been interested in fragrances Obsessed for men EDP Intense has been the biggest mystery I've encountered. It's such a stunning scent that it really blows my mind how Calvin Klein/Coty decided to release it with little fanfare and seemingly as a limited edition (although this isn't noted anywhere). Whenever anyone trashes CK frags I suggest giving this a try. This stuff competes with ALL the heavy hitters and smashes most of them IMO. Obsessed for men EDT was OK but honestly quite forgettable to me, this EDP is a totally different beast, a totally under the radar gem that needs to be experienced to be believed. Maybe CK/Coty should re-release this stuff as a standalone scent with the name CK Mystery, keeping the sleek black bottle or maybe giving it a mirrored effect as with Obsession Night. I don't know anything that smells similar to this (many say Black Afghano though I've never smelled it) but perhaps imagine a combination of CK Encounter and with a touch of L'Homme Lacoste Intense and hint of Azzaro Amber Fever (edit also a little like Euphoria for men Intense, this is way stronger though). Performance is extremely good too, very long-lasting and it creates a beautifully mysterious and compelling sillage. High quality gem from CK.

I never cease to be amazed by CK and their steady output. Even more surprising is just how many I really like among them. This stuff is nothing short of superb, evoking some very notable scents along the way. The opening is a tart, fruity note, not immediately recognisable as rhubarb but settling to it after a moment. This just frames the scent as the main body is one of deep woods and resin, but fruity evoking a little of CdG Floriental. You can really get the smell of guaic wood and cypriol softened in the drydown by vanilla and amber. Obsessed Intense is a very dense leathery oriental in the style of Carner cuirs, Palo Santo or Nasomatto Pardon but slightly cleaner, cheaper and more mainstream. It's hard to pin this stuff down, I think there were several other fragrances it reminded me of, all of which were niche, which I think speaks for itself and tells you where this is going. I want it. I thought it was excellent, kinda messy and all over the place but more thought provoking than most releases I've tried lately.

Finally I found this at a duty free shop in Ireland, I was beginning to wonder if it even existed. Why is this stuff so hard to find??? Mystery to me. This was just a quick test but Obsessed Intense for me is completely different to the regular EDT version in the clear bottle, to my nose they don't have a lot in common at all. This however is a truly lovely, refined and sumptuous fragrance from CK. Such frag snob s will snigger at that statement and this next one- the house of Calvin Klein continue to surprise me with decent releases (CK one shock for men, Obsession night for men, CK2, CK Obsessed) that soon it will no longer be a surprise but an expectation once again. Definitely a smooth and dark spicy/oriental gem of a scent this one.

One spray at the time, or the guiac wood will hit you in the head. For me, this was a steal. You can never go really wrong with Calvin Klein, and "eau de parfum intense" sounds like value for money. But does it smell nice? I was looking for an Amber-Woody successor to my Halston Amber (Amber + Oud) and this one does a marvellous trick. It's a beast for sure, and absolutely NSFW. I sometimes use it as a base layer for Burberry London for men, they are both Guiac Woody, and the tobacco in Burberry London enhances your presence, if that's what you want. Fot those who didn't know, guiac wood is also called palo santo, and some energy workers burn this wood before a session.

This is my initial impression of CK obssesed intense. The sparkling grapefruit oppening instantly remind me of issey miyake noir argent, but then after 2-3 min latter, they both went into different direction. In noir argent, the insense became more prominent. on the otherside,Obssesed intense went into slighty sweet and balsamic scent. The gurjan balsam smells very similiar to succan absolute notes in Davidoff amber blend. I think this is more polished and wearable version of davidoff amberblend, i seldom used amber blend because it way to loud, and dont mixed well with high heat. I will put this more often in my rotation to see how it develop in my skin.

I've owned a bottle of this for a good while now, since late spring/early summer last year. More extensive 'review' to come but honestly this is one heck of a mysterious (and exceptional) release. Calvin Klein knocked it out of the park with this, extremely high quality, a smash hit waiting to happen yet they don't market it??????? The world (and so the Calvin Klein brand's marketing!) is strange, this is a masterpiece in comparison to most designer releases in the last 10 years. A must buy! If this does one day get some Youtube hype I can safely say that for a change, the hype would be real. Dang, maybe I should've kept this a secret?

Short and sweet review! CK Obsessed Intense is a real good smelling fragrance and it surprised me how really nice this scent is. The Projection & Longevity are excellent (but no beast) which is surprising for a CK scent. Most of them(I have around 30) are at the average mark but Obsessed Intense does go further. Not massively but enough to notice a difference. I really do love this fragrance but I have to go easy on it because it's not that cheap and I heard it has been discontinued but not sure about that. . Three squirts is more than enough to get you noticed! All in all a 8.5 out of 10 for me👌👍😍🍻!

since adding Black Afgano to my collection and doing a side by side comparison, I must say the two are strikingly similar. it's that sweet, plastic, playdoh note they manage to create while not sharing any notes. CK opens up much brighter due to the rhubarb and grapefruit, and stays that way for maybe half an hour. soon after, the cashmeran and guaiac wood peak through, and this is where the likeness to BA begins. with low prices (despite discontinuation) and great performance for a CK, I think I would choose this over BA. it's more wearable and mass appealing.

Calvin Klein obsessed For men intense.. wow I must say on first couple sprays I was overwhelmed by an intense perfume and it was very fruity it was very incense Laden and it was pungent and it lasted up 6 hours on my skin....Also sprayed on my shirt sleeves and still smells as intense as the first Initial sprays.....I really like this scent as it is really rich is very aromatic I have to give the scent an 8.5 strengthen longevity 7.0....The Smell just slightly reminds me of Polo red extreme or Polo red in some ways

About 10 years ago, i walked by my brother who wore an interesting scent. I told him he smelled good and we left it at that. A couple of months later he hands me a bottle as a gift, and i fell in love with it so bad that i quickly used almost all of it up. Now 10 years later, i still have the bottle, with probably 3-5 ml in it, but i never use it, i just like to look at it and cherish the memories. Phenomenal masculinity and uniqueness in the scent profile. What a shame to discontinue a gem like this.

This is a welcommed fragrance as in the past 2 years, Calvin Klein is showing a trend of presenting better more complex fragrances instead of "easy" fragrances. I just tested a sample and I liked it a lot. I never considered buying the original Obsessed but I do want to buy this one. The dark dry down dominated by Vanilla, Amber and Brazilian Guayac (Pau Santo in portuguese) is fantastic. The Rhubarb opening is very nice as well.

I love this. Gave myself a rare treat of a wear of this today, why rare? Because for some reason it's not easy to find, I don't understand Coty/CK with this fragrance, surely one of their best in recent times yet seemingly a limited release (although not officially a limited edition), strange as it could've been a big hit. Fantastic woody oriental scent with strong sillage and long lasting power too.

This smells like a very sweet mix of Byredo's Baudelaire and Fortis by Les Liquides Imaginaires. The dry down is very similar to the beautiful Fortis. Funnily enough my only hesitance for buying it is the branding and packaging which is a bit cheap looking and uninspiring. It is also way too sweet and the materials seem very chemical. Or I have just become an insufferable niche perfume snob...

I was quite surprised by the quality and depth this fragrance had to offer. Obsessed intense is of niche quality and I think it’s one of the best underrated fragrances of 2018. It’s not subtle it’s dark, mysterious and loud but very well blended I clearly smell the comparison to Black Afgano, but I also smell this dark vanilla and dark amber from Fahreneit Le Parfum. Wow! DEFINITELY a surprise coming from CK (in a good way). I will say this, the notes are blended very well and that woody-vanilla aroma is awesome. Performance is great as well(rare for the CK fragrances I've had throughout the years).... CK, WHY oh WHY was this and Euphoria Amber Gold discontinued? Due to that, I've been using both sparingly over the last few years.

Helooo my lovely fragheads lol Got this as a birthday present late February 2018 Its a delicious raspberry & incense smell and is a beast longevity wise. Doesn't project in a big way but enough so that it's noticeable that you smell gooood! Similar to cristiano ronaldo private blend in many ways(I own it too) just a tad more sweetness.

@Giskela you have commented on here no less than three times complaining about people thinking this smells like BA. clearly it does, and many people agree. why does it bother you so much? get over it.

If you want a scent in the same vein as Afgano and Cuirs without breaking the bank, this is it. This is a beast. Lasts all day and into the morning - at least on me. 9.5/10

Much like the post before me, this smells REALLY similar to another frag and I am going nuts sniffing bottles here... The opening is like a slightly more gourmand version of Man in Black, but it might just be the pepper giving me that vibe. Encre Noire comes to mind as well, but with less of a piercing cashmere note, and more on something sweeter like the grapefruit/rhubarb/vanilla combination. Or as someone else said, I can agree with, it even makes me think of La Nuit D'Issey. La Nuit is "darker" and spicier, but this scent DOES have evocations of La Nuit. The dry down is quite woody, and pleasantly smooth. The notes mix quite well, do not seem to fight one another, and I am a fan of this frag overall. It does not have any "chemical" smells to the composition, so that is a plus in my book. I love when a blind purchase turns out good!

I recently picked this one up in a New year sale. For me it's a fresh and spicy scent. Very pleasant and wearable but nothing ground breaking or unique, in fact it reminds me of something else I can't quite put my finger on. Would work well as an office scent or as casual wear. Longevity is excellent I get 7 to 8 hours easily. It opens with the grapefruit and rhubarb which fades quickly and then it's pretty much a spicy, woody affair. Clean, fresh and spicy and overall a very nice fragrance with great lasting power but nothing new or innovative, in my opinion. Nice one to have in the collection as a simple scent to reach for when you just want to smell pleasant.

Ok, so I got this and I like it a lot. The first thing to hit me is the sweet rhubarb and grapefruit. Then, the cashmeran and cedar come through. It is powerful with the vanilla which will overpower everything else but the balsam which comes through at the end along with the amber. For a Calvin Klein fragrance, I'm impressed. This is a good fragrance and the longevity on me is about 7+ hours with moderate sillage. This does NOT Remind me of Black Afgano; no way! This is its own animal, completely different.

Tested this today, it was an ok scent more spicy and dark than the original, i still think i prefer the original but it was ok enough to make me wanna buy it at some point if i can get it cheap, it lasted about 6 hours with avrage projection.

A great winter fragrance! Fruity spice with great longevity! Not a fan of obsessed..but really enjoy this one.

I just don't understand how some people say that this smells similar to Gucci Intense Oud and Black Afgano Nasomatto. I had Gucci 2016 batch and I had a decant of Black Afgano and I have an official sample of Ck and there is absolutely no connection with Gucci and Black Afgano. It is ok scent a bit feminine, reminds me of shampoo but it is not even in the same ballpark with Gucci and Black Afgano, not even on the same planet.

I picked Obsessed Edp up blind after reading all the favorable reviews. Sadly I'm not too impressed by it. I was expecting an exotic incense scent but it is just another fruity, sweet, spicy nighttime scent. It's quite similar to several others in my collection like Bogart Club 75 and Nuit D'Issey but I like those better. It seems to have good lasting power but it doesn't project much on me.

People who say this smells like Black Afgano should have their head examined (please don't kill me I'm only joking so take no offense) this to me smells like hair shampoo and it's ok but for a younger crowd for clubbing and similar occasions. Well, that's just my two cents, so please do try it yourselves.

Not woody, not Animalic not even close to Gucci Intense Oud or Black Afgano. This smells like clean sweetness with a bit of spice, it reminds me of a hair shampoo

This mysterious scent blew me away... but in a totally opposite direction from the majority of the fragrance aficionados here. It's pungent. It's overwhelming. It's cloying. It's powdery. It's an ambroxan and vanilla bomb. Those are just the qualities of fragrances I normally avoid. If you like those qualities, you'll likely be able to appreciate this. Despite the fact that I can tolerate the EDT, this EDP is a different animal. I sprayed it once in my bedroom and I still remember how I suffocated in my own room. In my opinion, the best thing I can say for this fragrance is its bottle design. Such a cool-looking bottle!

I found a great deal so I bought a bottle. The "dark" fruit at first is nice as well as strong, but doesn't last long. Then it's rather weak, but the blend is pleasant. I can't think of anything it smells a lot like, but at least it doesn't seem too "chemical." There's a touch of sweetness and obviously some mild musk. And it's not "lavender overload" country. I used two sprays so I'm surprised others think it's strong. Next time I'll use more sprays and report back. UPDATE: After a couple hours, it started to "bloom" and was at its best. The far drydown is similar to Derby Club House Ascot.

I bought this because it's new and it's an EDP. There is nothing spectacular about the scent,it will probably remind you of another fragrance but there is something about the longevity and soft smell that stays with you allday without being too noticeable. It's sweet and I think using too much would cause nausea, however it keeps you feeling scented. Overall a good everyday scent. This will be my new signature on the strength of its longevity

What’s great surprise This is a great alternative if you want a more wearable black Afghano . Check your local tjmax or Marshall’s 34 for 2.5 EDP you cant go wrong ,this is one of those perfume that time will increase the value Obsessed has the same vibe as Carner Barcelona cuirs,Black Afghano and Gucci intense oud at at fraction of the price

I like it , IT DOES NOT smells like Black Afgano !!!!!!! Lol .. is a very nice scent ,,, scent profile is more similar to “Joop Wild homme “ is a cheap parfume but smells refined and nice , but DOES NOT! smells like BLack Afgano at all , i have it and nope not to my nose , who ever started this rumor needs to stop .

Had a quick smell of this today, wasn't yet for sale but the SA had a bottle in his little secret cupboard, caught me off guard as I didnt even know it existed. Just a quick spray on a card, very rushed first impression just "OK", little more warmer and richer than the EDT nothing radically different.

There is definitely a very prominent note in Black Afgano that is present here. It's more muted, but it does color the fragrance and it is (to my nose) identical. What exactly it is, I am unsure, as they don't share ingredients on paper. This is my signature, the only scent I keep a backup bottle of.

Start out as a creamy fruit based scent and evolves into a powdery synthetic woodsy all too familiar generic fragrance, it showed promise until the dry down stage, the scent lingers on for about 4 hours then goes into a close encounter skin scent, overall O.K. for night time events .

Absolutely stunning beauty. I was just lucky to get a 125ml tester(w/o cap though) at a price of ~20$, and never expected it to be so good. I also get a beautiful and prominent sandalwood note too which is strangely not listed. It is a must-have!

@Dark Owl It's not limited but sadly discontinued. I was lucky to get 2 bottles for the old price last year. Will it show up again, don't know. Price is high as f on some markets. Awesome fragrance and "weird" for CK type of fragrances.

Im surprised it smells great on me. Very lasting on my skin. I has some resemblance of Amouage Epic Man and Black Afgano Nasomato. Niche! Worth trying this spicy insencey smell. Quite a rare release by CK to my opinion.

Rhubarb and Vanilla? I wonder if it will be similar to Mugler's newly released AURA. I'm glad they removed the Ambroxan. It reminded me too much of "laundry" in the initial release of Obsessed.

WOW...CK has really come around in the last few years....killer scent and longevity if off the charts for me which is rare. great for cooler weather.

Certainly one for longevity ,very deep and woody/spicy ,not as expensive are making out ,in the uk you can pick up decent sized bottles for £25-£30

Yes, this is really similiar to something... I came to conclusion that it is really similiar to 1 Million Prive by Paco Rabanne but more soapy.

Starts good, then turns bit sour and everything else is Ambroxan. I can't detect anything else, except sharp to mild turning ambroxan.

I'm getting a lot of compliments on this. Great winter fragrance with very long lasting longevity. Thumbs up!

rhubarb will be the breakout note for 2018. well be seeing more of this since Aura Mugler's success.
