Truth Sensual Bedtime Fragrance

This bedtime scent is not really a bedtime scent, it's a very sensual, warm clean scent that goes with any occasion, day or night. It's mostly green and citric, but sweetened and warmed with amber, feminized with florals and made sensual with woods. Imagine a warmer, deeper, slightly sweeter and more sensuous version of 'Eclat D'Arpege' and you're close to what this fragrance smells like. It's more feminine than Truth EDP to my nose and abit sweeter. Beautiful. I miss it. This and Truth EDP were my first real fragrances as a teen. I loved this little roll on, I always wear it layered with the EDP and body lotion and the scent would last all day and more. The combination was my first signature scent right up till my college years when stores stopped selling them.

The concept of "bedtime fragrances" has always made me giggle. It's such a brilliant way to market a linear scent with weak projection and sillage and a boring drydown. It's not supposed to develop or project or be interesting because, well, you're supposed to be asleep! As expected, this bedtime fragrance does not project at all. They put it in a rollerball to trick you further: "You just didn't apply enough of me," the little vial complains, begging to be in your hands once more. Despite my cynicism around the concept, I do think this scent is nice. I dutifully followed instructions in applying this before bed, and then proceeded to get up and reapply it because apparently, my insomnia lasts longer than this fragrance does. The first note that hit my nose was something I interpreted as a sweet, exotic, aquatic, semi-fantasy sort of floral, like lotus, or maybe cactus flower. This turned out to be the bamboo, with a hint of sweetness from the lilac and clover, and I actually really like it. I don't detect much citrus. The clover actually feels like the main player in this scent to me: it's a slightly crispy-sweet bamboo-clover green sort of scent, with some soapy floral peony that comes out more in the drydown. I'm grateful for this scent showing me some beautiful new notes! The bamboo is woodsy and lovely, expertly blended with a hint of floral sweetness, while the clover embodies the heart of the fragrance with its slightly sharp summery green aroma. I could do without the quintessential early 2000s soapy peony and mimosa, but they aren't really prominent until well into the drydown when the clover finally begins to fade away. The last stage of this is an inoffensive gentle vanilla musk with an almost milky quality. It feels like the sort of mild sweet scent people describe as "my skin, but better". As I mentioned, this is an instant skin scent, with no projection and next-to-no longevity. It's very possible my 2003 rollerball has been weakened by time, though. I'm not sure what the selling point of a bedtime fragrance is: is this supposed to be comforting? Soporific? Sexy? To its credit, I did sleep incredibly deeply with pleasant dreams last night, but I don't think I could smell this fragrance. I'd have to bathe in this to actually smell it on myself in bed. I'll have to try again, though, because the sleep was lovely. This is a nice scent, and a fascinating ephemeral opus on clover. Subtract the dull soapy florals and add something spicy and I daresay this would fit in among the niche fragrance crowd, albeit as a rather linear offering. If it projected more, I'd definitely be more interested, but as it were, this is sadly relegated to the world of skin scents too faint to truly love.

Joke is on me, I bought a small rollerball, I didn't read the fine print when I purchased it, I thought I was getting a mini of Truth EDP. I applied it realizing it has an oily texture and then read the vial. This is indeed an fleeting scent with a faultlessly balanced blend of fresh florals and a lovely woody/vanilla base with subtle warmth and musk. I applied several layers of this before I went out the door to go to work. I then was worried that I was anosmic to it and would suffocate my coworkers although we still have individual offices and minimal contact. I need not have worried. Please read @ambergeese review for a nicely descriptive take on the notes and development. Yes, so I guess I will put this pleasant concoction on my nightstand to use at bedtime on rotation with my Osea body oil.

this scent is so faint that even I use a lot you can only smell it vaguely when putting your nose right on you wrist...... :(

MAN I LOVE THIS ONE! Today was moving preparation day and as I was wrapping perfumes I came across this one. It ́s not strictly speaking mine but I happened to be in possession of it. Since I never really smelled it before I decided to have a little sniff. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Made me feel like hitting the town. Really sensual. Gonna try and keep it!!! Fresh and alluring. Sweet but not syrupy. My kind of perfume.

If you are looking for a light musk that is clean at the same time, this one is it! I like the fragrance but this one is so pure. It makes you smell naturally good.

This is a very nice clean scent. It's a sheer veil on your skin, nothing loud or harsh, just lovely as it is. If it would last longer, I'd wear it all the time!
