Smells very fresh and more of an aromatic smell than anything Gotten quite a few compliments which surprised me because it is so cheap

Perhaps one of the best value fragrances out there. If not, then the best.

Monarch smells pretty green and blue for a fragrance with such brown notes. I mean literally look at the note breakdown it's pictures of almost all brown stuff. Anyway when I smell it I smell turquoise 😂. No seriously this is a woody fresh fragrance that reminds you of something you've smelled a million times, but can't quite put your fingers on what it smells like. I'd say it smells like a cross between Cool Water and Hugo, or maybe a much lighter, less chemical like version of Giorgio Wings for men. Bottom line it smells good, lasts at least 8 hours, and projects moderately for 6 hours off skin. It's a decent buy, but redundant for most enthusiasts.

I'm really surprised to see this and other fragrances like it have made it on to Fragrantica finally! Although not my favorite scent being the opening is heavy on the ambergris/Inky notes it's pretty good especially at thr price point.

Cheap with good, nice & fresh top notes. However, It quickly becomes this weird chemically mess of a fragrance, like something a cheap hotel lobby or public bathroom. Maybe wins award for best start to worst finish in my collection. Inexpensive enough to give a spin, I've seen it at plenty of "rack" stores for well under 20 bucks, but I have no other recommendation on this vile stuff.

Monarch is very similar to lacoste blanc. Its not a clone per se but if you spray one on each arm you can see they are built similarly and share similar notes. The main notes are the citrus and whatever makes up the animalic note in lacoste. The animalic note is almost exact and the citrus note is slightly different maybe a little more sour and less fresh. The dry down is almost identical. Lacoste is not an expensive fragrance. You can find 5oz bottles for 40 bucks online , but if you want something that fills that niche for you for less than 20 bucks monarch will do it. Im not sure why theres eternal votes because monarch lasts a few hours at best before the need to reapply. It lasts around the same amount of time that lacoste blanc lasts.

Monarch is clean, soapy, dry and smooth. It's like an aquatic without the chemical pool water smell. The quality of the materials seems to be good, as it doesn't smell overly synthetic. There's a strong fizzy, salty note underlying the woody and spicy notes, similar to ambergris. You can wear this fragrance any time of year, for any occasion. It's classy and very masculine, though it is not a macho man/hairy chest kind of scent. I don't smell most of the notes listed - no leather, no animalic, no earthy notes at all. This is smooth and soapy, and is a worthy purchase. I bought a backup bottle because it's so good!

I have the Monarch V flanker, smells almost exactly like YSL Y Eau de Parfum! Great stuff for $12, really good longevity too.
