Velvet Candy

I'm so thrilled, I've been waiting for the day Camara fragrances were finally added to the database! This fragrance is almost a copy of Candy Rock Sugar. The intense similarity in profile is no joke. On first spray, the bubblegum, jellybean, and vanilla lead the way, and thankfully the woodier notes provide some anchoring and balancing of the sweet ones - but the sweetness never goes away for 6+ hours. The rhum is doing what it's supposed to and it is juicy! It's a rich blend. I just find it disappointing that the sweet vanilla is no longer detectable after hours, leaving more room for the woody & flower notes. But to put woody as top 5 in the ranking is inaccurate - it should be way down. It's a better female sent, as in for a woman.

I don't have VCRS so I cannot compare, however I have tried some of its dupes so I can only really go off based on those. I tried Khair Confection, and nope. Not for me. To my nose all I got was pear and a bunch of floral and woody notes, especially on the dry down. However when I spray it, the scent i get in the air is what I like as it is a bit sweet. Just not on my skin nor clothes for some reason. Big let down, as others hyped it up to be so sweet, cotton candy-ish and that's not the case for me. I also tried Miim Miic's 108 which is inspired by it. And to me it was very similar to Khair. I thought perhaps this is just how the DNA is supposed to smell like, which was not sweet at all to me. HOWEVER, I found this gem at Marshall's for only $16.99 and it was the only one there. Upon first sniff, I surprisingly instantly liked it! It is so much sweeter than the two I have tried, without a doubt. If this is how it is supposed to smell like, then I am a fan. Crazy how to me this is much better than those. I highly recommend this one, give it a try!

Reminds me of a sweet December vanilla with jelly bean notes. I can smell the rum, patchouli, and labdanum. If you are a guy who likes sweet scents I think this would be a good one. It doesn't smell like rock sugar to me.

I sampled this at TJ Maxx. I have to say, I didn't get anything candy like from it. It literally smelled like ruby red grapefruit/ pink grapefruit. There doesn't seem to be a grapefruit note listed, but that's all I got from this fragrance. I'm so glad Arabian fragrances are more readily available now, bc I probably would have blind purchased this if I had saw it online somewhere. Needless to say, I would have been very disappointed. This is proof positive that fragrance is subjective bc someone else may smell something completely different.
