Caribbean Joe

Alright, so, bought this 3.4 bottle for like $9. On initial application....crap...pine air freshener. But, wait for it....Somehow this becomes a lovely lemon blossom and nearly caramelly/vanilla cloud! I know the edibles aren't listed, but sometimes the sum is greater than the parts. This is a great value and I see myself buying a couple more bottles for spring.

This is a hidden gem, found at Tj Maxx for 3.99,it starts off as a whacky pine and rocket popsicle smelling scent then winds down into a creamy orange vanilla dream come true. Love love love it! Wonderful blind buy.

This is a great refreshing spring and summer fragrance. Lemon and creamy vanilla. There are four other fragrances by this brand that aren't listed here that I want to give everyone a heads up about. Misty Nights, Sunset Dreams, Barefoot Bliss and Blue Rush. Right now the Dollar Tree has these four fragrances that are not knock-offs but the real deal. 1.7 edp for a dollar! I bought all four and I like them all, especially Misty Nights. You can't go wrong for a buck a piece so, head on over before they are gone.

I got this one free with a Gordman's coupon. The 100ml bottle was marked down to $4.98 and I had a coupon for $10.00 off any purchase as a "birthday bonus", so why not? A generic candied floral fruity with average sillage and longevity. Nice enough . I'll be passing it along to a co-worker to give to her 8 year old daughter, like a Disney fragrance or some such. DEFINITELY not recommended for any serious parfumista. Too candy-sweet and generic smelling. Pass - and save your $$ for something else.

I bought it as a giftset with 50 ml parfume and 50 ml body lotion. It was very affordable. I like the citrus scent on my skin. It ́s gonna work great for this summer. It ́s very hot right now, and I very pleased with it. The body lotion is very well too. Such a great quality for so little money.

The initial scent is reminiscent of an orange dream sickle--creamy citrusy orange. But after only about 15 minutes it turned to a weirdly cloying sugary scent on my skin. I'm usually one to try scents multiple times before making a decision, but I ended up donating this one to a local thrift store after one wearing.

I notice that people here are reviewing all different fragrances made by Caribbean Joe. The notes listed are for Caribbean Joe Sunset Dream. One reviewer said it was actually Misty Nights. It's not. It's Sunset Dream and you can tell that by looking elsewhere on the internet and confirming it by sniffing the different perfumes yourself. The Orange Dreamsicle one that someone mentioned I think is called Caribbean Joe for women and is in an orange bottle and she is right, after ten minutes of orange dreamsicle it is horrific, well strong pencil shavings is all. This one, not pictured, but the notes listed, Sunset Dream actually smells like fruity floral heaven in the top and heart notes. But after 10 minutes you're at the dry down of orris, amber and sandlewood, which smells like a generic old lady scent. I haven't actually tried the one pictured I think it's Caribbean Joe for men. But the notes listed are NOT Barefoot Bliss, Blue Rush, or Misty Nights or the ugly orange bottle Caribbean Joe. I have not tried Barefoot Bliss, that's the only one. Blue Rush was a dupe of Light Blue or Light Blue Italian Zest. Not bad at all if you like those. Misty Nights was a scrubber for me. I didn't recognize any scents and it was some weird powdery thing, on the internet elsewhere it says driftwood and other things in Misty Nights. Sunset Dream smells so good in the top and heart I thought I'd try something else compatible to add base notes that smelled better. It didn't stink in the base mind you, just very average say 80s or 90s middle aged woman scent.

I really didn't have anything in my wardrobe with heavy citrus, and I wasn't sure if I would really enjoy the scent. I saw this at at TJMaxx for $3.99, so I figured it could always make a good room spray, too. Turns out I do like this citrus-infused one, but there's a reason why. This is a creamy citrus, not a bursting, in your face spritz of citrus, and that's what I prefer. Imagine a citrus smoothie (if there is such a thing) and you're sitting on a big, old, overstuffed leather, well-worn sofa. The scent of that vintage sofa is around you, but so is that creamy citrus smoothie you're drinking. The burst of citrus you get in the beginning is there and tones down considerably but it's tempered by the sandalwood and musk. This lies very close to the skin and lasts only about two hours. For the price, that's OK. I now have something I can pull out for very hot summer days when other fragrances are too cloying, too fruity, too heavy to wear. This is an uplifting pretty simple perfume that's all about citrus with sandalwood and musk. It's an earthy scent to wear when you want something very light and simple that's a reminder of summertime breezes. For the ridiculous price of $3.99, I was satisfied. As far as the bottle, yes, the 1.7 ounce is shorter, but it still resembles a bamboo stalk, other than its bright orange see-through color. I have layered it with Dune and the two together are amazing.

I got this at Marshalls, but looked it up on my phone while I was there. It sounded like something I would like, and the picture on frangrantica shows a cute bottle. I open after purchasing, and although the box is exactly as pictured here, the perfume bottle style must have changed, because in lieu of the cute bamboo style bottle, there is a generic, cheap looking bottle not even worth of a dollar store fragrance. In fact, it's orangey pink. It was factory wrapped, and the bottle says Caribbean Joe's, so I'm majorly disappointed in how they cheapened the bottle. Now, to the juice. It's okay, but I was hoping for more based upon the listed notes here. What it is is mostly citrus, and more citrus. I like citrus, but I like it balanced with something else, and I have a hard time detecting anything else at all. It's sort of smells like a sugared lemon pledge furniture polish. It will make a nice refresher on a hot summer day though I'm sure. It's not super strong, and for the cheap five dollars I paid, I could use it as a room freshener. If you like perfumes that are all citrus, this is one to try. Edit: I've discovered why the bottle is weird looking. Mine is a 1.7 oz. bottle, so it is the same bottle only shortened, thereby losing the "bamboo" look which has that double layered bamboo look/shape. If you get the 3.4 oz. bottle, it's much cuter.

Purchased as a blind buy. The very first hit is caramel and citrus, unusual in combination, but appealing nonetheless. Itmakes me think of skin warmed by the sun, cooling breezes and relaxed lifestyles. I can see myself wearing this happily on holidays, or just to evoke memories of beach days. I am not getting powdery notes, as I usually get from Orris (thankfully, as I loathe powdery smells) the citrus gives an almost pineapple overtone, which with the caramel(from which notes, I do not know) gives a def gourmandish vibe. Not a flat out fruity though.Osmanthus is noticeable, not overpowering, giving an underlying creaminess. It is a steal at discounted prices, and lets be fair, it doesn't set out to compete with couture offerings, but it is FUN and refreshing, and I will get a lot of enjoyment from using this. Well worth a try, if you like semi-gourmands, beachy florals, or you are just up for a change.

Grabbed this at TJ Maxx for five bucks. Sprayed it on my wrist to test it and thought it was worth the price. While standing in the checkout line, the two women in front of me complicated me on what I was wearing. Once she was called to the next available register, she began yelling, "Good smelling man alert!" The cashier also complimented the fragrance & that prompted another cashier to run over to where I was standing and she also complimented. Two minutes, four compliments, five bucks! Hell, I didn't think it was THAT great, but how could I complain? A simple, clean, unpretentious scent, perfect for summer. A little citrusy, a little creamy, and a little sea-salty sweet. Fresh and pleasant, it's a must have for warmer weather. An awesome buy for the price!

This is actually the review for Caribbean Joe Misty Nights. I visited my Dollar Store and saw these and when it comes to perfume wether its a dollar or a hundred I just need to have it. But I was surprised at how good this smells. Even better than many of my other perfumes, far more expensive. So I came to see the notes, and surprise, its not listed. I keep on sniffing myself wondering if its my body chemistry that works with this or if it just smells that good plain and simple. Great find. This is my lullaby scent.

Citrus grooves , exotic flowers, golden sand, the ocean.... and sun lotion on hot skin. This scent is all good things being warmed by the sun. I've never actually smelled a solarnote on it's own, but if warm, golden sunshine had a smell, Caribbean Joe is what I would imagine that smell to be. And, FYI... This is a quality scent at a ridiculously low price point.
