Vladimir

This is really nice. Exceptionally well blended, Masculine leaning. Classy and elegant. Aromatic, woody and herbal. The dominant notes to my nose are sage #1, cedar #2, iris #3 and geranium #4. Lavender is not listed as a note, but I smell lavender as well. Subjectively, this loosely comes across to me in the fougere family, and a particularly easy going one at that. It would make a great signature scent or work scent. The dry down in Vladimir is the best part. It is soft, powdery and cotton candy on my skin. The collection's theme of seven lovers in seven cities is sexy and fun, but I know Carine's son is named Vladimir and I think her grandson is named George ... so, there's that. I’m assuming that the names in the line have one sexy, attention-grabbing meaning for marketing purposes, but in reality, a totally innocent and personal meaning for Carine Roitfeld. Its current Fragrantica score of 3.94 is too low. I give it an 8/10 and a Fragrantica score of 4.2

Spicy barbershop scent - and since I have a thing for this type of scents, this has to be my favorite from the discovery set. A very well rounded experience, with no sharp twists and turns. Masculinity encapsulated.

A classic fragrance with a truly beautiful drydown. I found myself smelling myself all night long. To me, this is the best from the house, next to George. It's pricey which limits it's mass appeal.

If you love Terra noire from Mad Et Len, you’ll love this. Fresh, smooth, and blended well. The dry down especially is where it shines. I recommend

A beautifully rounded and glamorous, milky, fig-like cedar is the first impression. I don't know if it's just me but I find fig, sandalwood and cedar notes sometimes closely related and generally avoid fig, especially the milky, sappy variety, so this could have been challenging for me. Fortunately this cedar is anchored in a warm envelope of grainy geranium, sage and what I mistook for tonka bean: a soft amber and lots of gentle, carrot-like orris root, giving it a beautiful earthy, nutty, semi-sweet quality. This is one for those who love their fig/sandalwood/cedar perfumes like Diptyque Philosykos and Le Labo Santal 33 but want something with more heart and warmth. Surprisingly romantic and gender-blended (iris vs sage, though read the other reviewers below), drying more ambery and a little coconutty, some unlisted vanilla in the tail. A sophisticated, diffuse, contemporary evening perfume.
