Odette

After I could no longer smell Dolce&Gabbana's Light Blue on myself (and was really sad about that!!!) I started looking for a similar scent. I tried Moschino, Bond No 9, Lanvin... they all felt somewhat off. They were close to LightBlue, but there was always some note that ruined it for me. They were definitely no substitute for my well-loved D&G. Then I came across Odette. Odette is not trying to be an identical twin to LightBlue, and that is what I like. Odette is close to LightBlue, but different enough that the two cannot really be compared - they are more like fraternal twins who each have their own character and tastes and looks. Odette is the slightly darker twin (less lemon, more jasmine), but also the softer one (less wood in the dry down, more coconut - although coconut is not listed in the description - and ALAS! less sillage). Odette could be my new go-to summer fragrance - if only it projected more. I will certainly use up the bottle I have. I am not yet sure if I will rebuy when it's gone.

It opens with such a transparent apple-melon note, even more delicate as paired with an aquatic touch, that one might think it is a dewy rose. Aethereally, suddenly flying like a ballerina's leap which fills the air with a vibrant, transparent freshness. And exactly like the ballerina hits the floor again with gracious precision (but only to fly again in the next moment), the perfume evolves and alternate the aethereal facet with slightly telluric, woodsy-musky notes (cedar, mahogany, amber, musk) without loosing its diaphanous lightness. What initially might appear as an usual aquatic fruity reveals its entire charm only progressively, exactly a the ballet "Swan Lake" reveals step by step a dramatic plot. Like when you think "Oh, just another classic ballet", the artist starts to impress you more and more with her masterfull dance, taking you into a world of magical charm! No sillage monster (but have you expected one?), but definitely present and leaving a lasting impression. Added one day later: and, interestingly, except the delightfull scent on the skin, it seems to me that an additional trail lingers in the air, exactly how our emotions are addressed by a bellet, firstly visual, and additionally at the magic level of fantasy.

Ooooh, it is really really really beutiful perfume!!!I try it today and ... I fall in love ;-) In my opinion it is similar like DG Light Blue or S.Dali Sea & Sun in Cadaques, so I can recommend it for fans of fresh marine type of fragrance. Top notes was little bit heavier (maybe because of pineapple), but not too much, but after 5 minutes "oh yeah" it was so delicious, energising - i smelled a bit of lemon with freesia, melon and jasmine, but it wasn ́t strong but really gentle. I would like to have it in my bathroom.
