******Update July-28, 2025****** So yeah, about two weeks since Id first sprayed Carlo Corinto Classic and the intensity has certainly improved (Thankfully) wasn't terrible at first, just NOT having the same experience tghat others have reported here on Fragrantica, but again, much improved. Smells VERY GOOD, and since the performance seems to have improved with "Maturation", Im bumping this scent up from an 8 to a 9 outta 10 within the "Classic Fougere Genre". Also I for one like Carlo Corinto EVEN MORE than Jacques Bogart Signature, and honestly, these go in different directions after the opening. The Jacques Bogart Signature is quite "Soapy" which I love, but Carlo Corinto has a more prominent Leather note along with that hint of semi sweet, tart Raspberry sweetness... PERFECTO!!😉👌 ----------------------------------------------------- (Original Green Bottle/packaging) Smells very nice! A classic "Green Fougere" which initially smells like Jacques Bogart Signature, but veeres away from that soapy dna and becomes more tart/sweet because of that awesome Raspberry note. Now this does NOT smell like "Raspberry" in the dry-down. What the raspberry note does is add that hint of sweetness and tartness along with the Basil and the clean yet strong Patchouli and Leather base. The longevity is great lasting around 8 hours on skin, but I dont really think Carlo Corinto Classic meant to be is a big projector tbh. It seems to sit closer to the skin and I think projects about arm's length at most, but I do believe this leaves more of a " Scent Trail" vs having a huge scent-bubble. My ONLY gripe is the rinky-dink ATROCIOUS ATOMIZER!!. It offers these exceedingly small, short, super wide puffs which just dont let out enough "Juice" (Hate that in a fragrance). So Id say that you'd need to double, or tripple up on your application routine with this ONLY bc of the meek a$$ atomizer. For example, if ya normally do 3 spritzes on your neck, Id do between 5 and 6 spritzes depending on the occasion ofcourse.. Again, thats also and especially bc as for right now, and since my bottle is brand- new hasn't "Matured" at all, the projection is not very strong. So Im hoping that changes a bit and it gets a tad stronger atleast. Anyways, I really like this one. An 8 oitta 10 within its genre of fragrance. Again, that Raspberry makes Carlo Corinto Classic stand-apart from the rest😉

I recently got a vintage bottle of this, it has a barcode but no green dot on the box so i assume really early 90s. For what i paid, and with the awesome suprise i had discovering this relatively obscure fragrance, im extremely happy. This, to me, belongs to a group of fragrances perhaps without a name but that includes rochas globe, maxims pour homme and other such turn-of-the-decade polite "soft pine" (fir?) Vibed fragrances. These weren't "super macho" 80s powerhouse frags, but they still incorporated both complexity and an interesting progression with changes as they dried down which kept one foot in the 80s for them. Of course this came out before the others i mentioned, apparently way back in 1984. The raspberry note which i suppose is the most "famous" aspect of this fragrance does not come off as juicy, particularly strong or natural. Frankly, while i still like what it does for the fragrance, its almost dryer sheet feeling in the opening. However, the nice herbs and a greeness combine with the raspberry note as it dries down and the sense of dryer sheets goes away, leaving a tartness. The fir or "soft pine" thing becomes more obvious also which seemed kind of hidden by the dryer sheet freshness upon first spray. As the fragrance goes into the drydown, it becomes a bit smoky to me. I dont know if its the vetiver or what (which you CAN pick out earlier in the life of the wearing but it comes off more grassy then). Oakmoss is present but i definetely never thought "wow this is an oakmoss bomb" personally. Its more probably just used functionally rather than to stand out. I also get patchouli which probably adds to the smoky aspect of both the leather and possibly the vetiver. A tiny hint of that original raspberry note remains to add a small but perfect bit of incensey sweetness to it all. Its an above average performer, lasts a work day at least and projects enough that you notice it here and there for many hours. Its typically pretty cheap, and its unique. I have alot to choose from but I've been wearing this alot since i got it.

Carlo Corinto is a great, mexican - originated haute couture brand. This Classic release for men was one of their first fragrances and the composition was created in 1984 in Mexico City. I have a certain nostalgia feeling towards it because i recall smelling it back in '20 during lockdown. I had a few bottles of it (Even when being 19 at the time) and i remember i wore it to a date in Valentine's Day of '21. The girl said she hated the smell of leather XD On me, CCC opens up with bright lemon and bergamot, alongside aromatic notes. I notice pine a bit later, the woods, a touch of the leather, earth and oakmoss, even when not being listed in the notes, it has a good dose of it. (The current box lists Evernia Prunastri as an ingredient, meaning that even in current formulation, it has natural oakmoss to it) But really what sets this Carlo Corinto apart from its contemporaries is the liberal use of raspberry. It's like painting a bright red line in the middle of a painting with only green and brown on it. Completely changes the vibe of the fragrance. Beautiful scent overall. I think it's versatile enough and timeless to like be worn daily or by young men. This is much better than any blue fragrance.

I think this composition has some similarities with Aramis. The result is very different, but just as powerful. As I remember, it used to have less raspberry or maybe no raspberry at all... it was darker, something I miss in my new bottle (the other one was very old, maybe exposure to light modified it). It's very versatile, in this city you can wear it any season, any time of day. Still great and powerful. Great value at that price range. *** Me parece que esta composición es similar a la de Aramis. El resultado es muy diferente, pero igualmente poderoso. Como la recuerdo, tenía menos frambuesa o ninguna... era más oscura, cosa que extraño en esta nueva botella (la anterior era muy vieja, quizá la exposición a la luz la modificó). Es muy versátil, en esta ciudad la puedes usar en cualquier temporada, cualquier momento del día. Es aún grandiosa y poderosa. Gran valor a ese rango de precio.

This fragrance is very nice, it's got the classic 80s woodsy fougere vibe but with a little shaving cream hint added to it. This fragrance also features a very characteristic acid note provided by the raspberry; all in all a very distinctive cologne. As for performance, 10+ hours of longevity on skin (at least on me) and good projection. If you want to get an idea of how this smells, take Brut classic, make it a little darker adding some Polo green and top it off with a strong note of raspberry. I gave this to my dad as a father's day gift, and even though it's not my cup of tea (just yet) I get why people like it, if you like classic masculine fragrances, this is definitely worth a look, a classic 80s fragrance made interesting and kind of fun with that raspberry twist. Great to wear both day and night during Winter and Fall but in my opinion Spring is where this fragrance shines.

Carlo Corinto is a subdued, lush and dense forest. Its notes are deftly understated and the hue is a ferny and fresh green, with a beautiful sillage and impressive longevity. It smells very prestigious. There is a muted spicy accord in the background that is utterly captivating. How can this elegant perfume ever be out of style? I regret not paying attention to this sooner. I have seen it on shelves in perfume stores forever. This is not an in-your-face powerhouse, rather it is akin to a great basso like Samuel Ramey singing sotto voce. I would wear this for any occasion. The atomizer is excellent. The bottle is solid and stylish and so is the packaging. A winner!

Lately, I've been looking at this fragrance at every department store in town, being sold indivually or in attractive sets that include shower gel, after shave lotion, soap bar, liquid talcum and a pocket container. But what really catches my eye is th siz of the bottle in those sets, from the traditional 3.4 (100 ml), 6.8 (200 ml) and 27.2 (800 ml). This a classic oustanding fragrance, that seduced my nose 30 years ago, when I was 15 and believe, I still like it as much as then, and can be worn all year long, both for day and night, at the office, casual formal dress code or an elegant evening. Juts like the publicity campaign says: the return of the gentleman.

What a fine,fine fragrance!But is a true great fit of this house of creating very well crafted scents with few notes and with such multifaced and evolving potions!This classic scent is really on par with other much famous ones of the time!I love it's greeness,it's exuding class and it's powerful presence,it is like Man-thing on a tuxedo entering the ballroom!

This has got to be the weirdest "smells like" list ive ever seen lol. Almost all of them have nothing to do with each other as far as smell. Kinda intrigues me though. Might check this out.

Keeping this short. Its great. Unique, lasting, fresh, citrus, nature, green, manly. Worth the buy.

Carlo Corinto comes across to me as a very elegant blend of primarily natural ingredients. The citrus and lavender opening quickly gives way to a mellow green and woody accord, with cedarwood more prominent on my skin than the pine or carnation, and the transition to the amber and leather base notes is smoothly done. I don't get the comparisons to Aramis or Francesco Smalto at all --- Corinto has none of the tangy spice notes of Aramis, nor the opening citrus-green blast of Smalto. I'd place it in the same family as Basile Uomo or Oscar de la Renta's Pour Lui --- a refined leathery chypre with prominent green notes. It is of a good strength (which to me means simply that one needs to use less), but not overpowering, and it does linger pleasantly. The image I get is fresh, green, and outdoorsy, but not a pine forest nor a tropical jungle. I'd call it more of a well-tended garden with strategically placed shade trees and shrubs among the fragrant herbs --- a place for a quiet and reflective stroll.

The current Classic edition is first and foremost a fresh, airy, floral fragrance (a fruity rose - sorry, “rasberry” - blended with carnation) that slowly introduces a pleasant, light, 1980s style leather note. It uses a touch of the herbal notes used in the great aromatic fougeres of its period, but nowhere near as much as I was anticipating. The citruses are toned down and near non-existent, it feels like you are beginning the fragrance in the mid. if you have worn One Man Show Oud Edition then you will have some idea how this smells, that combination of One Man Show with a fruity rose note.

The most intriguing thing in this fougère is a nice raspberry that does not overwhelm the woody and aromatic notes but just gives you something a little different to pick out, and which sweetens the whole accord by a tiny bit. The downside (to me) is that the whole thing is a little bit too soapy, so it doesn't quite come across as much as a wild raspberry bush in a forest as i would have liked. Still, this is genuinely pleasant and easier to wear than some other green leathers for men such as Aramis and Yatagan, even if it is not as memorable or evocative.

Could anyone enlighten me about this wonderful woody fougere "old school" fragrance? I've just received a new bottle and I can perceive a discordant and prominent sweet note (probably raspberry) which wasn't present in previous bottles...is this sweet and jarring version of CCC an older or a new version of this masterpiece? I would apreciatte any clue about this matter in order to keep including this joy in my top 5...thanks ;)

I like classic green, herbal leaning scents. Carlo Corinto is a classic green, herbal scent. However, I do not find this rendition particularly pleasant. Prices and performance are good. For comparison, I like Bogart by Bogart (Signature) much better.

I've got this vintage bottle of Carlo Corinto and what a divine composition. I love my herbal notes, and this does not fail to deliver, as it opens with a panoply of aromatics, fresh, zingy, tart, with just the right sharpness to give you that swift kick and set you in motion. Now, the real kicker that ensures that Carlo Corinto is just another woody aromatic facsimile of the mid-80s is that we are treated with a raspberry note that interacts with the thyme, sage, and basil in a manner that reminds me of walking along the perimeter of the cranberry bogs with my mother as a child (I grew up in Massachusetts), picking wild raspberries and blueberries, the smell of the leaves under the summer sun, the wafts of cranberry tartness. I love when a certain fragrance can just sort of deliver you to a nice scent memory. This tart, moderately sweet herbal diffusion in time descends into a more shady, earthy woods, more olive-green hued and reflective. This is a real delight and not "samey" at all for those hesitant to reach for yet another from this genre. Be warned though, I have no idea what the newer iterations are like.

Cuando era pequeño, a principio de los 90's mi papá usaba este perfume y me parecía delicioso. Cuando empecé a coleccionar fragancias compré una botella de Carlo Corinto y el aroma era exactamente a como lo recordaba pero mi nariz había cambiado demasiado, al grado de parecerme horrible el olor de esta fragancia. Me parece un aroma a pino muy sintético y corriente, masculino sí pero nada placentero. Simplemente no pude con él aunque deseaba que me gustara. En fin, terminé por dárselo a mi papá.

Edit 22 oct 2011-- Well , seems nobody has reviewed this fragance lately , so ill go again , now reviewing the new formula , the one now being sold as CARLO CORINTO CLASSIC , for starters , the fragance begans with a really loud cumin note , that i dont remember from previous editions , gone is the sweetness from the last reformulation ( thank god ), so i think the raspberry note is out... anyway is just now a really nice fougere , a little more discreet , but still great...

I like this fragrance. I get a boozy vetiver patchouli and cedar gentlemen's fragrance a la old school 70's style. Very Euro crisp clean and elegant. The performance was just a little better than below average. Sort of reminds me of Francesco Smalto in a way or at least the same genere. Why didn't I buy it ? The performance and longevity sucked. Amp it up and I would purchase this in a heartbeat........" YAWN....SIGH....ZZZZzzzzzz"

I'm a woman in my thirties. I rarely compliment men based on their perfume, but I did with this one. He's an engineer in his 50's, and I knew it was a classic from the moment I smelled it. I'm not sure what version he was wearing, but it confirmed my love for basil in perfumery. I can't believe my father never wore this; he's always loved the fougere vibe.
