Carlos Santana for Women

Imagine if it were possible if JLo's Miami Glow could have a "baby", sort of speak, with Missoni edp. (orange bottle). You have the coconut and tropical fruits from MG, but the warm, sweet gourmand notes and floral accords from Missoni. This combination makes a very beautiful fragrance that I actually prefer over the other two. It is long-lasting & smells more expensive than it is. It's very sexy, I can imagine this being a hit with the guys, since most men seem to like sweet, edible notes & warm, sultry dry downs. Definitely an underrated & often overlooked fragrance.

A friend sent me a decant of this one. I'm wearing it today. I really like it. It does have a lot of similarities to my nose as Avon Tomorrow for women, but with a more masculine tendency. It's probably too similar to Tomorrow for me to seek this out since I have plenty of Tomorrow on hand. If I saw it at the store for a fabulous price I would grab it though. It's just enough different to be a nice addition to my collection. If you are a gender bender and like lots of varieties of scents and like fragrances like Organza and Tomorrow I'd say go for it.

I bought this as a gift for my GF. But I think this is a unisex fragrance. It's quite amusing. The first time I tried this, I can only smell the coconut & sandalwood note. Then my GF tried it on her, and I can clearly smell the Chocolate & coconut combo, with a sandalwood in the background. I can't really smell the iris though. The first 3 minutes is quite harsh, there's that synthetic smell that's a bit too overwhelming. But the dry down is wonderful. I even sometimes wear it for myself. Versatility 9/10 Scent 8/10 Sillage 8/10 Longevity 7.5/10

This is so rich and classy. It smells like it was made to wear on a hot summer night. Off the bat I can smell the sandalwood,coconut,chocolate and plum. This scent knocked my socks off. I find it to be very elegant, yet fun. A tropical surprise in a bottle!! Update: After wearing this for a few hours, it it still enchanting! The scent sits a bit closer to the skin. The longevity on this is short one, so enjoy it until you can reapply in 3 hours. The soft powdery layer comes through along with the pear. Lovely!

This is a perfect warm weather scent. It does go on sort of strong at first, but as other reviewers have said, it mellows into a warm and cozy scent. You can certainly get the coconut note right away. It does have a sort of similar JLO "Miami Glow" vibe to it. I also get a ton of chocolate in the dry down. It almost smells like a chocolate covered coconut macaroon on my skin. I can see using this alot this Summer. Very nice for a cheap blind buy!

This is The One. When you see him, you know he's the one, and when he turns to talk to you your first breath freezes and you're full of butterflies. You don't want to mess up on your only chance. This is it, the one and only. The perfume of romance (coconut, musk, chocolate) and playfulness (minty bubblegum?) that takes your breath away. I get nervous even thinking about wearing it..

This one is quite special, but you need some time to get to know it! It resembles Princess form Vera Wang as well. I love it, but not a standard perfume, a special one!!

Yesterday I smelled this one again! AMAZING!!! Gorgeous strong gourmand perfume and REAL value for your money! Stayes a very long time too! EXCELLENT choice!

I just wish it lasted longer. What a wonderful combination of spicy and crisp. The body lotion is warmer and less powdery than the EDT.

Sharp & almost alcoholic to start - a fermented tropical fruit punch - but then Santana mellows into a mid-weight, warm & "golden" scent, just like the bottle. A little bit floral (lily) a little bit fruity, Santana lazily slides into a sunset oriental filled with musky, woodsy, caramel plums & coconut. Not too sugary, it has a nice level of sweetness tempered by the smooth sandalwood & dark chocolate. I agree with Action that there is a slight resemblance to Princess in the dry-down, but Santana never goes girly or reaches P's fuzzy sweetness. Pretty good, all-in-all...but I'm not running out to buy it.

If anyone knows where I can get some or a very similar scent, please inform me. This is a summer favorite for when I grow tired of the limes, pineapples, and grapefruits everywhere. What I picked up from Carlos Santana for Women was a caramel note tempered by coconut and iris. I never smelled the neroli but then, neroli is fleeting to my nose although it's one of my favorites. The warm, musky drydown was perfection. The best thing about CS was that it left just the right sillage trail and everyone roundly loved it on me, especially men. I always felt sexy wearing CS. It is missed!

The opening has a sort of a Woody Masculine scent then it dries down to a smell of Coconut and Chocolate. This is a nice scent but nothing to to wright home about these are my So So frangrances i smelled better They don't have a Certain Pep Like with Calvin Klien Obsession Red Door Or Of Course The Empress of Fragrances Chanel no 5 But it's own way it stands on it's own.

This is a gorgeous scent. I love the powdery floral mixed with coconut. This is probably comparable to Miami Glow in terms of tropical fruitty, warm woody dry down. I think this is an overlooked fragrance and deserves to be considered if you are looking for something warm and cozy for a wet spring, or something really yummy for summer.

Yummie sweet/fresh opening with recognizable notes of lily, cassia, plum and pear. The dry down comes rather fast and is slightly powdery (iris) with chocolate and coconut notes, but not in an overtly sweet nor gourmand way. Sillage and longevity appear to be fine on my skin.

I just revisited this recently. I like it, though I don't love it. Good summery scent but it doesn't last very long. I kinda reminds me of Miami Glow but MG lasts much longer.

I had this, and it always smelled really masculine on me. I ended up giving it to my son. I don't know why it smells so different on me then what these other reviews say. Hmm. Must be my body chemistry.

Interesting scent, not exactly what I'd expect from Carlos Santana. What would I expect from Santana? Oh, I dunno, something along the lines of Black Magic Woman, on the dark side, with notes of incense, patchouli, amber maybe some deep red roses, something exotic. Perhaps something with a Latin flair, or a hippie-esque scent, something spicy and/or earthy. But that's just me. Here we have Carlos Santana for women, which in spite of my preconceptions, isn't so bad. Starts off very fruity, as in slightly fermented fruit. I do think I have to beware of juice in orange bottles because this, and Liberte by Cacheral, both give a ripe fruit scent, Liberte much more so-that dries as rotten fruit on my skin. (I'm sure not all juice in orange bottles smells the same, but both these bottles sort of reminded me of each other) But the fruits in CS dry down quickly leaving an enjoyable beachy gourmand scent, not too bad. I smell more coconut than chocolate. It's something I'd wear in summer, I'll put it away for then. Would I go out and buy a bottle? I already did, a steal at the price. A blind buy, but not a regrettable one.

this fragrance has a long story for me. If I recall, I got it on sale in Perfumania few years back. After trying it, decided it was too "chypre" for me and gave it away to my mom. Recently I was staying with my mom and she still has almost a full bottle. Tried it again and OMG-this is so nice and so NOT what I thought it was initially. It has sweet powdery unisex vibe, (i am assuming because of iris) and I am probably thinking that because it totally reminded me of Prada L'Homme Intense which I owned and which while a long lasting scent, has no projection on me. Carlos Santana projects several feet when sprayed which is AMAZING. Love that. And lasting power is superb. Can't believe I gave it away. And it certainly not "chypre", I don't know what on earth I was thinking. Its more of incensy floral oriental? Either way I will be "borrowing" a spritz or two from my mom. This scent is boss chick scent to me, not for the wall flowers.

On my skin this is a bit muddy. The scent occasionally has an amazing lily, pear, or freesia note. I typically have trouble wearing iris and this is no exception. However, on my best friend it is absolutely magical. The cassias is sharp and herbal, the lily sweet and pronounced, the pear and coconut add sweetness and it floats on a sea of sandalwood. All I could do is say "wow" and hand her the bottle. So I'd say this is rather skin dependent and amazing on the right person. If you're someone who's skin tends to love sandalwood like my friend is I strongly recommend you try this. If you don't do iris well this might not be for you. The longevity isn't bad either. So far it's passed the six hour mark.

I bought this today at a discount store at a really great price. I was hoping for something sort of moody that would smell like woodstock. Instead, I got something light and feminine. This is pretty and reserved. The coconut is readily detectable, but this doesn't smell anything like suntan lotion, which is the fear when reading the list of notes. Before they discontinued it I wore L'Occitane Feuille d' Herbe Florale & Fraiche almost daily. I've missed it these last several years. Carlos Santana's use of coconut is very similar, as is the blending of florals and fruit. This is a very pretty smell. I'm happy to have gotten a bargain, but I'd have paid full price for it.

"Blind buy".....one of the best ones I've made this year. I like everything about this perfume. I should stock up on it before it goes away. It is soft and yet spicy. It's one of those perfume where it gets you at the first whif of it. It has the notes that I love in it and even though it doesn't smell like Organza's Indecence,it has that appealing smell where you want to keep smelling it. There is nothing (in my opion) that is offensive about this perfume and for the money, hey....don't delay. I will leave an update as I put it on for the day....why it wears and bares.

Oh how I wanted to love you. I was sure I would love you. The reviews and notes hypnotized me into a blind buy. I wanted you for your coconut, but our chemistry just wasn't there. We weren't meant to be. I could not smell any fruity goodness at all, let alone coconut. Just powder. I brought out the powder in you, which is not what I planned. I am broken hearted. For those who want to love you, you are very long lasting. Very strong on the first spray. You dry down nicely and are very warm. Perhaps in another lifetime.

So very sexy! Love, love, love this! I have never been able to distinguish the different notes in a fragrance, but with this one I can for some reason. It is very long lasting. Very summery fragrance. Can't be overwhelming but definitely hot. Can be worn during the day and in the evening. It does remind me about hot summer nights with people dancing and good vibes. I'd definitely say it is one of those scents that celebrities release with the sub-name 'Summer' as it does have a summer spirit in it. Not fresh but hot and tropical.

Thanks to the advice and the accurate sense 'fragrance-person' of NathalieZ I have a sample of this jewel. On my skin is a woody-gourmand fragrance... a kind of sharp Miami Glow in the beginning and then...... I have an aura of sweet creamy plum chocolate..... this fragrance reaaaaaaally works for me

Goes on strong and sharp, but after about an hour mellows to a sexy, musky scent. I like the coconut note - reminds me of the beach. This has a big personality and should be used sparingly. Would probably be enjoyed by women who like Opium and other strong florientals.

This is a fragrance that actually smells like what the box looks like, if that makes any sense. At first it's very nice: juicy orange, warm coconut, and sassy spices. Then on my skin all of the notes seem to separate and it takes on a chaotic quality.

A nice light scent, with warm floral notes, but it doesn't really last long on me and it isn't really as different as the notes suggest. I was a little disappointed, as I was expecting something with a little more raunch and rock to it.

I loved this for the first 2 years I had it and then my body chemisty must have changed because now it gives me a headache, I wish I could still wear it. It is a nice oriental.

quite thrilled to get a very large tester bottle of this today,so far enjoying it there in the crook of my elbow.Quite a strong coconut presence.

Love this....is a bit overpowering on first spray but after a while it settles to a warmth and cosiness.
