Despite the criticism that Carner Barcelona is “late” to the rose, saffron, and oud party that finished 5 years ago, Bestium has a strong performance as an extrait. For those who find the scent works well with their skin, it's a delightful experience, while for others, it may be a challenging one.

Two days and two showers in and i can still smell it on my hand. Smells amazing, great quality refoned oud and rose, with a bunch of smoky sweetness in the drydown. The price is fair for the quality and I managed to pick this up from amazon for a 100€.

You get what you pay for. If you love rose and oud you need to try this. It's closest to Les Sables Roses. It might be too redundant for those who already own Les Sables Roses and would like to keep it a tight-knit collection.

Close to loving it, even on my feminine skin. But I imagine it must be even better on an adventurous male. It's full of narcotic, deep, dark aromas. Laudanum makes it deliciously bitter, herbal and intoxicating as canvas. Added to it is a subtle dose of smoky incense and a bit of dark, aromatic wood - possibly it is oud because it has certain soft and powdery edge, the aroma is well drowned by laudanum at its best. Through this darkness, floral bitter and intriguing saffron is the main ingredient, with interesting fresh facet by a rose. There is a lot of wet patchouli supporting laudanum, too. A grain of sweetness is the osmanthus catching up on the wind. Very black, velvety, wet and adventurous beast.

Quite a good rose oud. Oud accord smells quite natural. There is probably a pretty good dose of that natural oud that they are so proud of in the marketing description. Perhaps because of this choice to use predominantly natural over synthetic oud elements, the performance is just average. This extrait isn't particularly strong, even for parfum concentration standards. Nothing from Carner is especially long lasting, but on the upside, nothing I've tried has smelt at all synthetic. If you can find a bottle at a good price from discounters, this would be a fantastic deal. Nothing groundbreaking, just a rose oud done right. The osmanthus in here is pretty unique actually.

Strong smoky rose / oud fragrance, but once it settles down, it becomes nice and smooth.

Carner Barcelona is two decades late to the rose, saffron and oud party. Starts out harsh, then mellows into a petroleum rose scent with some incense. Bestium is an extrait and performs as such. If the scent works on your skin that will be a plus, for the rest it’s a nightmare.

Hands all over the place. "You smell so... sensual... so.... sexual. You smell like a man, I can't help myself." Boy, was I glad she didn't get a taste of the overwhelming animalics in the beginning, and that the rose subsided just in time for her to experience only the earthy labdanum/incense oud with hints of something animalic.

This smells so manly and rough hewn, so definitely not unisex enough on my skin. The osmanthus and rose are literally buried under incense, wood and oud. I’m disappointed as the listed notes for this fragrance got my hopes up.
