Drakon

Initial impressions Wearing Carner Drakon yet again. About my seventh wear in a couple weeks of owning this. I feel like this fragrance makes like ten others in my wardrobe unnecessary. How can I describe it? Guerlain Bois Mysterieux but rendered with the rough edges of TF Noir Anthracite and shades of Gucci Guilty absolute. But a more prominent givco oud, too. There's also a lot of eugenol...clove and pimento berries (to my nose). One of the largest doses of isobutyl quinoline/pyralone I've encountered, and tons of oak moss (real oak moss listed in the ingredients, woo!) In the dry down. Tucked under all the spicy fire and brimstone and black leather is a green fougere like the original Polo. In summary, It's some kind of mashup of: Bond Harrods Oud (also know as Harrods Swarovski Oud. ) yes, the same AMAZING oud accord from that scent, similar leather (but more pronounced) but overall much drier and harsher without the prominent myrrh of Harrods Oud. The orange blossom/bay leaf/greenery from Guerlain's Bois Mysterieux. The edgy pepper and galbanum of Noir Anthracite, and a similar dark green/black/purple vibe (though with much more burnt orange, some again to the Guerlain in that regard). The classic even everso slightly soapy greenness from classic Polo. Maybe even some Italian Cypress too - been awhile since I've smelled that but it is popping into my head for some reason. Overall it is dark green and a bit ashen but there's this glowing orange ember (the pulsating red pepper warmth of the isobutyl quinoline and eugenol tempered by a deep and woody/herbal orange blossom) that is ever present and makes it a bit warmer and more approachable than Noir Anthracite or say, French Lover. The oud in this smells very much like Bond Harrods Oud (green/gold bottle) which is my favorite rendition of oud. The spices and deep orange blossom very distantly remind me of L'anarchiste but this is much deeper and darker, and with that edgy green bite of French Lover or Noir Anthracite. This is an extrait de Parfum and performs like one. Two sprays max - projection is great for many hours and longevity is almost too long, the oak moss and leather are still fairly noticeable 24 hours later after a shower.

Oh. my. God. Yup, absolute love. The first try surprised me. I liked it but wasn't entirely sold, it seemed to stick close to skin. Second wear I was active and caught whiffs of it and I was thrilled. Third time I paid more attention to it and by the time it wore out I was ordering a bottle. Another winner from Carner Barcelona. I'm admittedly a huge fan of Carner's black/bestial series and this is no exception. As a lover of dragons, this is an absolute wonder. The brand's description is actually very accurate to me. That cypress/cypriol opening along with that musky (no musk here, so maybe the neroli gives that effect?? or the akigalawood?) edge is very much what I'd expect. It's smoky, musky and as a reptile lover, there's that edge of reptilian smell in there, very faint but it's there alright (for the unaware, it's a slightly fishy, musty smell). Then 5-10 minutes in, that blast of peppery, spicy smoke with a very faint oudy hint (there's no oud here, it's the actual akigalawood, to me it's like a darker cedar aroma, possibly supported by the balsam fir) and then leather wraps it up and keeps it from becoming too harsh. It's warm, fiery, musky, dangerous, mysterious and confidence-boosting. Drakon is right. This is draconic and I love it. So enough dragon gushing. Beyond the notes description, this shares clear DNA similarities to Liquides Imaginaire's Buveur de Vent (another house which I adore). It shares the leather and the spice but whereas Buveur has that basmati rice kind of vibe and a more equine edge, Drakon leans smokier and pepper-forward. This lasts a good while, although not as long as Buveur de Vent, much sadly. I get about 5-6 hours on skin (Buveur will last all day, 8 and more). I still adore this and sometimes you're just going out and want something statement making. This will do it. Dressed up, this will get you noticed for sure. Colder seasons will work for this, obviously. You could get away with it on cooler nights in the warmer seasons but apply sparingly.

Without a doubt, this is one of the finest compositions I've ever had the pleasure of smelling. Admittedly, I’m biased—I have a soft spot for anything in the aromatic-woody family—but even taking that into account, this fragrance is exceptional. The cypress lends a crisp, green freshness, while the sandalwood and leather bring just the right amount of depth and sophistication. It’s a complex, well-balanced scent that makes a strong case for becoming your go-to fragrance on spring or summer evenings. Performance-wise, it holds its own with over 8 hours of longevity and a modest yet noticeable projection. I was fortunate enough to snag it at half-price during a sale. But honestly... I’d happily pay full price for this bottle of olfactory brilliance.

For the first 30 minutes to an hour, it smells like a dragon breathing down your neck while you’re standing in the middle of a pine forest. It’s truly spectacular. After that, it dries down into a more mature, foresty scent. The sulfurous, almost likes it’s going to lit on fire smell fades away, leaving behind a deep woody scent. On my skin, it lasts at least 8 hours. 9.8/10

Oh wow. Smells a bit like Kilian’s Dark Lord or some of the masculine Bottega Venetas. Black leather based fir and cypress with woods and pepper. Masculine, dry, aromatic woody and leather with decent performance for those who miss the discontinued Bottegas (not to mention their performance) or want something close to Dark Lord, but not a Dark Lord.

Update a few weeks in: this is quite an amazing scent This is the better version of Oud for Greatness what a wonderful oud, spicy, citrusy, leathery scent not harsh at all super smooth and classy lasts quite a while

Blast of cypriol oil followed by aromatic-leather tones, fades more to a woody-leather by minute 5 with mild smokiness, fall-winter. Not for blind buy

Smells like a woodier darker version of Caron Yatagan. Love it.

Drakon is inspired by a dragon and I can easily see why. It's a powerful and robust fragrance. I smell a burst of black pepper and cypriol in the opening -- the dragon's ferocious, fiery breath. After roaring to life with a bracing beginning, Drakon settles into a very smooth mix of fir tree, cypress, and leather. This dragon lives deep in a coniferous forest enshrouded by fog. If you become lost while hiking, he'll either eat you or guide you to safety. This perfume clings to my skin even after a shower, leaving the memory of a woodland dragon encounter deeply embedded in my flesh.

A rounded, smooth'ed up version of TF Noir Anthracite. The smell profile is there, but the blend is way more smooth. I like it but just like with Noir Anthracite I doubt I would reach for it often but it was a pleasant surprise by Carner, whose collection of fragrances never really caught my attention before. I'd say it's a good buy at around at least 30% discount.

The opening is surprisingly strong. It's a burst of warm pepper and dry papyrus (on me). That dry, papery accord remains for a couple hours, but after that is when this fragrance shines. A smooth, creamy orange blossom (and perhaps a subtle hint of vanilla?) works its way forward to round out the sharpness of the fragrance and add a bit of complexity. Once the woody and leathery elements also appear, this fragrance becomes very well-rounded and enjoyable. This doesn't really strike me as smoky, but perhaps the spiciness in the opening gives some people that impression.

Not a huge fan but I think that's personal preference over actual quality. I'm not a fan of "green" scents, the pepper was a strong note but the pine/fir stood out a little too much for me. Spicy yet cold. It does evoke cold-blooded fire-breather, so they fulfilled the prompt well if you're going for draconic, but glad I went for a tester bottle instead of a full-size blind buy as definitely not my thing.

Dirty, rusty, metallic man-stuff. Drakon is a traditional conifer aromatic, fresh and fougère-like, smoothed out with a wash of glassy ambroxan and propped on a mild, greasy, leathery, smoky cypriol oil base. It's dominated by deep, pungent, earthy cypress and strong, incense-like fir notes with some thin, peppery akigalawood (or light, refined patchouli) in support. As traditionally masculine as they come and packs a punch that comes with a price tag.

Too strong, heavy, and smoky. You really need to be in the right mood for this one.

Never had spanish perfume until now. I like this one, I really wanted to have it, and wondered weeks to buy it for such expensive. As 50 ml costs 230 eur.- Well I bought today and I can say however the scent itself very nice, for me it is for men as a very masculine scent. There is something special in it, mightbe the leather accord was makes it special. Beginning is powerfull, bitter and sweet at the same time and spicy. This spicy side stais for the whole time with you. Spillage is ok, get on a bus and everyone around me looked at me “that way “ that their nose is full with my scent. Actually I used about 3 sprays and it might be too much. The beginning is really strong. About longevity I am not reall sure, as it is an extrait de perfume, I spraid about 8 hrs before but still feel it however not that strong anymore. Maybe others d say something different I don t know- am alone at home now. :) I think a bit overpriced , but it is unique for sure. For me : Longevity 8/10 Scent 9/10 Spillage 10/10.

Carner's Drakon is a vigorous fragrance, ignited by black pepper, cypress, leather accords, sandalwood, and betel leaf. The opening is warm, crisp, and amalgamates two distinct olfactory experiences: woody coniferous and spicy leather. Then in what appears to be a startling grouping of notes, the heart-shaped betel leaf reassigns its role to center stage alongside the aged leather and wood accords. The earthy oud, akigalawood then lends some magic with its distinct peppery and slightly bitter nuances. Drakon could be taciturn and secretive, but that's not his style. As it develops, I pick this discrete dark leathery smokiness that unabashedly screams for attention. The excitement is intense; and in a flicker of time, Drakon smoulders and sizzles. At the beginning is quite sour and animalic (like animal origin musk, it overpowers initially the parfum). But just after that it turns into something surprisingly well blended, you can feel the quality: cut dark tree leaves, the profundity of moisturized wood, the pepper (like the pepper you smell within food). Long performance, when I woke up I still smelled a green note attached to my skin, elegant and pleasant, without the initial sourness. It's definitely classical and masculine but at the same is delicate, intense without bothering, and not too sweet. My only problem with this parfum is the high price, for that price I miss a little more original or unique feeling. But it's a really enjoyable manly green parfum, maybe I'd buy at discount.

Amazing stuff. Reminds me of a burning pine forest with some dark leather in the background, so the dragon imagery is very on point. This would be an instant all-time favorite if the performance was better. So sad that it only projects well for a couple of hours and lasts as a skin scent for maybe 5-6... this will be plenty for some people so I can't judge it too harshly - it just isn't going to be one I wear to my 12 hour shifts.

I'm talking major refined earthy forest proper opening, all breezy dark greens and browns, quite several clear detectable woods notes and then build up a few separate accords type complexity. Smooth, highly masculine, got the fashionable to it, got the magnetic, Carner did their thing with the Drakon out of the bestial and black lines. Not a leather, never was these past three four years, pure night out mesmerizing.

Drakon is an otherworldly, animalistic masterpiece of smouldering greenery, crackling kindling, and rough leather. In other words, it perfectly lives up to the ad copy. Wearing this makes me feel like a princess locked in a tower, in no particular hurry for the knight to show up. Carner Barcelona rarely miss and Drakon is that holy grail of perfumes - creative, transportive, thrilling, and still perfectly wearable.

Interesting opening but then a strong musk appears within the first half hour, and I personally just can't deal with musk. For some reason, if a fragrance has musk then that's basically all I can smell... Unfortunately the musk in this fragrance overpowers all the other notes, so it just doesn't work for me.

it lacks cohesion, all over the place. Reminiscent of the manly 80 ́s/90s bombs. Ferre, Yatagan, in that vein. Must be hard to be a niche brand in today's climate, with so many amazing and original juices being released almost daily. This is a very mediocre dragon

Bitter burnt oily grass, smoky sandalwood, foliage of autumn fires, sweet ash. As if Cuirs was cremated for a second time, and so after that you get this. But there's nothing rising from these ashes, it's just ashes is all. Leather? If you say so.

Me encanta. Duración, proyección, calidad desmedida. Un perfume y una casa española que deben estar en lo más alto.
