Isla Bohemia

What an incredible fragrance! This is my first Carner Barcelona and it's the deep, dark middle of winter here in Australia with a sombre grey day full of rain. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here enveloped by a cloud of the most delicious pear, iris and vanilla and enjoying every second! It's a really good performer too - so much so that I thought it was an extrait de parfum. It's sunny, bright and incredibly mood-lifting. 5 stars.

I love it! And i can't believe its a Carner Barcelona bottle. Since today i have tried them all and liked only Palo Santo. Probably its just my taste. Love the iris-pear-vanilla combination - iris balaces the sweet vanilla and pear gives it a bit freshness and makes the scent alive. What an elegant little summer dress scent 😇. Not a freshie, only for those, who like a balanced sweetness.

One of the most feminine fragrances I’ve ever tried. It’s incredibly sensual yet gentle. I’m not the biggest fan of iris, but paired with pear, it truly becomes a masterpiece.

Powdery, lactonic iris heaven. Really reminiscent of Ariana Grande’s vanilla suede.

At first this opens up like a sugary citrus summer perfume. You get the brightness of bergamot and the sweetness of vanilla and a light musk. But the purple florals are the best part of this. The inclusion of iris and violet make it really beautiful and whimsical. Isla Bohemia is a breezy, casual and carefree, feminine fragrance. It reminds me of a brighter and more summery take of Dama Bianca, I'm surprised this comparison has not already been made.

As much as I wanted to fall head over heals for this one after seeing the pyramid, I am meh-ed. The pear and iris somehow don't work well to my nose, like having 2 totally mismatched protagonists that clash into each other. The pear is somehow too realistic - ripe and sandy, disappears quickly without melting into the rest. The vanilla in the end makes it all the more banal, although it is a nice caramely vanilla.

It smells like Printemps blanc from maison mataha. Its very nice, powdery and sweet. Pear stays very light.

Pleasant but boring. I guess I expected more from it. I bought it for the iris and I definitely smell it but it’s not done in the way I like iris to be done nor did it stand out in any way from the crowd. The only word that came to mind when wearing it was “meh”. Vanilla and musk heavy with iris and pear but the pear I think is what throws me off, like it all doesn’t go quite right together but still it’s pleasant enough and I’m sure others will enjoy it more than me. Surprisingly though it lasted and projected for a long time, I say surprisingly because my experience with this house is more subtle offerings so I was surprised by that.

It was a blind buy and I'd honestly say I was disappointed. I expected freshness, fruit, something bright and uplifting. The pear is obvious at the opening for about 5 minutes. After that, what is left is just sickly sweet vanilla, almost gourmand, which I hate. No sign of iris or musk or I am just unable to smell that. Only vanilla.

Working my way through a lot of samples from Carner and so far...underwhelmed, there’s a synthetic quality I’m really not into. I will say it has brilliant longevity but on me I’m just getting a sickly sweet vanilla. Really unfortunate as I was looking forward to this one. Not full bottle worthy for me.

Quite delicate, musky pear scent. I bought it taking the opportunity of an offer but is really forgettable... nothing new. I thought this would have been THE summer scent but unfortunately is not. Rather chemical ... so far all the carner perfumes i tried have been quite disappointed ☹️.

Bought this 15ml as an offer to try it alongside BO-BO.. Nothing special.. I will wear it till it runs out but like at the gym.. Nothing to wow you in this. Pleasant Iris musk bomb freshy.

Not for me. I don’t get summer from this scent. The fragrance is heavily dominated by the iris and musk notes. A no for me

I like it. It’s not too complex, it’s not overly sweet and doesn’t go into the gourmand territory, which is hard for a vanilla based perfume. Don’t expect complicity, don’t expect huge compliments or being original- Because this perfume is simple from start to finish. That being said, it’s good because it’s simple! I think I might get a full bottle of this, because it will be a very safe option for layering. Now for the notes: it starts of with green apple / pear. Quickly going into a musky powdery vanilla which isn’t gourmand. Longevity and silage are above average but not beast mode. Totally unisex.

Delicious! If French Cowboy Pear Pavlova and Fugazzi Angel Dust had a baby, this would be it. It’s a lot more subtle than Pear Pavlova and a lot sweeter than Angel Dust, but holds that powdery musky DNA that I get from both perfumes. Ultra fresh on the opening, but dries down into a comforting woody vanilla - for sure a more ‘summer appropriate’ vanilla. I don’t get much Iris which I’m thankful for as I’m not crazy for florals. I can’t wait to pick up a 100ml when I can!

To my nose this is almost identical to Perfume Sucks - Living Coral. I liked the opening better of Isla Bohemia though, it’s a bit lighter/fresher, but the dry down is almost identical. I kind of like it but there’s something bothering me. There are better options from Carner in my opinion.
