Salado

This literally smells like salad dressing, at first. You definitely get the marine, ozonic, acidic, and cucumber notes. As it dries down, It becomes very fresh, still marine, but a little less vegetal. I don't get much petitgrain or bergamot, but the scent after dry down is definitely cucumber marine on me. However, it matures slowly to a quite complex and beautiful, slightly marine scents with the tiniest bit of musk. I would classify it as a marine/skin scent, but that implies that it fades fast or significantly, which it does not. I actually love it as it ages on me. It has decent projection and lasting power considering its notes and accords. I really own nothing like it, as I'm super picky with marine scents and rarely find one that is bottle worthy. It would be beyond fabulous in summer or on a beach vacation. I might need to pick up a bottle.

I love this fragrance, it's just perfect for the hot weather. The fact that there is almost no sweetnes in it (maybe a hint from the pink pepper) makes it super relaxing for those hot summer days, it's almost like the water with cucumber slices you find by the pool bar. 100% satisfied and one of my favorite summer frags along with Renaissance by Xerjoff (Yep, that much I like).

I am wearing this today in warm clear skies 28C in Australia and it is perfect! It is refreshing like a cologne but does not resort to citrus or melon. The pink peppercorn gives it zest and the cucumber gives it freshness while the salt gives you summer skin. I love it! Love this house!

Fresh, a bit salty and volatile/somewhat heady orange flower perfume. It's great, especially in the drydown. A real warm weather fragrance. Too bad it's performance is not the greatest, but with some re-application Salado is still good! 88

I believe it is quite unique as I don't remember coming across fragrances that smells like salad. This one is super fresh for hot and humid summer day.

To me this is as if Green Tea Cucumber and L'eau Par Kenzo had a baby, somewhere in between, but with very little longevity. I like it but I don't think it is worth the price, unless you are super rich. I would use this as a pick-me-up after a shower, but it's so fleeting to my nose (I can barely smell it 1 hour after spraying it). It does smell like freshly cut cucumber, so if you don't like cucumber in your perfumes, you will probably not like Salado. I first tried it on my skin and it smelled like a salad, a bit salty and a bit sour. Then I tried it on clean skin and it's very different, much more aquatic and the faint dry-down is rather musky. So be careful when you try it, definitely don't test it on a blotter and make sure your skin is clean (which makes me think it might not be a good idea to reapply it throughout the day). I would recommend this to people that are very sensitive to strong scents, your nose will probably find this just right. It makes me think of the molecule perfumes, it might be also a good choice for during/after pregnancy if you are sensitive to smells in general. Overall it's not offensive, suitable for every day, if you want a clean vibe with a bit of aquatic freshness.

Salado is a very fresh salt-water scent. It opens with deep citrus - airy & punchy nose feel, with zest, sweetness and some woodiness. Orange flowers bloom from the zest, and is enjoyable. As the opening fades, the main presentation rises like the tide. There is water, salt, and synth-y cucumber. The heart skews fresh & calonic, rather than briny. This cold glass of cucumber juice is strong and almost loud for a good hour & a half. The dry-down begins when the cucumber starts to calm down. The freshness remains but is rounded by silky and light woods. Performance is rather good for a water perfume. It dries down to a skin scent after the third hour, and hangs around for a few more. All in all, Salado is definitely a hot weather, day time scent. Fans of zesty tops and the cucumber note should sample this. Very refreshing!

I love Carner Barcelona and I bought a full tester on sale from a store that was discontinuing it. I was worried that I made the wrong choice because the opening is VERY green, it smells exactly like freshly cut cucumbers. I like cucumber scented fragrances, but pure cucumber is a little jarring. Luckily this settles down to the most lovely aquatic scent that makes you feel like you're at the beach. I don't get much salt or citrus, but the citrus may be what gives this a slight sweet scent in the dry down. This lasts 12 hours on me, but it is noticeable for the first 6 hours and then becomes a very close skin scent. Lovely summer addition to my collection and would layer beautifully with citrus scents.

Salado is a very fresh cucumber scent that’s very summery but not sweet. It reminds me of my poor teenage years in the 90s when the only skin care I could afford care was an alcohol-based cucumber lotion. Can’t believe I used it on my face. But it is in fact a good memory because it brings me back to carefree school summer holidays. On the dry-down Salado kind of reminds me of Pacific rock moss by Goldfield & Banks even though their pyramids are very different. I think that’s because Salado becomes less vegetal and more marine and salty as it dries. A good choice for the hot summer when you’re longing for a cool breeze.

Fresh scent for a hot day. Has a light suntan lotion vibe, making it unisex leaning a tad bit feminine, but it’s a super ozonic fresh and crisp bright “salty” citrus with a slight woody undertone. Very welcome in this 80°F springtime. Feels like a white polo beach day while outside having brunch. With 10 sprays, sillage is great for first 3 hours and leaves a wonderful trail. Blind buy winner.

Let's be honest: many people out there like laundry musks and lavender. This quenches the thirst for an upgraded Bath and Bodyworks cucumber scent. No, not super imaginative, but right on point. It's fresh, it's CUCUMBER, and then settles into salty-summer body. I like my sample. Don't know if I'd throw for a FB summer-freshy cucumber, but it's a nice pick-me-up on this hot Cali night.

This is extremely unique and might be a little difficult to pull off outside of the middle of summer to be completely honest. It does smell good but the opening is a bit challenging.

Cool cucumber. I really enjoyed wearing this on a hot-hot summer. I like it. You can sell me anything that smells like sun-kissed skin, I am a sucker for that kind of thing :)

This is a savory gourmand. It literally smells like salad in the opening, a delicious salad. This will cause a vegan to cannibalize you and I wouldn't blame them.

It begins as a hairspray and salt, filled with petitgrain and very sweet honeyed orange blossoms which, with the note of cucumber, remain moist, fresh, similar to ripe green apples. Rather fermented. I also have woody notes that with the spicy and salty air take me straight to a pine forest not far from the sea, with a glass of fresh lemonade in hand, in the hottest hour of the day with sweat on my forehead. Like a sweet flower salad, fragrant fresh from the laundry, feminine, with a sultry, static air, relaxing in abandoning oneself in the heat. Not bad, certainly already heard, scented with flowers, a little synth, dense and durable with the note of salt that raises the register. Bright but also a little tiring to wear. Here, you still have a complete package. The heat around you and the coolness on you. Serene. Somehow bringing home the result.

Smells like greek salad with lots of cucumber! If you have tasted it you know what I mean. Not for me under any circumstances but I guess will be good for others who want that smell!

Is it just me or are there some batch inconsistencies with Salado? I first tried this fragrance in a boutique and the sales assistant gave me a sample to try out. The full tester bottle and the sample had this orange blossom scent in addition to the salty cucumber notes but when I bought a full bottle after the tester ran out, I noticed that the full bottle smelled like a totally different fragrance! The full bottle I received smelled like bitter cucumber and lasted only 1/2 hour on my skin before disappearing completely. I'm not sure if this is a new updated formulation or if the fragrance was damaged by heat. I'm glad one of the reviews below described this as a "heady orange blossom perfume" because that's what drew me to this fragrance (not to be confused with Bo Bo, which I also own and is encapsulates both the fruit and flowers). Sadly I had to return Salado - if I find a bottle that smells like what I smelled when I first try it, I will definitely give this another go.

Very fresh and pleasant perfume, as a lover of fresh summer perfumes I couldn't not have it! At the opening I smell a fresh citrus but very diluted by the cucumber which I love in every form in a perfume.... it gives an aquatic sensation without those calone notes that sometimes annoy me, the more the hours pass the more a clean soul emerges, almost crystalline, I seem to see a waterfall of clear water in a cove in a tropical sea.... very balanced and wonderful, a well-made variant that differs from the usual citrus fruits to which we are accustomed, for me irreplaceable from now on then for the summer

In the opening it smells almost exactly like a salad with a lot of cucumbers drenched in vinaigrette with salt and pepper, but the fragrance is slightly smoother than the real thing. It is watery, savory, musky, slightly floral, and it feels marine. When the scent dries down it becomes softer, less savory, and more floral and woody. It reminds me a little of Marc Jacobs Curacao. This is an unconventional summer freshie that I actually appreciate a lot after it took some time to grow on me. It is very relaxing and soothing. Stays very well on my skin. I give it a 7/10.

Salado literary smells of when you cut a fresh cucumber, that inside part, mixed with water. That's very very vegan and fresh, weird at some points but quite addictive. Fortunately after some hours turns very fresh, green and airy, clean. I really like it but i feel so weird smelling like cucumber :-) The name has nothing to do with the smell, Salado means Salty but no salt in here. Wonderful summer option!!!

If your childhood signature was BBW Cucumber Melon then you NEED to give this a try. It’s the same vibe but more mature and elevated. Salado is soooo refreshing, slightly sweet, and clean. The cucumber is the star here but it’s rounded with powdery orange blossom and laundry musks and ozone notes. I found this to have moderate/intimate projection, but moderate longevity.

elevated cucumber melon- love the salt and herbal spice up-close on my skin... but in the air unfortunately i'm getting b&bw and i wouldn't buy a full bottle. interested to try my sample again in the summer, though, and l think i might like to smell this on my husband.

Honestly smells cheap, it basically rips off elizibeth ardens green tea cucumber which actually smells better but at a fraction of the price. Salado is around 10 times the price, smells just as cheap if not cheaper and lasts just as long which is well under an hour.

Sweat in a good way, a very "human" scent without being musky and vegetal too. Picture a big ice cold chug of that cucumber gatorade that not everyone likes but I do after playing beach volleyball. Layers well

Nice one, a freshy that is going in a different direction. a nice Window cleaner vibe, the cucumber is prominent. There is a gourmand undertone; it must be the woods/ salt combo. Very much unisex. Nice try

This perfectly named scent really smells like a cucumber salad! Kudos to the perfumer for reproducing this scent realistically; however, I do wonder why anyone would want to smell like that?!
